“But I’ve seen a few that might heat up your Cheerios a little.”

How ethical is this? What an eyesore! Deep gouges in the earth, no trees, tailing ponds, a blight on our earth. A non-renewable resource that is being dug up as fast as people are demanding it! The solution, environmentalists tell us is to stop production. I agree! If people would stop buying it, the companies would not be making obscene profits, and wildlife would not be threatened.
A new book by Ezra Levant called "Ethical Oil" makes the case that Alberta oilsands are the most ethical in the world. Why do environmentalists and greenies pick on Canada? If it's not our seal hunt they are japping about, it's the oilsands. Why have they been quiet about the Gulf oil spill? Why aren't they over in China protesting their coal mines? Why are they quiet about this:

All those pictures are not the Alberta oilsands, it's pictures of mining operations for granite! That very popular, must have kitchen countertop! Granite! It is a non-renewable resource, that companies in the US, Italy, Brazil and India, to name a few, are digging up as fast as they can to meet the ever increasing demand from households and businesses.

That's not the worse of it. Granite is actually dangerous.

“It’s not that all granite is dangerous,” said Stanley Liebert, the quality assurance director at CMT Laboratories in Clifton Park, N.Y., who took radiation measurements at Dr. Sugarman’s house. “But I’ve seen a few that might heat up your Cheerios a little.”

Allegations that granite countertops may emit dangerous levels of radon and radiation have been raised periodically over the past decade, mostly by makers and distributors of competing countertop materials. The Marble Institute of America has said such claims are “ludicrous” because although granite is known to contain uranium and other radioactive materials like thorium and potassium, the amounts in countertops are not enough to pose a health threat.

.....

The E.P.A. recommends taking action if radon gas levels in the home exceeds 4 picocuries per liter of air (a measure of radioactive emission); about the same risk for cancer as smoking a half a pack of cigarettes per day. In Dr. Sugarman’s kitchen, the readings were 100 picocuries per liter. In her basement, where radon readings are expected to be higher because the gas usually seeps into homes from decaying uranium underground, the readings were 6 picocuries per liter.
So, forget granite countertops in my home. I wonder if Suzuki has granite in his homes? How about Green May?

I wonder when the environmentalists are going to start shouting about the radon in granite, it being a non-renewable resource, and how mining granite is killing the environment and destroying the natural habitat? Right..... I'm not holding my breath waiting, I prefer my cheerios cold and safe to eat.

Munk..eys! May and Monbiot

I watched the Munk debate tonight. The deniers, spouted statistics from Al Gore and declared the discussion over, of course the deniers were May and Monbiot. May was funny, she totally wigged out, seriously she lost her cool, and showed a real dislike of Bjorn Lomborg. It might have been because he wiped the floor with her sad, outdated, and now we know corrupted statistics and fear mongering.

Why did May stay standing the whole time? It was very distracting. My female view? Her dress was too tight and she couldn't get her butt up onto the chair. Go to the site and watch for yourself.

Bjorn was great! He got the M&M's off course and talking about poverty. The debate question was, "be it resolved that climate change is mankind's "defining" crisis", it appeared to me that even the M&M's didn't agree with that statement. Lord Lawson was a very stabilizing influence. Monbiot relied on emotions. The M&M's started the night at 61%, the results are not in yet, but if they lose even one point, they lost the debate.

There is a poll out (results not up yet on Harris/Decima) about what we think of this issue.

The poll asked Canadians if they agreed or disagreed with a resolution to be debated Tuesday during the fourth Munk Debate in Toronto, that: “Climate change is mankind’s defining crisis, and demands a commensurate response.”

Nearly two thirds of Canadians agreed while 31% disagreed. A tiny fraction had no opinion.

