Halloween Hits CBC!

Fun time this year with Halloween. We scared more parents than kids. Some pictures of the fun.

This one is very eerie.

So staying in the Halloween mode, I saw this poll tonight:

So, 69% of people couldn't care less about CBC. Maybe it is a Halloween joke. HA!

This one absolutely has to be a Halloween joke....right?

I don't watch hockey, so this picture of the Habs uniforms really took me by surprise. Is that really their uniform? It looks like a candy cane crossed with a barber pole. It belongs in this post about Halloween.

After weeks of getting ready for Halloween, and waiting for the kids tonight, it ended up being great fun. Next year, the guillotine!

Friday Night Funnies: Halloween, What Else Did You Expect?

My parents are visiting from Kelowna, and Halloween is tomorrow, so I have no time for politics this weekend. I do however have time for some jokes, ethnically correct or not. Here we go:

2010 Master canceled, winner already announced:

"As Americans we should not be shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name.

We gave him the White House based on the same credentials..."

An incredible story of luck and inspiration for all of us!!

Can you believe it?
This guy wins $181 million in the lottery last Wednesday.
And then finds the love of his life just 2 days later.

Talk about LUCK!!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two brooms were hanging in the closet and after a while they got
to know each other so well, they decided to get married.

One broom was, of course, the bride broom, the other the groom
broom.

The bride broom looked very beautiful in her white dress. The
groom broom was handsome and suave in his tuxedo. The wedding
was lovely.

After the wedding, at the wedding dinner, the bride-broom leaned
over and said to the groom-broom, "I think I am going to
have a little whisk broom!"

"IMPOSSIBLE!" said the groom broom.

Are you ready for this?
Brace yourself; this is going to hurt! !! !! !

"WE HAVEN'T EVEN SWEPT TOGETHER!"

Oh for goodness sake... Laugh, or at least groan.
Life's too short not to enjoy... Even these silly little cute......
And clean jokes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds to me like she's been sweeping around!!!

I have a few pumpkins to carve, but what do you do with the seeds? (Not a joke, but useful and yummy!)

Pumpkin Seeds

Arturo Delfin
The pumpkin carving ritual wouldn't be complete without the smells and crunching of roasted pumpkin seeds! This also works for squash seeds, including spaghetti squash.
Ingredients:

Pumpkin or squash seeds
If you want to add salt or seasonings, you'll need a bit of oil so it will stick
Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 F. (or seed below for lower slower method).

1) Clean the pulp off the pumpkin seeds (or squash seeds), and dry with paper towels.

2) If desired, toss with a little olive or other oil. You only need enough to barely coat, otherwise, they will be greasy. Add salt and any kind of seasoning you want - garlic powder, Cajon seasoning, dried chile powder, or whatever sounds good to you!

3) Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the seeds out in one layer.

Bake for 3-5 minutes, until seeds just start to color and are fragrant. Sometimes I use a longer but safer method of using a lower temperature. If you roast the seeds at 250 degrees F., you don't have to watch them as carefully. It takes about 45 -60 minutes.

Will I Live to see 80?
Here's something to think about.

I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive Lab tests, she said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age. (I just turned 66)

A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking , 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?'

She asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?'

'Oh no,' I replied.. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!'

Then she asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?
'I said, 'Not much... my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!'

'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'

'No, I don't,' I said.

She asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?'

'No,' I said.

She looked at me and said, 'Then, why do you even give a shit?

Little Johnny's at it again...... A new teacher was trying to make use of her psychology courses. She started her class by saying, 'Everyone who thinks they're stupid, stand up!' After a few seconds, Little Johnny stood up.. The teacher said, 'Do you think you're stupid, Little Johnny?' 'No, ma'am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself!'

* * * * * * * * * * *
Little Johnny watched, fascinated, as his mother smoothed cold cream on her face. 'Why do you do that, mommy?' he asked. 'To make myself beautiful,' said his mother, who then began removing the cream with a tissue. 'What's the matter?' asked Little Johnny. 'Giving up?'
* * * * * * * * * * *
The math teacher saw that little Johnny wasn't paying attention in class. She called on him and said, 'Johnny! What are 2 and 4 and 28 and 44?' Little Johnny quickly replied, 'NBC, FOX, ESPN and the Cartoon Network!'
* * * * * * * * * * *
Little Johnny's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures tacked to a bulletin board of the 10 most wanted criminals. One of the youngsters pointed to a picture and asked if it really was the photo of a wanted person. 'Yes,' said the policeman. 'The detectives want very badly to capture him. Little Johnny asked, " Why didn't you keep him when you took his picture ? "
(this is my favorite)
* * * * * * * * * * *
Little Johnny attended a horse auction with his father. He watched as his father moved from horse to horse, running his hands up and down the horse's legs and rump, and chest. After a few minutes, Johnny asked, 'Dad, why are you doing that?' His father replied, 'Because when I'm buying horses, I have to make sure that they are healthy and in good shape before I buy. Johnny, looking worried, said, 'Dad, I think the UPS guy wants to buy Mom ..'

Video of our 2009 Halloween House to come....it's spooky!! My Mom thinks we should phone up the TV stations so they can come over and film it. Typical Mom, their kids are the best, always, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

TD BANK In For Some Serious Backlash!

I wonder why the TD Bank would get into the climate change issue with a report that was guaranteed to incite Western Canadians into a frenzy, and frenzy it will be. Do they not understand that Albertan's still remember NEP, that's why they will not vote Liberal. For a bank to get political, which is what they have done by paying for this report, is unCanadian. And Donald Drummond is responsible for this report. He requested it, the TD paid for it.

Mr. Drummond was curious about the regional economic impact of the Conservative government's plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 20% below 2006 levels by 2020, and commissioned a study to investigate. So far, so good.

His mistake was to ask two environmental groups, the David Suzuki Foundation and Pembina Institute, to author the report.

Oh, and this is hysterical:

"For anyone to insinuate retribution against a guy as neutral as Don Drummond...it's thuggery," said David McGuinty, the Liberal environment critic.

Mr. Drummond said that TD does not endorse the findings but neither does he think the results of the study were distorted. "We have an obligation to analyze economic matters that will affect our own business and that of our clients. We have always done this," he said.

Thuggery, HA! Hey McGuinty you Liberal crybaby, try this for neutral:

Drummond was once a senior economic adviser to former Liberal prime minister Paul Martin and is someone the current Liberal leader, St├ęphane Dion, likes to cite in his speeches in favour of taking action against global warming.

