Advocacy by an individual or by an advocacy group normally aim to influence public-policy and resource allocation decisions within political, economic, and social systems and institutions; it may be motivated from moral, ethical or faith principles or simply to protect an asset of interest. Advocacy can include many activities that a person or organization undertakes including media campaigns, public speaking, commissioning and publishing research or poll or the 'filing of friend of the court briefs'. Lobbying (often by Lobby groups) is a form of advocacy where a direct approach is made to legislators on an issue which plays a significant role in modern politics.[1]
In other words, special interest groups who suck taxpayers money to do absolutely nothing for the people they are supposed to be helping.
There are several forms of advocacy, which each represent a different approach in the way change is brought into society. One of the most popular forms is social justice advocacy.
There are those words: social justice again, add them to advocacy and you have lefties doing nothing but justifying it as "social justice". Kind of like these 11 organizations:
In recent weeks, the following organizations have been denied funding by Status of Women Canada (SWC): the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity, le Conseil d'intervention pour l'accs des femmes au travail (CIAFT), the Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses, Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW), Rseau des tables rgionales de groupes de femmes du Qubec, the Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation, Action travail des femmes.
Several other key organizations have been denied SWC funding in the last few years, such as the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women, Womenspace, the Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada, the Alberta Network of Immigration Women, Centre de documentation sur l'ducation des adultes et la condition feminine, Association fminine d'ducation et d'action sociale (AFEAS.)
Read the whole article. This is from a magazine called Canadian Business. This article is so biased it is hard to believe a business magazine could print it and expect us to subscribe to their mag, or should I say rag?
I want you to look carefully at the organizations that are receiving funding cuts. Do you even recognize any of these organizations? Have any of you ever been helped by any of these organizations? Have any of you volunteered for any of these organizations? Can anyone explain why these organizations deserve taxpayers money?
Maybe we need to start digging into these organizations and find out what they do besides suck up taxpayers money. I know that I would not donate any of my hard earned money to any of these organizations, so why should they get my money through advocacy to the government?
How would lefties react if they found out the government was giving money to a group called "Canadians for the Preservation of Unborn Babies"? HA, thought so. Lefties can't stand "Real Women" even though they receive NO government money, but other "women's" organizations are more deserving because...... well, they just are. Never mind that they do nothing to actually help any women, except the directors of those bogus organizations.
Let the lefties yell about the lost funding for the Toronto Gay Parade. I have never been to one, and I have no idea why any government would fund any parade, for any reason. You want a parade, raise the funds yourselves. Just because you are gay, does not mean that you are anymore special and worthy of funding than any other group.
Advocacy = Social Justice. Basically as far as I can determine, it means get paid to protest anything you do not like.
By the way has anyone asked radical NDP MP Pat Martin what his assistant was doing at the Ann Coulter protest? The MSM is silent and dying.
I am sick and tired of my money going to groups that I fundamentally disagree with. It is not the job of the government to fund any group or charity. If you have a good charity, like "Kids for Cancer", people will donate money to you. If not, you have no right to suck off of taxpayers.
My Mother's Day Wish, is that all those radical women, who think killing babies in the womb is their right, and that the Taliban beheading women is not their problem, lose all their funding for all their radical organizations. You want to kill babies over in Africa, hold a fund raiser, call it "Killing Babies in Africa", I dare you to come out of the advocacy shadows and really show people what you are, and what you want to do, all in the name of "woman".

Check out "Robin Hood Tax", they keep changing the words but socialism, redistribution of the wealth is the economic model the socialists are demanding.
The NDP, Bloc, Liberals are demanding the middle class pay more consumption taxes to lift the standards of the poor.
If they cared about the poor they would not support consumption taxes as the poorest, large families are hit the hardest as a percentage of their income.
Greenshift, Carbon tax, Tobin Bank Tax.

Campus indoctrination here:
This starts early with "social justice" being taught in junior school.
When you hear the term “social justice,” be prepared to empty your wallet, particularly if it is paired with the word “economic.”
The first is a full-frontal assault on the United States and its foundations: capitalism, individualism, and the Protestant religion. The second is painting collectivism, and international organizations based on collective thought, on a moral plane, high above American traditions.”

The govt should make public (like on the govt webiste) how each and every one of these special interest groups spent their funding, and show reason for a cut.
I remember the first round of cuts was due to more being spent on the 'store front' than being spent on women's projects.
I'm betting this round of cuts is due to duplicity in services already provided by govt agencies, and poor project performance.
Let all those groups that have lost funding publish the wages/salaries paid to those that manage said groups. Plus financial stmts of where every penny goes. Have any of them ever been audited by Rev Canada, release the results. And do any of them have charity status.
Excellent rant Hunter!!! All these advocacy groups are sucking up whatever money they can for doing ABSOLUTELY nothing. Most of the people employed within these organizations, will on further investigation, most likely be found to be relatives and friends of the MPs who clamored for the birth of these useless entities in the first place.
To give you an example of how such groups operate, I will relate briefly what I know first hand about "help for new immigrants" advocacy groups in Toronto. There must be at least 60 of them still around. About 15 years ago there were more than 100 of these. I used to trudge along (in high heels no less) to at least 2/3 on a daily basis and I did this for over two months, at the end of which I sorrowfully admitted to myself that scams were alive and prosperous in the new country I had migrated to and I could expect no help in finding a job from any of these fakes. Each and every one would just hand you some blasted literature and just tell you what other similar services you could get. FAKE FAKE FAKE.
I never get tired of telling this story to any new immigrant I come across, because the sooner they realize that these agencies are useless, the sooner the new immigrants till start looking outside the "advocacy" groups for employment leads.
