PETA Kills Puppies And Kittens!

I wish I was lying, but they prefer killing animals instead of adopting them out to good homes. As far as I can tell, they want all animals to run free. They obviously don't value humans. Think I'm wrong?

What PETA does not tell you is that it doesn’t much like pets — which it sees to view as a form of animal slavery. Nor does it tell you that it euthanizes — kills — some 85% of the animals it rescues. As an organization, it tends to believe an animal is better dead than living with a human being.
As far back as 2008, the Center for Consumer Freedom petitioned Virginia’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) to have PETA officially reclassified as a “slaughterhouse.”

These statistics are available through Virginia’s Sunshine Law and, as incredible as some may find it, since 1998, of 31,815 animals (mostly dogs and cats) admitted to PETA shelters, only 3,159 were adopted — and 27,751 were killed.
That’s 9.7% adoption rate and an 87.2% kill rate — a ghastly record for an organization purporting to work on behalf of animals. What it indicates is a view that if an animal isn’t free and in the wild, it is better off dead.
But wait, it get’s worse. Since 2006 the PETA adoption rate has dropped precipitously, the kill rate risen dramatically.
In 2006, of 3,061 animals admitted to PETA’s shelter, 12 (0.39%) were adopted, 2,981 (97.49%) were euthanized.
Last year — 2011 — some 1,992 animals were admitted, 24 were adopted (1.2%) and 1,911 (95.9%) were killed.
And this is just Virginia.

I have blogged about this before, so it is not new. It's amazing how people want to believe that these organizations actually save animals, and when you present the facts to them, they refuse to believe it. They are like the deluded people who still believe in global warming, no matter how many scientists tell them that the earth has not warmed for 15 years. Is it stupidity or just a desire to feel like they are supporting a cause that makes them feel good, like they are doing something for society?

You can not "do something" for society if you refuse to look at the real facts. PETA kills dogs and cats and any other animal they "rescue" from science labs. Worse, they support violence. Fire bombing a science lab, is justified by these activists because animals are meant to be free. Well tell that to the people living in the Arctic who have to live with one of the most vicious predators on earth, the polar bear. They at least have the reason of survival to kill. PETA kills because they think the animal is better off dead than with a loving family. Remember how they wanted to kill Knut? They are sick.

Bad Language Warning!

One of PETA's own executives is only alive because of insulin, but it's okay for her to benefit from animals because she has a mission? What a hypocrite. They are fine with violence, because their cause is "pure" and "noble". BS.

Do not ever give this puppy/kitten killing organization any money, ever again. Don't let their protests fool you. Make them inject that next puppy with the killing drugs they are so fond of administering. Maybe we should start raiding their premises to save all those cats and dogs from the freezer.

How can these supposedly humane animal groups get away with killing so many puppies and kittens? Ezra slams a PETA fool, who is too stupid to say anything but the standard PETA lines.

A brief summary is; Ezra had the facts about PETA killing huge numbers of puppies and kittens, while still protesting a Guzoo in Alberta, where no animals had been killed until PETA became involved. Now we hear that the Alberta government has ordered some perfectly happy and healthy exotic animals killed because of PETA and their own stupidity. Where is Wildrose Alliance on this issue? Too busy promoting their leader? Too busy sucking up to the other opposition parties on health care? Wake up Wildrose! This is a perfect opportunity to show exactly how conservative you really are, or as I am beginning to suspect, are not!

What will happen to the animals when GuZoo is decommissioned?
GuZoo has domestic animals in direct contact with controlled (wildlife and exotic) animals. As a result, none of the animals can simply be released or sold.

We will be working with the operator and providing advice on the best options for the animals, including working with organizations such as CAZA to help place the animals.

The government has already told Guzoo owner that: THE LION, ALL 4 BEARS, AND ALL 16 DEER AND ELK ARE TO BE SHOT!  This is the cold hard fact.  So don’t be fooled by sugar coated words of concern. Our government, by listening to these animal rights groups has sentenced nearly 2 dozens animals to slaughter.

