Alison Redford Gets Egg On Her Face!

Poor Red Ali. The first thing she did, when "elected", was go to Ontario and Quebec, both ruled by Liberals like herself, and try to sign them up to a National Energy Program. It looked like she had them onside, and when she called for help from Dalton, he dropped her off the cliff, and didn't even pretend to throw her a rope to save herself. Even Steady Eddie got more respect then she did from Dalton.

TORONTO — Ontario would prefer a lower dollar over a growing oil and gas industry in Western Canada, Premier Dalton McGuinty said Monday as he rejected calls from his Alberta counterpart to do more to publicly defend the oilsands.
"The only reason the dollar is high, it's a petro dollar, driven by the global demand for oil and gas to be sourced in Western Canada," McGuinty told reporters.
"If I had my preferences as to whether we have a rapidly growing oil and gas sector in the West or a lower dollar benefiting Ontario, I stand with the lower dollar."
Dalton the Dolt should take Econ101. The strong Canadian dollar is because of the weakened US dollar, not the oil sands. The oil sands were in operation while the Canadian dollar was at 65 cents, why is it a problem now?

Maybe Dalton should look at his own "green" policies to see how they are increasing the cost of manufacturing before blaming Alberta. How are those heating bills Ontario? He should also understand than most of the manufacturing that Alberta has been needing is being supplied by Ontario manufacturers. Unfortunately, he only thinks that manufacturing means cars. He is Ontario's problem. Alison is ours..... for now.

A study by the Canadian Energy Research Institute says Ontario enjoys the lion's share of oilsands benefits outside Alberta.
The Calgary-based think-tank says the oilsands will create $63 billion in economic spinoffs in Ontario and create 65,000 jobs over 25 years. It also points to smaller economic benefits and thousands of jobs that will be created in British Columbia and Quebec.
More than 350 Ontario-based companies are suppliers to the oilsands, according to the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers.
What would happen to Ontario is we started ordering all those trucks, pipes and even ball bearings from the US instead? After all, Ontario buys 0% of our oil. They get it from Iran and Saudi Arabia, those wonderful countries that love freedom, especially for women!

Ontario is in big trouble, they need to rebuild their manufacturing industries, and when Alberta comes knocking, they turn their backs, and pretend that they are better than us, because they are ordering wind turbines from Korea. Why didn't "green" Dalton get them built in Ontario? How did Alberta, who is now helping to support Ontario with equalization payments, become the bad guy? Oops forgot we are Conservatives......The PC's are Conservative in name only and Alison is a blood relative to Liberal Dalton.

Alison got a huge shock today. She thought her eastern tour of Liberal leaders had given her the big advantage against Danielle. She now looks like the country bumpkin that went to the big city, got in trouble, and found out that nobody would help her.

Both Alison and Dalton are just as deluded if they think that they can continue to spend without any political consequences.

Red Ali will come home to lick the wounds that she inflicted on herself, and she better not expect any sympathy. She was the one who said, just after she got elected that she didn't want to "interfere" with the US process on the Keystone pipeline. Now she wants Ontario and Quebec to help? Why? They have nothing to do with Alberta and what we do with our resources. We do not need their "help". Alberta can survive without the east, they can not survive without us.

Alison Redford, is not the person we need to lead us into the future, she is a relic from the past, we need fresh blood, fresh energy, fresh approaches to old problems. We need a big broom to sweep out the old, dusty, arrogant, and incompetent PC's. It's time for Alberta to wake up, to smell the winds of change, and grab that ribbon as it sails towards a new and actually Conservative future.

Get excited about voting for Wildrose! Feel the positive change that you can bring to our dynamic province, and most importantly understand that a true Conservative like Danielle, would never be caught begging a Liberal Premier like Alison just did with Dalton, only to get slapped down.

Talk about getting egg on your face!

You Have To Love Kenney!

Amnesty International has become a far left organization that sees anything Conservative as a threat to their mission of world domination. They are a joke. They are about as believable as Greenpeace, who are neither green or peaceful.

The ninnies are trying to get President Bush declared a "war criminal". What idiots. Add all their IQ's together and you might get to 118, but that is debatable.

