No Music, PE or Becoming A Canadian.

I wonder how Muslim parents are going to stop their kids from listening to music. No physical education might lead to chubby kids, maybe that's why burkas are so loved. The most important thing to take from this is that those Muslim parents are preventing their children from becoming Canadian.

WINNIPEG— A dozen Muslim families who recently arrived in Canada have told Winnipeg’s Louis Riel School Division that they want their children excused from compulsory elementary school music and coed physical education programs for religious and cultural reasons.
This is why Canadians are becoming so careful around Muslims. We tiptoe around their loud demands, saying nothing, but thinking they are rude. Why is it that most immigrants fit into Canadian culture without any problems, but Muslims can not and will not? Chinese, Europeans, Japanese, Russians, all come here and integrate into Canadian society. What one group doesn't? What one group runs to our HRC's with hurt feelings? What one group wants us to change our life style to accommodate them? Muslims.

I know some Muslims, and they are wonderful people, but their voices are silent against the more violent radical Islamists, so they get branded with the same brush as the radicals.

Thankfully some Muslims are starting to speak out:

However, a local Muslim leader says there is no reason for young kids to be held out of music or phys-ed classes based on religious and cultural grounds.

“Who is advising them? My first concern would be who are these new immigrants talking to?” said Shahina Siddiqui, executive director of the Islamic Social Services. “This is the first time I am hearing this; I’m not very happy about it.”

Siddiqui said there is no problem with elementary-school children taking coed phys-ed, at least “not with little kids under the age of puberty.”

Good for you! Maybe you should talk to those "recent" immigrants and clue them in about being Canadian. We are a tolerant society, but don't confuse that with us being marshmallows, we will fight for our freedoms. If you come to Canada expecting to change it into a failed dictatorship like you just left, don't bother to come, we don't want immigrants who refuse to adapt to our way of life. Send your kids to a Muslim school, and stop whining, it's unbecoming and annoying.

Canada is the best country in the world, if you don't like it, LEAVE.

Horses Versus Daughters

I love rodeos, especially the bull riding, where the bulls usually beat up badly on the cowboys. Unfortunately sometimes, especially with the chuck wagon races, horses get hurt or die.

When that happens, all the PETA people crawl out of the woodwork, and a great cry goes up against the rodeo. Do they not understand that horses love to run? That the bulls usually kick the cowboys butts? That these animals are cared for and loved?

"I'm not a fan. I never have been," said Anderson, who grew up in British Columbia.

Already, two horses have died from heart attacks at the Stampede, one has been euthanized after a shoulder injury and a fourth broke its back from bucking too hard. A rider was also seriously injured.

It's like a side note that a rider, i.e. a human/person was injured. The animals are more important than the humans.

In other news, a mom kills her daughter and walks away. Apparently, horses are more important than daughters.

Putting a Calgary mom who strangled her promiscuous 14-year-old daughter in jail would smack of vengeance, a judge said Thursday, in handing her probation instead.

Justice Sal LoVecchio placed Aset Magomadova on probation for three years ruling the time behind bars sought by the prosecution wasn’t needed.

“The Crown says due to the nature of the act, namely a ligature strangulation and the necessity to address deterrence and denunciation a period of incarceration is necessary to preserve respect for the law,” LoVecchio noted.

“I do not agree,” the Court of Queen’s Bench judge said.

“Deterrence and denunciation may also be addressed without a period of incarceration,” LoVecchio said, in agreeing with defence lawyer Alain Hepner prison wasn’t warranted.

So, an immigrant:

Magomadova sat in the prisoner’s box wiping away tears as a Chechen interpreter translated LoVecchio’s words.
Who can't even speak English, kills her daughter and gets three years probation. This opens the door for every other honour killing. This Liberal judge should be called before a human rights tribunal (isn't that their purpose) to explain how a murder is okay because the person had a hard life in some other country. I am totally disgusted with this ruling. She should be deported back to where ever she came from, she does not deserve to be considered a Canadian.

Liberal judges, ensuring a Conservative majority!

All Successful Societies Have A Vigor!

That is a very true statement, one I agree with wholeheartedly. We need to ask how vigorous is Canada, Europe, or the US? I see two vigorous nations, the US and Australia. Australia for it's outright opposition to the green fanatics, and the US for it's lively debate on health care. Are we seeing any debate about health care or climate change in Canada? No, we are seeing lefty media telling us we should support both, without any facts to support their positions.

