Build The Dang Pipelines!

Seriously, build them. Japan just agreed to stop importing oil from Iran, if we had a pipeline to BC built, they could buy the oil from us. We would be their most economical route.

If the Keystone pipeline to the US was built, oil prices would not rise as much as they are going to. The US would have a secure source of oil when things like this happen. Obama is a "eco-coward" for delaying the decision until after the election.

It is simple economics, supply and demand. This is something the "greens" have no concept of as they want us using light bulbs with mercury in them, because they don't give off "heat". Meanwhile those light bulbs end up in the landfills, and leach mercury into the soil and ground water. At the same time the oil industry is cleaning up it's act, in Canada at least.

They want the price of oil and gas to increase, so solar and wind can compete.  Watch the price of food and many other products start to climb as well as gas prices. The "greens" have no concept of harm to people. They actually think that the world has too many people, so a few lost to starvation is no big deal. Funny-sad how they spout about saving the planet, but look down their noses at the people who are starving because of their insane push to save a tree, instead of a life. Save a seal instead of sending the meat to starving people.

The "greens" have to stop playing silly bugger with human lives pretending that they are doing it for the greater good. For their own greater good they mean!

I am sick of them and their distorted view of how we should live. They fly from hot spot to hot spot for their conferences, and party like animals, but the poor people in Africa are not allowed to have power or running water.

If sending one tractor to Africa, with years of gas and oil for it can feed hundreds, the "greens" would protest it. They want us back in the stone age, while they live it up. They also will not tell the truth about pipelines. Do those people living in Vancouver know that a pipeline runs right under the city?

I love that map! Alberta is the oil and gas lifeline of the US. How many Americans know that? Funny how no pipelines make it into Ontario or Quebec, I guess they like Saudi blood oil.How did all those pipelines get built? Innovators not destroyers like the "greens". Why the big problems now? "Greens" getting big money from American foundations to stop the development of Canada's resources. The greens are making up an industry, to support themselves.

Build the dang pipelines, a refinery or two, and some nuclear plants while we are at it. With natural gas below $3, expect the "greens" to ramp up their protests against fracking.

Go Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador! Don't let the "greens" stop the enrichment of our society for our children. (Using typical lefty emotional argument here.)

Has Iggy Lost The Catholic Vote?

Usually Catholics vote Liberal, I'm not sure why, but they do. Has that trend changed? I think it has. Door knocking last election, it was clear that the Chinese vote was shifting to the Conservatives, now I think the Catholic vote is also going towards Harper.

Take my Liberal parents for example. They think Trudeau walked on water. So, imagine my surprise when they wanted a plaque from PM Harper to commemorate their 60th wedding anniversary. My Mom didn't want one from the Pope, she doesn't like him (I agree), she didn't want one from Gordon Campbell, but she agreed to one from PM Harper.

My Dad actually said that Dion was better than Iggy. He was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus, so he takes religion seriously. What finally got through to my parents was Iggy calling for abortions to third world nations. They were totally disgusted with his stance. Obviously the attempt by the Liberals to paint PM Harper as anti-abortion has failed badly with Catholics.

I have never seen my parents change so quickly. I usually get a good fight out of my Dad on anything Conservative, but this time I couldn't get him to argue with me. It made for family harmony, but it was boring not being able to disagree on politics with my Dad.

Now, my Uncle was a different story, he wants the 19B over 20 years for air support to go towards child poverty instead. When I turned to him and told him we would always have child poverty because it has become a profitable industry, he was speechless. He supports the NDP, and as such is a pie in the sky idealist.

Overall, BC is looking good for the Conservatives. I can tell you, when my parents think PM Harper is doing a good job, a long time barrier has been broken. They really do not like Iggy and will either vote Conservative, or refuse to vote at all. Polls can not accurately measure the true feeling on the ground.

My parents were also mad about the opposition keeping "tough on crime" legislation from being passed. They want more to be done not less, like not letting the Tamil boat into Canadian territory. The idea of a majority is now a reality, especially in the west.

Log It Baby, Log It!

Back from Kelowna, had a great Christmas with my family. No snow there for Christmas, it was actually depressing. I prefer 30 below with snow and sun, than 5 below and no snow or sun.

Every time we make the journey from Edmonton to Kelowna, I notice our huge carbon sink, called trees, we have trillions of them, maybe even gazillions of them, but we get no credit for them from the IPCC and idiotic organizations like Suzuki, and Pembina.

OTTAWA - Canadians rely partly on our nation's forests to help save the world's climate. Now evidence says it's time to stop.

In Canada we know we burn too much coal, gas and oil, creating the "greenhouse'' gas called carbon dioxide.