By the Government’s own definition, ALL Guzoo’s domestic animals have intermingled with wildlife and exotic animals and by their own regulations, ALL Guzoo’s domestics can NEVER leave the property (this includes their dogs, rabbits, horses, sheep, goats etc) unless they are provided a home for at another zoo. 
There are not a lot of zoos out there who want to add pygmy goats, basset hounds, domestic rabbits to their zoo displays.

The ALBERTA GOVERNMENT has ordered the killing of perfectly happy and cared for animals because AMERICAN sponsored PETA doesn't like animals being held captive. PETA slaughters thousand of puppies and kittens every year, but one farmer is the bad guy? This provincial government sucks, big time and our farmer Premier ED should understand farm issues better than any PETA activists. This government is falling apart and I'm not sure that Wildrose is ready to take over. A really sad position to be in.

Now the animal rights activists are telling the Royals that the Calgary Stampede will make them faint. What idiots. Only problem is that our media are even bigger idiots and they continue to give these protest groups ink. The Calgary Stampede is a world class event. In Spain they still kill the bulls, in Canada the bull riders take all the bumps and scrapes, the bulls usually win the fight. Don't tell the PETA types though, they have preconceived opinions that can't be changed no matter how many puppies and kittens they have to kill to get our attention so we can save the sharks instead.

Charities, Too Many, Too Pushy!

I have had it with being called on to donate money to every charity, for every cause under the sun! Enough!

I had two canvassers come to my door to try to get me to adopt a child in Africa. They opened by showing a picture of a starving child and asking me if I cried when I saw their ads showing starving children. They just about fell off my steps when I told them, "No. Blatant emotional manipulation doesn't work for me". I asked them how much of the money donated actually got to those starving children, they didn't know. I asked them if they had ever been over to Africa to help those children, they said no. They were paid canvassers. That means money you give to those charities goes to hire them, not to help the starving children.

I find church groups do the best job in actually helping impoverished people. They send their own people, so the contact is direct, not hands length. They also don't make it their career to suck money from people to pay themselves. Too many charitable organizations, too few dollars.

The government has just extended the deadline for donations to Pakistan's flood victims, they will match our donations dollar for dollar. At the same time, we hear that Haiti has only cleared around 8% of the damage. Where have our dollars gone? Maybe Michelle Jean should look into that...but I doubt she will, it's all about optics. PETA says they are protecting animals, and then we find out they actually kill more cats and dogs than your local animal shelter.


Too many charities, who are way too pushy, too disconnected from the very people they are trying to help. I think a lot of people have just stopped giving money to any charity because they don't trust any of them anymore. It's sad to think that those kids starving in Africa are not getting any money, because the actual organizations who are supposed to help them are so top heavy with money grabbers, the money gets funneled to them not the kids.

I give money to charities, as I'm sure you all do, but, I make sure that the money goes directly to those who need it, and not the administrators. I hope you do the same.

Global Warming Sucks!

I know, it's called weather and that is different from global warming, or as it is now called "climate change", but it still sucked today!

This was at 8:00 this morning (Tuesday) in Edmonton. I took this photo just before leaving for work and just before the power went out.


It continued to snow most of the day, and only one being seemed to like our snowstorm. Our little (growing rapidly) seeing eye puppy from California, had a great time in the snow!



Unfortunately, the 60 km winds and blowing snow probably had something to do with this tragedy. Father, two little girls killed in truck-train crash My prayers go out to the family. I can not imagine what the Mother is going through right now.

We also have this nonsense going on: Fight over Lucy the Elephant heads to court Leave Lucy alone! PETA already kills most animals it supposedly saves.

Finally, the Financial Post understands what I was saying all last week. The oilsands are not the big polluters the eco-nuts want everyone to believe. Louisiana spill takes environmental heat off of oil sands

Today, we shovel ourselves out, while mumbling about "global warming" and how it sucks!

PETA Wants To Kill Lucy!

Why? Simple, they don't care about Lucy, they want some media exposure. If they cared about Lucy, they would leave her alone. She is sick, too sick to travel, it would kill her. Does PETA care? NOPE!