Who said that "all successful societies have a vigor"? Mark Steyn. If you have an hour to spare, listen to this.

Conversation with History!

I know it's from 2007, but it is still relevant.

It's time for Canada to show some vigor. We need to stop sleepwalking through life and get involved. Stop expecting the government to take your hand and guide you through life. Start using your brains and making your own way in life. Trust me, you will feel better about yourself and your life.

Start small. Plant a tomato plant. Harvest the rewards.

You know those homeless people and druggies? Give them a blue bag and get them cleaning our streets. Heartless? No, I bet they will feel useful for once.

When we were in Vancouver this summer, we went to the aquarium and then I told my boys how they would love to walk through Chinatown. I remembered it as a very dynamic, friendly and interesting place. Imagine our surprise when all we saw were druggies stumbling around at 11:00 in the morning. The place was a wasteland, all businesses were closed...permanently. We drove out of the area as fast as we could.

All successful societies have a vigor.....where has ours gone? Are we so happy being a little mini-European socialist society that we no longer care about our future? Talk to your grandparents, they knew what it meant to be pioneers, they knew what vigor was all about, it was about survival, and they made it, they survived.

What do immigrants expect now? What do they contribute to Canada? If they are the new pioneers, what are they building?

Meeting Jason Kenney.

I went to a BBQ for James Rajotte last night and Jason Kenney was the guest speaker. He is an excellent speaker, and from what I understand James and Jason share an apartment in Ottawa, and they are both messy guys. They are also both single, so ladies, take a serious look at those two guys. They are both sweethearts! (Okay you two, your on your own from here.)HA!

My neighbour came with me because my husband is a political deadbeat. Her husband and her were in a refugee camp, and when asked, decided that Canada would be a great place to go. They have never regretted it, they have raised two children, sent them through university, and are now happy to have their first grandchild.

We sometimes get into heated political debates, but it never hurts our relationship. We are both very opinionated, head strong ladies, but we can't argue with our non-political husbands, so the two of us argue, sparks fly, and then we shake hands afterward.

Now, being that I have never seen any real military conflict in my life, and my neighbour was forced to flee for her life, our views on the military and immigration differ, so I was surprised by her response to Jason Kenney's speech. She loved what he said and wanted to shake his hand. She felt an immediate kinship with what he was saying and finally felt that someone understood immigrants.

Now, if my small sample of one immigrant is representative of other immigrants, Jason Kenney is doing a great job of bringing immigrant votes to the Conservatives, not by bribing them, or scaring them, but by talking to them in their own language. Good job Jason!

Coming To Canada. We're Coming To Canada!

Why do immigrants come to Canada? In the last few months I've had the opportunity to ask that very question. Three different immigrants, from three different countries, asked the same question at three different times, and all three answered the same way.

Safety. Canada is safe. It's a safe place to raise your children.

Now, I understand that this is a very small sample, but I think it shows why people will leave their homes, and come here. Safety.

Rule of law. These immigrants understood that Canada strongly supports the rule of law. They respect that, they want it, they left behind mayham, now they want a strong society that supports fair but strong rules.

You come here, you don't break our laws. Simple and easy for 2 of the immigrants I talked to, because they both came from former Communist countries. They loved the fact that they could vote, without being told how to vote, or who to vote for. They loved being able to tell me they were going to vote Liberal, and I just laughed. They questioned me about politics, and they couldn't believe that they could voice their opinion without someone telling them they were wrong.

Seeing the joy, watching them debate, they were like kids who had built their first fort, or had seen their first snowfall. They understand what having a vote means, more than any Canadian born kid can ever imagine.

Sometimes I think our immigrants understand what it means to be Canadian, better than we Canadians. Safety, that's all they want. A safe place to raise their families. The majority don't want to change our laws, they want the security of knowing our laws will protect them. They want to know that they will not be thrown in jail for no reason. They want peace.

They fight hard to get here, they want to be here, they want their children to have a better life, just like Canadians want for our kids. They sacrifice everything they have to get here, no wonder the majority of immigrants appreciate Canada, more than our children do. We are spoiled, it only takes a few minutes of talking to someone from another country, to understand just how spoiled we are.
