Ding Dong! The HRC Section 13 Is Dead!

I'm loving this government. First the long gun registry is up for death by uselessness. Then the CWB loses it's monopsony power to jail our western farmers. They of course, like any good lefties, are whining to the courts, with our tax dollars. Violent criminals might actually get enough time in jail to understand that they did something wrong, thanks to a crime bill the lefties can't stand, because those poor, poor criminals didn't really mean to rape that women, or shoot that kid. Now, the next piece has fallen into place, the striking of the offensive section 13 from the HRC book of tricks.  No longer will people get persecuted for free speech because someone is "offended"!

The problem for censorshipminded activists is that proving hate speech in court is hard. Courts tend to abridge Charter rights such as freedom of expression only in the most extreme cases. It is unlikely that an antiimmigration screed on the Internet or a controversial editorial cartoon would prompt a real judge to shut down a website or fine a blogger. That's why most activists prefer to rely on Sec. 13 of the CHRA and its provincial counterparts (which should also be written out of the law), instead of the criminal code.
Now, real judges will hear real cases of hate speech, not the biased HRC employees. Now, a blogger stating their opinion on an issue will not have to worry about being hauled before the HRC for someone with "hurt" feelings. Kudos to this government for acting on this issue. Now, if "Red Ali" wants to keep Conservative votes, she will get rid of this odious section in Alberta's HRC, but I'm not holding my breath, not with what I have seen of her so far.

Finally Ezra is seeing his dream come true!

MP's Back Home, Don't Leave Them Guessing!

Your MP's are back home and supposedly ready to hear from you, so don't let them down. Call up your MP and ask about things like the human rights commissions, the gun registry, the Canadian wheat board, and my favorite, the CBC.

Now that the Conservatives have a majority, like them know what you expect. We voted with our hearts, now it's time to hold them to delivering what we want. So far, they are talking but not delivering. I am willing to wait until September when Parliament resumes to see what they are up to, but so far, I have not been impressed.

Invite your MP to your community barbeque, see if he/she comes, even for a few minutes, if they don't, you better see them on TV giving a rousing speech to hundreds of people. They are here to represent you, the voter, not to live large on their salaries while ignoring you.

My MP has come to our community party a few times, but according to the party organizer, he is busy this year. I can understand that, what I can not understand is that he did not personally phone her to tell her he couldn't make it, his secretary phoned instead.

I am worried that since the Conservatives have gained their wished for majority, they are now forgetting their "reform" roots, and are acting like liberals. Let them know what you expect, it was the loud "reformers" who got them in touch with the voters, but many Conservative boards have now been taken over by "conservatives" because being Liberal isn't working for them. It's time we looked at the makeup of those boards an make sure that "reformers" still have a voice.

To my MP, if you read this, at least call Vera to apologize for not being able to attend the barbeque, don't let your secretary be your voice. All Conservatives need to hold their MP's to account, let them know what you want to see happen for the next 4 years, don't leave them guessing!

Around The Water Cooler Today!

Total disbelief by people of all parties! The Liberal voters were red eyed and silent. The Conservative voters were elated and the NDP voters were walking around shaking their heads.

Conservatives were joking with the NDP about all the rookies they are going to have to deal with, it could make question period very entertaining.

What I want to see happen as soon as possible?

1. Canadian Wheat Board made voluntary, no more putting are farmers behind bars.
2. HRC's power cut by removing "hate crimes" from their mandate.
3. Long Gun Registry gone.
4. Crime bills passed.
5. Deficit cut by better management of our tax dollars.

Those would be my top five. Number 1 to 4 is easy stuff, and should be done quickly. Number 5 is much harder, but can be done without cutting jobs. The best thing was seeing PM Harper looking so relaxed today. He deserves a rest, and quiet time with his family.

5 plus 1 plus 4 = 10

Belated Congrats Conservative party and PM Harper (I still love saying that!). Five years in a minority government and still kicking (Can I say kick or is that too violent?). My prediction is that we will not have an election this year, so it will be five plus 1. Then the Conservatives will get their majority giving them 4 years to get things done, leading us to 5 plus 1 plus 4 = 10.

To see PM Harper's speech go here to CTV. Ignore the comments, lefties are Harper Haters. It's as disgusting as the lefties blaming Sarah and the Tea Party for a deranged man shooting and killing people at a political rally. Rational is not a term lefties understand, I dare not mention common sense!

If the Conservatives get a majority what would we see?
The end of the long gun registry (hello lefties, not a big surprise and the reason many lefty MP's are going to lose their seats!).