"When I joined AI (Amnesty International) in high school, it was to defend the rights of political dissidents like Andrei Sakharov and to oppose brutal regimes, including those still doing bloody business in Iran and North Korea," Kenny wrote. "I am disappointed to learn you are now squandering the moral authority accrued in those campaigns on targeting one of the most generous immigration systems in the world, and protesting the actions of Canadian public servants applying rules and laws that far exceed our international obligations."

Candice Malcolm, spokeswoman for Kenney, told QMI Agency Thursday, "I note that Amnesty International did not seek a court order barring Fidel Castro, who, according to AI themselves, has led a regime guilty of 'arbitrary arrests, detention and criminal prosecution,' as well as 'unfair sentences, harassment and intimidation of critics,' and use of the death penalty for individuals 'trying to flee the island'; or barring the 1999 visit of late Togolese dictator Gnassingbe Eyadema, who human rights organizations accused of operating a 'state of terror.'
Kenney gives it to them with both barrels, (oh dear, I mentioned a gun part!) good for him and Kenney's spokeswoman...way to go Candice, call them on the facts. Lefties can't deal with facts, they are all about emotions. Emotions do not solve anything, but whining and crying about an issue looks good.....to other lefties.

I would be interested to know who funds Amnesty. Do they take blood money from dictatorships? How clean are they? Why do they go after the democratic countries and not Saudi Arabia? HA!

Finally, I am really sorry Ontario, but look at the bright side, Dalton will have to fix the deficit that his government created. In a minority, he will be reined in to a certain extent. Dalton will have to eat it.

Blame Alberta!

Will the Liberals never learn? Are they so egotistical that they think people still listen to their lies? I understand that Ontario is having an election, but what does Alberta have to do with their election?

Well, it seems that Dalton wants to do what Liberals always do, blame Alberta. Trudeau gave us the finger, and instituted the transfer of oil wealth from Alberta to the east, using the National Energy Program. It killed our oil industry overnight, people committed suicide, walked away from their homes and swore to never vote Liberal ever again. The mention of Trudeau leaves a sickening smell in the noses of people in Alberta.

So, what does Dalton do? He proclaims, without any evidence at all, that the east has been supporting the oil industry for "decades".

Funny, it now appears that the west is supporting the rest of the country, but Dalton is trying to use that old Liberal trick of divide and lie. Why do Liberals hate the west? What have we ever done to them but shovel huge amounts of money towards the east?

Even though Ontario is now a "have not" province, they deny it, but still take the wests money. Ontario has a provincial debt of over 200 Billion dollars, Quebec over 500 Billion, and Alberta zero, yet somehow it is Alberta's fault that Ontario is on the rocks? Somehow Alberta is to blame for Dalton's bad management of Ontario?

Well good luck with that tactic Dalton, Ontario is going to hand you your pink slip no matter how hard you slam Alberta. We here in Alberta are cheering on our fellow Conservatives in Ontario. We know it is time to clean out the barn, slop the pigs, and shout "heehaw" because the Liberal brand is dead.

Good luck in trying to divide our country Dalton, you are truly an unfortunate mistake of nature.

From Alberta With Love!

I want to take this opportunity to thank Ontario. You could have gone the way of Quebec, and voted for the NDP. You could have continued to vote for the Liberal party, like PEI and Newfoundland, but you came out in record numbers to support Prime Minister Harper and the Conservatives. Thank you. You saved our country.

You have become a "have not" province under the rule of McGuinty, yet you refuse to give up. You could have taken the easy route and voted NDP for all the "goodies" they offered, you refused. You showed all of Canada that the pioneer spirit still beats strong in your hearts. You showed Canada that you might be a "have not" province right now, but you are not willing to continue down that path.

I want you to know that Alberta has your back. Finally, provinces are not being divided for political reasons. You have supported Canada for most of our existence with equalization payments, and now that you need them, look west, we are with you. Together the east and the west can make Canada spectacular! Our independent spirits are alive and we are now joined instead of alienated.

We are not different, like the politicians and media want us to believe. You saw through the hype and joined with us to go forward instead of back. Without you, we would have had PM Layton. Thank you Ontario. God has blessed Canada.

Why Would You Vote Liberal?

As families meet around the table this Easter, I hope they talk about the two clear choices they have before them, a majority Conservative government or a coalition. This is not a vote for your favorite party type election, this is an election about Canada. This is an election about your kids, and grandchildren, it's about leaving them a country that is a leader in the world, not a piker. It's about rewarding those who work hard for the betterment of our country, and not supporting the separatist Bloc.