Political hardball? No question. But as Drummond told CBC News, "it's all in the timeframe." If you accept the government's contention that to meet the Kyoto deadline of 2012, big cuts — equivalent to almost 30 per cent of our current greenhouse gas emissions — have to begin in 2008, and the only vehicle for those is a tax.

"This would not be the approach I would recommend," Drummond said. But other techniques would take time to implement, "and that's why I grudgingly accepted that if you are going to have that type of timeframe, which is incredibly tight, you are going to have to go with a very blunt [instrument], such as a huge increase in the carbon tax."

That is why he is not in favour of proceeding with the clean air bill as currently amended either, Drummond added. "I do want to see something done with the environment. [But] I think the economic impact would be so dire that environmental policy would be abandoned."

Yikes that is from CBC, the mouthpiece of the Liberal party, so it must be true!

The TD Bank financed Calgary-based Pembina Institute and Vancouver's David Suzuki Foundation to produce the comprehensive report. The group contracted with respected economic consultants, M.K. Jaccard and Associates Inc., to model the impacts of climate policies; Jaccard has done similar work for the Canadian government.

TD's chief economist, Don Drummond, said the bank has not endorsed any targets, though it has supported a policy of a national emissions cap. He said the bank's interest was to shed light on an area where there has been little informed debate: the likely cost of imposing regulations.

So, Drummond, a Liberal, who supported Dion's carbon tax, gets the TD to pay for this joke of a report by two of the most far left econut organizations in Canada, and the TD doesn't think that it will impact their business with oil companies, and us, the little people? Our money can walk right over to the nearest Alberta Treasury Branch or our Credit Unions. We had already transferred our mortgage to a Credit Union but now it's time for us little people to talk with our money.

This report stinks worse than a dog sprayed by a skunk. Try to get that smelly oil out of the dogs fur, it's very hard to do, but it's very easy for the skunk to spray that oil. That is what the econuts have done. They have fear mongered for over 20 years, and the oil is sticking to politicians, who think that we want our industry stopped because of CO2. What our politicians fail to understand is that we want REAL pollution eliminated not some airy fairy the sky is falling CO2 wealth transfer to third world despots who keep their people in poverty on purpose.

We just happen to have the NDP environment critic in Edmonton, Linda Duncan, she of the university minded, save our earth crowd, willing to kill thousands of jobs in Alberta, because she has a pension from the university already, and will get another one if she is elected again, a double dipping dipper. Wonder how the students studying the environment will feel about having NO prospects for jobs in Alberta, because we demand government funding of these eco-terrorists get cut off if the PC want to get elected again.

David Suzuki was probably kidding when he said Stephen Harper and Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach should be jailed.

No one is sure whether the UN was kidding when it recently named Tinker Bell -- yeah, Tinker Bell, you think I could make this @##% up? -- as an "Honorary Ambassador of Green" for children. But that's only because it's the UN.

Anyway, if you're wondering about the performance of the Kyoto accord, it's been a total disaster because it requires nothing of the vast majority of the world's nations when it comes to cutting their GHG emissions, including the world's number one emitter, China, and the number two emitter, the U.S.

The U.S., unlike Canada and Jean Chretien, was never stupid enough to ratify Kyoto, going back to the Bill Clinton-Al Gore administration. Yep -- Gore.

But, hey, don't think about any of that.

I urge you to call these hypocrites out, because they have a pair of deuces and we have a royal flush. We pay the taxes and they suck off of the goodness of delusional people who think CO2 is a pollutant.

How are all the econuts getting to Copenhagen? Canadian econuts should canoe to Copenhagen if they want any credibility. That is the problem, they have lost credibility and are now a laughing stock. I sense a funeral approaching, rest in peace global warming.

Oh, and TD Canada Trust, don't think we westerners haven't taken measure of you, and you should expect some reduction of deposits in the near future in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Just giving you a heads up.

Make An Informed Decision For Your Kids!

While the Liberals are busy fear mongering, and then having to apologize for it, parents are trying to make informed decisions about H1N1.

Liberal MPs apologized Wednesday for distributing a household flyer that attacks the government’s handling of H1N1 among aboriginals with the slogan “No vaccines, just body bags.”

The flyer, mailed as a message from Liberal health critic Dr. Carolyn Bennett, features a picture of body bags in a lab and a sick aboriginal child.

Grand Chief Ron Evans of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs told a parliamentary committee the flyer was “very disturbing...it’s really troubling to our people.”

The pamphlet arrived on doorsteps after an investigation into an incident in which an official ordered 100 body bags for a First Nations community in Manitoba struggling with an H1N1 outbreak. The investigation concluded there was no ill will and the number was a miscalculation.
.......
But Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq wasn’t satisfied. She told the CBC, “We are in a pandemic situation where Dr. Bennett should know better.

“First Nations communities should not be used as punching bags for a political party.”

Good for Minister Aglukkaq, this has been made into a political issue by the Liberals from the get go. I'm afraid Dr. Bennett is a politician not a doctor, even if she has the degree. How childish and dangerous for her to be sending a flyer like that when we have a serious health crisis happening.

My husband and I have been discussing the vaccine for our boys. About 2 weeks ago, my oldest stayed home not feeling very well, but he had no fever or vomiting, then my youngest came down with the same thing, then both my husband and I started feeling bad but not bad enough to stay home, we were all just mildly under the weather, no fevers. So, did we all have H1N1? If so, none of us need the vaccine. Problem is that testing to see if you have H1N1 has stopped and the assumption is that if you have the flu, it's H1N1.

Here is an article that I found very helpful. Is it swine flu? When parents should call a doctor

How do I know if my child has swine flu or a regular flu?

Without laboratory testing, it's difficult to tell the difference between swine flu and seasonal flu. And with the strain established in communities across Canada, doctors are no longer testing to determine which types of flu people have.

But because the H1N1 is circulating so widely and "pushing out" other strains, chances are good that if you catch the flu in the next couple of months, you've caught swine flu.

The symptoms of swine flu in kids older than five are similar to those of regular flu. They are:

* fever of 38 C (100.4 F) or higher when measured orally
* coughing and sore throat
* fatigue
* lack of appetite
* sometimes vomiting and diarrhea, especially in younger children

Make sure you read the rest of the article, it's very informative for parents. I asked my youngest how many kids were missing from his class today, he said about 11 out of 30, so it appears the flu is here. Now, the question is, have we already, without knowing it helped to spread the flu? Or, was it something else and we should still get the vaccine? In the end, you can consult all the doctors you want, but the decision is yours to make. We are waiting for the people really at risk to get their flu shots before we make our final decision. If we have already had H1N1 and recovered, then no need for us to take up someone else's spot in the vaccine lineup.

