 Food Nazis: A Rockefeller Foundation-funded "elitist" who advocates "fat taxes" (ex. CSPI), banning fat people from restaurants (ex. MeMe Roth), forcing fat people to pay more for airline tickets (ex. MeMe Roth), and genetically-modified food while they also smear organic food (ex. CSPI and the Center for Consumer Freedom).

Food Nazis are attacking our freedom of choice! They want a tax on pop, and subsidies for poor people to buy food, BUT they aren't nanny-state meanies, because they aren't BANNING anything. These are PhD's who need to get off their duffs and talk to real people, not their computers.

An expert panel commissioned by the Heart and Stroke Foundation is urging governments to slap a tax on sugared soft drinks, subsidize the poor to eat fruit and vegetables and give farmers incentives to grow more fresh produce, in a novel new take on Canada’s obesity epidemic.

The group’s fiscal-policy approach to the obesity issue is bound to generate controversy. Its lead author insists, however, that the soda-tax and other proposals do not represent nanny-state intervention into diet and behaviour.
“We’re not banning these items. It is trying to signal to the consumer that you should try to consume less of it,” said Guy Faulkner, a University of Toronto professor of health and exercise psychology. “If we think that obesity is a serious public-health issue ... then ultimately economic measures will have to be part of the arsenal.”

How "out to lunch" can these guys be? Seriously, food nazis now? They want farmers to grow "fresh" produce? Hello, what are they producing now, "stale" produce? How about they get rid of the Quebec milk and cheese marketing boards and see how fast the price of those healthy products decrease? While they are at it, they can get rid of the poultry, egg and wheat marketing boards as well! Why is the government forcing up the prices of all the natural healthy products? Ask the producers who have quotas!

How about instead of subsidies for poor families, you show them how to plant and harvest "fresh" veggies? Urban gardens are popular these days, except they take work. Grow veggies on Toronto's city hall roof! Then show them how to cook them too, as I am pretty sure many have no idea what to do with a "fresh" pea! (I know this because I have my peas out by the back alley and no kids "raid" the peas, they think they are beans! Some of them will eat my raspberries, so they like fruits at least.)

Remember that old saying, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink, I think it applies here. Even in my house where we eat natural healthy, home cooked foods, my youngest son will always grab a pop if given the choice, while my eldest grabs for the milk. None of us have weight problems, even my junk food youngest son. If he did have weight problems, as the parent, I would monitor what he was eating more closely, but I want the government to stop trying to tell me and my family what to do and what to eat!

How about the greenies get out there right now (-10C) and show us how it's done! They want the 100 kilometer rule for buying our food, what do we grow in the winter? What? I can't grow anything in the winter, except in a greenhouse which uses tonnes of gas heat and needs CO2? No, really? Luckily we can import "fresh" produce from the US during the winter. I bet the CO2 from one truckload of "fresh" tomatoes from California in the winter, is way less than a greenhouse. 

Is their no one who wants to take personal responsibility for their own actions and lives anymore? Can we stop with the banning, and the taxing, and the give aways to everyone with a sad story? Butt out of my life, leave my family alone!

The Eco-God!

First there was global cooling, and when that didn't happen the Eco-God frowned. Then we got global warming, and when that didn't happen the Eco-God got mad and told his subjects to get it right! The eco-weenies thought and thought and thought, and came up with climate change, and then the Eco-God was content. Eco-God knew that climate change is always happening, so Eco-God was happy.

Eco-God sent his apostles across the globe to spread the gospel of eco-cap and trade. Eco-God wanted the transfer of money from the eco-rich to the eco-poor. Gore and Suzuki called for the jailing of "deniers", those heretics that would not believe in man made global warming, and the Eco-God smiled down on them as they counted their eco-money.

Then the apostles were caught making stuff up to support their cause, and they went into hiding. They listened to the Eco-God when they were in their caves, and obeyed his orders to create "shock and awe" to wake up the non-believers. Blowing up school children is okay by the Eco-God, as long as the message gets across to people.

Make stuff up, scare people and make sure that you get the money says Eco-God! And the Eco-soldiers march in lock step towards their end.

