Liberals, Digging Up The Dead!

I find it interesting how the Liberals can always find some retired public servant to spout Liberal nonsense and they become an instant "expert" in the eyes of the MSM.

Take this guy for instance:

Retired assistant deputy minister of materials Alan Williams — an expert who is hard to dismiss — took the parliamentary stand on Wednesday afternoon to denounce the lack of competition for $9-billion worth of fighter jets as likely to squander billions of tax dollars and lost business opportunities. Mr. Williams warned Defence Minister Peter MacKay’s logic on the F-35 file is “flawed,” and he’s taking public positions that “insults our intelligence.”

This is no opposition cheap shot.

This comes from a 33-year public servant who signed the memorandum of understanding in 2002 committing Canada to $100-million in funding to develop the F-35 stealth fighter. He’s even written a book on the subject: Reinventing Canadian Defence Procurement: A View From The Inside.

WOW! The guy was the one who signed Canada up for the F-35, now he's saying he didn't really mean to spend 100 million on research only? Are you kidding me? And Don (I want to be a TV host) Martin called him an expert? Expert in wasting our money maybe. They dug this guy up from the dead, labeled him an "expert", and we are supposed to think that he never in 33 years signed a non-compete deal? Give me a break.

“In terms of the individual you are talking about, his advice was very different at the time that he was actually paid to give it,” sniffed Mr. Harper during a brief media chat in Winnipeg.
SNIFFED?? Seriously? Was Martin writing this from his favorite Liberal bar? Martin obviously thinks he is writing a romance novel where Williams is being rejected by Harper. This whole article is written with the intent by Martin to get that job hosting Powerplay on CTV and smearing our PM is the way to do it with those folks.

Confronted by an insider warning against the sole-sourced purchase of a fighter jet dubbed the Flying Credit Card, a furious Stephen Harper on Thursday chose to attack the whistle-blower — and warn against massive aerospace job losses if opponents continue “playing politics” with the lives of Canadian troops.
Furious and attack, all in one sentence, impressive. Now this guy is a "whistle-blower? The guy who signed the $100 million cheque for the F-35 in the first place? Are you kidding me? He's a whistle blower of what? What is he blowing the whistle on? Liberals misspending 100 million of our taxpayer money? Martin, get your head out of that bottle, stop listening only to Liberals, and start reporting the news, not making it up.

Martin, as an "expert" in watching TV news, I hate to break it to you, but your voice is too juvenile and you look like an elf, not the best attributes a political TV host can have, plus you are too much of a Liberal toady for even CTV. I sniffingly have to tell you, your dreams of a TV career are unrealistic. Funny how everyone was shocked that Duffy was a Conservative, that tells me that he was fair and balanced, not something I would ever accuse Martin of, try running in Alberta as a Liberal MP. Now that would be fun to see. In the meantime, leave the dead alone, they need their rest, and their opinions are irrelevant for today.

Shame on the National Post for printing this garbage article.

Political Shows...Anyone Watching?

When I started to get political, I watched Mike Duffy, CPAC, Question Period, and Don Martin. I listened to radio shows like Rutherford. I went to sites like Rabble, and quickly realized they were practicing freedom of speech, only for lefties. I finally found Free Dominion, and enjoyed commenting there. The first blog I found was Small Dead Animals, and I was instantly captivated by Kate's style. She was and is a refreshing voice for all things political.

I watched, I listened, I commented and finally, I decided to try blogging. I spent years blogging to myself mainly, but it was a great release for me, so I kept at it. Then I made the main page on Blogging Tories, and my page hits went up dramatically. All of a sudden, my voice was being heard! I still take it as a great honour to be a Blogging Tory.

As I evolved politically, I stopped watching political TV shows because of their bias and with a full time job, I just really don't have the time to listen to them. So far, I'm not missing much as far as I can see.

I would like to know what the viewing numbers are for CTV now that Duffy has left. The way they treated him was despicable and probably turned off a lot of people. He was popular until he became a Senator, then the lefties got nasty. Wasn't Liberal PEI involved again in slagging a Conservative? Typical. Same goes for CBC with Martin gone, what are the numbers for the new show? I suspect the viewing audience has diminished quite a bit. Are those numbers available anywhere? Only political junkies really care about these shows.