All the information is available for those who want to make an informed decision. Look at the sidebar of the above article, lots of links are available.

Question Period: A Red Herring!

I have not been doing my question period videos lately because I switched to a Mac and my video capture software only works on Windows. I can do it, but it is not as easy as before, I need to switch from the Mac to Windows back again to the Mac. I did have the time tonight to capture some of question period and power play. Here is the abbreviated version of question period. The last bit is really funny, even the Speaker gets into the fun.

So, first up was PM Harper mentioning the protesters from yesterday, and then Clark on Power Play reminds us what happened. Seems like the NDP might have had a hand in those protests. Just a suggestion, but maybe someone should be talking to NDP MP Linda Duncan, she is very good at getting the youth vote out. Weren't a lot of those protesters from Alberta? I have no concrete evidence it was her, but it's how she ran her campaign. Besides that, if the CBC can show a protester bleeding, implying bad behaviour by the RCMP and security at Parliament, I can ask some journalist to check into her connection to the eco-protesters.

Then we get a Liberal MP, supposedly a DR., Carolyn Bennett going ballistic. She really has an irrational reaction to anything Conservative. Watch her during question period, a more sour face you will never see. Anyways, if as a DOCTOR, she is confused, maybe it's better that she is in Parliament, away from patients. Just saying.

Then we get lots of fun talk about herrings, even the Speaker mentions red herrings, and watch Jason Kenney, he finds "herring problem" pretty funny. It was a good way to round out question period.

You can see how relaxed the Conservatives are on their side and how tense the Liberals are, they didn't even smile about the "red herring" comment. Tense, tense, tense. Where was their leader today? PM Harper managed to be in the House, and I'm sure he is twenty times busier running a country. Poor Iffy can't seem to control 77 MP's, let alone his own party.

Evidence of that is how Clark got played by the Liberals today on Power Play, Joanne at Blue Like You has the goods on that event. Ouch, Tom looked like a fool and the Liberal strategist let him. Or did the Liberal strategist have no clue either? That's even worse. Even Liberals have no clue what's happening in their own party.

Like A Hamster Running Endlessly In It's Wheel...

Getting nowhere, but wearing itself out in the process. That's how I think of the Liberals these days. Even with all the help from their media friends, nothing is working. If the Liberals want to see their numbers increase, they need to shut up for awhile. Seriously, they were tied with the Conservatives this summer when they went back into their ridings, and Iffy was busy thinking thoughts on rainy days.

It's like a game of whack a mole, every time they pop their heads up, they get whacked. Easter and his door knob is a perfect example of how ridiculous the Liberals have become. Far be it from me to offer any ideas to the party of "Canadian values".

I think PM Harper hit one out of the ball park with his song, and Canadians woke up. They looked around and realized that the government is doing a great job. Last into the "recession" and now the Bank of Canada expects 3% growth for 2010. That is excellent news for Canadians. Sure we have high unemployment, but those willing to work are still able to find something to hold them over until better times arrive. The stimulus money is getting out into communities and will leave us with better roads, rinks and bridges. What will not happen is some long term money sucking scheme like a national daycare program, that would keep on vacuuming up taxpayers money year after year.

Same with global warming, 120 immature activists think that they have the right to disrupt Parliament because they are not happy? Oh, grow up, get a job, start paying taxes and then tell me how you feel. When 50% of your pay cheque goes to taxes, see how you feel about the government wastefully spending your money on windmills and solar panels, when your kid needs some formula and diapers. Cloth of course for you greenies. HA!! Try those for a week, you will get really tired of washing the kid, clothes and bedsheets everyday, not to mention the unpleasant smell that will settle into your hair, clothes and furniture. Maybe we should make these youngsters pay for 100% of their post secondary education, that might smarten them up.

The voters in this country are appreciating the common sense approach to governing that PM Harper and his Conservative government are employing. Let the Liberals keep running in that wheel, when they leave it during the next election, they will be too dizzy to do anything, and that will only help this great country of ours get back on track.

Tough On Crime! About Time!

What's wrong with supporting victims instead of criminals? If a judge puts you away for 10 years, in should mean 10 years, not 5 years because of the 2 for 1 rule. Then you get an early sentencing hearing that means you might get out in 2 years. Our justice system is a mess. Why? Let me tell you why.

A person I know is a die hard Liberal, you can't even say hello without him yapping about how lame the Conservatives are. His wife was promoted to being a judge just before the Conservatives won the election. All you hear from him now is how the Conservatives are out of ideas. Talk about Liberals supporting Liberals. She is part of the problem, she carries her "Liberal values" into her work. Like this judge....

When a young kid is beaten to death, you would think the judge would slam the book on them, but even in Alberta the Liberal judges rule our lives. Here is a case that should make you so mad you want to smack a lefty. (We know we won't do it but it would feel good if we did)

Please read this story about a 17 year old boy killed by budding criminals, who because of their age get off with community service. The harshest sentence was 4 years, yes you heard that right, 4 years for a life. Poor Shane was brutally murdered by some kids who were upset because they were thrown out of the party earlier, and the judge felt sorry for them, not the victim.

For those of you too lazy to read the article, here it is:

A teenager who struck the fatal blow in a group beating of another boy at a house party near Edmonton in 2005 was sentenced to four years in jail on Thursday.

Christopher Griffiths, now 19, had pleaded guilty to manslaughter after hitting 17-year-old Shane Rolston with a metal baseball bat at the party in Sherwood Park, just east of Edmonton.

Shane Rolston was beaten to death after he opened the door of a friend's home during a party and was attacked by a group of teens who had earlier been thrown out.

Provincial court Judge John Maher, who handed down the sentence, said he took into consideration the fact that Griffiths and three other teens charged in the beating have shown remorse and none had been in trouble before.

But the sentence upset the victim's family members and friends who were in the courtroom.

"It definitely shook my belief in what this system is about," said Kelly Rolston, Shane's father.

"Because what I believed in was a just Canada, where the human life meant a lot more than the dollar. If you took a human life, you were responsible for it and you should be paying a price."

Rolston said it was beyond him how the legal system could be improved.

"They have to start making it so people are safe. The teen violence out there is becoming a real nightmare."

Conditional sentences for 3 others

Rolston happened to open the door of a friend's home when a group of youths who had already been thrown out of a house party there returned with weapons — including the baseball bat, hockey stick, metal pipe and pool cue.

Griffiths will serve four years, in addition to time already served.

