No Music, PE or Becoming A Canadian.

I wonder how Muslim parents are going to stop their kids from listening to music. No physical education might lead to chubby kids, maybe that's why burkas are so loved. The most important thing to take from this is that those Muslim parents are preventing their children from becoming Canadian.

WINNIPEG— A dozen Muslim families who recently arrived in Canada have told Winnipeg’s Louis Riel School Division that they want their children excused from compulsory elementary school music and coed physical education programs for religious and cultural reasons.
This is why Canadians are becoming so careful around Muslims. We tiptoe around their loud demands, saying nothing, but thinking they are rude. Why is it that most immigrants fit into Canadian culture without any problems, but Muslims can not and will not? Chinese, Europeans, Japanese, Russians, all come here and integrate into Canadian society. What one group doesn't? What one group runs to our HRC's with hurt feelings? What one group wants us to change our life style to accommodate them? Muslims.

I know some Muslims, and they are wonderful people, but their voices are silent against the more violent radical Islamists, so they get branded with the same brush as the radicals.

Thankfully some Muslims are starting to speak out:

However, a local Muslim leader says there is no reason for young kids to be held out of music or phys-ed classes based on religious and cultural grounds.

“Who is advising them? My first concern would be who are these new immigrants talking to?” said Shahina Siddiqui, executive director of the Islamic Social Services. “This is the first time I am hearing this; I’m not very happy about it.”

Siddiqui said there is no problem with elementary-school children taking coed phys-ed, at least “not with little kids under the age of puberty.”

Good for you! Maybe you should talk to those "recent" immigrants and clue them in about being Canadian. We are a tolerant society, but don't confuse that with us being marshmallows, we will fight for our freedoms. If you come to Canada expecting to change it into a failed dictatorship like you just left, don't bother to come, we don't want immigrants who refuse to adapt to our way of life. Send your kids to a Muslim school, and stop whining, it's unbecoming and annoying.

Canada is the best country in the world, if you don't like it, LEAVE.

We Either Live Together, Or We Die Together!

I haven't seen enough newspapers running this article, and they should.
Egypt's Muslims attend Coptic Christmas mass, serving as "human shields"
Muslims turned up in droves for the Coptic Christmas mass Thursday night, offering their bodies, and lives, as “shields” to Egypt’s threatened Christian community
....
Egypt’s majority Muslim population stuck to its word Thursday night. What had been a promise of solidarity to the weary Coptic community, was honoured, when thousands of Muslims showed up at Coptic Christmas eve mass services in churches around the country and at candle light vigils held outside. (see photo gallery)

From the well-known to the unknown, Muslims had offered their bodies as “human shields” for last night’s mass, making a pledge to collectively fight the threat of Islamic militants and towards an Egypt free from sectarian strife.

“We either live together, or we die together,” was the sloganeering genius of Mohamed El-Sawy, a Muslim arts tycoon whose cultural centre distributed flyers at churches in Cairo Thursday night, and who has been credited with first floating the “human shield” idea.

Good for the silent Muslims, we have finally heard from them, and they are courageous.

Father Forgive Them...

For they know not what they do. Education is clearly necessary for some people in this world. Ignorance is winning, and dictators are making sure that "their" people remain ignorant. Sudan is a perfect example, the voting is being done with symbols, not words, as most of the people can't read. Can you believe that in this day and age, people can't read or write? That is how the dictators remain in power.

It is also how the Imams keep "their" people ignorant. They use the power of speech to subdue or inflame those who can not read or write. It is all about power not about religion. No wonder the power hungry lefties support the backwards preaching of the Imams, they crave power too.

Pope Benedict XVI has called for Pakistan to repeal its anti-blasphemy law and demanded that governments in predominantly Muslim countries do much more to protect minority Christians from violent attacks.
The blasphemy laws are designed to allow Muslims to control and kill minorities. The Pope needed to come out strongly against a law that is designed to allow minorities in Muslim countries to be persecuted and killed. It's not just Christians who are being threatened, it is also other Muslim sects and especially women. As a female, I shudder to even think about living in a Muslim country. It would be so repressive and down right terrifying. Violence can erupt at anytime and bombs are not reserved just for non-believers.

