PM Harper's Trip Has Americans Worried.

Interesting that all of a sudden, the US is waking up to the fact that Canada is not the 57th State (Obama making stuff up) they have been led to believe. They seem shocked that Canada now has a backbone after years of lame America bashing by the Liberals.

Obama has bowed down to a Saudi "King", but has turned his back on Americas best friend, Canada. Maybe it's payback for our relentless bashing of America and their Presidents. Funny how it was perfectly okay for Liberal MP's to sneer at G.W. Bush, but if any Conservative MP dared to say what a loser Obama is, he would be crucified by the media. Obama's decision on the Keystone pipeline was so blatantly about politics even a 7 year old could understand his motives, but our lefty media didn't say a bad thing about his decision. We get it. Obama = good, Harper = bad.

It has now become a huge election issue in the States. Expect Obama to reverse his decision just before the election, if polls show him losing ground. It's a shame that people's livelihoods have taken second place to the politics of the Keystone pipeline. Maybe America is starting to wake up though:

As it turns out, the environmental movement doesn’t just want to shut down Keystone.  Its real goal, as I discovered when I spoke recently to Michael Brune, the executive director of the Sierra Club, is much bigger.  “The effort to stop Keystone is part of a broader effort to stop the expansion of the tar sands,” Brune said.  “It is based on choking off the ability to find markets for tar sands oil.”
This is a ludicrous goal.  If it were to succeed, it would be deeply damaging to the national interest of both Canada and the United States.  But it has no chance of succeeding.  Energy is the single most important industry in Canada.  Three-quarters of the Canadian public agree with the Harper government’s diversification strategy.  China’s “thirst” for oil is hardly going to be deterred by the Sierra Club. And the Harper government views the continued development of the tar sands as a national strategic priority.
Thus, at least one country in North America understands where its national interests lie.  Too bad it’s not us.
Read the whole article, it is one of the best commentaries on the Keystone pipelines I have read to date. He should be named an honorary Canadian, he understands the issue so well.

So there you have it, in plain language, the environmentalists want to shut down the oil sands, no matter what the cost to our economy. They are idiots, plain and simple. They are do nothings who do not understand even the basics about how people survive or how the economy works.

Energy, Canada's future, and greenies want to shut it down. No wonder they don't want kids, they understand that they are killing future generations chances of ever surviving, the next baby ice age.

I Guess..... It's "Game On"!

“We’re repulsed by some of our supposed brothers and sisters lining up with job killers like the Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council to destroy the lives of working men and women,” LIUNA General President Terry O’Sullivan said in a statement.
.......
Many unions — including the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Teamsters, the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters for the United States and Canada and others — support the pipeline. But some labor groups, including the Amalgamated Transit Union and the Transport Workers Union, oppose it.

LIUNA’s decision to leave the BlueGreen Alliance comes just two days after President Obama rejected Keystone, blaming the decision on a 60-day deadline imposed by Republicans. The GOP has vowed to work to reverse the decision legislatively.

It seems that the labour unions are waking up to how uncompromising environmental groups really are. The environmentalists don't care about jobs because they get millions in donations for wrapping themselves in a "green" blanket. Unions are about jobs for their workers who rely on the jobs to support their families and communities. The environmentalists are never happy, unless a bird is being chopped up in their heavily subsidized wind turbines. Forget saving the seals, SAVE the eagles! Environmentalists should be out planting trees, if they really actually cared about pollution. Plants suck up CO2 don't you know!  Like this:

Just like the environmentalists still use 20 year old pictures of white baby seals being clubbed, they will NEVER, EVER show you the reclamation of the oil sands... that would seriously hurt their fund raising. Some of those trees are 20 years old now, but the "greenies" just can't live in the present. Telling the truth would mean that about 90% of them would be unemployed, if you call going around the world, in a polar bear suit, making an a$$ of yourself, employed.

Here is another article that shows how unhappy Americans are with Obama's decision:

By rejecting the Keystone XL oil pipeline, President Obama did more than just pander to environmentalists. He shredded attempts by his handlers to cast him as a pragmatic and reasonable man who can appeal to independent voters.
Instead, he stands naked as an ideologue willing to sacrifice workers on the altar of special-interest politics.
Thousands of jobs were cast aside with no more thought than yesterday’s socks. Demolished, too, is the promised commitment to energy independence.
I especially like this response from one of the comments:

Cancun, Who Are The Deniers Now?

Look at those Sierra Club juveniles, burying their heads in the sand. Do they not understand economics? Maybe when their funding disappears and they can't afford to go to the next beach party, they might grow-up and understand that they are the ones damaging the poorest nations by refusing to let them develop and use cheap power.