On Thursday, three other men who pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon in the beating were handed two-year conditional sentences to be served in the community.

Justin Bridges, Josiah Lawson and Jonathan Giourmetakis, all 19, will also serve six months probation after the 24 months are up.

A fifth accused has yet to be tried as a youth.

I ask you, how sick is that? House arrest for murder. Our Liberal judges need a swift kick in the pants. John Maher needs to get real, he needs to feel the victims pain, not the criminals. He needs to open up his house to those babies who didn't really mean to kill someone. He needs to encourage the offenders to live with him. Let's see how quickly "house arrest" disappears from Liberal judges vocabulary.

They took a baseball bat, hockey stick, metal pipe and pool cue and killed a 17 year old boy, they killed him because they couldn't get into a party. They got house arrest. A life. He's gone, they only care about themselves.

Community Organizer College

Take a Sunday break, and watch this video.

Too funny, unfortunately too true. Where is Barack leading Americans. I am really worried about the direction he is going, because it impacts Canada. PM Harper needs to get signing more free trade agreements because the US is in trouble and they might take us down with them.

Is Your MP Blogger Deaf?

This is serious, and it has been bothering me for awhile. Do bloggers help or hurt their MP's?

If I have an opinion, and I express it on my blog, does that potentially reflect on my MP? Should my MP care? Do your MP's even know if you have a blog and comment on their performance? I know one Liberal MP, Paul Szabo, is aware of blogs, because he kindly corrected me on an issue.

Garth Turner is a good example of a disruptive influence. I think he hurt himself more than anyone else, but I think he had the right to express his opinion on his blog. I remember reading the blogs of Monty and his apartment mate, Chuck Strahl, they were funny and refreshing. The minute they became the government, they were shut down. I wonder if that is why Monty left politics? Tow the party line or get out.

What can a MP do if a blogger targets them? Dare they complain to the CHRC? Wouldn't that be a hoot, a MP claiming "hurt feelings" because of a blogger.

Do our MP's even understand the power of blogs? When is the last time you heard from your MP? Did you get a newsletter? Did you read it, or toss it into the junk pile? I suspect the junk pile, unread, but even lefties come here, and read my blog. Bloggers are potentially more capable of shaping your opinions than your MP. We reach more people in a day than they can ever possibly hope to reach. Too bad many MP's are blind to the power of bloggers, they could use them to increase their exposure in their ridings.

Let me give you an example.

I record question period and then produce videos. Granted, my videos are always slanted towards the Conservatives because that is the party I support, but I could just as easily turn it around and only present a negative image of the Conservatives. Do our MP's care or do they even know what a blog is?

Does your MP have a website, or blog? Is it current? If you want to know what stimulus spending your riding is getting, can you go to your MP's site and find out? Can you find out where they will be if you want to meet them? Do you care?

Next election, whenever that might be, bloggers will play a huge role in getting the message out. I can reach way more supporters with one blog than they can by door knocking 100 doors. If your MP is blogger deaf, they are missing out on a great opportunity to get their supporters out to functions.

So, check up on your MP, find out if they have a current website, and find out if they are blogger friendly or not, sadly mine isn't. Is your MP blogger deaf too?

Please read!!!

If you are an owner of a dog that belongs to a 'dangerous breed' category and you also have a child or a visiting small child please take this as a warning.

Don't leave your dog with a small child unattended under any circumstances!!!

Only one little moment was enough for the following to happen.

See the photo below ..... Be prepared, it's not pretty....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

Stop and think about it and decide on your answer before you look.

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2 How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?

Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals
attend .... Except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer : The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. Didn't you just put him in there? This tests your memory. Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and
you do not have a boat. How do you manage it? (Answer later...don't peek!)

A NEW COMPUTER MOUSE FOR WOMEN...

After years of research, scientists have discovered that women do not like the standard mouse given away with PC's. Scientists found that there is not a physical reason for their aversion; it is more of a Psychological problem.

Some women reported that their mouse 'just didn't feel right' in their hands. Based on the research, a new mouse has been designed especially for women. Various field tests have been carried out on the new design:

Julie from Calgary Alberta said:
It feels so much better. More comfortable, more like how it's supposed to be.’

Susan from Vancouver BC added:
I think mice were originally designed just for men, but this new type is definitely made for women. It fits right in with my lifestyle'.

Hillary from Winnipeg Manitoba : said - ‘I took to it like a duck to water, every woman should have one'!

Sally from Toronto Ontario Said - "It feels so natural".

What did you think you were going to see?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer to crocodile question:

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the
professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers.

This is how the old blond's are dumb thingy got started:

(Note this is an American joke, we would say "First Nations" person)

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun
In one hand pulling a male buffalo with the other.
He says to the waiter:

'Want coffee.'

The waiter says, 'Sure, Chief. Coming right up.'

He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee.
The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp,
Turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun,
Causing parts of the animal to splatter everywhere
And then just walks out.

The next morning the Indian returns.
He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling
Another male buffalo with the other.
He walks up to the counter and says to
The waiter

'Want coffee.'

The waiter says 'Whoa, Tonto!

We're still cleaning up your mess from yesterday.

What was all that about, anyway?'

The Indian smiles and proudly says ..

'Training for position in United States Congress:
Come in, drink coffee, shoot the bull,
Leave mess for others to clean up,
Disappear for rest of day.

Money Grab Or Real Concern?

Remember back to when the ozone layer was being depleted and we were the cause? All our vehicles and refrigerators had to be upgraded and it cost us. Companies made out like pirates. It was totally unnecessary.

You know those new squiggly light bulbs that have been mandated by law? Ever heard of GE? Do you think they might make a fortune on those over priced mercury filled bulbs? Yup, me too. What amazes me is that eco-nuts aren't up in arms about mercury being deliberately introduced into our households. They are strangely silent about that, or maybe it's not so strange.

You know how Suzuki always screams about how "deniers" are all funded by "big oil"? Funny how lots of these supposedly environmental companies are funded by "big business". I guess that's okay in lefty lala land.

Climatism and the new green industrial state

One of the big green lies about global warming science and climate change policy is that the issues are vicious battlegrounds between corporate interests and environmentalists. David Suzuki has been pushing this idea for years, at times going so far as to claim that the National Post and some of its editors/writers are corporate pawns and shills for big business's anti-climate change agenda.

