Welcome Home Troops!
I congratulate our troops for the very hard job they had and for accomplishing their goals, with class. Good job troops!
They make Canadians proud. Don't mess with Canadians, our troops are the best in the world.
Two videos that define our troops, and Canada. Oldies, but goodies.

TAPS, Unbelievable Talent!
The conductor of the orchestra is Andre Rieu from Holland . The young lady, her trumpet and her rendition of TAPS makes your hair stand on end.
Many of you may never have heard taps played in its entirety, for all of the Men and Women who have died for you to have the freedom you have in America . This is an opportunity you won't want to miss and I guarantee you'll never forget.
Amazingly beautiful .. Melissa Venema, age 13, is the trumpet soloist.
Here is 'Taps' played in its entirety. The Original version of Taps was called Last Post, and was written by Daniel Butterfield in 1801. It was rather lengthy and formal, as you will hear in this clip, so in 1862 it was shortened to 24 notes and re-named 'Taps'.
Our military is the backbone of our country. The Liberals decimated them by refusing to fund them for decades. Now, the Conservatives are rebuilding our proud forces, but the lefties are shouting about unnecessary expenditures, like new helicopters and jets, they are pandering to their voters, without caring about Canada. I would prefer 1.1 Billion a year going towards our troops instead of the lame, useless and biased CBC.

Finally, Something For Our Brave Veterans!
Ottawa pledges additional $2-billion for wounded soldiers
The Conservatives plan to pump $2-billion into helping the country’s most severely injured veterans, Veterans Affairs Minister Jean-Pierre Blackburn and Defence Minister Peter MacKay told reporters in Ottawa as they reiterated the government’s support for the Canadian Forces.
“Our support will not end when the soldier leaves the army,” Mr. MacKay said.

Now I urge you all to watch this clip from YouTube, which lays out what I just wrote above. It is part of a five hour documentary from the ichannel several years ago that the cbc or the history channel will never show, showing just how disgusting the liberal government was back in the 1990's and DND as well, keeping quiet the Medak Pocket battle, the war dead, the hundred or so injured, and the fact that soldiers who had been wounded in battle and could no longer function in their units were booted out of the army altogether, some with NO compensation at all. Maybe these military men in the story above don't know their history. I urge them especially to watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3VfSU1rfSE&feature=related
The Liberals treated our troops like dirt. They sent them into impossible situations, than ignored their injuries and deaths. The liberal media helped them in covering up the deaths and injuries these troops, NOT peacekeepers, suffered. Yet, a maybe, possible knowledge of torture by Afghans to Afghans has the Liberals and other socialists in a tizzy.
Let the opposition not forget, that the government of the day does not need their okay to send our troops anywhere deemed necessary by the government of Canada. It is only under PM Harper that they have been given any voice at all, and what do they do with their expanded powers? They slander our troops by accusing them of being complacent with torture. These petty little politicians should never be allowed near our troops, who have more honour in their pinkie finger than any of those Hezbollah/Taliban loving idiots!
I applaud our government for recognizing that our troops need our support not only in battle, but after they have returned home. I know more needs to be done, but this is a great first step.

Lewis Mackenzie for GG!
This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen him give. He totally destroys the lawyer Attaran. I really wonder what Attaran's problem with Canada is, and why is his face red throughout the interview? Is he not used to getting questioned about his support of anti-Canada people?
Lewis Mackenzie destroys Attaran.
Who to believe, an Afghan who saw nothing happen first hand, or the Chief of the Defense Staff? This lawyer has an ax to grind, he likes to listen to himself, and thinks his sh&t doesn't stink. He also wants detailed information released while our troops are still in Afghanistan. I wonder if Attaran knows Warman, they seem to be birds of a feather.
Attaran wraps himself in "law" and Lewis calls him on it. It is a must see interview.
I hope PM Harper sees this interview, because if he does, he will know that Lewis Mackenzie is the perfect candidate for the GG position. He will protect our troops and our country from lawyers who are more interested in condemning our troops and scoring some face time on CTV, Canada's home for gossip!
Attaran gives me the creepy crawler feeling every time I see him. He is NEVER defending Canada or Canadians, and that says a lot to me.

