The opposition have to force an election now. They have backed themselves into a corner, in a round room! They think they have the Conservatives on the run, but the Conservatives are sitting back and watching the opposition chase their tails around the "we will not support the budget" tree. The Conservatives will get butter while the opposition parties are going to be sucking on lemons.
The opposition started playing the budget game early. The Liberals were first out of the post saying they would not support it, trying to force the NDP into supporting it. Then the Bloc came out with ridiculous demands to get their support, it's called blackmail in other countries. Then the NDP, nipping at the Liberal heels, stated they wouldn't support it unless their demands were met. The opposition are so busy chasing each other around the "budget" tree, that they are stuck running around chasing their tails and have forgotten about what Canadians might want. Eventually their momentum is going to carry them into the wall, and we will have the opposition sitting stunned and dazed, wondering where they are and how they got there.
Meanwhile, the Conservatives go on governing, calmly, quietly and competently. That is what the voters see, not the opposition hamsters running in the wheel. Personally, I have lost all respect I had for Milliken, glad he is retiring, too bad he couldn't retire with class instead of making partisan rulings meant to hurt the Conservatives. What those rulings did was allow the opposition to play their partisan committee games, where they have the majority and can show all Canadians what a coalition government would look like. Not very impressive when all they want to do is smear the Conservative government.
Opposition should hold the government's feet to the fire, but that's not what they are doing. They are looking for some scandal (one every week) to bring this government down and the MSM is intent on helping them. They are looking like crybabies and fools. Keep it up, it's working in the Conservatives favour.
Forcing an election is the only way the opposition get out of that round room, even though they know when they open that door, they are stepping out into the air, and they have no parachutes to save them.

Post Expense Records ONLINE To Keep MP's INLINE!
If MP's should have the right to look at all military documents in a time of war and potentially cause the troops harm, why can't the taxpayers see the same MP's expense reports?
Something smells bad here. Why aren't the Liberals and NDP shouting about the lack of accountability if MP's expense reports aren't audited by Sheila Fraser? They should be at the Conservatives throats over this issue. Instead we get this garbage from a Liberal MP....
Let's use his argument and turn it to the Afghan issue....
If [documents] were opened to the MP's and open to the public, all of a sudden people would jump to conclusions without having all the facts.
It's apparently a win for DEMOCRACY when the MP's get to see all the documents regarding the Afghan war, but DEMOCRACY would be distorted if the taxpayer got to see what MP's are spending our money on. Silence.
I can understand why the Conservatives would be reluctant to allow the audit. Our biased media would only report on supposed Conservative wrong doings, and give the opposition parties a pass. If you doubt me, why hasn't the media reported on Liberal MP Pablo? Why hasn't CBC or CTV been hammering on his accident where he failed to blow, and was therefore arrested? How about Pat Martins assistant yelling and protesting at the Ann Coulter lecture? Silence.
Given that the media is on the oppositions side, why is the opposition fighting an audit of their expense accounts? They have the majority at committee, they could order it done, but they refuse to allow the audit. What are our MP's hiding? Where is the transparency? The accountability? Silence.
If the opposition is so sure that those Afghan documents are necessary for an understanding of what went on during a war, why are they hiding their expense account documents? Maybe the Speaker needs to rule on this issue, the same way he ruled on the last one...open up the books, it is the taxpayers rights that are being trampled here.
I guess the opposition thinks a witch hunt to find an Afghan hit with a shoe is more important than taxpayers finding out that we have been hit with bricks.
So, if the opposition can whine and use Parliament as a tool to get documents for purely political reasons, then taxpayers want Parliament to do the same with our MP's.
Open up the books! We are not talking chump change here, we are talking about $500,000,000! See all those zeros, that's our money, and we have no clue how it is being spent. Let Sheila audit those books! This refusal looks bad on all parties. I guess the opposition can't find a way to make it so that only the Conservative MP's would be audited, if they could, they would be demanding that Sheila Fraser get a look at the expense accounts. Seeing as how every MP would be treated as equal, they are opposing it.
MP's should post their expense records online, that might keep them inline!!

Prorogue This!
It started out with a suggestion from one of Sandy's posters that we needed a truth ad about prorogation, because the MSM was talking about it being from 4 months to 2 months in length. Then the call went out to citizen journalists to round up some links to video, newspaper articles, and even anyone who knew how to photo shop pictures.
I want to thank everyone who got in the spirit and sent all kinds of links/pictures and suggestions. I especially want to thank Sandy for helping to edit the video, she is very level headed where I tend to go off on partisan tangents. I also want to thank Don, who spent his weekend photo shopping some great pictures...some of which will be used for another project on Olympic MP's! HA!
I had tried to download HI HO HI HO, to add music to the video, but my audio program was acting up. I tried lots of "free" music sites and just couldn't find anything relevant to the video, then it struck me, PM Harper has a song! The more I thought about it, the more I liked it. The PM is singing about "needing someone to love", and the opposition are yapping about Parliament being shut down for 17 days due to proroguing, while they are on vacation. Too subtle?
So, here it is, remember, every minute you watch, takes hours to put together, and it is thanks to all of my and Sandy's posters that I had the material to work with.
I have so much material that a longer version might be possible, but for now, I hope the message is clear.....17 days is NOT 4 months or even 2 months!