Few heads of state are expected to attend this year's talks – in sharp contrast to the summit in Copenhagen. However, Hugo Chávez, president of Venezuela, Rafael Correa, president of Ecuador, and Bolivia's Evo Morales have said they will be there. All were accused by Gordon Brown of "holding the world to ransom" at the Copenhagen talks. They will be joined by the presidents of Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil and Guatemala.
Who would have guessed that Hugo Chavez would be there bleating for money. Gordon Brown was right about "holding the world to ransom"!

Someone has to pull the plug on the climate scam. Funding needs to be rerouted to REAL pollution problems. Send those Sierra kids to Africa to dig water wells, at least then they will make up for all the pollution that exists because money has been diverted to third world despots.

Last week at Cancun, in an attempt to influence richer countries to agree to give £20billion immediately to poorer ones to offset the results of warming, the US-based International Food Policy Research Institute warned that global temperatures would be 6.5 degrees higher by 2100, leading to rocketing food prices and a decline in production.

Grip of winter: A woman and girl sit under a tree on a bench in South Weald Park, Brentwood, Essex, this week
The maths isn't complicated. If the planet were going to be six degrees hotter by the century's end, it should be getting warmer by 0.6 degrees each decade; if two degrees, then by 0.2 degrees every ten years. Fortunately, it isn't.
Actually, with the exception of 1998 - a 'blip' year when temperatures spiked because of a strong 'El Nino' effect (the cyclical warming of the southern Pacific that affects weather around the world) - the data on the Met Office's and CRU's own websites show that global temperatures have been flat, not for ten, but for the past 15 years.
It's not about pollution or even climate change, it's all about wealth redistribution.

Dictators 1 Canada 0

I am very disappointed that Canada did not get a seat on the security council, not because I wanted us to, but because it shows how regressive the UN has become. What started out as an excellent idea for world peace has denigrated into a bunch of dictators and despots determining policy at the UN.

My lefty office mate laughed when I told him we had withdrawn, he actually laughed, that shows me the low level that lefties have stooped to. They are more interested in winning power, than supporting Canada. They prefer pandering to dictators and bringing Canada down, than actually supporting our government, elected by Canadians.

What no one seems to want to state as the real reason for Canada not getting a seat on the security council, is Canada's strong support of Israel. This would have been a serious problem to Iran, who is intent on getting nuclear weapons. We might have been the deciding vote to allow the bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities. The Muslim countries have a majority, Canada had no chance of winning. Why we even tried is beyond me.

What lefties fail to understand is that Conservatives would prefer a principled stand on the world stage, instead of the Liberal ass kissing of the past.

As far as I'm concerned, let's stop all foreign donations to dictatorships, if, as the lefties tell us, our foreign policy is so wrong, we need to stop aid. I'm sure the NDP will back up new plans to build low income housing with all that saved money!

Could the oil producing Muslim nations be trying to marginalize Canada for their own monetary gains? Are they funding our "green" groups like Sierra Club or Pembina? I don't know, but if we had any real journalists left in Canada, they might write a great article about it.

I asked my hubby about losing the security council spot, he looked at me, and asked if this was something he was supposed to know about. That will be the typical Canadian reaction.

What saddens me most is that the UN has been taken over by countries who think stoning a women to death is a religious obligation. That honour killings are a cultural obligation, and that female's can't go to school or even drive a car. The feminists are strangely silent on this oppression of woman's rights.

This loss for Canada points out how corrupt the UN has become. I say, get out and save taxpayers money.

Let Go or Lock Up?

Activists are getting away with too much because of political correctness. You don't dare arrest these idiots because it would look bad politically. I saw lock em up.

Protesters disrupt Stelmach's fundraising dinner

The Canadian Press

EDMONTON -- As protests go, the timing couldn't have been better.

Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach was just about to deliver an anti-Greenpeace message to a Tory fundraising dinner Thursday, when two Greenpeace activists dropped from the ceiling with a large anti-Stelmach banner.

Talk about the "Canadian Press" crowing. Who are you "Canadian Press"? Two people and another one in the crowd? What juvenile antics. The security firm should also be hung out to dry, how did this incident happen?

The punchline of the premier's speech was how he was planning trips to southern California and central Europe later this year to dispel the Greenpeace message that rapid oilsands development is creating an environmental disaster.

The PUNCHLINE? What a biased piece this is from our mystery "Canadian Press", who is the Nimrod who wrote this article?

This incident should be treated as a serious assault on the Premier of Alberta. This should not be treated as a joke, just because they are part of Greenpeace, or any other activist group. This is despicable behaviour by people who think their cause is more important than the safety of our Premier.

So they got the attention they wanted, I doubt they will get any donations from Alberta residents anytime soon. Maybe we should counter protest these groups by strangling their funding.

This was not funny, this was very upsetting, this was a university style stunt. Grow up you idiots, no one cares about your causes any more because of antics like this.

"We're certainly not going to leave it to Greenpeace or the Sierra Club, because at the end of the day they're not accountable to anybody.''

Exactly, they are not accountable to anybody. They should have been locked up.