“I think it shows the extent to which not just the environment, but the actual issue of climate change, has ascended up the public agenda to point where it is reminiscent of those other big causes that have shaped a lot of Canadian history,” said Rudyard Griffiths, co-organizer of the Munk Debates.
........
The poll suggests nearly two thirds of people think humans will be able to adapt to climate change. Half of those surveyed also agreed the money Canada spends on climate change would be better spent on health care and national debt.

So, 50% of people want the money spent on health care and debt instead? Just proves that we will agree that climate change is an issue, but when it comes right down to it, we don't want to spend any "REAL" money on it. I told you the other day that I had answered a Harris poll about climate change this might have been it, except this poll was supposedly done online, not over the phone, and it was done from Nov 12 to 15th, way earlier than last week. Wonder if they were re-polling using the same questions to see if the leaked emails had changed anything.

Yesterday I pointed you to this website, with an article by Monbiot, defaming our oilsands, which he has never seen in person. He wrote this from Toronto!!! HA. He might as well have saved his carbon footprint and stayed in the UK. Does he have the guts to come here and view the seeping oilsands that in their natural state are an environmental disaster, polluting our rivers and allowing nothing to grow. It is a dead land, even the wildlife avoids the area, unless.....

For a blast from the past, read an old blog of mine that is still very relevant today. Pay very close attention to the pictures, and read the surprise ending.

Going Back In Time!

These clips are a wonderful glimpse back into a time many of us were too young to understand or care about.

First up, a very young Stephen Harper, love the hair:

Next we get Trudeau.

What an arrogant A$$Hole. Funny thing is that the Liberals still love him (Iggy was wearing a Trudeau button at the gay parade if I remember correctly) and they are shining up Trudeau 2 for the next Liberal leader. Trudeau was a Cuba loving socialist who did more damage to our country than any other Prime Minister in our history.

Think charter of rights for everybody but Canadians and non-freedoms. Think property rights....we have none. Think Human Rights Commissions. Watch the dynamic duo score point after point against uninformed MP's.

">Watch these videos, it's important to Canadians to understand how clueless our MP's are on an issue that should be a no brainer. Not one MP thinks they should take control of the HRC's. Numb nuts, is the best way I can describe the MP's on this issue.

I wonder if my MP is as ignorant of the facts of these cases as those on the panel? Has he read Shakedown, has he ever gone to Ezra's blog to educate himself? Clearly none of these MP's have.

Is your MP more worried about the "perception" of attacking the HRC's, or their job? I am tired of the Alberta MP's being marshmallows, what do they have to lose by stepping up, 3% of the vote? Yikes that means they will only be elected by 65% instead of 68%. Buy some guts, or you are going to go the same way as the Alberta PC's next election. Our Alberta MP's who mainly got in as Reformers, have forgotten why we elected them. They are ignoring their roots. They are ignoring their base. If Stephen Harper is relying on the Alberta MP's to get the Alberta vote, he might want to come out here to hear from us, because some of our MP's are invisible. They are sucking up the money, and forgetting who they represent.

I suspect that no one will listen, it's all about Ontario now. At least Quebec will be on the outside. If they vote Bloq or Liberal, they get left out of the majority, therefore they get no power at all. Maybe they will understand how the west has felt for decades.

One more, back to the future video, featuring Lizzy May:

She was uninformed then, she still has no clue about reality. She thought shouting and drowning out her opponent made her point...hummm, reminds me of the last leadership debates. Lizzy has not matured, she is still that young kid who thought she was right, and would not listen to any other point of view.

Parachuted Into A Riding?

Short post tonight because I was tied up talking to my youngest about girls. It was a fun discussion. The kid is really level headed. One female living with 3 males can get challenging...for the males. HA!

I love this cartoon about Green Lizzy:

Seeing as I mentioned kids, be on the lookout for H1N1, known as swine flu, if your kid looks like this in the morning:

KEEP THEM HOME!!

It's not even Friday yet, but I couldn't help myself. (Lefties, this is a joke!)