Eco-God frowned down on his subjects, and thundered the command to scare people with a harmless substance, something that was common to all the worlds people, and the eco-weenies came up with CO2! This was a devil created substance that plants took in and exchanged for oxygen. Too much CO2 would be a bad thing, the zombies cried. Eco-God was happy, mega bucks for a free substance, what a perfect scam!

Grant provides the number of animals killed by windmills etc every year (22,464.) Syncrude is paying $1875 per duck. 22,464 x 1875 = $42,120,000. Thats 42 million to Mr. Mike Hudema of Greenpeace. Only makes sense since they like to hit people in their pocketbooks. What's good for the goose... Hope that doesn't cut into your protest budget for China and Saudi Arabia Mr. Hudema... What a laugh.

Greenpeace owes us 42 million for all the dead birds those wind turbines have killed in one year. The courts have now set it into law. Someone needs to sue the green companies for all those deaths! I hope Prentice is on those folks. I am so sick of being beaten over the head day in and day out by a group of juvenile university preppies who think they know it all and have nothing better to do than chain themselves to trees to make their point. Let them stay chained to those trees, bowing down to Eco-God, I am busy making a living for my family. I refuse to go make my kids go back into caves!

Eco-God can take an eco-friendly leap off the nearest cliff, maybe all that CO2 will break his fall!

The Environmental Protection Agency and some large business, including Wal-Mart, are aggressively promoting the sale of compact fluorescent light bulbs as a way to save energy and fight global warming. They want Americans to buy many millions of them over the coming years.

But the bulbs contain small amounts of mercury, a neurotoxin, and the companies and federal government haven't come up with effective ways to get Americans to recycle them.

"The problem with the bulbs is that they'll break before they get to the landfill. They'll break in containers, or they'll break in a dumpster or they'll break in the trucks. Workers may be exposed to very high levels of mercury when that happens," says John Skinner, executive director of the Solid Waste Association of North America, the trade group for the people who handle trash and recycling.

Skinner says when bulbs break near homes, they can contaminate the soil.

Mercury is a potent neurotoxin, and it's especially dangerous for children and fetuses. Most exposure to mercury comes from eating fish contaminated with mercury.

This is the same Environmental Protection Agency that has declared CO2 to be a pollutant, but mercury in light bulbs...not a problem! Neurotoxin good, CO2 bad! I remember when they used to call it mercury poisoning, but I guess that's not the case anymore, could it have anything to do with GE??? Just asking...

Carbon Dioxide (Co2) Enrichment Air Fertilization

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) contributes to plant growth as part of the miracle of nature known as photosynthesis. This enables plants to combine Carbon Dioxide and water with the aid of light energy to form sugar. Some of these sugars are converted into complex compounds that increase dry solid plant substances for continued growth to final maturity. However, when the supply of carbon dioxide is cut off, or reduced, the complex plant cell structure cannot utilize the sun's energy fully and growth or development is curtailed.

Although carbon dioxide is one of three main components which combine to produce the products necessary for plant growth, the amount of carbon dioxide in the air is only 0.03% (250 to 330 parts per million). This compares to 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 0.97% trace gases in normal air. Numerous tests have proven that during the winter months carbon dioxide concentrations inside greenhouses is invariably much lower than in outside air. This same phenomenon has been shown in controlled environment gardens.

CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2)
IMPROVES PLANT GROWTH AND QUALITY
Research has shown that in most cases rate of plant growth under otherwise identical growing conditions is directly related to carbon dioxide concentration.

The amount of carbon dioxide a plant requires to grow may vary from plant to plant, but tests show that most plants will stop growing when the CO2 level decreases below 150 ppm. Even at 220 ppm, a slow-down in plant growth is significantly noticeable.

Colorado State University conducted tests with carnations and other flowers in controlled CO2 atmospheres ranging from 200 to 550 ppm. The higher CO2 concentrations significantly increased the rate of formation of dry plant matter, total flower yield and market value.

Yikes!!!!! Plants stop growing at CO2 levels below 150ppm? Plants do better the HIGHER the CO2 concentrations??? This isn't what we have been told, someone has been lying to us, could it be the environmentalists, who love mercury, but not CO2?

