Premiers Are Lost Little Kittens.

On the issue of health care, the Premiers have been given a blank slate by the federal government. They have been left confused without direction from the feds.

They do not seem to understand that health care is a provincial responsibility. They are refusing to take that responsibility and own it. They want the federal government to guide them.

Personally, I think the Premiers were happy to have the federal government intrude on their domain because they could then pretend it was the feds that were keeping provinces from providing good health care to Canadians. Now, they have to own it!

OTTAWA - Canada's premiers will spend the next two days trying to find a common front to present to Ottawa over health care.
Provincial and territorial leaders are in Victoria, B.C. for 36 hours of strategizing in the wake of the federal government's unilateral move to lay out the health funding framework.
But the premiers are divided along broad east-west lines over whether they like the deal, with provinces such as Ontario balking at the arrangement.
In December, Ottawa short-circuited what were expected to be lengthy negotiations over health transfers to the provinces by dictating the terms - transfers would continue to grow by 6% annually until 2017. They would then be tied to economic growth including inflation, likely around 4%.
"That completely changed the dynamic," said the University of Ottawa's Patrick Fafard, noting the provinces, instead of uniting over squeezing extra cash from Ottawa, now have to confront more illusive targets.

The provinces are so used to whining to the feds that they are in shock that they have been given the health care money without any strings attached. This makes them responsible for their own health care spending, and it scares them because they will have no-one to blame but themselves for longer wait times, no family doctors, etc.

Grow some balls Premiers, you wanted the job, now solve your own provinces problems, without crying to the feds for everything. Your whining grates on my nerves, and makes you look like lost little kittens.

To My American Friends, Kill The Bill!

You are in for a world of pain if this health care bill passes. My family knows this from experience.

The last time I saw a doctor was when my 14 year old son was born, the only reason I was lucky enough to get a doctor was because I was in a high risk category. My family doctor retired, and no-one took his place, so I have been without a family doctor for over 16 years. My kids doctor retired, and no-one took his place, so my children have been without a doctor for 6 years. This is government health care, which you are about to get. You do not want it, ever.

Yes, everyone in Canada is covered, but that means that no-one really gets good care. It's not our doctors and nurses fault, it is the socialist philosophy that is at fault.

We have medi-centers, we have long, long wait lists for hip replacements (years), and every other procedure you might need, but it's all "free". Excuse me, it's not "free", the productive workers pay for it, and the unproductive abuse it. You get money deducted from your cheque for health care, and then if you want an upgrade you pay more, but you do not get more.

Once you have government health care, you can never change it because no party will touch it with a ten foot pole. It's like here in Canada where we have NO abortion law, so a woman can get an abortion as the baby is being delivered. It doesn't happen often, but it can, because no political party will touch the issue.

We do not have a two tier system here because politicians and special interest groups yell about only the rich will benefit. Funny how Danny Williams, a premier (Governor to you) went to the US to get treatment for his heart. Why? Your system is superior to ours, but even Williams won't admit it, yet he used it.

Think about our system. All doctors fight for time in our hospitals for surgery. This creates huge wait times. If the same doctor could perform surgeries in his office, our wait times would disappear. Right now, a doctor might get two hours a week in surgery. If they could have their own surgery units, that same doctor could have 30 hours in surgery, and our wait times would be decreased. Unfortunately, our politicians will never change this because our lefties/MSM would scream and shout so loud, no-one would support it.

So, I hope that your health care bill will not pass, you need to go back to the drawing board, this bill is downloading the cost of health care to your states. Our provinces are spending close to 50% on health care alone, and they are still crying for more money. It's an endless black hole of spending.

Sadly America has lost it's way and is now lost. It's not just about the health bill that has been passed, although it is going to be a huge problem for Americans. I am very sad about what is happening to the great nation next door to us.

House Passes Health Care Bill

BREAKING NEWS - In a victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed landmark health care legislation Saturday night to expand coverage to tens of millions who lack it and place tough new restrictions on the insurance industry. Republican opposition was nearly unanimous.

One Republican voted for the bill. All I can say is welcome to a socialist medical program like Canada. Get ready to wait in long lineups for any procedure and to pay for everyone with a sniffle. You will pay, they will not.

Health care is only one aspect of the decline of America, the other is how the murderer, Major Nidal Hasan has been portrayed in the media. They just can't seem to say TERRORIST. Let me help them, the guy is a TERRORIST! How else to you describe 13 dead and over 30 injured? Or will MURDERER make everyone feel better?

Look, the guy emptied out his apartment, bought some guns, and jumped on a table to better shoot his victims in the back, what do you want to call him? Lefties will probably call him a "freedom fighter", after all he was scheduled to go over to Iraq and he didn't agree with either the Iraq or Afghanistan wars. Poor baby, maybe he should have headed to Canada where our lefties would have welcomed him with open arms as a "draft dodger"...oops they don't have the draft anymore. Welcome him as a refugee I guess, seeing as America is such a bad place to live that everyone wants to live there.