The Cat Is Now Out Of The Bag!
It was obviously a "slip" of the tongue, like Reid's "beer and popcorn" remarks. It was not meant for general consumption, just backroom strategists, but the cat is now out of the bag and will not be herded back in.
The Liberals thought they had something going with the Mulroney-Schreiber affair, that was proved to be NOTHING! They pushed it to the point of the ridiculous, but they thought they were scoring "political" points. WRONG!
Now, they have another cat by the tail, but have coached it in terms of a "hidden" agenda by the Conservatives, accusing them of being complaisant in torture of detainees in Afghanistan. I think we all knew where they were going with this when they chose to believe a low level diplomat over three very well respected Generals. You could smell the stink of burnt cat hair, and I think we all suspected the direction they were taking. We now have proof, blame the government and more despicable, blame our troops, for something they can not prove. It's a smear job of the worse kind.
Here are some interesting reads:
Dr. Roy
Alberta Ardvark
BC Blue
We knew it was just a matter of time before some Liberal blamed our troops. Funny, that's not how the lefties seem to see it. They are already in denial mode, like troll Liberal Supporter:
All he# is breaking out at Aardvark, Dr Roy, BC Blue and NBTorygal fb, re John McCallum accusing our government and our troops of war crimes on the CBC this afternoon in an interview with Suhanna.
The good old "tell part of the story without context" routine, eh?
Of course if you read the article, it is pretty clear it is the highest level of the government that is complicit in war crimes.
Still, it makes your video about calendars pretty silly. It's not about the length of the prorogue. "It's the coverup, stupid".
Tuesday, January 12, 2010 10:27:00 PM
So, LS is accusing the Liberal ex-Minister's of defense of being complicit in war crimes, because it was the Liberals who were in government at the time, and the Conservatives were the ones who cleaned up a bad prisoner transfer agreement. Don't expect the Liberals to admit that little fact though. Funny, I always thought LS supported our troops, I actually got the sense that someone he loved might be in the military, but I guess I was wrong, because no-one who has anyone who is in the military would stand for the way Liberals are smearing our troops, NO ONE!
The dice have been rolled, there is no going back now for the Liberals, they have let the cat out of the bag. I predict that this will not go well for them.

We Owe Them Our Respect.
Every time I hear about another soldier who has been killed, my heart breaks for the family. Their child is gone, he/she feels no more pain, but the family must endure the loss of one too young to be gone.
The slimy disgusting terrorists know that Christmas is a prime time to kill our young ones, they gloat about it, and the journalists report it, without turning them in. I guess a "scoop" is more important than integrity.
The lame stream media deserves to die. I was flabbergasted this Christmas when both my Liberal parents said the CBC should be gone. I never thought I would hear them talk about how bad the CBC was, and they are in their eighties. The LSM are killing themselves with their obvious Liberal bias, do they not understand that Liberals are all talk, no buy papers type of people. Looking at the donations to the Liberal party, they are also all talk, no support with money kinds of people.
It saddens me that the media is more interested in "got-you" moments than actual reporting of facts. I hate to say it, but now that one of their own has died, maybe they will start reporting the truth of what is happening over in Afghanistan.
If the terrorist who laid the bomb that killed 4 soldiers and one journalist was caught, would journalists be crying for his rights? Will journalists get their heads out of the Liberals butts long enough to actually report real news? It appears that they are so dumb that they can't understand why no one is watching them anymore.
Every hour of every day, our troops risk their lives for Canadians.
Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean, too, reacted with sadness to the deaths and injuries.
"This new tragedy, like all those before it, is shocking," she said in a statement early Thursday.
"It reminds us of the underhanded, blind, daily violence facing our Canadian soldiers, journalists and humanitarian workers in Afghanistan, who are working alongside the local population already hard hit by decades of terror.
"Our thoughts are with the families, the loved ones and the colleagues of the deceased. We also wish the injured a prompt recovery."
Funny....underhanded, blind, daily violence....yet the Liberals keep on bleating about one supposed terrorist being hit with a shoe. Keep it up Liberals and your lame media, it is only pushing independents into the Conservative column.
To make the lives of our military a political issue is disgusting. Liberals are so out of touch with Canadians that they think we care about a terrorist being tortured. I wonder if the person who planted the IED that killed 4 of our soldiers and a journalist has been in an Afghan jail and been released. Maybe the opposition can look into that while they are on holidays. Or are they all too busy getting tans in Arizona to really care about Afghanistan?
They have cried wolf so often, that even the wolf won't come when called anymore. The LSM is looking like fools to everyone except die hard lefties. I will not buy any paper that hangs onto the detainee issue. We don't care. The Taliban behead people, they rape young girls before they stone them to death, they are subhuman creatures that deserve to be hit on the head with a shoe. I do not watch CBC or CTV anymore. If companies want their ads to be watched, they better start switching to blogs.
In this new year of 2010, let's make sure that our voices are heard. We can effect change by speaking out. The silent majority needs to get vocal.
We need to hear about real heroes:

As We Sit Down To Enjoy The Fruits Of Our Farmers Labour.....
We are really blessed to live in Canada. Thanksgiving is a holiday that ALL Canadians can celebrate. There is no banning of Thanksgiving like there is of Christmas. No lefties protesting Thanksgiving, or making it a politically correct holiday.
I thank our troops for protecting us and others who are not able to protect themselves. I hope that the women and children in Afghanistan will soon be as free as the women and children in Canada.
I thank those refugees and immigrants that come here to make Canada a better place. Those who come to reform us to their way of thinking are not welcome.
Most often we forget to thank our farmers for the bounty that we receive from their efforts. They toil from before dawn to late into the night to provide us with the food we need to stay alive. You try getting up at 5 o'clock every morning, in 30 below weather, to feed the stock or milk the cows. I know that people in cities, who buy everything from the freezer section of the supermarket, don't really connect it with those red-necked farmers, but they should, they are the providers of life. Could you please remember in your Thanksgiving prayers to thank our farmers, who give you what you need to sustain your life.
Look around you and appreciate what we as Canadians enjoy, a peaceful life. Stand on guard against those who want to do harm to our nation. Do not fall for the silver tongued politicians who promise everything and deliver nothing. Look to yourselves and your family for sustenance, not your government. Do for yourself. This is not selfish, it removes you as a burden to society allowing more help for those who can not do for themselves.
I thank my Lord for looking down and protecting us. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

Curahee!
The NATO troops are doing an excellent job. Unfortunately, some countries are not pulling their weight in Afghanistan. Our Canadian troops are doing an excellent job, and we need to acknowledge their sacrifices for Canada and the citizens of Afghanistan. Americans have also been fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Here is one very inspiring story:
To all our Canadian troops, all I can say is, thank you. We hear about the ones who die, but no one takes the time to talk to those who have been wounded. Those who have been injured in our fight against terrorists, need to be acknowledged, not shuffled into the back rooms. We do not see the harm that can happen to our troops, we are blind to the danger. We need to support all those who have served our country, not just those who have died, but those who have been wounded. They are the living truth of our fight against terrorists.

A Salute To Our Veterans!
I was pleasantly surprised when I asked my oldest son today if he knew what D-Day was about. He knew about Juno and that Canadian soldiers were feared by the Germans for their superior fighting skills. I told him how impressed I was that they had studied it in school. He quickly corrected my misconception, it was the internet he had gotten his information from, not the school. He has been busy studying globalization in school, not history. On his own, he has researched our military history. Good for him! Shame on our schools. History is important and getting the perspective of people from 65 years ago is very interesting. Here is a radio report from way back in time.
A very quick summary of Canada at war will give you an idea of the valour of our troops.
The Canadians had to fight every step of the way to Caen and Carpiquet airfield. At one point they faced the elite 12 S.S. panzer division manned by young German fanatics commanded by experienced officers and non commissioned troops. But the Canadians Triumphed and on July 10th, Caen was liberated by Canadian and British forces.
They are not teaching this in school, even when I was in school years ago, our proud history as a fighting nation was not taught, luckily I enjoyed reading and a book (can't remember which one now) about the Battle of The Bulge and the Diary of Anne Frank, woke me up to the fact that socialism was a threat to freedom.
Much as I dislike CTV, today they provided really good coverage of the D-day ceremonies. I suspect that they were forced to because they wanted to cover Obama, and it just happened that PM Harper was there as well. Go and listen to both PM Harpers speech and President Obamas speech (On the right side you can select the videos).
Both speeches were very good, I noticed that PM Harper actually spoke from his heart. You know that he genuinely supports our troops and understands that we must stand strong as a nation against any terrorist threats.
President Obama, a noted orator, was speaking the words, but his delivery was flat. He read the speech that someone else wrote but there was no passion, no conviction, no fire.
I want to thank our veterans for keeping Canada safe. What an incredible job our troops do. Maybe Canada has never suffered from a terrorist attack because they know we are warriors at heart, and that we will never back down from a fight we believe in. That is why I get so upset about the NDP and the Bloc, they weaken our country by their sickening passivity. The Liberals only support something they think will gain them votes, that might be even worse than being pacifists.
To our troops from yesterday and those fighting today....THANK YOU.

My Pick Of The Year!
Silent, sad salute for fallen
PORT HOPE — The sound of the three revving engines of the hearses was all that broke the mournful quiet cast along the Highway of Heroes yesterday.
None of the more than 400 men, women and children huddled in the cold across the Ontario St. overpass broke the salute of silence as the convoy of hearses bearing the flag-draped caskets of Sgt. Gregory Kruse, Pte. Michael Freeman and Warrant Officer Gaetan Roberge headed to Toronto.
Please click on the link and watch the video. I can not be there in person, but I am standing there in spirit with you!
I salute our brave troops for upholding Canada's flag with honour and valour. May 2009 be a kinder year for all people involved in conflicts.