.....
If there's a corporate-driven global PR machine, it's firmly on the side of climate control, grinding out one corporate climate agenda after another, an avalanche of business-government co-operation the likes of which the world has never seen. And smack in the middle of this global PR machine, shifting the gears and greasing the wheels, are the world's leading environmentalists and green NGOs: The World Wildlife Fund, David Suzuki, the Sierra Club, Environmental Defence, Forest Ethics, the Pembina Institute and many more. Together with industry, they pressure government in the creation of the green industrial state.

.....
Renewable energy may well be the best demonstration yet of the folly of climatism. But there is much more to come, at Copenhagen and beyond. Last week, to pick one example, a Canadian green business summit boasted Walmart, Maple Leaf Foods, Coca-Cola Bottling, McDonald's, Home Depot as leaders, with a keynote speech by David Suzuki titled, "Business, like every other sector in society, must understand that being green is about sustainability." He'll be speaking to the converted.

Wonder why businesses like Coca-Cola and Walmart are climbing onto the green wagon? It's the green of profit they see, and the eco-nuts are right there with them, not concerned about actual reductions in CO2, but with lining their own pockets at our expense. With the green parties numbers at around 6%, I suspect that taxpayers are starting to see through the green fog.

Here is what I think is another scam, H1N1. Have you noticed the number of hand dispensers popping up everywhere? A person would be smart to invest in those companies stocks! This isn't just happening in Canada, it is worldwide. Think of the profits companies are making this year by supplying TWO flu shots. The regular flu shots are still being offered, but now we also have the H1N1 flu shot as well! Canada alone has ordered over 50 million of the shots, and we only have 33 million people. So the companies that make the needles, and the containers, and flu shot itself, have more than doubled their revenues because of the WHO saying this MIGHT be a pandemic. More people die of the regular flu every year than has happened with H1N1. Scare the people, grab the money and sit back laughing. Yet diabetics, who need the needles to live, have to pay for them.

Remember how mad cow disease was going to be deadly? Where is all the hype about AIDS? Aren't kids still dying in Africa from malaria? Problem for them is that they don't have any money, so they get to starve and die while the big corporations line their pockets with green dollars and fake pandemic bucks. SARS, global cooling, global warming, acid rain, ozone depletion, bird flu, flesh eating disease, climate change....money grab or real concerns?

Small molecule offers big hope against cancer

Funny no big companies are willing to fund this research because the cure is already a common chemical and there is no money to be made in it's production.

The "Pink Book" screams VICTIM.

I am thankful that no-one was hurt during the hostage taking in Edmonton. I can't imagine how frightened the hostages were. I also have a certain amount of sympathy for the guy who took them hostage (look at his picture at the above link, he has very sad eyes, not the eyes of a killer). He was living in an assisted living apartment, so he obviously had some medical problem that qualified him for that assistance. The system is broken. The people who need our help the most, are forgotten.

That leads me into a discussion of the "pink book". The "pink book" has exposed a huge problem, with Liberals. They do not understand women. While the Liberals were busy releasing their third version of the "pink book", making women everywhere in Canada, into second class citizens, real people in need are forgotten.

I would like to see Minna Mouse get out and actually help a woman with an abusive husband. I bet she has room in her home for one family in need. Unfortunately, that's not what the "pink book" is about, it's about making women into victims. The weaker sex. The "pink book" is disgusting to any strong willed, self supporting woman.

It tells women who are raising their children on their own that they are inferior. Only working women count and they get paid less than an engineer, so that is unfair. Let me see if I get this feminist view right, a secretary should get paid as much as an engineer. That's why they quote the 75% number. It is total BS. Ladies, go to university/college and you too can get the same salary as men in your field. It's just that simple.

The "pink book" makes victims not friends.

Hunter News: At Home And At Work!

Life would be easy if I could watch news and read blogs all day, but that doesn't happen around here, so I thought you might like my perspective of politics, at home and at work.

Get up 6:45 when first guide dog arrives, wake kids up, hubby makes lunches, leaves for work. I check on my blog and delete any rude comments. Dress before second guide dog arrives around 7:30. Get kids breakfast, and out the door we go by 8:00, two kids, three guide dogs and me. Drop kids off at school, drop guide dogs at school, get to work by 9:00 if I'm lucky. Work, check blog at lunch, work, go home.

Get supper ready, monitor homework, check blogging tories, maybe National Post. Watch 6:00 local news on Global, read some blogs, talk to hubby about our day. Send kids and hubby off to bed, tune into Fox news, and sit down to write my blog. So what did I learn today at home and at work? What was the hot topic?

At home: Hubby and I are seriously considering voting Wildrose. My hubby hates politics, so when he tunes in, it's a huge development. The feeling around home is that new blood injected into our politics in Alberta has to be a good thing. If nothing else it will wake up the complacent PC's. We need more information about Wildrose before we commit to voting for them, but neither one of us could remember the name of the PC MLA who represents our voting area, and that is a bad thing. He's invisible, like our MP lately. Taking things for granted can lead to election problems, not for our MP, he is safe, not just because there is no one else to vote for, but because he is at least visible in Ottawa, as the finance committee chairman.

At work: Politics is sometimes discussed, last we heard about anything political was PM Harper singing. Even the Liberals in the office had to admire his performance, though they did it grudgingly. Wildrose was mentioned, most thought they were not a threat. I pointed out how Alberta turns on a dime, like this National Post editorial. It's a wait and see situation here in Alberta, a lot depends on who the Wildrose get to run as candidates.

So, I finally speed read through lots of interesting articles and have about an hour to decide what to blog on, and pull it together, my bed is calling. I have had only minimal contact during the day with the news, especially anything political, and I want to be original not a parrot of other blogs.

My take on the news today? Iffy wears a red sweater and kisses kids (yuck) has been severely under covered and as usual, negative coverage of the Conservatives has been over covered. Don't believe me? Here is what I saw when I finally sat down to read some news online.

First up, my favorite National Post, they cover Iffy at the play school, in his red sweater (creepy):

Next I went to CTV. Funny they seem to have missed the Iggy sweater event, but are busy bashing the Conservatives:

I don't often stray over to the CBC so you will have to forgive me for typing in www.cbc.com, and look where it took me! I can't read Japanese, but I made sure to exclude the lady with no clothes on the sidebar. Too funny! Does CBC know about this?

I finally got to the real CBC, and they are busy Conservative bashing too, and no red sweater guy in sight. You can tell it's the real CBC because of all the Liberal RED.

So the TV networks didn't cover Iffy the red sweater guy on their on-line sites, I don't know if they covered it in their actual network news, because just like 95% of the rest of the population, I just didn't have time to watch, and mostly, I couldn't care.