The guy is nuts. I had one date with a budding psychologist during my university days, he was also nuts. He kept phoning me and telling me I was nuts not to go out with him again. I swear they go into psychology to help cure themselves.

Political correctness is killing democracy. You can not say anything against a minority group without being slammed about being racist. If I was to say that the 70+ Tamils who arrived on a boat should just be sent back, I'm going to be labeled as a racist. How about stating that Islam treats women like slaves? That might get you slapped down by your MP. It's not very politically correct to slam any minority about anything they might do, and that gives them more power than the average Canadian. They are busy abusing that power, remember Levant's problems with a minority person? Why should that person have more power than a Canadian, just because they are a minority?

I am sick and tired of supporting illegal immigrants who think that Canada is meant to be milked for all we have. I am tired of being politically correct. Let me give you an example.

I foster dogs who might go to a blind person. Don't let this shock you, but all blind people are not necessarily nice. Some of them are quite abusive to the dogs. Just because you are blind does not mean that you are a good person. Just because you are are Muslim or Christian doesn't mean that you are a good person. Why can't we state that without being called racist? It is because of the lefty philosophy that minority votes win them power. They could care less if a person is white, black or purple as long as they vote for them. The way they get the votes is to encourage division. East/West, rural/urban, French/English, anything that might win them votes. Sad really.

America is in trouble, only Americans can fix it. I hope they get it right next election.

Really, the lefties are scared of Palin so they attack her and her family, even though she isn't a Governor anymore. I guess that's fair in politics to attack her, but they should leave the family out of it.

but when ordinary Americans try it, they are unAmerican, Astroturfers and besides that, they are too well dressed to be real protesters. That is what the lefties do, they hire protesters, usually homeless people, so they expect the same slimy behaviour from their opponents. They can not understand that these are real Americans, who are concerned about their health care.

As a last resort, they swear and name call, like my little trolls. Dim bulbs.

Robin Hood Rides Again!

When I was little, I loved the idea of Robin Hood, stealing from the rich to give to the poor. Back in the day, he would have been a hero because the poor were truly oppressed and mistreated by the rich. It was a feel good fairy tale, it still is, but Obama seems to think it's a good idea for the US.

WASHINGTON -- House Democrats scrambling for ways to pay for overhauling health care would raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans to levels not seen since the 1980s, breaking one of President Barack Obama's campaign pledges.

....The plan would honor Obama's campaign promise not to raise taxes on families making less than $250,000. But it would break an Obama pledge that no one -- including the wealthy -- would pay higher taxes than they did in the 1990s. The pledge, as listed on Obama's campaign Web site, was: "No family will pay higher tax rates than they would have paid in the 1990s."

Democrats argue that high-income families fared well under President George W. Bush's two terms as their taxes dropped and their incomes soared, giving them the ability to absorb higher taxes. Republicans argue that the tax increases would hurt small business owners who typically pay their business taxes on their individual returns.

Rep. Charles Rangel, chairman of tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, called the plan "the moral thing to do."

"This innovative bill provides a uniquely American solution to control costs and put patients first without burdening future generations with debt," the New York Democrat said.

Legally steal from the rich to give to the poor. Make the rich pay for the increased costs of the health system. This works because the poor are envious, and feel entitled to their entitlements. Can you say you have not felt envious when you see someone driving a Lexus? How about driving through an upper class neighbourhood and seeing those huge houses with pools and tennis courts? Don't you feel jealous? Don't you want to be those people, live in their houses and not have to worry about money anymore? Have you ever bought a lottery ticket hoping to win those millions? We have all done that at one time or other.

The problem is that you need to work for those "things". No-one has the "right" to a house, or a job. You want to earn $350,000 a year, get an education and work for it. You want "free" health care, be prepared to pay extra taxes. The problem is that taking from the rich is not "the moral thing to do". What is moral about taking from the people who are productive and giving it to the non-productive. We have heard about the brain drain, this is going to cause a tax drain. Those with money are going to hide it off shore, and/or move to greener pastures.

Currently, the top marginal income tax rate is 35 percent. Obama wants to let some tax cuts enacted under Bush expire, boosting the top rate to 39.6 percent in 2011. The new health care taxes would increase the top rate to 45 percent.

House Republican leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, called the bill a job killer that would result in rationed care, fewer choices for patients and diminished quality.

Think about paying 45% in marginal income tax, then add in all the other taxes like property taxes. The poor can not move, the rich can and they will. Socialism tries to make all people suffer equally. It is based on envy and greed. Socialism punishes achievers, and the independently minded people who have ideas and start companies. Unions are a prime example. They want to take from the rich corporations and give to themselves. Socialism kills societies.

Robin Hood, in this day and age, would not be a hero, he would be a manipulator who whats you to think that everyone has the right to take what was never yours.