Canadians have been guided gently through an economic crisis that the US is still feeling. Our Prime Minister has been fighting not only the opposition but also the biased media everyday, every minute, since he has been elected. He has shown class and patience with an opposition that feels it is their duty to oppose everything his government proposes. He has given everything for this country, without asking for anything back. He has governed in fairness to all Canadians. He is now asking Canadians to give him acknowledgment for a job well done by giving him a majority. He has been open and candid about his hopes for a chance to govern for 4 quiet years, so he can continue to move Canada into the spotlight as one of the best countries in the world.

Are Canadians so petty that they will not vote Conservative because they fear a "hidden agenda" but think a coalition including the Bloc is okay? Are Canadians, supposedly one of the happiest nations in the world, so deceived by the biased media that they actually believe the slop they are selling?

What has PM Harper ever done to you, except govern this country better than anyone of us could hope to do? I am sickened by the "Harper Haters" who bash him constantly for petty little things like not showing everyone on TV that he actually ate the "wafer" at a funeral Mass. Sad little people with tiny little minds.

Our Prime Minister has made this country proud, he has taken a strong stance for Israel (loosing a seat at the security council because of his support for Israel), he has supported our military like no PM in recent history, and he has not bowed down to the separatists. He is asking for one small thing, a majority, so he can govern without fear of another election in 6 months.

As Canadians, proud of our country, solid hardworking citizens wanting the best for our children, we can not fail him now!

I am talking to Atlantic Canadians right now. You send your young people to the west because there are jobs here. That is how I met my husband, he came from PEI to Alberta over 25 years ago, and he is still here. Why would you vote Liberal?

Many people from Newfoundland come to work here and send their pay cheques home, improving the lives of all people living in Newfoundland. Why would you vote Liberal?

I ask you to consider what your lives would be like if the Liberals or NDP imposed a cap and trade on the oil industry. Alberta would be closed down once again, NEP II. Your jobs would disappear, and no more pay cheques would be arriving in Newfoundland or PEI. Think carefully about how you vote.

Ontario voters need to understand that if the oil industry is over regulated, they will move their operations to Venezuela and all those jobs manufacturing tiny little bearings or huge tires for the oil sands will dry up. Think carefully about how you vote.

Albertans are some of the staunchest supporters of Canada. Don't let us down!

Think carefully before you vote, Canada is too important to let petty, partisan politics destroy this country.

Biased Media Making Up The News?

Seriously, a group of anti-Harper protesters get booted out of a Conservative rally, and it is PM Harper's fault? Is that all the media has? They looked like whiny babies. WHAAA. How about them questioning Iggy on the WEST KILLING carbon tax and his lack of support for the military?

I find it interesting that the opposition brought down the Conservative government on a vote of non-confidence because of "contempt" by the government, but that didn't play very well, so the media have gone back to the faux scandals, like the wafergate, the Odagate, the _______ (fill in the blank) gate. The media is going for the emotional issues, because they know PM Harper will win on the economy and tax issues. BOO HOO a pro-Iggy supporter got asked to leave a Harper rally. Now she is a victim? Give me a break.

On Sunday, the Liberals released their "red book" and it stank, that's why the media is trying to change the channel. They don't want us to know about the cap and trade/carbon tax that the Liberals (and NDP) want to impose on the west. They don't want us to know about how the Liberals will gut the military, AGAIN!

Here is one of the best blog postings I have seen totally destroying the "red book". Some highlights:

The current Fleece Merchants obviously consider Pierre Trudeau, who almost bankrupted Canada, to have been a piker. This time around, the Liberals will do a much better job of bankrupting Canada and extracting every last cent from our wallets.

Traditional Liberal supporters and money holes like First Nations/Aboriginals/Metis, Artists and "free money" outlets (Council for Arts), the Civil Service and special (entitlement) interest groups are favoured in the Liberal income re-distribution scam.

But there's more! By re-positioning far to the left of the NDP's platform, the Liberal Party has to cater to a host of new supporters, and welcome back all their old supporters, at a large cost to you and me. Examples include:
Go check out this blog post to see the examples, it's a must read.