An elected Senate. (What's so scary about that?).

The demise of the CWB monopoly (thank goodness. How stupid is it that western farmers are forced to sell their grain to the CWB while eastern farmers can sell their grains to anyone they want?)

More criminals behind bars for longer, (It's about time, and don't believe the lefty propaganda that crime is decreasing.) My husbands truck (yes we are rednecks, and proud of it!) was broken into, we reported it and the police just said call your insurance company, no formal report was written, so it doesn't appear in StatsCan data. I'm pretty sure we aren't the only ones this has happened to.

5 plus 1 plus 4 = 10 (at least) years that the Conservatives will be in power. Suck it up lefties. You want a cleaner environment? Go to China, they need help cleaning up their pollution. You want to give women in third world countries the abortion option? Go over there and help that goal come true, but don't expect me to pay for it. Learn to raise your own funds, don't come running to the government for your grants and entitlements, taxpayers are sick of everyone with outstretched hands and no results.

What would you like to see done for Canadians, in the next 5 years of Conservative government? What is your priority?

I want a reduction of the deficit and debt. Interest rates are only going up, so we need to manage our debt, and that includes provinces, municipalities and hospitals.

Guns, In Their Purses, In Canada!

To all the police who support the gun registry.....you have lost my respect. I used to think of the RCMP as the best police organization in the world. No more. You have lost my respect. You are encouraging women to feel secure because of the gun registry. You should be ashamed of yourselves for not telling women the truth about the gun registry. You are now going to have to take responsibility for your support of the useless gun registry and your failure to protect women.

To all the women who support the gun registry....If you think a gun registry is going to stop you from being raped or killed, you need to give your head a shake and realign your brains. A predator will get you faster than you can respond. What do you have in your purse to protect yourself? A nail file? Keys?

I have dog spray, but by the time I found it, got it out and aimed it in the right direction, the predator would have knocked me out. If I had a gun, I could reach into my purse and shoot without having to draw it out. Women don't need to be victims, but our police and politicians seem to want us to stay weak and vulnerable.. Nothing wrong with a little protection against predators and a gun works.

Women should be going to shooting ranges and getting comfortable with guns, because one day you might have to use one. (Plus it's a lot of fun) My uncle had a farm in northern Alberta, you didn't go anywhere on the farm without a shotgun, unless you thought you could fight off a bear. Women need to be prepared whether they are in the city or on a farm. Try taking a bat to a 250 pound predator, he will grab it from you and use it on you, and the gun registry will sit there, inert, and unable to help you.

The NDP should be ashamed of their vote. The money to keep the useless gun registry alive could have been used to build more women's shelters, or low income housing, their favorite causes. Are they expecting a coalition next election and are selling their souls for a chance at government? Peter Stoffer was the only NDP MP I liked, and now he has sold his constituents down the river. He didn't look very happy with his changed vote, I wonder why he did it, some of his mates stayed true to their principles, why didn't he?

The Liberals made a great show of supporting Iggy, but it was hollow support because they were whipped, on a private members bill no less. All they showed was that the party was more important than their constituents. The bill they voted for, was a bill that said they didn't want a bill to go forward, what kind of idiotic parliamentary procedure allows that kind of stupidity?

The opposition won the vote, but lost the long game. This will not go away. This will come back and bite them next election. Next time a woman is killed by a long gun, I hope they can explain to her family why the long gun registry didn't save her. Unfortunately, feminists really aren't about protecting women, because if they were, they would be petitioning government so that women could carry guns, in their purses, in Canada!

Scrapping The Crap!

The Tory Boy has struck again, this time it's the long gun registry he's highlighted. Good one Tory Boy!

It's up to you, if you are represented by a Liberal or NDP MP, call them and let them know that you want more police and less gun registry. Let them know your vote will go to the Conservatives if they don't vote for scrapping the crap. I wonder what Goodale is going to do. He has to know the long gun registry is wildly unpopular with us prairie people.

What really ticks me off about this whole issue is the police organizations who want to keep it. They have become very political, and that should not be allowed. Don't the unions realize that they could get more police if the registry was scrapped? Are they so stupid that they think the registry will protect or help their front line officers? Shouldn't the police be neutral like our army, navy and air force? What can the union members do about disagreeing with the union position? Are the police chief's union members, if not, why haven't the police unions spoken out against the registry? Lefties constantly attack our troops and the police, isn't it about time that real cops speak out? We need some truth, not just the one side that the media feeds us.

Let the opposition play games, it only makes them look like fools. Scrap the crap.
