What is going on with our universities, they are more like elitist establishments than enlightened places of learning these days. Here are a few recent examples:
And that is just this week!!! Lefties are out of control because the universities are not making them pay for their bad behaviour. They suffer no consequences. They now feel they are above the law. These kids need some adults to tell them some simple truths.
Free speech means free speech for everyone, NOT just those you happen to agree with today. If you are so sure of your position, you must now protest Galloway, because he admits that he supports terrorists. They won't do it, and I am willing to bet that they are out there supporting Galloway.
Fortunately there are some people who have learned from the lefties, and they were out in force to protest Galloway's speech. They did not try to get it shut down, and they were peaceful, not like those lefties protesting at the G20, Coulter, Ezra, and any other person they do not agree with.

So you would have us believe that all the G20 and Coulter protesters were not peaceful?
It will be most hilarious to watch you get all "nuancy" and talk about a "few" not being peaceful after PR's "welcoming committee" does its "protest".
You never answered my question in an earlier thread: Can you honestly say you would be at the same position in life, financially and socially, if your parents had been black?
I did get the usual attempts to put words in my mouth, as I predicted at the time, but no straight answer. Will I get a straight answer this time? Or will I have to ask 17 times, as I had to in past discussions with other folks.
LS ... YES. In my "Society" there were no "blacks" (only whites and orientals ... and if you like "Jews"!) and the "Louis" family produced 3 doctors from their grocery store. I am white and would thus assume that if I were "black" that I would have succeeded as most of my friends did. Where I grew up (back in the 50's) my city was at least 30% "american" and thus we were exposed to the racist beleifs of the deep south. We didn't accept it nor endorse it as far as I am concerned.
I think that the "your are white thus racist" is a bunch of BS and is not intelectually honest.
LS: Can you honestly say you would be at the same position in life, financially and socially, if your parents had been black?
Well LS, yes I can. I didn't get the grades I did because I was white. I had the same education opportunities as every child in Canada, thanks to our education system where everyone it's treated equally, or do you dispute that?
I didn't get anyone to pay for my tuition, like our First Nations do,I started working at age 15 and saved the money for university.
I didn't use my being a female to scream discrimination, like feminists do. I did what anyone from any race can do, I worked hard for what I have today, being white had nothing to do with it.
Now, did I get some jobs because I was a pretty, slim, intelligent woman with a degree? You bet I did, you men are such pushovers! HA!
Thanks so much Hunter for this post. I wrote BCF about exactly this topic. You read my mind. We, the adults, need to be a voice for students at our Universities, since what I would call a significant number of these "institutions" across Canada are now using the "it's a security risk" to cancel right leaning events. It is censorship of free speech at it's worst. And you're right. There are no consequences. There also doesn't seem to be any protection for students to express themselves freely without fear of losing their status as students at these campuses. This is wrong on so many levels. How to address this? Education is provincially funded. What would you suggest folks do who want to challenge the Administration and Student Unions who are imposing these restrictions on free speech?

I've just learned that Galloway plans to pollute the city of Edmonton with his presence:

We need to arrange a "welcoming" committee for Mr Galloway -- something to bring to his attention the detail that he is not welcome in Edmonton.
time to DE-fund the Universities and let them "survive" on their own.
