Liberals Being Ethical!

Not sure why my last post didn't get through on Blogging Tories, but I spent all day getting these videos done and on Youtube, so I will try again.

Here's a summary, day one of the Ethics Committee, Elections Canada is on the hot seat and the Conservatives are scoring points, left, right and center. This is not what the opposition parties expected, they are caught with their pantyhose around their ankles.

See this post for the related videos!

Working into the wee hours of the morning, the opposition develops a plan for day two.

1. Mayrand obviously contacts Committee Chair Liberal MP Szabo and complains about the abuse he got at the hands of the Conservatives. He takes the "fifth". Everything is now related to his appearance before a real court on real charges, and he has just realized that. It appears the Liberal Chair couldn't protect him from his own lack of evidence against the Conservative questions. So, Liberal Szabo tells all committee members they can not ask any questions related to the current court proceeding. Hello, didn't you think of that BEFORE you asked the witness to appear? Szabo is clearly incompetent. See video one.

2. Because Conservative members are clearly still gaining ground and showing Canadians that ALL parties do the same things, and that Mayrand has 5 made up "facts" that are ridiculous, the opposition, led this time by NDP Martin, call a motion to limit questions to Mayrand. They want to shut it down after the current round, the Conservatives still have questions and want 8 more rounds. The Conservative motion is defeated, the opposition motion passes (they have the majority vote). Say bye-bye to Mayrand, no more questions for Elections Canada. Disgusting behaviour by the opposition. See video two.

3. If that isn't enough, the list of potential witnesses is presented, and the first thing Szabo does is strick every single Conservative witness from the list, oh, he forgets one, but ever helpful NDP Martin adds that name to the list, so they are good to go. Liberal Jennings calls non-confidence on the Liberal Chair, which means all discussion is stopped and a vote must take place, then she changes her vote, so that the dirty unprincipled Liberals get to strike every single Conservative witness off the list!!! This was totally planned because Jennings for an earlier motion called non-confidence and was told to "pay attention", she obviously had the wrong motion, and her motion was all of a sudden, ignored by "rule" abiding Szabo.

The final icing on the cake, or puffin poop exposing, was when Jennings called for the end of the session before Conservative MP Scott Reid's motion for an independent inquiry into Elections Canada could be voted on. That's why you hear him yelling at Szabo in the third video.

All in all, it was a disgusting display of how the opposition parties have been operating in just about every committee in Parliament for the last two and a half years. Canadians watching no matter what political stripe had to be disgusted with how the Conservatives were trampled on by the opposition parties. They showed their devious little lefty minds, and it was ugly, but lefties will tell you it was democratic HA.

Choose Your Liberal

In one corner we have Dan McTeague, in the other we have Bill Graham, choose your Liberal! The Brenda Martin case needs to be closed, and yet the Dion Liberals continue to yap. So watch this, and see who takes the principled approach.

The Liberal's should have kept Bill Graham as the leader, he understands the difference between grandstanding and principles.

Where have all the good Liberal's gone lately? I actually liked ex-PM Martin, I thought he would make a good PM, and keep our budget balanced, but I was sadly mistaken, he was not a leader, just a good finance Minister. Bill Graham was a good leader, and now that he is out of politics, continues to be balanced.

Then we have McTeague, he's really out of control and it's obvious that Dion can't rein him in. Add, Thibault, Holland, Coderre, Fry, and LeBlanc, to name only a few, and you have Liberal MP's out of control and only in it for themselves. It's really quite embarrassing for the party.

Choose your Liberal, carefully, they might be representing you!

Mexico Not Bowing To Pressure.

I feel for Brenda Martin and what is happening to her, BUT, she made the choice to challenge the Mexican courts, and is losing. Basically, I think she made the mistake of thinking that Mexico was as liberal as Canada, and that she had the same human rights there as she would have here.

Bernier to discuss jailed Canadian with Mexico

National media attention has thrown Martin's case into the spotlight and the Canadian government reacted to public scrutiny last week by issuing a diplomatic note of protest to Mexico. The note was issued days after Martin learned her constitutional challenge -- which stated her human rights had been violated -- was rejected by the Mexican courts.

According to the judge's ruling, Martin's human rights -- including access to a translator while being interviewed by police and during court appearances -- had not been violated. The judge also stated Martin had confessed to her crimes.
(From what I understand she has been in Mexico for ten years, does she not know the language yet?)

So, not only is she involved in a criminal trial, she has also initiated a constitutional challenge. It was the constitutional challenge that was denied. Right or wrong, the judge ruled on the matter, and if she persists, she will spend more time behind bars.

Martin's lawyer, Guillermo Cruz Rico, said Sunday her case is something new for him as he has never seen a constitutional challenge handled in such a way.

After reviewing the judge's ruling, he said only evidence from one side was considered in the decision.

"After we reviewed the ruling we decided to appeal the decision," Cruz said, adding Martin had given him permission to do so despite proclaiming last week she would not.

Maybe some lawyer out there can help me understand how appealing the decision is going to get her released from prison sooner. Either she is getting bad advise, or she is naive, or both.

Finally, why is one hysterical women important enough for the Prime Minister to intervene with the President of Mexico?

However, Martin's friend and advocate, Deb Tieleman, said she believes the only way the former resident of Trenton, Ont., is going to be released is if Prime Minister Stephen Harper intervenes.

This might be harse, but you go to another country, you better abide by their laws, and just because you have a Canadian passport, do not expect to get rescued, expect help, but don't expect our laws and human rights to apply in other countries.