They bring in some slick Toronto lawyer to convince a judge that Lucy is suffering, but the guy is an idiot!

High-profile Toronto lawyer Clayton Ruby, representing People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and Zoocheck Canada, says the city is violating Alberta’s Animal Protection Act by keeping Lucy in isolation and in an enclosure.

“This is a city that’s having difficulty paying for snow removal. Why are they going to blow hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep Lucy in these horrible conditions?” said Ruby during a news conference Monday in Edmonton.

Having difficulty paying for snow removal? No, we just have lefty idiots on our city council that can't budget themselves out of a paper bag. I wonder if that Toronto lawyer remembers that Toronto has to call in the army when it snows there! I guess it saves them from having to pay for removing their snow. If he thinks we Albertans are going to be impressed just because he is from Toronto, I suggest he goes on a tour of some of our buffalo farms, or maybe muck out some stalls after the dairy cows have left the barn. We know animals, we care for our animals and we will do whatever we think is best for Lucy, but we do not need some snooty lefty lawyer from Toronto telling us about our animals. He should be embarrassed to be representing PETA, they kill puppies don't they?

They have never visited her, they don't care for her everyday. Their vet has never bothered to visit her. They have done nothing to help Lucy on a day to day basis.

"It is my opinion that the conditions and standard of care at the Valley Zoo are causing Lucy unnecessary distress and that these conditions are not in conformity with [zoo association] standards," Dr. Ensley said in his affidavit.

He based his conclusions on his experience in the field and a review of information about Lucy's condition, although he didn't personally examine her.

The decision to keep Lucy in Edmonton has been the subject of controversy, with animal rights groups enlisting celebrities such as Bob Barker and William Shatner to push for her transfer to an elephant sanctuary.

Lucy has spent all her life here, this is all she knows, and she is loved by her caregivers and Edmontonians. We are doing everything we can to make her life comfortable, and PETA wants to tear her away for everything she has ever known and send her to a strange place, to probably die. But PETA is good at sending animals to die. We should be suing them for cruelty to animals.



Here is a truth about PETA. They would prefer to use their money on slick lawyers to sue Edmonton for one sick elephant to get media attention, then to spend that money on the dogs and cats they have in their care. Now who has blood on their hands? They kill more dogs and cats in one year than our hunters kill seals! Hypocrites!

Public Records: PETA Found Adoptive Homes for Less than 1 out of 300 Animals

Animal lovers worldwide now have access to more than a decade’s worth of proof that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) kills thousands of defenseless pets at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. Since 1998, PETA has opted to “put down” 21,339 adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens instead of finding homes for them.

PETA’s “Animal Record” report for 2008, filed with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, shows that the animal rights group killed 95 percent of the dogs and cats in its care last year. During all of 2008, PETA found adoptive homes for just seven pets.

Just seven animals -- out of the 2,216 it took in. PETA just broke its own record.

That's right folks, PETA kills dogs and cats. It is cheaper to kill them than it is to feed them. They need all the money they can get to throw pies in our Ministers faces and to try and kill Lucy the Elephant. Oh, they want to "save" her, not kill her, even though they have been told the journey might kill her, they don't care, because if she does die, then they can just say, see we told you to move her sooner.

The sicko's are the people of PETA. Prove me wrong. Send letters to the paper telling PETA to butt out of Lucy's life. Tell them to clean up their own organization before they yap about seals and elephants. And for heavens (animals) sake, stop donating to them!

Leave Lucy ALONE!

My family has enjoyed watching Lucy for years. We want nothing but the best for her, as do her caregivers. Why are PETA, William Shatner, and Bob Barker so concerned after 32 years of Lucy's life? Could it be that they actually care about her? Let's see how they care about other animals:

Kill Knut? The Twisted Logic of Animal Rights Extremists

Animal rights activists, as SPIEGEL reported Monday, aren't so enthralled with the polar bear baby. They are concerned that Knut, who is being raised by human hand after his mother rejected him, is in danger of losing touch with the bear necessities. Some would like to see him dead.

Why?

