Oil Trains To Save America!

This is just so creepy. Atlas Shrugged is coming to life in the real world. Canadian trains are transporting oil to Texas to be refined because of Obama blocking the Keystone pipeline. 

A Canadian railroad carrying millions of barrels of oil to Gulf refineries is hurtling full steam ahead through the Obama administration's block of the Keystone pipeline.
The amount of oil Canadian Pacific Railways carries from the Bakken Formation down through the heartland has surged 2,500 percent since 2009, to 8.5 million barrels per year from just 325,000. The company expects to move 45 million barrels per year within the decade.
“We are responding to a growing demand,” Ed Greenberg, a spokesman for Canadian Pacific told FoxNews.com. “There has been unprecedented growth in the energy industry.”

Obama stopped the Keystone pipeline, but he didn't stop the oil. This should be a lesson for all those First Nations people protesting the Gateway pipeline. If the oil gets shipped by trains to the west coast, no resource revenues for you. NADA, NIL, ZIP, ZERO.  Put that in your sweet grass pipe and see the $$$ fade from view. CP/CN already have the right of way, and the tracks, you will get nothing except what the US Tides Foundation has paid you. I hope that money hasn't already gone up in smoke.

Didn't Dagny Taggart race to get her trains to the Wyatt oil field in Colorado (okay she was off, it's North Dakota), oil from a "new" technique to extract oil from shale? Oil from shale? It wasn't possible in 1957, but it sure is now. Aren't the environmental groups already screaming about shale oil? Didn't they do that in Atlas Shrugged? Remember how the government imposed all sorts of asinine restrictions on Reardon Steel and any other  company the might succeed? 


The parallels between the book and what is happening now are unbelievable. Seriously, re-read the book if you have to, because it's like Disney has brought it to life, but it is not a cartoon or just words in a book anymore, it's real life, with real people at risk. 


I always wondered when I read the book, if the resource oasis they were hiding in was Alberta. I think it might be the last refuge for people who want to work hard for the benefit of their family and their life, not just for the benefit of the takers in society. That is, as long as we boot the PC's this election, if not, Canada is done for.

Obama "Robin Hood" Of America!

Obama "Robin Hood" of America is proposing tax hikes for the rich and middle class:

At the top of that list is the expiration of the tax cuts approved during the George W. Bush administration. They're scheduled to expire at the end of 2012, and the White House estimates that letting them lapse, at least for households making more than $250,000, could pump $968 billion into the federal coffers over the next decade. 

Allowing those rates to expire, as Obama's budget proposes and as current law would allow absent intervention, would mean the following changes: 

-- For households making more than $250,000 and individuals making more than $200,000, the top income tax rate would rise from 35 percent to 39.6 percent. 

-- For those same households, the top rate on qualified dividends would rise from 15 percent to 39.6 percent. 

-- The top rate on long-term capital gains would rise from 15 percent to 20 percent. 

-- The estate tax, known disparagingly as the "death tax," would rise to 45 percent from 35 percent. 

All those tax hikes will pump $968 Billion into federal coffers over the next decade? So, they will gain 96.8B a year, when they are spending TRILLIONS? 

Well, that's going to work, or not. 

Eat the Rich, and when that is done, when you have destroyed the entrepreneurial spirit in America, who's next, as everyone will be equally poor. If someone tries to rise out of the ashes, will they be hailed as a saviour or killed for trying to rise above the masses? When all the factories are silent and cities are like Detroit, will the people be happy because everyone is equal? 

 

When "Robin Hood" has raided America, what will be left? A graveyard of factories and homes with broken windows and the promise of a better life dimmed by the struggle just to survive. When other people's money is all gone, who will the socialists turn to for their handouts, their food, their shelter? Maybe Ayn Rand's vision of the productive quitting is closer to reality than socialists, like Obama, want to admit. Doesn't this class war that Obama is starting, just to get re-elected, strike you as very similar to the politicians/socialists in the fiction "Atlas Shrugged"?

Unfortunately, this is real life, not fiction, and America needs to wake up and regain the pioneering spirit.

It appears that this Youtube video is getting some attention. I don't think these two should give up their university studies, but it's nice that people can be Conservative at that age and proud of it.

This comment is similar to other responses we've received from the video. Yes, we know that Ayn Rand was an atheist, however, she preached the power of the individual and personal responsibility just as Jesus and Martin Luther King Jr. We do not agree with the religious beliefs of Ayn Rand and we do not intend to force our beliefs on anyone. We also do not imply that all conservatives are Christians. Our music is merely a way for us to express our unique, conservative message.

You have to give them credit, they seem to have clearly thought out their positions.

I have read of the recent surge in the sales of "Atlas Shrugged", so I wonder where in North America would the entrepreneurs have the best chance of shrugging off the liberal shackles? Think about it. California? Ontario? Quebec? Where would you escape? Where do you want to raise your children to give them the best chance to excel? Where in North America would John Galt choose to relocate, and take all the talent with him?

Organizers plan confronation for banned Brit MP (That would be confrontation)

TORONTO -- Organizers of the four-city speaking tour of British anti-war MP George Galloway are going to challenge the decision to bar him from Canada in court.

The organizers also say if that fails, they've already prepared plan B.

Organizers are to announce Monday they will file an emergency injunction in Ontario federal court on Tuesday seeking to overturn Citizenship and Immigration Canada's entry ban on the outspoken politician.

Should that fail, a delegation of Canadian MPs, lawyers and activists is assembling to escort Galloway from the U.S., where he is on tour, across the Canadian border.

Do you see yourself marching in support of a terrorist sympathizer? Right, me neither. It will be interesting to see which MP's attend. Then we have these guys:

Groups seek closer checks on police profiling

The Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation recommend in a joint statement that Canadian policing and security agencies record such characteristics as race, age and gender after they make such decisions as sending someone to a secondary search or pulling someone out of a line at a border crossing.

So, we have terrorist supporters good, profiling bad. Don't want any terrorist to get their feelings hurt now do we? Let's not forget the MP going to a gun club meeting, this is a very very bad thing, not like MP's supporting terrorists, that is a good thing!

Tories, stop being Liberals

Quit pap-spouting over shooting club's plan to raffle off a handgun and address the real issue

The fact opposition politicians and Toronto's left-leaning mayor, David Miller, along with the normally sensible Mayor Hazel McCallion of Mississauga, were given a golden opportunity to deflect public attention away from the very real problem of violent, urban, gun crime, and the failure of all levels of government to address it, was, for them, a huge bonus.

Even better, by their lights, they got to attack both Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Conservative MP Garry Breitkreuz, the latter probably the most knowledgable politician in Canada about the utter failure of the federal long gun and handgun registries to effectively combat violent, urban, street crime.

Those are just a few examples of how out of control the lefties have become. So, where can a person go to escape? Think Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and large areas of BC. Think rural Ontario, but unfortunately Ontario is where most of the protesters are, so even though most people living in Ontario are conservative minded, they get tarred with the lefty brush. Notice that cities are more prone to spawn lefties as are universities, they yell about "freedom of speech" but it means only freedom to speak if you agree with their point of view.

We call Alberta "God's Country", maybe it should be renamed to "Galt Country"! Many people will be looking to find a place to go to that is not just mouthing freedom, but lives it, and that is western Canada. It should not be "Who is John Galt", it should be "Where is John Galt".