Prorogue, Let's Count!
We have heard it's 4 months, or 2 months but who really has counted the days? I have, and I have the calendar's to prove it. This is part of the video that is coming.
Count the days:
Christmas break 32 working days
Olympic break 11 working days
Prorogue 17 working days
Yes, only 17 days not 4 months. So I ask you, what are the opposition so upset about?
Could it be that they want to cover up the fact that Liberal leadership candidates from way back in the Dion race, still have not paid off their loans?
Could it be that they realize that they are about to lose their dominant position in the Senate and might have to pay attention to how they vote from now on?
Funny how the opposition have spun the coalition as a legitimate option for Canadians, but think proroguing Parliament is somehow undemocratic. It has been done 105 times before but because this time it's the Conservatives doing it, it's undemocratic.
The MSM is no better, CTV has 30 seconds of PM Harper talking and 13 MINUTES of Iggy, now that's fair and balanced. They also supplemented that 13 minutes with various experts making the Liberal time even more prevalent. Stop going to CTV, CBC, GlobalTV and all papers you disagree with, stop giving them "hits". Advertisers base their ad placement on "hits" so go over to the National Post multiple times in a day, and do not feed the other media outlets. Boycott bad and biased journalism.

What Has Your MP Done For You Lately?
I was trying to figure out what my MP has done lately, for us, the constituents in his area. I couldn't think of anything off of the top of my head. I did a google search and found this:
James Rajotte, MP for Edmonton Leduc. Standard boiler plate, I'm a great guy stuff.
How many of you have met your MP? How many of you have taken the time to email them about your concerns? How many of you have gone to a town hall meeting?
Most of us go to work, come home and could care less about anything going on in Ottawa. I read on Blogging Tories that the opposition is stuck on the Afghan prisoners being tortured issue like a 45 record, but in my world, I could care less about this issue. Most Canadians are not listening. The polls show that fact. When the Liberals were threatening an election, the Conservatives came close to majority territory. Now that we are back to normal, the Conservatives have gone back to 37% support. Why? Who is paying attention anymore knowing that an election is not likely until 2010/2011. Notice that the Liberals have flat lined, it appears they are dead, or close to it.

Personally, I think the opposition are looking like idiots for harping on the Taliban issue. They thought they had a WINNER with the Mulroney issue. That died when Canadians realized they had been hoodwinked by some very partisan Liberals into thinking this was an issue, and that commission cost us millions. Now, the opposition are yelling for another commission into the Afghan torture issue. Not going to happen. I wonder if Bill Graham the Liberal Minister in charge of Afghanistan in 2006 will be called by the committee, or will the majority opposition block his appearance? Funny how they only listen to one side of the story, and the media only reports that one side.
With all the junk the opposition is throwing at the government, have you emailed your MP? Have you gone to their office and told them what you want to see done? What has your MP done for you lately?
Our MP's are elected by us to carry out our wishes, not the wishes of their party. I applaud any MP who clearly states their position on issues, like abortion.
My MP is apparently suffering from Ottawa flu, because he has forgotten who elects him to represent us, hint, it's the constituents.
Seriously, what has your MP done for you lately? Give me some examples, something to make me feel good about our federal government. What are the bureaucrats doing to make our lives better? What is the department of the environment doing to us.
Three levels of government exist, federal, provincial and municipal. They all suck, like vampires, off of only one taxpayer. US. Those greenies protesting, the arts funding, and the daycare advocates, just to name a few, all suck off of the middle class people who work hard and lead respectful and moral lives. Maybe those people should try living off of the government teat. If they did I bet none of them could afford to go to Copenhagen.
All that money being spent, and I see no benefit from it. Our Conservative MP's are letting swelled heads dictate their agendas, common sense has flown out the window.

Looks Like Another Good Week For PM Harper!
As promised, PM Harper gave an economic update today (go to videos at right). All the Liberals could do was cry about him not being in Parliament to do it. Seriously? That's it? That's their big complaint?
Well, I guess you can forgive them because they are busy building bridges in Quebec. Remember those rickety wooden covered bridges built for the horse and carriage days but now used by cars? How safe are they for a big Mac truck to cross? Seems the Liberals have found out. The bridge will crumble and the resulting damage will cause shock waves all the way to Liberal Toronto.
If the Conservatives got slammed in Quebec for shifting arts funding to different organizations, NOT cutting money, and supporting stronger jail times for repeat criminal offenses of juveniles, what can the Liberals expect?
Still Ignegative plugs along, bringing in a no confidence motion, that the NDP will not support. Does either opposition party actually think they are fooling anyone? Seems not:
Think about how outstanding it is that the Conservatives are still leading the polls, through a recession! Meanwhile the Liberals are fighting out in the open in Quebec, and Toronto, their only two remaining strongholds. Can you smell the desperation of not only the Liberals but the NDP, who are now forced to support the Conservatives in fear of an election. How very weak the opposition is, and it's not going to get better for them anytime soon.
PM Harper was very relaxed today, even joking about not wanting an election, he knows that he can now rule like he has a majority. He can start to let people see that he is actually a very warm and funny person. You do not keep your MP's from revolting by being a dictator, as Ignegative has found out the hard way. So why are the Conservatives so united and the Liberals falling apart? Might it be something called real leadership by PM Harper? I think so. If the opposition votes against the government, I don't think the Conservatives are too worried about an election. HA!
So, sit back with your beer and popcorn and watch the opposition eat their own. Or a bear eating Ignegative! Great job on going green Ignegative!

Judging by these posts, the Liberals are hard at it attacking the Report and Mr Harper before the Report has been given. Even attacking the place the P.M has chosen to given the report.! Well Iggy went out to an empty field to talk about a non issue which the Mayor of Hamilton had to correct the info to the media afterwards..lol. And Iggy had people believing that he posed in a forest when he probably used a backdrop at Walmart for his 'ad campaign ' to the public! What do the Liberals say to this?Get a life folks!

Typical Liberal supporters. Attacking the PM even before he says anything. No different than Ignatieff who says that the update doesn't matter, he will introduce a motion of non-confidence anyway. These are the updates he (Iggy) asked for, and he doesn't have the decency to even listen to them.I hope we get an election so Iggy and his stooges can lose badly, and he can run off to retire in his villa in France.