"Raising him by hand is not appropriate to the species but rather a blatant violation of animal welfare laws," animal rights activist Frank Albrecht told the mass circulation newspaper Bild, whose front page headline Monday read "Will Sweet Knut Be Killed by Injection?"

Berlin Zoo is allowing Knut to be raised in such a way that the bear will have a behavioral disorder for the rest of his life, Albrecht believes. "In actual fact, the zoo needs to kill the bear cub," he adds.

He's not alone. Wolfram Graf-Rudolf, director of the Aachen Zoo, told the newspaper, "I don't consider it appropriate for the species that the little polar bear is being raised on a bottle." The animal will be fixated on his keeper and not be a "real" polar bear, he says. However he feels it is now too late to put Knut out of his supposed misery. "The mistake has been made. One should have had the courage to put him to sleep much earlier."

So kill the baby polar bear. Funny Bobby Barker claims our harsh winters are bad for Lucy, so maybe ALL zoos with polar bears should return them to Canada, or as some wacky eco-nut has suggested bring the polar bears to the Antarctic so they can feed on penguins. Oh, but PETA saves animals, so we should listen to them:

Bob Barker can't convince Edmonton to move elephant

Earlier this week, the zoo released an expert report that concluded a move would endanger the 34-year-old elephant's life.

Dr. James Oosterhuis, a veterinary consultant in San Diego, examined Lucy and issued a letter to the zoo explaining how the elephant is having breathing issues.

"Her current respiratory problems preclude any thought of moving her and in fact, it would be life threatening," wrote Oosterhuis. "It is my opinion that it would be unethical for any veterinarian to recommend moving her."

Zoo manager Linda Cochrane said it appeared they simply agreed to disagree with Barker and the two animal experts who joined him at the meeting.

"We're responsible for this elephant," said Cochrane. "We've had her here for 32 years and we just want to do what's in her best interests."

I think Bob Barker should be put into a retirement home. After all, he would be much happier there than with his friends in the TV world. Wouldn't he? Yeah, that's what should be done. He is old, and can't think for himself, so he should be in a retirement home. Let's send him to one, so he can live out the rest of his life in comfort. I suppose it should be somewhere warm, so he won't be cold. How about Bangladesh?

Bet he wouldn't like that idea, any better than Lucy likes his ideas. Go Home Bob, and look after your own problems.

The eco-nuts will not listen, they don't think killing thousands of dogs and cats is bad, but one happy well cared for elephant in Edmonton is a means to increasing donations, and don't let them fool you, it's all about money. Like the 3 protesters in Washington who got arrested for stopping traffic in DC.


Yikes! Can you say off your rocker weirdos? Lets see, 21,339 animals killed by PETA, versus 1 elephant, that they are willing to kill by moving her. Knut, they wanted to kill him too, what's with PETA and killing animals?

Okay, I have to admit that I love pork, especially the fat, nicely barbecued and blackened. Bacon bits on my caesar salad, Yumm! Fish is next on my list, especially lobster. I understand that animals must die for me to eat them, but hey, we are at the top of the food chain for a reason!

And then there is PETA...

PETA's Bloody 'Unhappy Meals' Making Parents Angry

"Unhappy Meals" featuring a knife-wielding Ronald McDonald and bloody rubber chickens are upsetting parents who say the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are unfairly targeting their kids at McDonald's restaurants across the country.

PETA's "McCruelty Campaign" has ruffled the feathers of moms and dads in Albany who say they don't want their kids exposed to any throat-slitting chickens or pictures of slaughtered poultry.

"I don't want my son to be around something like this. This is not fair for a child," Stephaine Gipson told FOX23 News in Albany.

"I think it's unhappy that they target children," said parent Michelle Natale.

I have asked my boys if they realize that the meat they eat means that animals have to be killed, they are okay with it. They also enjoy eating the raspberries, nanking cherries, peas and strawberries in our yard. I killed our first zucchini tonight, and it was delicious. I swear I heard it cry when I cut it from the plant.

PETA is a radical group of hypocritical idiots who kill dogs that have been placed in their care.