There you go, the first edition of Hunter's news, at home and at work! HA! That felt good. It's now 11:30 and 6:45 comes very early. So this is Hunter's news, signing off for tonight.

So The Globe And Mail Called Today....

I must say their telemarketers are efficient, they don't hang around on the line to get the full truth!

She asked if I read the Globe and Mail, and as it happened, I had gone online today and actually read an article after months of avoiding them, so I said yes.

She wanted to know if I had a subscription or bought it at a news outlet, I told her I read it online. She asked if I would like a subscription, I said not likely, and she said thanks, goodbye.

Do you think she somehow knew what was coming? HA! Smart lady!

After the call, I thought about our news industry and how badly they are all doing financially, even my favorite National Post is in trouble. I enjoy Global Edmonton TV because the news anchors are here in my city and understand the issues, I would hate to see them go. CBC, not so much.

What is most frightening, is what happens if we are left with only the taxpayer subsidized CBC? Think about that for a minute. CBC can not fail, because we pay over 1 BILLION for them to survive on some old Trudeau Maniac feeling that our culture will not make it if we do not support CBC. How did we survive as a cultural nation before CBC? How can CBC survive without anyone watching them? On our dime, that's how.

How stupid is CTV to be parroting CBC? They are ticking off 40% of the country, and they rely on our viewership to survive. Not so CBC. Nobody watches CBC anymore, and CTV thinks it's a good business model to follow? Are they next in line for government funding so they can feed off the taxpayers trough and be just like CBC? We can't afford another CBC.

I think CTV/Global should be taking the government to court for their funding of one TV station and not others. CBC should get no funding or they all should. They should all have to compete in the market fairly, not with one station having an advantage. Like the Canadian Wheat Board gets to dictate to our western farmers, but not the Ontario farmers who are free to sell their grain to anyone they want. The market is distorted and unfair.

Cable companies should refuse to carry CBC, see what the CRTC does with that idea. I suspect they would try to shut cable/satellite companies down, until the public gets involved.

I know Conservatives get ridiculed for their lack of support for CBC. What the lefties do not see, is the unfair advantage and total disregard for the free market economy that CBC represents, same with the CWB. Lefties hate capitalism, and therefore love the inequities that CBC and CWB represent. Conservatives see how unfair it is and respond with disgust.

Funny though, it is businesses that overwhelmingly support the Liberals. The days of businesses having their hands in both our pockets and the governments need to end. Businesses need to get out of politics and remember that it is the consumer that makes them profitable, not the government. But as government has grown, companies can't help tapping into the deep taxpayers pockets the government promises. I remember one sales representative getting a commission cheque of over $100,000 for ONE month, because he sold photocopiers to the government. One month!

The free market is being shackled by all the rules and regulations that governments are imposing. Environmental regulations, municipal bylaws, and unions all make it difficult for businesses to operate, no wonder they are moving to India and China. We need to wake up, and realize that our standard of living is at risk here.

So, the Globe and Mail called today, they got no respect because they deserve none. As consumers we need to pay attention to what businesses are supporting and if we don't like it, our dollars should walk.

Must Watch...Not Evil, Just Wrong!

Just watched it online and it is worth your time. There were over 9000 viewers online watching the premiere at only one site, so I am not sure how many viewers there were worldwide. It kept my interest the whole time and was not just an anti-global warming documentary. It presented the human side to what could happen. I don't think you can re-watch it at the site, I think they want you to buy the DVD. Makes sense, they are capitalists.

It reminded me of this ridiculous program:

Stronach and Mercer were at the conference to promote a "Spread the Net" program for purchasing and distributing bed nets in Africa to help protect children from mosquitoes.

"More African children under the age of five die from malaria than any other cause," she said.

Mosquitoes spread malaria, which kills 3,000 children in Africa every day.

The program, which aims to get individuals to buy 500,000 bed nets for distribution in Liberia and Rwanda, is the brainchild of Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, a famed economist and author of The End of Poverty.

The bed nets cost $10 each.

Malaria is epidemic in Rwanda, Sachs told the conference, with "children dying in huge numbers because of the lack of something as simple as a long-lasting insecticide-treated bed net."

No mention of DDT, it costs pennies and because of one silly little eco-nuts book, with no scientific verification, was banned world wide. Millions of African children have died because of people like Al Gore and Belinda, not evil, just wrong. They are wrong again, but seeing as how Al Gore's bank account is increasing just like the hockey stick he used in his Hollywood movie, I don't see him stopping his gravy train. He gets between $250,000 and $300,000 every time he speaks and he does not allow media or questions. Typical lefty, grab the money with lies and no debate.

Could it be about profits???

For decades, BASF has been committed to the fight against malaria and other tropical diseases. The company's latest contribution is Interceptor®, a mosquito net coated with the insecticide Fendona®. The net remains effective against mosquitoes for several years.

Funny DDT is harmless and has been around for years, but "new" solutions need to be found? Hummm. Like banning freon in fridges and now banning regular light bulbs to replace them with ones filled with mercury. Not evil, just looking for profits.

This hysteria about banning, a particular ambition of lefties, reminded me of this oldie but goody:

The most depressing part of the whole documentary was the little kids, talking about drowning after watching the Gore movie. Someone, like their teachers, should tell them it's fiction not fact. I challenged my sons teachers when my sons came home and told me they had watched the Gore movie in class. I demanded they should also show "The Great Global Warming Swindle, or stop showing Gore's movie. They had no clue that any other side of the issue existed. Nice teaching of our kids.

I don't think these people are evil, but their agenda is for sure. It hurts the poorest in our world, and with the Copenhagen Agenda, it seems they have assured the third world countries that they will get money, lots and lots of money, but no real help in development. Not evil, just socialist.

Copenhagen, We Should Be Worried!

It sounds like the Copenhagen Agreement is way more dangerous than Kyoto ever could have been, even if it had worked. Hopefully Canada will stick to it's guns and not sign anything unless China and India are on board. Here is a YouTube clip from a speech given by Lord Christopher Monckton, a noted climate change skeptic.

This goes hand in hand with this article from the National Post.

Climate 'debt' comes due

If Ottawa signs on to Copenhagen, the size of our resource-based export economy means Canada may pay more dearly for the UN's latest climate-change arrangement than almost any other country on the planet. And in the end, because it may only shift carbon-intensive production from cleaner countries to less-efficient ones, the entire exercise may do very little to limit emissions."The best thing we can do for the planet is get this Copenhagen process over with as soon as possible so that we can move on to real action," says Aldyen Donnelly, president of the Vancouver-based Greenhouse Emissions Management Consortium, an industry association aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions. If Canada does sign the treaty, she warns, we "will lose all control over our sovereignty and resource base in a matter of years."