An influential religious party in Pakistan said the pontiff's remarks were offensive and amounted to interfering in Pakistan's internal affairs.

"The pope has given a statement today that has not only offended the 180 million Muslims in Pakistan, it has also hurt the sentiments of the entire Islamic world," said Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, a senior leader of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).

"This is an interference in Pakistan's internal matters ... we respect the pope, being head of Christians and their religion, but he should also refrain from interfering in Muslims' religious affairs."

Here is the main problem, religious parties interfering in the business of the state. Hurt feelings? Give me a break! If you were less primitive and more respectful of your mother's, wives, and daughters, you might not be so limited as human beings. No wonder the educated Muslims are fleeing to Canada and the United States, they understand that they have to get their children out of those repressive Muslim countries if they want their children to live without fear.

May southern Sudan vote to separate, so that their children can live without fear of being a minority in a Muslim country. I pray that they achieve the freedom they deserve, and will be able to peacefully live next to northern Sudan. The vote is only one step towards independence, but it is a huge step. Makes our Quebec Bloc seem very irrelevant in the whole scheme of things doesn't it?

Free University, Free Housing, Free Drugs!

That's the lefty mantra. Free anything for votes. How realistic is all this free stuff?

Not very. Let's take free university as an example. Only 75% of high school kids graduate. What would happen if those 75% got free tuition? Salaries would go down, because many university jobs are non-union.

Lets talk about lawyers. We already have too many of them because they have no quotes, so the value of a law degree is depreciated. Imagine everyone who wants to go to university can because of no tuition. All those university students shouting for free everything, would get nothing because their degrees would become useless, just like an arts degree is today.

If everyone gets into university, the degree becomes worthless.

And Obama Bows On..

This is the religion of peace. That is what we have been told, and that is what we are to believe.

What's with the whacking someone over the head with a sword? Notice the kids who are old enough to understand it, reject it. Fanatics. Sickos.

Why did the world not respond, when Iran erupted? We could have saved them.

Now Iran will not allow inspectors into it's country. Nuclear weapons in the hands of a tyrant, a recipe for disaster. And Obama bows on.

Copenhagen is all the rage. Even though the science has been corrupted, they still want the money to keep flowing. They are willing to divert money from education and health care on a false premise. Forget about Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Lefties, can't see the truth right in front of their eyes. They are suicidal. They hate the freedom of the west so much that they want to destroy it. They march with Hezbollah, a terrorist organization.

However, the Montreal event has been described as being anti-Israeli in tone, with Hezbollah flags on display, and some demonstrators chanting support for the organization, which calls for the destruction of Israel and is banned by the Canadian government.

Politicians attending the Montreal rally included Liberal MP Denis Coderre, who represents a downtown Montreal riding and is a supporter of Liberal leadership contender Michael Ignatieff, as well as Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe and Parti Quebecois leader Andre Boisclair.

Progressives, they think they will be the leaders in a new world. They want the UN to rule everyone. They think they will be exempt from the coming fury. They are wrong. And Obama bows on.

Is He A Muslim?

I really don't know, but he doesn't help himself by supporting them.

There are some obvious cutoffs to make him seem more radical, but so many statements in only a year makes all those statements more powerful.

I started out saying that I liked Obama as a person, but didn't like his policies. I now understand that he is as phony as a $3 bill. He is an empty suit. He is a disaster. He is the American Dion/Iggy.

Thank goodness that Canadians are waking up to what far left Liberals/NDP have done to our country, and they are fighting back. Quebec separatists are taking a pounding as well. Could we finally have a country that is working together for all Canadians?

H/T to Jen.

A Simple Fix To The Priest Problem.

I have accused Islam of making women slaves, because a husband can starve his wife if she refuses his advances. Or the family can kill her if she goes out without a male relative. Can you imagine as a female in Canada, having those rules imposed upon you?

In fairness, I now have to turn my viewfinder to Catholic Priests.

