Will You Remember Them?

I will remember our 4 RCMP officers gunned down by a fanatic. Our judges failed those 4 men and our society. They allowed a mentally deranged man out, time after time, and it finally caught up with our police, not the judges. I hope that every judge that gave Roscoe a light sentence, lies awake at night, thinking about how they could have prevented the massacre.

What brought that remembrance on? Sort of Political pointed out a great tribute to another fallen 4, this time from Washington.

Watching the RCMP marching was awesome. Those red surge uniforms stand out in a crowd of blue, but they were there to show respect, and they did a great job.

I salute our RCMP, police and fire fighters. I include our Canadian troops in Afghanistan,

No need to capitalize all three words, S.Q.

Thank You RCMP, we are proud. Thank You Washington Troopers for your sacrifice, you serve and protect.

Being on the West Coast, the Washington State radio stations that I listen too, all had live reports or continuing coverage of the service. They all thanked Canada for sending the RCMP.

I didn't realize how large a delegation it was. WOW

How much did we spend to send 1000 Mounties to a funeral?

Eskimo: That is the correct way to identify their uniforms. Check it out...

Better to spend the money on the R.C.M.P. than cap and trade.

Hey. Did you know the long gun registry was key in solving these murders?

Two men were brought to justice, and the long gun registry played a role in that.

Wrong again Gayle. It was limp-wristed soft on crime liberal policies that have been in place for years that put the 4 officers in jeopardy in the first place.

Yes, two men were brought to justice, but they were only Roscoe's patsys. The 4 RCMP's are still dead and the legal/justice system failed them because of the perpetual second chances that are given to criminals.

I don't think the spelling is the salient point - so what if Hunter spelled it "surge". This sort of silly nit picking puts me in mind of a lady at my old church: we were at a very nice place for lunch after worship and I commented that the salad bar was terrific. She replied with: I'm allergic to tomatoes. Uh, so what? There was a whole salad bar with lots of other stuff but she just had to mention that she was allergic to tomatoes. Totally pointless.

As for the gun registry: it cost way more than originally planned and along the way, the overspending was approved. That should not have happened. More importantly, however, although the registry might do some good, think about this: what percentage of murders are commited with registered guns? And, really, once a person is dead, what does the registry matter? The person is dead - nothing is going to bring him back, registry or not.