Will lose all control over our sovereignty? This is exactly what Lord Monckton is saying in the video clip. This is not about global warming or climate change anymore, this is about one world rule.

I don't know about you but these two examples scare the heck out of me. The UN could be in charge of our world if western nations sign up for this new agreement. The same UN that panders to middle east countries, and allows corrupt dictators to take the podium and spout hate.
Here is the "draft" agreement, I haven't had time to read it yet, but I trust this site:

The Copenhagen Climate Change Treaty Draft – wealth transfer defined, now with new and improved “dignity” penalty

This comment says it all:

Imran (19:27:48) :

What you see is what this whole AGW smoke screen is all about. It has nothing to do with CO2 ….. and everything to do with some gigantic experiment in global socialism. It is about forcing the re-distribution of wealth.

Whilst this, in itself, may be a laudable goal, it completely ignores :
a) the creation of wealth as a function of individual creativity which always thrives from NO or LOW taxes
b) the historical lessons of the abject failure of such wealth re-distribution schemes in the past (eg. communism)
c) the lessons from history of corruption, nepotism and the subsequent human suffering that ALWAYS occurs when resources are just thrown at a problem. Just look at food aid programmes.

And the linking of this flawed ideology to the concept that hydrocarbon energy, which has been the engine of wealth creation in the west, is something environmentally undesirable, is a morally repugnant obscenity.

Emails to MP's about this should be sent as soon as possible.

Friday Night Funnies: Conservatives VS Liberals

I have had so many jokes submitted that I can't post them all, but I thank all my readers for their contributions. You know who you are! So, let's get started...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Daddy, how was I born?

A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born?'

The father answers, 'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe... We sneaked into a secluded room, and googled each other. There your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:

'You got Male!

AMAZING SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES

1. IF YOU'RE CHOKING ON AN ICE CUBE, SIMPLY POUR A CUP OF BOILING WATER DOWN YOUR THROAT. PRESTO! THE BLOCKAGE WILL INSTANTLY REMOVE ITSELF.

2. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.

3. AVOID ANY ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE BATHROOM SINK.

4. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER.

5. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.

6. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH.

7. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

8. REMEMBER - EVERYONE SEEMS NORMAL UNTIL YOU GET TO KNOW THEM.

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

The Pope and Nancy Pelosi are on stage in front of a huge crowd.

The Pope leaned towards Mrs. Pelosi and said, "Do you know that with
one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go
wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, like that of
your followers, but go deep into their hearts and for the rest of
their lives, whenever they speak of this day, they will rejoice!"

Pelosi replied, "I seriously doubt that...with one little wave of your
hand? Show me."

So the Pope slapped her…

With his buddy when he notices his friend
Is very well endowed.

'Damn, Bob, you're hung!' Jim exclaims.
'I wasn't always this impressive; I had to
Work for it.'

'What do you mean?' Jim asked.

'Well, every day for the past two years
I've spent an hour each night rubbing it
With butter. I know it sounds crazy but
It actually made it grow 4 inches! You
Should try it.'

Jim agrees and the two say good bye.

A few months later the two are in the
Same locker room and Bob asks Jim
How his situation was.

Jim replied, 'I did what you said, Bob,
But I've actually gotten smaller! I lost
Two inches already!'

'Did you do everything I told you? An
Hour each day with butter?'

'Well, I was out of butter, so I've
Been using Crisco.'

Crisco!!?' Bob exclaimed. '
Damm it, Jim,
Crisco is shortening!

Something Smells Bad, And It's Name Is...

WWF. World Wildlife Fund. I gave them $10 once, and I regret it, because they have nothing to do with Wildlife anymore. It's not rocket science to figure out why so many so called charities have started crying about "global warming". Just like scientists, they have figured out the the money is in "global warming" scare mongering. Here are two example of how ridiculous the WWF really has become.

Climate crisis putting Canada's rivers at risk

In its report "Canada's Rivers at Risk: Environmental Flows and Canada's Freshwater Future," the WWF-Canada looks at the health of 10 major rivers, not by analyzing the water quality but by assessing their water flow. (bolding mine)

It says the combined threats of climate change and growing demand for fresh water are hurting Canada's rivers. That demand is growing through:

* agriculture
* electricity generation
* expanding cities
* and industry needs

Oh, oh, agriculture, that nasty industry that actually feeds us. They should not be allowed access to our fresh water, that would deprive people in Africa from.....well food. Get rid of agriculture, they kill plants and animals.

Electricity generation, hey Quebec you are being targeted, if you want any advice, talk to Albertans.

Expanding cities? Okay, let's stop immigration, that should stop the demand for water, but Canada would become a wasteland because we actually need immigration, let's just make sure we exclude terrorists.

Industry needs, to make your Ipod, TV, and computer, right, let's shut them down too. Cars are running over skunks, squirrels and gophers, as I write.

So, according to WWF, we need to stop food production, electricity, immigration and all industry. Sounds fair. My family will do great in that situation, we love living in caves, and hunting deer and moose. I have a great deer jerky recipe! Hold it! Isn't the WWF all about protecting animals?

Arctic will be ice-free in a decade, according to Pen Hadow

An analysis by Cambridge University has concluded that the Arctic is now melting at such a rate that it will be largely ice free within ten years, allowing ships to cross the Arctic Ocean.

Further analysis by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) warned that the "irreversible trend" will cause dangerous feedback because water absorbs more heat from the sun than ice, therefore further speeding up the global warming process. The melting of the ice could also trigger extreme weather patterns as the ocean currents change and release even more greenhouse gases stored under the ice.

Okay, now WWF is up in the Arctic analyzing results from Suzuki and Gore cheerleaders.

The Catlin Arctic Survey, led by Mr Hadow, came in for criticism after the team only managed to get half way to the North Pole because of extreme weather conditions and the hi-tech radar equipment for measuring the ice failed in the first few days.

The seasoned Arctic Explorer, who was the first person to trek to the North Pole alone, was forced to continue with just a simple ice drill. During the 73 day trek he took 1,500 readings, often during pitch blackness and with windchill factors down to -70 degree C. The team also took thousands of visual observations to give an impression of how the shape of the ice sheet is changing.

Mr Hadow insisted the effort was worth it. He pointed out that no other readings of this year's winter sea ice was available to scientists and surface readings can pick up changes in the ice that were not being picked up by computer models.

