Compare and Contrast: Canada Day and G20 Summit.

What an interesting contrast we have between the protesters at the G20 and the crowds for Canada Day.

The G20 protests cost us a billion dollars to keep the leaders safe. Thankfully no bombs were planted or world leaders were hurt on our soil. What we have are the hurt feelings of protesters who couldn't get a veggie meal in the holding pens. What spoiled little brats with nothing better to do than go and protest....what? We needed huge fences to keep the leaders safe from rioters who burned police cars and smashed windows. Unions used their members dues to protest....what? What were our unions protesting?

Now they are protesting the treatment the protesters received from the police. What wimps, they weren't pepper sprayed, no water cannons, no clubbing like they would have faced in Iran. I have no sympathy for any protesters who were detained for the evening. For those innocent people who were caught up in the round-up, sorry. The protesters created a police state in Toronto because of the bombing of the bank before the G20, they are to blame for all the costs, and we should start making them pay damages.

Then in contrast, we have the Queen visiting Canada and she came to Parliament Hill in a horse drawn carriage, no fences, no protesters (cause they would have been creamed by our vets) very little security. A peaceful day, honouring Canada and our Queen.

I loved watching the Queen and all the people who came together to see her and celebrate Canada Day.

Can You Feel The Hate?

Since when did Harper care about millions of people suffering. Harper only cares about his own political interests. He showed a complete lack of empathy when he broke his word and destroyed the savings of a couple of million seniors who believed him when he said he would protect our savings in Income Trusts. Where was his care and consideration on Halloween 2006? Seems he only cares on the world stage...the expensive world stage with the fake lake. For Harper it's all about polls and that elusive majority.

Harper knows how to be decisive, he's proven that in the past, remember how he walked away from the 5 billion dollars the Americans owed us, he just gave it to them (decisively) in the softwood lumber dispute...( we could sure use that money now)

Stevie stevie stevie, are you not the same guy in Oct/08 didn't see a recession was coming. Took us from $13 billion in the black. To now last count, before this $1.1 billion summit, just for security costs, was $56 billion in the red in only two short years. If these G20 guys have any senses they will be running in the other direction. I want my money back.

Harper is unbelievable. Under his "leadership" (or lack thereof) our deficit has never been bigger. What is he talking about? what an idiot. Is he just hoping to make massive cuts in Canada and pretend its required under terms of the summit. We really need a leader with a brain for a change.

I wonder if Wendy/Kim/Sue/Mary are all the same wacky wonders? Could it be post-abortion disorder? Or are these Harper Haters that stupid? I wonder when the human rights commissions are going to clamp down on these idiots. Oh, right they probably work for them.

Are most Canadians listening? Nope. I watched no TV this weekend, and only had time to read the blogging tories for a few minutes. I was out enjoying the beautiful weather, and pulling weeds from my eco-garden. I think Wendy/Kim/Sue/Mary need to get all their various personalities together, and get out of their parents basement.

If the left had a clue, they would get on PM Harper for his talk about a global economy. The G8/G20 was marred by violence, and all protesters are going to be tarred by the same brush, but their should welcome that, after all their are all about the collective, not the individual.

World Class Toronto......

Or not! So far all I have seen reported from the center of the universe, Toronto, is that they do not want the G20 meeting there.

Why not? They didn't seem to have a problem when the unions stunk the city up with garbage. The Tamil Tiger protests shut down huge parts of Toronto, and that was okay, but world leaders coming to Toronto is a problem?

Has Toronto forgotten that trade with these countries is important to Canada? Maybe Toronto should twin up with Haiti instead, they can trade union eggheads for sandy beaches. Haiti needs the business, and nobody will miss some lefty union activists.

Lorne Gunter: If G20 leaders insist on continuing to meet, let them go to a remote base

You say you like the idea of Canada being in charge of the summit every once in a while. Then we could use CFB Suffield in Alberta. It’s 1,500-square kilometres of prairie used by British and Canadian armies to train for desert tank combat. Aside from a few thousand antelope, there is no one around,so no one to toss a Molotov cocktail and no window to toss it at. Sure, Suffield doesn’t have a full-length runway, but one could be built for far less money than the $1B+ being spent to host the Toronto meeting.

I've been to Toronto, but it is years ago, it was cold, impersonal, and culture-less. I don't imagine that much has changed. The money being spent is going to Canadians. We will see beyond the artless scenes to the benefits, but bland, is bland.

If It Saves Even ONE Life, It Will Be Worth It!

Where have we heard that recently? Anyone? How about a standard lefty response to why the gun registry should not be scrapped. One billion and counting, and no proof that the registry has saved even one life. Now, one billion, hummm, where have I heard that today? Oh, right, security for the G8 and G20, is going to cost one billion (give or take a few million).