A typical day in my life, is dog pooling, work, make supper, help with homework, watch the local news, and then blog about something that bugged me that day. Who has time to watch the real Question Period, or any of the political shows? They come on here in Alberta at 3:00 while everyone is still at work. Nice Ontario bias by the networks. So they are catering to the Toronto audience. That is why the Liberal party only wins in Toronto.

Is anyone watching political shows anymore? Maybe the better question is: Why should we?

I Can't Believe I'm Going To Agree With Him...

I didn't think I would ever see the day that I could ever agree with Martin, but it seems with this article I do. This could be an outlier, but for now I will give Martin praise for a well written column.

OTTAWA -- To lift a quip from Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Arctic sovereignty policy and apply it to the American view of Alberta’s oil sands: use it or lose it.

The Chinese government pushed its shovel deep into Canada’s energy motherlode on Monday when it announced a $2-billion stake in a five-billion-barrel reserve of “dirty oil” that Americans increasingly find unworthy of fuelling their vehicles.

The 60% claim by PetroChina in two projects owned by Athabasca Oil Sands Corp., while small compared to the great gobs of capital pouring into oil sands expansion and extraction, are the global giant’s largest investment in Canadian energy yet.

And China usually buys into product it aims to consume.

Sources in Washington predict politicians there will not be pleased at having a massive supply of secure energy on their northern doorstep slipping under Chinese ownership.

Well, too bad.

Exactly, too bad. Why is Chinese ownership bad, but American ownership is okay? Why can American and Dutch companies buy up the oilsands and then decide the oil is too "dirty" for them, yet China's money is somehow "dirty" so they can't invest.

Alberta needs to sell it's oil and if the Obama administration thinks we "stink", then don't complain if we start selling our output to the highest buyer.

To the econuts, fight China on this one why don't you? Tell them how bad the "tarsands" are, and how they shouldn't invest in Canada's "dirty" oil. It's not like they can't get "blood" oil from other countries.

What will Quebec do now that Alberta is a have not province? If all provinces are have not, how can there be a transfer of tax dollars from one region to another? How can equalization work? Seeing how the Bloc are the federal choice in Quebec, maybe they should be made to be accountable for any equalization loses. Let the Bloc explain their policy on how Quebec can leave Canada and still survive. Let the Bloc finally start to pay the bills, instead of mouthing off about how good separation from Canada will be.

Do I want China investing in the oilsands, not really, but if the Americans won't, as they cry about how "dirty" that oil is, than okay, it won't bother me for long. Welcome China, I like your people a lot, just not your political (or lack thereof)system.

Now, didn't PM Harper warn the Americans of the consequences of opening up the free trade agreement? See what protectionism nets you Obamamations? Hey, and Saskatchewan has potash, and oil, this could get interesting.

Supporting Out Troops!

They didn't want to, but with Iggy in hiding and Ruby in trouble, they actually had to cover the PM because he was non-controversial, and supporting our troops is always a good thing.

Watch PM Harper's speech and then make sure you watch the Liberal ex-military expert, Drapeau, funny how they call him Trudeau.

So, CTV thinks Drapeau means Trudeau, I remember Trudeau killing our military. I remember rows and rows of tanks parked on the military base, sitting and rusting while our military was called every name you can imagine. I remember a girl in grade five being shunned because her Dad was in the military, and townies didn't mix with army brats. Thank goodness the families banded together and welcomed them into our community. She is now a Doctor helping people in disadvantaged countries. What snobs we were. Townies thought they were better than our troops. We were (and I suspect still are) snobs. Trudeau made us embarrassed to support our troops, Liberals looked down their noses at the very people who keep our country safe.

Funny how Ruby has disappeared from the main news page, as has Iggy. Here is a snapshot of CTV news on line.

Quiet, apparently nothing is happening in the Liberal party, we are being told by the MSM to ignore anything bad about Liberals, the most disgusting example is an article by Don Martin in the National Post.

Smell all you want Don, but my smell test detects a pig at the Liberal trough.

Our troops deserve respect, and they are smart enough to realize that PM Harper is the real deal, he has made the military a priority, and when you drive around your town, pay attention to all the cars with "support our troops" decals on their bumpers. It's fashionable now to show your support for our troops.

Great job PM Harper, our troops need support, and they can smell out phony people in an instant. While Iggy is hiding, our PM is meeting with the EU to get a trade agreement and supporting our troops, not because it is fashionable, but because he truly believes our troops are heroes.