Hey Hadow, did you pick up all your failed equipment off of our pristine Arctic? Those idiots were lucky to get out of there with their lives. He took 1500 readings in -70 wind chill, are you insane? They huddled in their tents and as for those visual observations, they observed it was dang cold out there and saw their lives flash before their eyes.

WWF is supporting this failed mission because they are singing the right tune. How can they seriously expect us to believe that in -70C the ice is melting? Really? I want to see Suzuki buy some land up north in anticipation of the BIG THAW, he could make millions charging ships to pass through our Arctic. HA. Nope, the guy is sitting in mild Vancouver pontificating about global warming, and how he can get more money from the scam.

The WWF is not about protecting animals anymore, they are all about "global warming" because that is where the money is, and they want their share. Shame on them.

If you are going to donate your money to a charity, this one should be struck from your list. They are nothing but a mouth piece for econuts. Start hitting these guys in their pocketbooks, stop donating to them.

A Threefer, Harper, Stelmach, and Mercer!

A threefer, Harper is excellent, Stelmach is okay, and Mercer rocks!

With PM Harper in Edmonton, our local station got an exclusive interview with him, it's a must watch, he was excellent, as were the questions. No Jane Taber type sniping in sight.

PM Harper in Edmonton: A very good interview no-one east of Saskatchewan will see.

Knowing he is trouble, Premier Stelmach gave a speech to Albertans that no-one watched. I like him, he is a good and honest man, but if you remember "Peter's Principle", he has reached his level of incompetence. Unfortunately, there is no-one I can think of that can replace him right now. (Ralph come back!) It was actually a good video, and he will probably win the next election, but, with the Alberta Wildrose Alliance breathing down his neck. He's good for one more, no more than that, or the PC's are in big trouble.
Premier Stelmach's speech:

I saved the best for last, Mercer on Liberals:

Eco-Scam Paid For BY Taxpayers.

Here's the headline to the latest eco-scam:

Canada could cash in on climate change battle

CALGARY --Canada could cash in on the battle for climate change should countries around the world spend the trillions of dollars the International Energy Agency contends is necessary to boost carbon capture and storage, it was predicted Tuesday.

Businesses and governments need to pony up between US$2.4-trillion and US$3.4-trillion before 2050 for carbon-capture and storage projects, the IEA said in a 46-page report. While Canada is going to have to invest billions to develop CCS techniques, that could translate into big profits down the road.

So, it's a cash cow, but only if we taxpayers supply the cash in the first place. Then the companies can cash in and make money, sounds like a good plan, for the companies. Kind of like we were promised savings with wind and solar, but quickly found out that we were lied to. Not only does it cost us more to install wind and solar, but it hits our pocket book with higher energy costs as well.

I was talking to my Mom this weekend and their gas in BC is at 1.01, ours is at 84.9, could it be the carbon tax that BC implemented? Just what is it getting them? Is their air any cleaner? No, CO2 is not a pollutant. Are they still dumping raw sewage into the ocean in Victoria? Where is that extra money going? Anyone???

Carbon capture and storage has morphed into a darling among industry players, policy wonks, and environmentalists as a key technology necessary to curb climate change. However, critics argue placing enormous amounts of hope on a technology that has not been fully proven is dangerous. Groundwater could become contaminated and the energy exerted building the infrastructure alone could temper the benefits, critics say.

Groundwater could be contaminated? With CO2? It's not a pollutant. Save the BILLIONS and improve our health care here in Alberta. Give us a public and private mix.

This carbon capture idea is just as big a scam as carbon credits. The thing is that it looks good politically. It lets people think they are being eco-friendly when we are wasting money better used to solve real problems, like handicapped people living below the poverty line.

While Canada's oil and gas industry -- the oil sands in particular -- have been slammed as a menace in the fight against climate change, coal-fired power plants are expected to host most CCS projects.

Hey Ontario, you are going to love sending even more money out west so your coal fired plants can continue to operate. I suspect your manufacturing sector will be getting huge orders to help building those carbon capture monsters, so we will all be happy, even the eco-nuts, who can not argue against this technology, because it's exactly what they have been pushing for. In the end it's a little better than a carbon market scam, because at least the money stays here in Canada and provides jobs.

The only losers, the taxpayers of course!

What's Up With Women?

Women appear to be on the march again, and it's not for unionized daycare.

This is the story of women who were ground-breakers. These brave women from the early 1900s made all the difference in the lives we live today.

Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote.

The women were innocent and defenseless, but when, in North America , women picketed in front of the White House, carrying signs asking for the vote, they were jailed.

And by the end of the first night in jail, those women were barely alive.
Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden's blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of 'obstructing sidewalk traffic.'

They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above
her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air.

They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack.

Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging,
beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.

Thus unfolded the 'Night of Terror' on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson's White House for the right to vote.

For weeks, the women's only water came from an open pail. Their
food--all of it colorless slop--was infested with worms.

When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a
chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited.
She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.

All women who have ever voted, have ever owned property, have ever enjoyed equal rights need to remember that women’s rights had to be fought for in Canada as well. Do our daughters and our sisters know the price that was paid to earn rights for women here, in North America?

2009 is the 80th Anniversary of the Persons Case in Canada, which finally declared women in Canada to be Persons!

Why Women Should Vote

Women went to jail and suffered beatings just a short time ago, to get the vote.

In Alberta, my lovely province, more women (64.6) would vote for Stephen Harper than men (58.3). We have smart, independent women here, that do not expect their "man" to support them, we out feminist the feminists. It's a real movement and other provinces are following, more women would vote for the Conservatives than Liberals, in every area of Canada. (click on Tories edge into majority territory) So, what are women thinking? Why the shift from the left to the right? What about women and their love of social programs?

It might be that Iggy is unappealing to women, but you could say the same about Stephen Harper, women didn't seem to like him....at first. Is he a cute teddy bear now, nope. Is he a chick magnet? HA!

I think it's that sense of security he gives off. He's reliable, honest and most important faithful. He's what every woman wants to have in a man, after she's gotten over the tall, dark, and dangerous type. Women are turning towards PM Harper because he is a steady boat in a crashing surf. If you were on that boat, and had to choose Harper or Iggy to get you to safety, which hand would you take? Who would you trust your child to? I would actually trust Layton more than Iffy, at least he has principles that he sticks to, wrongheaded as they are.

What's up with women? Face it, we are smarter than you think, after only 80 years of being able to vote, we understand how important it is to our families to vote for someone who will do their best to protect them and move this country forward. Right now that is PM Harper and the Conservative party.
