Nothing! I was in BC for the last two days, (my new teeth are beautiful, thanks to my favorite brother-in-law dentist!) and I read no paper, didn't go online to see what was happening, and talked to family about issues like, what flowers to plant where, how a neighbour of theirs had suffered a massive heart attack, and how we were all going to drive to Vancouver for a 50th wedding anniversary.
Sure we mentioned policies briefly, but seriously no-one cares about politics until an election is called, and even then most couldn't be bothered to get out and vote.
It was a refreshing change to be away from the blogsphere, until I was waiting in Vancouver for my Air Canada, Edmonton flight. Great big screen showing the CBC news, get on the plane, CBC news. Brainwashing 101, especially for new Canadians.
My own family doesn't visit my blog because they have better things to do, like work, go for walks to stay healthy, and try to decide what colour of paint looks best on their house. By the way, that was one of the mentions of the federal government, the credit for renovations, everyone loves that one! Especially my nephew who has started a refrigeration and heating company, he's so busy putting in energy efficient furnaces/air conditioners that he will soon be hiring. Now, that is a stimulus package, that Canadians have been able to get behind! I want more stimulus that directly impacts Canadians.
This EI BS we are seeing by the opposition parties, it's just political blather trying to get votes. I have been working since I was sixteen, I took time off for university, but worked two jobs every 4 month break to save enough to put myself through without debt. I took 2 months off work for my first child and 9 months off for my second child, that's it.
Maybe the government should start giving tax credits for people who have paid into EI for years without taking anything back, and stop rewarding the deadbeat EI abusers. How's that for a tax credit 92% of employed Canadians could get behind.
Give tax credits for contributing to EI, but not using it! All opposition parties want EI given to people who have worked only 3 months, how about we give a tax credit to all those people who have contributed to EI for years, and seldom made a claim? Is that too radical? Reward the productive.

Gimme, Gimme, ....
Got You! It's the game politicians play with voters. If you do not get a project in your region, it's a got you! If you get a project in your area, it's a gimme!
We got one of those gimmie projects in Edmonton Kingsway, former home of Annie, get our guns the creator of the gun registry. There was no reason to build a military office beside the airport, but they did. Now we have a dozen people rattling around in a huge building doing nothing. But it is in former Deputy Prime Minister Anne's riding so it must have been a great contribution to our military. NOT! It is the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. Maybe at night they train cadets to be soldiers, other than that, I see no reason for it, except for Liberal votes. That day is dead, but a useless federal building lives on in her former riding. What a waste!
Gimmie, Gimmie, Got You. This is the opposition trying to pretend that they are OUTRAGED that people need to wait two weeks to qualify for EI, forgetting that the Conservatives have extended the benefits by 5 weeks. The Liberals also conveniently forget that they removed and spent 54 BILLION in the EI fund. This makes the Conservative spending over the next 2 years seem like small potatoes.
Gimie, Gimmie, Got You... Quebec, the whole province is on a teat sucking mission, and they are so arrogant they think they deserve more funds from the ROC. Grow up or separate. Think of what 8 billion in health care could do if we didn't have to pay it to Quebec. No matter how much previous governments did for Quebec, they still wanted more, like Oliver Twist. They are Robin Hood stealing from the ROC thinking they somehow deserve it because they speak French, which makes them "special".
Gimmie, Gimmie, Got You...Special interest groups who think the government has to save their inefficient butts because they printed a paper 8 years ago about the mating habits of single women in the urban jungle.
Gimmie, Gimmie, Got You.... Environmentalists who run around yelling the sky is falling, and refuse to tell the truth. The world is presently cooling not warming. They don't dare tell the average citizen that little fact because it would mean that they get no more funding. They are arrogant little fools who think they know better than everyone else about how to save our planet, yet they fly in carbon spewing planes to tell us that deniers should be jailed.
Gimmie, Gimmie, Got you...lefties have ideas, but no talent for implementing them. They are the ultimate losers. They are good at preaching to us, not so great in making us believe in their new green program.
Gimmie, Gimmie........ We got you!

NDP Gone Wild!
I saw it, but I wasn't sure what the heck was going on. NDP MP Mulcair went wild during Members Statements.
Then I read this post:
Civilized Dialogue - The Thomas Mulcair Story
Thomas Mulcair, the lone NDP MP from Quebec, probably has his days numbered after this incident. This is one of those *where to begin* cases for me, and it really looks badly on all parties in the House.
I went looking for the tape of the incident, and here it is:
You can't see much of what is happening, but you can hear the disruption, and finally the Speaker of the House, tells the Member from Outremont to settle down. It's pretty clear Mulcair lost it big time.
Call it our sixth sense, but women need it to sniff out who might be just a little bit "off", and Mulcair has never passed my sniff test.
What is clear is that Mulcair might have been passionate about what he was talking about, but anger management should be a required course for some MP's, from all parties.