But we have learned for years that in the fight against climate change, this country's vast forests too many trees to count pull carbon dioxide out of the air again, locking it up as solid carbon in branches, roots and trunks.

Just one problem, scientists now say. It's largely wrong.

We noticed an increased level of logging activity in BC. It's about time! Log it! Why not, the eco-nuts tell us that Canada's forests are not a carbon sink. Fine, then we can log it all we want. Right?

These idiots are so determined to make CO2 the big bad wolf of global warming, that they have turned some of us off on conservation. If we are all going to die in 2012, might as well make hay while the going is good. Oopps, hay is bad.

And in farming, reduced tillage can prevent carbon loss because disturbing soil accelerates the release of carbon into the atmosphere. "It's been estimated that we've lost a billion tons of carbon from our prairie soils during the 20th century due to sustained cultivation of soil," said Grant. "That's five years of our current emissions." He added that putting unused fields under grass rather than allowing them to lie fallow is also helpful.

Notice this guy uses Suzuki as a source... that pretty much says it all about this "expert".

So, let me get this right. Alberta needs to shut down the "tar" sands, we need to stop planting wheat, and we need to kill all those flatulent cows, buffalo, pigs, and chickens. Even if we do all that, we will still be the bad guys because we are red neck Conservatives who believe in the "live and let live" ideology.

Yikes, frozen water? I thought the Arctic was melting and here we have road side waterfalls that have frozen solid.

Some other photos for my eastern friends who have never had the chance to see the Rockies up close and personal.

This mountain clearly shows the force that created it.

Downtown Banff from our hotel window:

Notice the "maybe" language these "experts" use? If the science supported them, they would be saying things like we are "positive" that..., but they can't because global warming is a money transfer scheme.

If trees are not a carbon sink like the "experts" at the U of A are telling us, then log them baby, log them!!! If 40 billion acres of trees has nothing to do with CO2 consumption, then let's grow veggies, that should make the eco-nuts happy!

Is Western Canada The Land Of Galt?

I have read of the recent surge in the sales of "Atlas Shrugged", so I wonder where in North America would the entrepreneurs have the best chance of shrugging off the liberal shackles? Think about it. California? Ontario? Quebec? Where would you escape? Where do you want to raise your children to give them the best chance to excel? Where in North America would John Galt choose to relocate, and take all the talent with him?

Are you going to be here?

Organizers plan confronation for banned Brit MP (That would be confrontation)
TORONTO -- Organizers of the four-city speaking tour of British anti-war MP George Galloway are going to challenge the decision to bar him from Canada in court.

The organizers also say if that fails, they've already prepared plan B.

Organizers are to announce Monday they will file an emergency injunction in Ontario federal court on Tuesday seeking to overturn Citizenship and Immigration Canada's entry ban on the outspoken politician.

Should that fail, a delegation of Canadian MPs, lawyers and activists is assembling to escort Galloway from the U.S., where he is on tour, across the Canadian border.

Do you see yourself marching in support of a terrorist sympathizer? Right, me neither. It will be interesting to see which MP's attend. Then we have these guys:

Groups seek closer checks on police profiling

The Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation recommend in a joint statement that Canadian policing and security agencies record such characteristics as race, age and gender after they make such decisions as sending someone to a secondary search or pulling someone out of a line at a border crossing.

So, we have terrorist supporters good, profiling bad. Don't want any terrorist to get their feelings hurt now do we? Let's not forget the MP going to a gun club meeting, this is a very very bad thing, not like MP's supporting terrorists, that is a good thing!

Tories, stop being Liberals

Quit pap-spouting over shooting club's plan to raffle off a handgun and address the real issue

The fact opposition politicians and Toronto's left-leaning mayor, David Miller, along with the normally sensible Mayor Hazel McCallion of Mississauga, were given a golden opportunity to deflect public attention away from the very real problem of violent, urban, gun crime, and the failure of all levels of government to address it, was, for them, a huge bonus.

Even better, by their lights, they got to attack both Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Conservative MP Garry Breitkreuz, the latter probably the most knowledgable politician in Canada about the utter failure of the federal long gun and handgun registries to effectively combat violent, urban, street crime.

Those are just a few examples of how out of control the lefties have become. So, where can a person go to escape? Think Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and large areas of BC. Think rural Ontario, but unfortunately Ontario is where most of the protesters are, so even though most people living in Ontario are conservative minded, they get tarred with the lefty brush. Notice that cities are more prone to spawn lefties as are universities, they yell about "freedom of speech" but it means only freedom to speak if you agree with their point of view.

We call Alberta "God's Country", maybe it should be renamed to "Galt Country"! Many people will be looking to find a place to go to that is not just mouthing freedom, but lives it, and that is western Canada. It should not be "Who is John Galt", it should be "Where is John Galt".
