Busy working on a video, and I need your help again. Give me quick one line quotes from the media about proroguing Parliament, with sources. Such as; Parliament prorogued for 4 months, or this is unconstitutional, or any other quote that got you ticked off because you knew they were stretching the truth.
Also, anybody who is good at photo shop, I still want some funny clips of Iggy skiing down a hill or Layton snorkeling. Iggy in France by the Eiffel Tower would be funny, and Jack speed skating in the Olympics would work as well.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper's generosity in extending the paid winter vacation of MPs by more than a month must be unparalleled in Canadian parliamentary history.
The timing of his announcement, during the busy festive season, made it about as newsworthy as a trip to the washroom.
The intentional suspending of the constitutional obligations of the Opposition, even though it represents the majority of Canadian electors, forestalls any continuing debate on issues Harper would rather not discuss.

This measure is used to obtain confessions from detainees. "
In 2005, another report shows that military, police and intelligence services are involved in arbitrary arrests, kidnappings, extortion cases, cases of torture and killings of individuals suspected of having committed crimes. The paper also reported cases of rapes of women, girls and boys by the police commanders and their troops.

Despite warnings from Canadian diplomats, the Paul Martin government has nonetheless signed an agreement with the Afghan government in December 2005, to deliver to the Afghan authorities and non-Americans to all prisoners captured by Canadian soldiers.

I’m also trying to find the first interview with Christopher White on Evan Solomon’s Power & Politics, where when asked whom he voted for (or something similar) he said he spoiled his ballot, whereas today on QP, when asked if he’s a card-carrying member of the Liberal Party, he said something to the effect that he’s voted for different parties in different elections.
So did he spoil his ballot or did he vote?

ReplyDeleteBy the comments by the media talking heads it appears that is where they are, especially referring to the 4 month prorogation by Chretain.
They have to be referring to that when they mention 4 months as the PM did it for 15 sitting days.
And Craig saying on QP today that it is shut down for the winter. When is winter officially over, I think it is way past Mar 3.

The scariest thing is that all those students signing on to that FB page can't count, and they are in university. They think they are intelligent and understand what is going on.

ReplyDeleteI used both your photo shopped images of Iggy for the video, and my 16 year old showed me a bit about photo shopping, he helped me do one of Jack scuba diving, it looks funny, but it gets the message across I hope.
Next video will be about the mysterious appearances of the opposition at the Olympics when they are supposed to be at work in Ottawa. So any Olympic themed pictures will be great.
I want to thank everyone who has given me so many ideas and links that I couldn't use them all, this time. The short one is ready, but I want Sandy to give me some advise before it goes on You tube. The longer version will be easy now that I have all the resources to draw from.
Start thinking about what should go into the Olympic version. Don has given us a great start with the NDP Layton speed skating. I want to save that one as a show piece!