Now, I don't like to link to scare sites, but this one is so out there that I'm sure no-one really believes their hype. According to them, we are at 389.91ppm, plants love 550ppm, so, we really need to crank up the CO2 people! Forget about earth hour, we need a CO2 week, where we run our cars, and factories at full 24 hour production to be able to feed more people. Forget carbon sequestration, we need to blast that stuff right into our greenhouses and atmosphere so we can promote food growth! Or as they call it "Air Fertilization"!

One of these things is not like the others, a kid in grade three could figure it out, why can't the climate change money grabbing lobby groups?

Look Up, Way Up Into The Galaxy!

I did a Youtube search today to see what CO2 documentaries, other than Al Gore's garbage film, were out there. What have the climate scientists put up to show that the evidence is in, the debate is over, and global warming is indeed a fact. Here is a screen capture of the results:



Now if CO2 is the big bad cause of climate change, why do only documentaries that tend to disprove global warming show up as the first sites? Try it yourself, no documentary proving CO2 is a problem show up. Greenies appear to be relying on Al Gore's Hollywood production. They don't even attempt to present real facts to real people, you see, we are only the pockets to be picked, so they do not have to convince us of anything, only our governments.

I want to thank PM Harper and Minister Prentice for their adult approach to this issue. You stood proud and the majority of Canadians stood proudly with you. I enjoyed every fossil award we received...after all, that Alberta oil is because of all those fossils decomposing into black gold!

Now that the eco-nuts have frozen their nuts off, it's time to get serious. Environment Canada needs to be checked into to make sure they have not fudged our temperature readings. Next we need to call for an independent review of the Climategate scientists and we need to demand their data so that scientists can start recreating the real story about temperatures. I suggest 10 or more independent teams from around the world, who have NO contact with each other, and the UN IPCC should be shut down, it's a political organization that has nothing to do with science. If climate scientists do not agree with this, they are not real scientists. Real scientists form the hypothesis and then test it. They do not fake results to support a hypothesis. They do not suppress other theories that might disprove their point of view just because they are getting huge grants to support one point of view.

A perfect example of the climate scientists blocking other scientists who have a different theory is this video. It is worth watching and much more believable than anything I have seem from the global warming scientists. The Cloud mystery:













These are REAL scientists, not Al Gore, the politician or Suzuki, the bug guy. I hope you watched all of the video, because it's not flashy like Gore's made in Hollywood movie, but the science is easy to understand and testable. Same can't be said of the CO2 guys. Show me the proof you CO2 guys.

CO2 is supposed to be the big bad wolf that is huffing and puffing and blowing our planet into global warming, or not. Remember the year 2000, the year our computers were all going to crash, and they didn't? Did you know that we were facing an even bigger menace? A solar flare.

June 7, 2000 -- Yesterday the orbiting Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) recorded a powerful series of solar eruptions including a full-halo coronal mass ejection (CME).

"The halo CME was magnificent," says Gary Heckman, a space weather forecaster at the NOAA Space Environment Center. "Based on [the characteristics of the eruption], this looks like a sure bet to produce a geomagnetic storm." ......

They may sound menacing, but CMEs pose little danger to people on Earth. Our planet's magnetic field serves as an effective shield against solar wind storms. The same familiar force that causes compass needles on Earth to point north also extends far into space. When a CME hits the magnetosphere -- the region around Earth controlled by its magnetic field -- most of the incoming material is deflected away from our planet.

If a gust of solar wind is very strong -- as this one might be -- it can compress the magnetosphere and unleash a geomagnetic storm. In extreme cases, such storms can induce electric currents in the Earth that interfere with electric power transmission equipment. Satellite failures are possible, too. Geomagnetic storms can also trigger beautiful aurorae. These "Northern Lights" are usually seen at high latitudes, but they have been spotted farther south than Florida during intense disturbances. The last time this happened was April 6, 2000.

That was 2000, they were more excited about the aurora you could see than any power failures. Fast forward to today.

Powerful Solar Storm Could Shut Down U.S. for Months

A new study from the National Academy of Sciences outlines grim possibilities on Earth for a worst-case scenario solar storm.

Damage to power grids and other communications systems could be catastrophic, the scientists conclude, with effects leading to a potential loss of governmental control of the situation.