The slimy media has nothing to do but attack PM Harper for something he had no control over, and American Iggy couldn't help but slam him, smugly, in a Tim Horton's. You are not fooling anyone Iggy, blue sweater or not, you are a snob!

PM Harper has done a terrific job during a very challenging time, where every country took a hit. We have come out of it quicker than any other country thanks to his management. (Lefty trolls will say it was Martin who is responsible, but the Liberals has been out of power for 5 years, they just haven't gotten used to it yet).

Why did the opposition cause this election? To attain power. Simple.

How? By any means possible, like a coalition. This time they won't actually sign a document, but if you have ever watched the committees where they have the MAJORITY, you will understand how they collaborate to make Parliament dysfunctional.

Both the Liberals ( in their red book of tricks) and the NDP have come out saying they want to shut down the oil sands. NEP II. This will not sit well with the west, but we have so few votes that we have to rely on Ontario to help us out. Think about this, PEI has 4 MP's when their population would only actually deserve 1 MP. Little PEI is more powerful than Alberta, the engine that is driving our economy. Alberta is getting smoking hot again, this means more revenue for the feds, our deficit could disappear sooner than projected, unless the coalition gets elected.

Now the Liberals/media are attacking a very good ad by the Conservatives, because they use the flag that Iggy called a beer can label. They are disgusting, and the media is pandering to them so badly no Conservative can watch them anymore.

Bring on Sun News!

Alberta Rocks.....Again!

Okay, I hate to rub it into Ontario's nose, but Alberta won the Brier once again, with a rookie team!

Alberta stuns Ontario in Brier final

HALIFAX – Draw to the pin to win.

With the adrenalin pumping and perhaps your one and only chance to win the Brier on the line, drawing to the button is easier said than done.

But Kevin Koe did it here Sunday night to give Alberta a 6-5 win over Glenn Howard to win the province a third consecutive Tim Hortons Brier.

It came down to the last rock in the eleventh end, but Alberta won. Congrats to the Koe team.

One thing I did notice was all the empty seats throughout the tournament, shame on you Halifax. Even the final game had empty seats, and the crowd was pretty quiet. Maybe they didn't have a Brier Patch, or maybe they did and that is where everyone hung out.

Why isn't CTV covering the paralympics like they did the Olympics? These athletes are even better than the none handicapped athletes. They have so much more drive and ambition, they should be highlighted, instead CTV is ignoring them. Shame on CTV. They are making our paralympic athletes into second class citizens and that should never happen.

Sorry Ontario, maybe next year!

Is Western Canada The Land Of Galt?

I have read of the recent surge in the sales of "Atlas Shrugged", so I wonder where in North America would the entrepreneurs have the best chance of shrugging off the liberal shackles? Think about it. California? Ontario? Quebec? Where would you escape? Where do you want to raise your children to give them the best chance to excel? Where in North America would John Galt choose to relocate, and take all the talent with him?

Are you going to be here?

Organizers plan confronation for banned Brit MP (That would be confrontation)
TORONTO -- Organizers of the four-city speaking tour of British anti-war MP George Galloway are going to challenge the decision to bar him from Canada in court.

The organizers also say if that fails, they've already prepared plan B.

Organizers are to announce Monday they will file an emergency injunction in Ontario federal court on Tuesday seeking to overturn Citizenship and Immigration Canada's entry ban on the outspoken politician.

Should that fail, a delegation of Canadian MPs, lawyers and activists is assembling to escort Galloway from the U.S., where he is on tour, across the Canadian border.

Do you see yourself marching in support of a terrorist sympathizer? Right, me neither. It will be interesting to see which MP's attend. Then we have these guys:

Groups seek closer checks on police profiling

The Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation recommend in a joint statement that Canadian policing and security agencies record such characteristics as race, age and gender after they make such decisions as sending someone to a secondary search or pulling someone out of a line at a border crossing.

So, we have terrorist supporters good, profiling bad. Don't want any terrorist to get their feelings hurt now do we? Let's not forget the MP going to a gun club meeting, this is a very very bad thing, not like MP's supporting terrorists, that is a good thing!

Tories, stop being Liberals

Quit pap-spouting over shooting club's plan to raffle off a handgun and address the real issue

The fact opposition politicians and Toronto's left-leaning mayor, David Miller, along with the normally sensible Mayor Hazel McCallion of Mississauga, were given a golden opportunity to deflect public attention away from the very real problem of violent, urban, gun crime, and the failure of all levels of government to address it, was, for them, a huge bonus.