The Catholic faith does not allow Priests to marry, I have disagreed with this policy for over 30 years. It is my biggest problem with my faith. The Catholic Church is losing Priests, and no young people want to become Priests anymore. It used to be a joyous occasion if a son went into the Priesthood. Mom's used to encourage their sons to enter the Church. That day is gone, as it should be. Asking a man to deny all sexual contact with females, is wrong. Same with making Nuns take a vow of chastity, to serve God. You can serve God while married, and serve your parishioners better because you will understand their problems better.

How can a married couple having problems in their marriage, go to a Priest who has never been married or had children? He can't understand the issues at the most basic level because he has never been in any situation even close to marriage. They can read all the books they want, but until they have lived the life, they can only spout theories or refer to their parents marriage. It is not healthy to isolate our Priests and expect them to become saints, without sexual feelings.

One of my favorite Priests was re-assigned to a Church in north Edmonton by a Monseigneur who didn't like him. Actually, without him, I probably wouldn't have gotten married because my non-Catholic hubby didn't like any of the Priests, except for this smoking, drinking, Newfoundlander. Talking to the Priest after Church we found out he had no help in moving him to his new parish, so we told him we would help.

Saturday arrived, we pulled up with our truck, ready for a full day of moving the Priest to his new home. He had 4 boxes including his clothes. It took us one trip. I will never forget, leaving him, with his few belongings, in a strange place, where no one bothered to come to greet him. It was heartbreaking.

That Sunday we made a special trip to his new parish to listen to his Mass. He saw us in the back and thanked us for our support. You see Priests are people too. They have feelings, and suffer from anxiety when moving to a new "job" just like everyone does.

Just like Muslims who follow Islam need to get the radical elements under control, Catholics can not sweep bad behaviour under the rug either. Thankfully Catholics have matured from the crusader days, but they still need to change in one very important way...let their Priests and Nuns marry if they want to. Being Ukrainian, I remember their Priests being able to marry, none of them have been accused of abuse that I know of. Jewish rabbis, who can marry, seem to be abuse free as well. It seems to be a pattern.

If the Catholic Church wants to grow, they need to allow their Priests to marry. No young guy these days, is going to decide to give up marriage to follow God, and I don't think God expects that of them. Marriage for our Priests would be healthier than expecting them to forget they are males, same goes for the Nuns, expected to be married to God.

A simple fix to the Priest problem, let them marry!

So, All Is Quiet.

They thought people would erupt, they watched, and nothing happened.

Canadian officials feared backlash to film on Islam: reports

Canadian security officials closely monitored last year's release of a Dutch film about Islam, fearing it could spark violent protests, documents released under the Access to Information Act show.

The National Post has obtained copies of seven intelligence reports, circulated by Ottawa last year, that warn of a possible backlash against the documentary Fitna and Danish cartoons of the Muslim prophet Muhammad.

Why no backlash? Could it be that radical Muslims in Canada hold no power? Could it be that moderate Muslims have finally started to quietly accept a new way of life here in Canada?

Canada did not experience the anti-cartoon violence that shook Europe and the Muslim world in 2006. Canadian newspapers did not reprint the Danish images at that time and protests in Halifax, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto were peaceful.

Canadian newspapers did not reprint the Danish images? Hello, they didn't because they were yellow bellied, but one magazine, the Western Standard, did in fact publish the cartoons, and Ezra Levant spent years fighting the Alberta human rights commission because of one radical Muslim who's feelings were hurt.

Additional intelligence reports followed in May and June but no violence ever occurred. "Overall, the Canadian reaction to these publications has been limited," said a "Secret" report dated May 14.

Canadian Muslims "feel that although the cartoons and films like Fitna are undesirable and inappropriate, ongoing dialogue and peaceful demonstration is preferable to violent protest," it added.

Yesterday, the Dutch prosecution service said it would not lay charges against Mr. Wilders for republishing the cartoons on his website since the images were not offensive to Muslims and did not incite hatred.

Ongoing dialogue and peaceful demonstration is preferable to violent protest? Absolutely! I hope this common sense approach continues to create a positive dialogue within the Canadian Muslim community. The Muslims I know are gentle people.

