Imagine!

The new Parliament will be called to order tomorrow, and I can't wait.

Imagine, 4 years of quiet, competent rule by the Conservative government.
Imagine, no more opposition ruled committees yelling contempt.
Imagine, the media having no more mini-scandals to report.
Imagine, no more gun registry.
Imagine, no more Wheat board monopoly
Imagine, a budget being passed without opposition stupidity.
Imagine, special interest groups having to fund raise instead of sucking the blood out of taxpayers.
Imagine, real support for Israel, not faux lefty support.
Imagine, Canada continuing to gain respect internationally because of our strong leader.
Imagine, lefties without power for the first time in many people's lives.
Imagine, section 13 gone.
Imagine, criminals actually doing time for their crimes.

Imagine, the media just reporting, not pontificating
Imagine, no more lefties. HA! Feel free to add to the list, I'm sure I've missed some important ones, like: Imagine no more left trolls, excluding SQ because she seems to have a crush on me, she just can't leave me alone. I sense a lonely soul.

Imagine, how wonderful the next 4 years are going to be for Conservatives. Imagine!!!

  5. OT, but yesterday I went to a meet and greet with one of the candidates running for Premier of Alberta.
First shock, the voting will be like last time, you can walk in off the street, buy a membership and vote. The only change is a longer period between first and second ballot. There has been no date set yet for the vote, and you will be asked to list your choices.'
About 10 people were there, not a good sign for PC support in this area.
The next shock for me was foreign doctors. I did not know that a canadian citizen, who chooses to take his/her medical training in a major facility in another country-Mayo-England etc, is considered a foreign doctor if they want to come back and practice in Canada. They are subject to the same roadblocks as someone of another nationality.
Lots of other problems were discussed re health care in Canada and who is putting up the roadblocks. It is not the politicians.
Medical associations have to get rid of some of their entitlements and get with the 21st century.

This says everything about maryT that you need to know. BTW, maryT, where is Mayo?

  7. If SQ doesn't know where the Mayo Clinic is it shows his absolute ignorance.
Hey SQ, mayo is not in the fridge.

  10. Great moments in comedic movie history:

Airline pilot, Captain Oveur, while at the airport terminal on the phone with the Mayo Clinic, the operator breaks in:

Operator: "Excuse me, Captain Oveur, but I have an emergency call on line 5 from a Mr. Hamm".

Captain Oveur: "Alright, give me Hamm on 5, hold the Mayo."

  11. Mary T reveals herself as the racist bumpkin she is with "foreign trained" doctor comment. Sheesh.

  12. What in THEE heck is "racist" about the term "foreign-trained doctors"?

My doctor is foreign-trained. He came from Cape Town, South Africa. Is that racist? He's also white of Dutch extraction. Is that racist? Or would it only be racist if he were black?

Next to the word "sustainable", I think use of the word "racist" should be made illegal.

Excuse my French, but Martin, are you really that pissy? Good grief.

  14. What is racist re foreign trained doctors. I was just surprised to learn, from Doug Horner, that canadian medical students, studying in another country, at a top notch facility are considered foreign doctors if they want to come back to Canada to practice.
Apparently a foreign doctor is anyone who has not trained in a Canadian facility.
And I bet I am not the only one who didn't know that.

  16. Just had a long talk with someone on the committee to recruit doctors for AB and Canada. And, yes, anyone not trained in Canada is considered a foreign doctor. If they come back to Canada to practice they must redo their internship and pass all the rules and regulations of a non canadian seeking to come here to practice.
There are 5 countries they attempt to recruit from, Ireland, England, South Africa and the USA. He forgot where the 5th country is.

  17. Austrailia. British Commonwealth nation trained doctors are fast tracked into practice in Canada.
