Mediagate Or NOT!

As predictable as gas prices rising before a long weekend, we get mediagate! We get the media shrills yapping about how PM Harper's Conservative government is reducing democracy. Every time the polls show Canadians supporting the Conservatives, we get a new "gate", I guess this one will be called the Odagate or democracygate, or Harpergate, or... the list is endless.

How about we call it mediagate? It makes perfect sense to me, because it is the media that is shouting about all these "gates". It is the media making a "NOT" into an international issue, an "I don't know" into a RCMP mission, or a disagreement with a bureaucrats recommendation into a full blown inquiry. Take a pill all you lefties. Seriously, you are out of control, without direction, and nobody really cares about what "gate" you like this week. You have cried wolf too often, nobody is listening to you anymore.

Government secrecy hampering MPs' jobs: Page

Parliament is being asked to vote on a major crime bill without a clear idea of how much it could cost taxpayers, Canada's budget watchdog said Tuesday.

The Conservative government's secrecy is hampering parliamentarians' ability to evaluate new legislation, Kevin Page told a House of Commons committee.

He said MPs are losing their ability to perform their constitutionally mandated jobs because of the lack of information available about the cost of new bills.

Oh, the media's darling, never fails to disappoint. He gives the lefties wet dreams of a rise to power, on his very words, they are like music to their ears. Page is upset because HE can't get his grubby little hands on the government budget plans. Poor baby. Poor media, no budget leaks. HA.

One suspects this is because the decision to deny Kairos funding was taken neither by CIDA bureaucrats nor the Minister. This one has the imprimatur of the PMO all over it.

Not that the Harper government has launched the kind of all-out assault on democracy that his critics charge. But there has been a gradual erosion of parliamentary democracy under the Conservatives that the Stephen Harper of six years would have decried.

This journalist should have also pointed out that this is a minority government and the opposition can take it down any time they want. If democracy is at such a risk because the government cut some funding to a religious group (funny how the left is supporting a religious group now), let the opposition do their job, and vote non-confidence in this government. Instead they bleat about a word, and cry to the voting gods to make this "scandal" THE "scandal" that will vault them back into power. If that fails, they always have the fallback position of the coalition! What true and honest gems these parties are against a Minister, who wrote, NOT on a request for 7 million dollars.

Crossing Eygpt Off My Want To Visit List.

I loved the idea of Egypt; camels, mysterious pyramids, ancient historical sites, but now I have no desire ever to visit. I can look at pictures and read books instead.

I have great sympathy for the people of Egypt, they deserve a free and open country as much as everyone else does. Democracy is hard to achieve, and even harder to maintain. Canadians take it for granted. The last threat to our democracy was the Liberal/NDP/Bloc coalition, we too took to the streets in protest, and luckily the Governor General realized that a government that excluded the party with the most votes and the most MP's would be a misrepresentation of voters intentions. Egypt has no such fail safe position. The protesters can force a change of government without Egyptians actually voting for the people that get put into power. They will only be changing one dictator for another, maybe harsher dictator. It will not be a democracy.

Iggy Threatens, Markets Drop!

So, we all know Iggy is threatening an election, over EI. He wants people to work 45 days and get paid for a year. NICE! He has the slackers vote all wrapped up with that one.

Hearing this "threat" the markets fell by over 250 points.

It shows that international markets have no faith in a Liberal government. Oil is on the raise, usually if oil is going up so is the TSX, but today, with the political uncertainty the Liberals unleashed, the markets fell badly after weeks of an upturn.

Liberals stopping the economic recovery in an attempt to gain power. SAD.

Atlantic Canada should be enraged! Iggy obviously doesn't understand the problems our fishing industry faces. Lobsters are selling for pennies a pound, how can they survive? They do not want charity from the Liberals, they want real support for their markets. We are planning a lobster party in support of PEI lobster fishermen. How about the Liberals?? No mention even by Wayne Easter, PEI Liberal MP, he is too busy with making sure hogs are protected. Shame on PEI, the guy is an idiot, you have better people to represent you than this brainless wonder.

Did you know that the Conservatives missed getting a majority by around 9000 votes? Think about that, 9001 more votes would have lead to a Conservative majority, and stopped this ridiculous, an election if necessary, but not necessarily an election BS from the lefties.

There is a coalition of the left, but they are hiding it. If the Liberals win a minority, who are their natural supporters? The NDP and the Bloc. Both will demand huge amounts of money to keep them onside. Quebec is a blood sucking province that the Liberals are pandering to, meaning that they will suck more money out of Ontario and Alberta to gain power.

An election, I don't think so! If they fail to count properly on Friday, election it is, and the Conservatives are going to remind the voters about the coalition attempt to take power. Democracy denied, or democracy perverted.