Her Name Was Neda!

I was busy today shopping, getting a Father's Day gift with one of my boys, and generally going about life as I know it. Boring, predictable, and uninspiring, but that's not a bad thing.

Neda, was protesting with some friends, and by now we have all seen the video of her death. You can actually see the light go out of her eyes. Like the guy who stood in front of a tank in China, Neda's death will be the rallying point for the world. Let us hope she did not die for nothing.

"Neda, don't be afraid. Neda, don't be afraid. (There is yelling and screaming.) Neda, stay with me. Neda stay with me!"
I found some very good coverage of what is going on at the Huffington Post of all places. If you have not seen the video of Neda dying, it is there, with lots of other videos. I am still upset from watching it, so make sure you really want to see it.

The Canadian MSM has been more interested in what Iggy thinks about EI, and rubber duckies, than reporting what is happening in Iran. I am waiting for all the massive rallies across the world, protesting the unfair election and the treatment of the protesters. SILENCE. Muslims erupted into massive protests because of some cartoons, where are they now? Where is the support throughout the world for those who are trying to gain democratic rights in Iran? SILENCE.

It is time for Muslims to take up the cause. Those Muslims living in free society who can and have protested without fear of being killed, must now, show us that they want freedom for all Muslims. We are waiting for a sign that Muslims understand what freedom and democracy actually mean.

One thing that stood out for me was the number a females marching in the protests. Neda was one of them. I doubt I would have been as brave. I sit here in a quiet, peaceful country and I can not imagine what made Neda feel so strongly that she went out and protested the election. May the person who killed her live in torment for the rest of their lives and beyond. Why does the song "Four Dead In Ohio" keep running through my head?

Neda, I never knew you, but I watched you die. Your death will be remembered, may it be the rallying cry of a people who just want a quiet, peaceful country to live in.

Deeply Disturbing On Many Levels

I came home from work and watched the deeply disturbing clip Fatna posted on SDA's and numerous other sites. It made me sick to my very soul. Evil people, with evil purposes, are running amok in our society today.

Fanatics must be stopped. They are harming millions of people. The Muslims I know, are gentle people who just want the same respect for their religion that anyone else here in Canada gets. I fear that all who practice their religion, will be tarred with the same brush as the extremists. That should not happen, and only Muslims can make sure it doesn't.

It is time for Muslims to stand up and condemn the radicals, to report the fanatics, to take their religion back from the dark warriors and give it back to Muslims. If there are to be riots, let it be riots against the radicals. I fear that's too much to hope for.

I have not read the Quran, so I can not condemn it. Muslims MUST explain it. They must explain how it is the religion of peace, not just tell us it is.

I fear most for the gentle women who cover up their hair, just like devout Jews do, just like our Nuns used to, they more than Muslim men will be targets of ridicule. Funny how the men can blend with others, but their women are made to stick out.

Religion through the centuries, has been used as the excuse for wars, witch hunts, and the destruction of societies, that should never happen again.

This Is Going To Bug The Lefties

Easter is a very joyful time for Christians. It seems that others agree.

Pope baptizes prominent Italian Muslim

VATICAN CITY -- Italy's most prominent Muslim commentator, a journalist with iconoclastic views such as support for Israel, converted to Roman Catholicism Saturday when the pope baptized him at an Easter service.

As a choir sang, Pope Benedict XVI poured holy water over Magdi Allam's head and said a brief prayer in Latin.

"We no longer stand alongside or in opposition to one another," Benedict said in a homily reflecting on the meaning of baptism. "Thus faith is a force for peace and reconciliation in the world: distances between people are overcome, in the Lord we have become close."

Christians and Muslims are not far apart in their beliefs, as this baptism shows. It is interesting that he converted at Easter, a time of renewal. May he finally find a true home with the Catholic Church.

Why is his conversion more believable than Obama's? I guess for me it is because he was baptized by the Pope. I am sure many do not respect the Pope as much as I do, but compare him to Obama's preacher, then decide.

Happy Easter, and God Bless.
