Arctic.....Everybody Wants A Piece!

I must admit I hadn't heard about the Arctic Counsel until Hillary blasted Canada for not including it in today's meetings, and with the same breath asked Canada to stay in Afghanistan. The US, making enemies of their friends, at an astonishing rate!

Ms. Clinton's bombshell, delivered in a prepared statement as she was meeting with Mr. Cannon and senior ministers from three other Arctic coastal nations - Denmark, Norway and Russia - cast a cloud over a meeting that was intended to show solidarity among the ocean's five shoreline states and highlight their "unique" position as chief guardians of the region's environment and resource riches.

"Significant international discussions on Arctic issues should include those who have legitimate interests in the region," said Ms. Clinton, "and I hope the Arctic will always showcase our ability to work together, not create new divisions.

"We need all hands on deck because there is a huge amount to do, and not much time to do it. What happens in the Arctic will have broad consequences for the earth and its climate. The melting of sea ice, glaciers and permafrost will affect people and ecosystems around the world," she said, "and understanding how these changes fit together is a task that demands international co-operation."

Well Hillary, good to see you didn't need a teleprompter to read your prepared notes, too bad you can't think about what is good for the Arctic, and it is not the EU! They banned seal, why should they be included in Arctic discussions? Also if you would look on a map, the only true Arctic nations are Canada, US (thanks to Alaska), Russia, Norway and Denmark. Why should Finland be included? Or Iceland, they are in the Atlantic, it appears India and China want in on our resources as well.

To many in the European Union - which was recently blocked by Canada and others from gaining even "observer" status at the Arctic Council because of the continent's ban on seal products - Monday's party-of-five brainstorming session represented a troublesome narrowing of polar interests at a time when the wider world, including China and India, is angling for greater involvement in charting the future of the circumpolar realm.

HA! At least Canada stopped the EU from gaining any status on the Council! Maybe the EU should think about their position... ban seal products worth about 2 million a year, or get your grubby little muckers on some Arctic oil?

Oh, Hillary, the Northwest passage is Canada's waters, NOT international waters, that's what this is all about isn't it? Band together with other countries so you get free sailing through our waters.

If you think that is bad, go to the Arctic Counsel's site and see how many organizations and special interest groups think they should have some say in what we do with our land!

The environmentalists have their sticky little fingers all over this Council.

There are six Working Groups of the Arctic Council:

* Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP)
* Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF)
* Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response (EPPR)
* Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment (PAME)
* Sustainable Development Working Group (SDWG)

No working group on oil drilling? It's an environmentalists dream come true! No wonder only countries who actually have land in the Arctic Ocean were invited, look at just one of the lists of organizations:



Well, well, well, looky there, it's the WWF!! Who would have guessed? These are the organizations that want some say in the Arctic? PM Harper sure is right, if we don't protect it, we will lose it! Not to be left out:



That's right the UN! The snakes are all lined up in the grass, just waiting for the Arctic to melt. Too bad, it's going to get much colder before anyone is going to be cruising through the Northwest passage with anything but a nuclear sub!

Dolphin Massacre!

WARNING graphic pictures, not for young ones. Dolphins you ask? Who would massacre dolphins? Well it seems Denmark kills hundreds of them, who knew?


(It's because of the cruelty that the human beings (civilized humans) kill hundreds of the famous and intelligent Calderon dolphins.)

All we hear from lefty socialists and eco-nuts is how bad Canada's seal hunt is and how the enlightened EU must stop it. Isn't Denmark part of the EU? At least our seal hunters risk their lives on the ice floes to get those seals. This community comes out to watch the slaughter, they even think of it as a right of passage for their youth, and not a peep from the lefty organizations.


(This happens every year in Feroe Iland in Denmark. In this slaughter the main participants are young teens.WHY? A celebration, to show that they are adults and mature!)

Bad Canada, we kill some seals, which number in the 6 million range. Why don't the lefties target Russia? Spineless wimps.

Small Victory For Seals: Russia Moves Towards Banning Baby Seal Hunt

(Moscow, Russia – 27 February 2009) – Russian ministers announced a complete ban on the hunt for ‘whitecoat’ harp seals (pups up to about 11 days old) as the first step in an agreement to end the killing of all baby seals.