Even better, by their lights, they got to attack both Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Conservative MP Garry Breitkreuz, the latter probably the most knowledgable politician in Canada about the utter failure of the federal long gun and handgun registries to effectively combat violent, urban, street crime.

Those are just a few examples of how out of control the lefties have become. So, where can a person go to escape? Think Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and large areas of BC. Think rural Ontario, but unfortunately Ontario is where most of the protesters are, so even though most people living in Ontario are conservative minded, they get tarred with the lefty brush. Notice that cities are more prone to spawn lefties as are universities, they yell about "freedom of speech" but it means only freedom to speak if you agree with their point of view.

We call Alberta "God's Country", maybe it should be renamed to "Galt Country"! Many people will be looking to find a place to go to that is not just mouthing freedom, but lives it, and that is western Canada. It should not be "Who is John Galt", it should be "Where is John Galt".

Ontario Whines, Alberta Quietly Pays!

Dalton whines about how hard done by the average Ontario taxpayer is, and that they deserve more because they give more than any other province in Canada. Well, I beg to differ. There is one quiet province that contributes more per capita than Ontario, they have also paid off all their debts. Now don't believe me, read this short little study, it's a little dated (2005) but it still gives a good picture of the history of equalization payments.

Notice how Alberta was giving way more in payments while the NEP was in force. Then, once our economy was killed, we slump along for awhile leaving Ontario to prop the country up, and then we get going again, and have been paying way more than Ontario for years! We also took a 20% hit to pay off our debt, the media never mentions that little fact.

What will Dion's carbon tax do? Same thing the first NEP did, kill Alberta and leave Ontario holding the bag. Problem is, Ontario is tanking and not able to prop up Canada again, so if Dion's carbon tax kills Alberta, who will step up to the plate? Quebec? HA!

Does the average Ontarian understand this? I think so. I have faith that lots of Canadians understand the Dion carbon tax. They understand it is about stealing from one part of the country to buy votes in another. Do they understand if they help to kill Alberta and Saskatchewan, that no other provinces are able to come to the rescue?

The federal government joins in with Ontario to help with infrastructure, are Ontarians happy?

Toby.
Long over due. Ontario has paid far more than it's share for many years and has been shut out by the Reform Party aka PC. I guess Harper is afraid there just might be an election this fall. This must be really bothering the Western Separatists.

I can only hope that "Toby" is not a good representation of what all Canadians feel.

Jane Taber Stuck On "Progressive"

For Jane, it's all about being "progressive".

Months ago, the provinces got together and most were pushing a "cap and trade" system in Canada, Alberta said NO, we already had one within Alberta, for Alberta, keeping Alberta taxpayers money in Alberta. Well, without Alberta to suck dry, the issue went away, until now. Ontario and Quebec are starting a "cap and trade" system between themselves. I say good, now Ontario can send what money they have left to Quebec. Does McGuinty not understand that Quebec has hydro and Ontario has dirty coal? Jane thinks this is "progressive". I think it is McGuinty being in over his head.

So Ontario will buy credits from Quebec and both "have not" provinces will feel better. According to Jane, this is "progressive". Well, you can take your "progressive" and enjoy! This is Kyoto lite, Canada style. Ontario gives to Quebec, and gets hot air credits in return. Seems regressive not "progressive", but Jane had to refer to her notes so often, I'm pretty sure she has no understanding of the issue. Jane, don't they have a gossip section at the Globe and Mail?

This is a money sucking scheme, except it is Quebec sucking the money from Ontario. No news there.

As an Albertan, I was really ticked off by Jane's, well it's only Alberta brushoff. You sanctimonious latte sipping lefty. Ontario ships it's garbage to the States, Victoria dumps raw sewage into the ocean, but Alberta has the most wind turbines of all provinces combined, and we are forcing oil companies to pay into research development, but Alberta isn't doing enough? Get real. Ontario and Quebec GOOD, Alberta BAD. CTV stuck on dumb, isn't that "progressive"!

Western provinces get together and talk about increasing trade. Ontario and Quebec get together and develop a money transfer scheme.

Jane Taber thinks this is "progressive".