Going with lefty thinking....If it saves even ONE life, it will be worth it! That's not what they are saying? What, do they want protesters to burn more buildings? How about a suicide terrorist getting close enough to blow some diplomats up? Isn't a billion worth their safety?

OTTAWA–Gun-control advocates say they are horrified and fearful that Canada's long-gun firearms registry is on the verge this week of being scrapped because the Conservatives may have enough support from the opposition to kill it.

Horrified and fearful??? Oh, grow up Susan Delacourt. Who is she quoting? None other than ....
Wendy Cukier, president of the Coalition for Gun Control, says her organization has been monitoring the progress of a Conservative private member's bill to abolish the registry and is now bracing for it to clear an important vote in the Commons on Wednesday.
I would provide a link to Coalition for Gun Control, but I find it a creepy, still living in the 80's, blame everyone but the criminal site. You can find it for yourselves if you feel compelled to go there. It's about as enjoyable and biased as Rabble.

Seriously we are supposed to listen to Coo-kier? If the lefties feel gun control is the way to save lives, then they should be thrilled that the government is spending money to make sure that at the G8 and G20, the only ones with guns will be the security forces.

Personally, I don't like the billion plus a YEAR that goes to the CBC, or the billion for the gun registry, or the billion for security during the G8/G20. Make the protesters pay for the costs of the extra security. After all, Ann Coulter had to pay for her protection against the lefty mob at the U of Losers. Why not make the protesters pay?

Freedom of speech, but not freedom of destruction. You break it, you pay for it!

Too Tired To Think!

I was busy all day; planting flowers, making potato salad, and doing some work with the puppy, so this will be a short post, as I am bone tired.

I think PM Harper is doing an excellent job of representing our country. I have a deep respect for his ability to unite the right and make it work. (and to my trolls, NO that does not mean I am sexually attracted to him, idiots) The left is babbling on about the "religious" right take over of the PMO. Bad Christians, you have morals, and therefore can not have a voice.

I have never gone over to some lefties blog and told them what they should believe. I could care less what they believe, unless it impacts me and my family. I can not understand why lefties feel compelled to come to Conservative blogs and try to "straighten" our thinking out. Why do they bother if we are so wrong?

As summer approaches, the media will have nothing to write about on the political scene, except PM Harper and the G8/G20. I wonder what stupid scandal the Liberals will come up with to take any positive attention away from the Conservatives. Hey Conservative MP's, be extra careful now, the Liberal media are on a hunt for some 30 year old video of you drinking a beer.

With the media losing their power, and the lefties wondering around bumping into each other, I predict next election gives the Conservatives a majority. Voters are not as dumb as the MSM and lefties think they are, so bring it on, I'm getting bored with faux scandals, and opposition incompetence. Wait until the fall though, our summers are way too short to be wasting them going door knocking.

PM Harper, an outstanding political mind and principled family man. We are very lucky for his leadership right now, look at Greece, or Quebec and you can see where we might have been without Preston Manning and now, PM Harper.

G20 Leaders Respect PM Harper!

Amazing how PM Harper misses a photo-op and the G20 leaders quickly arrange a new one. It made international news, and had President Obama shaking PM Harper's hand.

Nice to see a bit of fun was had and all to the benefit of Canada. PM Harper did an excellent job of representing Canada. It is a real feather in our caps that the recommendations that Canada and India put forward were accepted by the G20. Not that the Canadian media noticed it. What silly sniveling babies. They thought showing PM Harper in a bad light by missing the photo-op they would score points at home, turns out most Canadians could care less, they have mostly tuned the media out, that's why the MSM revenues are dropping.

Harper misses G20 group photo, gets 2nd chance

Forget the economy, the big question Thursday at the G20 summit is: Where was Prime Minister Stephen Harper for the group photo?

Was he really, as he claims, being briefed by his officials on the draft G20 communique?

Or was he de-briefing himself "in the loo?" as first reported by the BBC.

Because Harper missed the group picture, the whole routine had to be restaged about an hour later.

The poor Canadian MSM, they had to make a huge story out of a missed photo-op. Read the comments, most posters tell the MSM to grow up.

What could have been an interesting story would have been what Laureen and the kids were up to. What a great story that would have made. Nope, the media sat back and whined about how they were getting no interviews with PM Harper, so they sat in the corner sucking their thumbs. The liberal loving media are just like Iggy, it's all about me, me, me. If they have to make Canada look bad on the international stage to make PM Harper look bad, they will do everything they can to make it so, they hate Conservatives that much.

Too bad this whole episode actually made PM Harper look more human, not like the robot they try to portray. Too bad President Obama (their idol) made a point of acknowledging PM Harper's presence at the second photo-op, arranged especially because PM Harper had been missed. Too bad the lefty media made themselves look like fools by disrespecting our Prime Minister.

Too bad for lefties that is, they are the ones left looking like fools.