LOOK at the date...Feb 2009!! Russia has been killing the "white" coats all this time and no one knew. Canada banned killing of "white" coats way back in 1983, but we are still the bad guys? Notice how the IFAW still uses a picture of a "white" coat at their site. Just like we get pictures of cute little polar bears suffering from global warming.

Have you noticed lately that all the lefty causes are blending together? The WWF, IFAW, PETA, Greenpeace, UNISEF, the list is endless, but they ALL now blame global warming on everyone's and every animals troubles. Money grab? Problem is that they have all aligned themselves with the global warming fraud, and as it crumbles, so does their funding. They can not let us realize what a huge hoax they have been involved in.

How come Canada is put under pressure to stop our seal hunt, but not a word from any lefty organization about this massacre of dolphins? Even snopes says "probably true.


(Is it necessary to mention that the dolphin calderon, like all the other species of dolphins, it's near extinction and they get near men to play and interact. In a way of PURE friendship?)


Hello lefties, see that guy with a pick axe killing that dolphin? Oh, I forgot, it's only our Canadian sealers that use that kind of tool, right?? Hypocrites. Sad little kingdom builders interested in only their own welfare. Just like the Toronto Humane Society appears to be more about themselves than the animals.

It all ties in. Together they have stood as a powerful lobby group, global warmists, animal rights organizations, child rights activists, bug guys, world poverty activists, Al Gore, and scientists. They have all stood together to grab our money for their own profit, and now they stand to lose it all because of climategate. They will fight us as hard as they can, they are looking at BILLIONS, even Trillions being lost. We must make every voter understand that every dollar spent on this fraud is one less on health care or education.

Those Poor Seals? What About Baby Carrots?

While we were in BC we went salmon fishing, and caught two salmon and one shark.
The shark got thrown back into the ocean, the two salmon got clubbed over the head until dead. The crab we caught got it's shell ripped off and innards scrapped out (I think it was dead by then, but I'm not sure, I couldn't look).

Could I have done the clubbing and ripping off of the shell? Nope. Did I enjoy the salmon and crab, you bet! The crab was so sweet, dipped in lemon/garlic butter....YUMMM. Could you eat beef if you had to kill it? Very few of us could actually do the killing, but at least 90% of us will still eat meat. Today I killed a romaine lettuce for caesar salad, and pulled some carrots out of the ground, and yes, they were BABY carrots. My family enjoyed them.

Years ago, I went to my Aunt's farm to help with the cleaning of chickens, it was a stinky, dirty job, but I did it, and took home some fresh, free range chicken for my troubles. Did I like seeing the chickens killed, not in the least. That's what the animal rights groups count on, and that's why they still use 25 year old pictures of cute, white baby seals being clubbed, they know it will disgust us. We saw some seals, in the harbour, just waiting of all the fishermen to come back with their catches, so they could eat the scraps thrown to them. They are pests, but cute, like gophers on the prairies are cute, but pests.


I have never eaten seal, but I also refuse to eat lamb and veal, that's my choice, but I do not impose it on others. I hate kiwi, so I don't eat it. Should it be banned? How about horse? Not going to happen, but where are all the protests against those who eat dogs or cats? Cats...humm...something rings a bell about Liberals and cats. HA!

One of my neighbours gives me moose jerky, I love it, but I'm not about to go out and kill the moose, but once dead, I have no problem cooking and eating it. Think the seal hunt is inhuman? Go to your nearest slaughter house and see what goes on there.

As far as the seal hunt goes, I see it as no worse than the way we kill our domestic animals for food. Read the comments on this article, it seems the majority also supports the seal hunt. The Humane rep. better be careful, because she just called the government reports lies. Maybe these organizations and their representatives should be sued for slander. They had their way too long with the Liberal spineless government, now is the time for their free ride to end. Same with environmentalists saying the polar bears are endangered. They are the ones who are lying.

What happens when the seals start starving because of a population explosion, is a cull okay?