As far as the big scoop that the Liberals got by secretly video taping PM Harper's speech? We need more of those secret tapes. Seriously, CBC is so Liberal friendly that they don't even realize that they broadcast the Conservative message across Canada today...good work CBC, for once. Keep those secret tapes coming.

Call An Election? What A Stupid Idea!

I get tired of linking to an article from some lefty newspaper so that I can make a point and getting bombarded by lefty trolls. This is a personal blog, and my opinions are mine. You can agree or disagree with what I say, but because of bad behaviour the lefties now have no say. Recently I have had to go on full moderation because those lefty trolls just wanted to disrupt my blog, they had nothing useful to say, except HAHAHAHAHAHA.

I started this blog because I was so disgusted with the Liberals stealing our tax dollars. This is not a fabrication on my part, we all know they stole the money, put it into brown envelopes and gave it to Liberals in Quebec.

So, the lefties try very hard to disrupt our messages. If they dislike something, they will call you a racist. This happened just about daily on my blog, until I was forced to go to comment moderation. That was their goal, to shut me down, to stop my voice. It is not just me, it is every Conservative blogger who stands up for our principles that they hit. Reminds me of ACORN, and union thugs, and that is what they are, thugs.

If you dare disagree with a lefty, like the recent protests in the US about health care, you will be targeted. What is funny is that you can see the thugs in action.

The Obama administration was busy pushing the health care bill through until the first Democrats held town hall meetings, and they got blindsided by the outrage of honest Americans. What did they do? Called in ACORN and union thugs to control the message, but it was too late, people had already seen the anger of everyday Americans. Now, town halls are being controlled by the thugs, and Americans are watching. Funny how the tea parties were brushed off by Obama, supposedly he didn't even know they were happening. Tells you how out of step the ONE really is with the pulse of the nation, no wonder they got blindsided by the health care protests, they have no clue.

Let me get this straight. We're going to get a health care plan shoved down our throats that is written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, signed by a president that also hasn't read it, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's nearly broke.

What could possibly go wrong?

Back at home, the media is all about the next election. We had one in 2004, 2006, 2008 and now they want one in 2009?? Must be because their ratings are so bad that they are hoping an election will give them a ratings boost. Unfortunately for them and Liberals, Canadians are tired of elections.

Iggy is with the puffins, hiding the Liberal droppings. Jacko is trying to rename his socialist party, without mentioning socialist. Lizzy is busy picking out another house in a new riding that she will LOVE, and it will feel like home to her (Where does she get all this money for new homes in new ridings?). Meanwhile, PM Harper is defending our Arctic, meeting with world leaders and getting us out of a recession.

Call an election? What a stupid idea.

Demographics? Careful Now.

I'm sure some other blogging tory has already posted this video. So, if it's a repeat, it's one worth watching again. It totally backs up what Mark Steyn was referring to in "America Alone".

What amazes me is that this video was posted March 30, 2009 only 5 months ago, and it already has over 10 million hits. It is factual, and that makes it hard to dispute.

Is it scary? As a female and a Catholic, I think yes it is. You see, I can believe in what my Church preaches, but that gives my Church NO power over how I vote. My parents vote Liberal, and they are devout Catholics, they should be against the Liberals because of their support of abortion, but they aren't, and that's their right. The separation of Church and politics is a very good thing in our society.

When a demographic becomes too overwhelming, will it mean changes forced on the minority, like sharia law? Females should be very scared of that happening. Feminists, who trumpeted womens rights should be worried about our female Muslims who are suffering from discrimination and a lack of education. They are considered slaves by Islam, only good for breeding. Well we all know that feminists don't like breeders, so maybe that is why they do so little to defend Muslim women.

I'm starting to think that feminists will probably welcome burkas, actually....Lizzy May might use that to her advantage in the next election. HA! (Okay, cheap shot, but I couldn't resist!) Think about it, do you want to see feminists burning their bras and posing nude for global warming pictures or wearing a burka? Yikes!