The prediction is based in part on a major solar storm in 1859 that caused telegraph wires to short out in the United States and Europe, igniting widespread fires.

It was perhaps the worst in the past 200 years, according to the new study, and with the advent of modern power grids and satellites, much more is at risk.

Don't Blame Sun for Global Warming, Study Says

The sun's energy output varies slightly as sunspots wax and wane on the star's surface.

But sunspot-driven changes to the sun's power are simply too small to account for the climatic changes observed in historical data from the 17th century to the present, research suggests.

The difference in brightness between the high point of a sunspot cycle and its low point is less than 0.1 percent of the sun's total output.

"If you run that back in time to the 17th century using sunspot records, you'll find that this amplitude variance is negligible for climate," Foukal said.

So, the sun is a major player, or it isn't. Then again it might be, maybe if the moons all align at the right time and the sea ice melts, but only if Jupiter is perfectly visible to the naked eye, and nothing will happen if there is cloud cover.
Are all none scientific people, like me, as tired of the scare tactics being used by the eco-nuts as I am?. Oh, and let's not forget about this little threat to our climate....

Alaska volcano is rumbling, but no big bursts

"It looks like a volcano that wants to erupt, and our general impression is that it's more likely to erupt than not," said Tina Neal with the Alaska Volcano Observatory.

As a precaution, Elmendorf Air Force Base near Anchorage, about 160 kilometres northeast of Redoubt, was moving five C-17 cargo planes to McChord Air Force Base in Washington.

"We're just trying to be proactive and protect our assets," said a spokesman.

"Our aircraft support other missions, such as delivering supplies to Iraq and Afghanistan, and this relocation will allow them to still do all those missions even if the volcano does erupt."

On Saturday, geologists observed a quickly growing area of vigorous steaming on the north side of the mountain. Volcanic gas also was detected.

A hole in a glacier clinging to the north side of the volcano had doubled in size since Friday, spanning the length of two football fields.

The area is just below a dome that formed the last time Redoubt blew in 1990.

The signs of heat add to concerns that an eruption is near, which could send an ash cloud about 160 kilometres northeast toward Anchorage, the state's largest city.

An eruption in December 1989 sent an ash cloud 300 kilometres that flamed out the jet engines of a KLM flight carrying 231 passengers on its way to Anchorage.

Pilots were able to restart the engines and land safely.

The observatory last week detected a steep increase in earthquake activity below the volcano, upgrading its alert level to orange, the stage before full eruption.

Hey, but CO2 is the problem, ever though water vapour makes up 95% of greenhouse gases. I'm no scientist, but I can detect BS when I encounter it. Too bad the eco-nuts have no such radar detector.

Oh My God, Now It's The Koalas!

Bad enough that the polar bears are increasing in numbers because of CO2, now, we have the cute, cuddly, Koala bears suffering from CO2. This is a disaster.

Guess seals aren't cute enough, now we have koalas at risk. Hello, CO2 is loved by plants, in return we get oxygen. No CO2, no oxygen, no life. Carbon dioxide "pollution"??? Sicko's want less oxygen. They never mention that plants need CO2, that we need CO2 to be turned into oxygen. They never mention that more CO2 means faster plant growth. Hey, maybe that would help with all the starving masses, it means more food.

The researchers found that carbon dioxide in eucalyptus leaves affects the balance of nutrients and “anti-nutrients” – substances that are either toxic or interfere with the digestion of nutrients.

Right. Now we have "anti-nutrients", which are either toxic or not. Give me a break, I garden, you plant seeds, water, and harvest.

So, will my lights be turned off at eight, sure, it's still light out here at eight, why would I waste electricity on lights, but my 3 computers, TV, dishwasher, dryer and BBQ will all be fired up, along with the gas fireplace.

Point? I recycle, compost year round, grow my own plants, have a big vegetable garden, collect rainwater in 4 giant containers, use no chemicals, so turning off my lights for one hour is stupid. It does nothing to actually reduce CO2, as if that's even the problem. HINT: CO2 is NOT a pollutant. The problem is all the dim watt bulbs who believe in this garbage.

So, lefties, buy my CO2 eating carbon credits, and I promise to plant all those plants this spring. If not, I might go on a rampage and kill them all!!!
