Traitors Beware!

You have to love this, just for the fact that it will get the lefties panties all wrapped around their heads and stuck in their teeth. They are about to get so spitting mad that it should be hilarious to watch. I hope this passes at the convention just to watch lefty heads explode.

OTTAWA -- The Conservative Party will debate later this month whether to automatically strip violent traitors of their citizenship and try them for high treason.
Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney's Calgary Southeast riding association tabled the resolution. It will be up for debate at the party's national convention here on the weekend of June 10.
While none of the 80 resolutions on the convention's agenda would be binding on the Conservative government -- even if they pass -- they do offer a glimpse into the mindset of some of the party's members.
The treason resolution reads: "The Conservative Party of Canada believes that any Canadian citizen ... who commits treason by taking up arms against the Canadian Forces or the Forces of Canada's Allies automatically invalidates his or her Canadian citizenship or claim to Canadian citizenship and, if and when returned to the jurisdiction of the Canadian Legal System, should be tried for high treason under the Canadian Criminal Code."
High treason carries a life sentence.
And while the resolution doesn't name Omar Khadr, some have dubbed it the "Khadr resolution."

Make sure you watch the video on the left for more information on the resolution.

The question is whether a Canadian, either born here or an immigrant granted Canadian citizenship should be allowed to maintain that citizenship if they are captured fighting against our military. Treason.

Personally if I was at that convention I would vote for the resolution. It would be justice to have Khadr come back to Canada to face high treason charges. It would be a way to keep him in jail for life. Don't give me the sob story about him only being 15 when he killed a US medic. He showed the medic, who was trying to help the wounded, no mercy, he deserves none in return. He is a coward and rivals Charles Manson as the most crazy, and fanatical criminal alive. Notice how the media and lefties never ever call Khadr an actual criminal. He is just a hard done by 15 year old kid who went astray.

The guy looks like an actor from the Planet of the Apes. I wonder if he got free dental work while in prison? Maybe braces? Canadian taxpayers can't afford braces for their kids, because 40 to 50% of our earnings go to the government but a killer can, whats up with that?

Parliament has the right to make the laws of our country. The supreme court can only interpret those laws, they can not make new ones. If a law passed by Parliament contravenes the Charter of Rights, then the Charter should be changed, by Parliament, not the supremes.

Should we bring back the ability to charge people like Khadr with treason to "his" country? You bet we should, why wouldn't we?

Oh, and great job by PM Harper visiting our troops in Afghanistan. It made Layton look like the small little man he is by yelping about the PM not being in Quebec. Layton, get a grip, the Prime Minister of Canada, is a very busy man. Layton is like a rooster in a hen house until the fox shows up.

Friday Night Funnies: Ever Wake Up In Someone Else's Bed?

A while ago a new supermarket opened in Canada.

It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh.

Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant
thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and
you experience the scent of fresh mown hay.

In the meat department there is the aroma of
charcoal-grilled steaks with onions.

When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle,
and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh-baked bread and cookies.

I don't buy toilet paper there anymore.

Three girls all worked in the same office with the same female boss.
Each day, they watched the boss leave work early.
One day, the girls decided that, when the boss left, they would leave right behind her. After all, she never called or came back to work, so how would she know they went home early?

The brunette was thrilled to be home early...she did a little gardening, spent playtime with her son, and went to bed early.
The redhead was elated to be able to get in a quick workout at the spa before meeting a dinner date.

The blonde was happy to get home early and
surprise her husband, but when she got to her
bedroom, she heard a muffled noise from inside.
Slowly and quietly, she cracked open the door and
was mortified to see her husband in bed with her boss!
Gently she closed the door and crept out of the house.
The next day, at their coffee break, the brunette
and redhead planned to leave early again, and they asked the blonde if she was going to go with them.

“No way!” the blonde exclaimed. "I almost got caught yesterday!"

 The Patient Grandfather

A woman in a supermarket is following a  grandfather and his badly behaved 3 year-old grandson.

It's obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child screaming for sweets in the sweet aisle, biscuits in the biscuit aisle; and for fruit, cereal and pop in the other aisles.

Meanwhile, Granddad is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, "Easy, William, we won't be long . .  easy, boy."

Another outburst, and she hears the granddad calmly say, "It's okay, William, just a couple more minutes and we'll be out of here. Hang in there, boy."

At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart, and Granddad says again in a controlled voice,  "William, William, relax buddy, don't get upset. We'll be home in five minutes; stay cool, William."

Very impressed, the woman goes outside where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car.

She said to the elderly gentleman, "It's none of my business, but y ou were amazing in there. I don't know how you did it. That whole time, you kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying things would be okay.  William is very lucky to have you as his grandpa."

"Thanks," said the grandfather, "but I'm William . ... .the little bastard's name is Kevin."

Psalm 2011

Obama Is the shepherd I did not want.

He leadeth me beside the still factories.

He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.

He guideth me in the path of unemployment
For his party's sake.

Yea, Though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.

He has Anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over.

Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.

I'm glad I am American,

I am glad that I am free,

But I wish I was a dog,

  And Obama was a tree ! ! !
--------------------------------------------------------
How close to a train track can you set up a vegetable market?

-------------------------------------------------------
And as the grand finale.........

The largest condom factory in the States burns down.

President Obama is awoken at 4 am by the telephone.

"Sorry to bother you at this hour, Sir, but there is an emergency!
I've just received word that the Durex factory in Washington has burned
to the ground. It is estimated that the entire USA supply of condoms
will be gone by the end of the week."

Obama: "Oh damn! The economy will never be able to cope with all
those unwanted babies. We'll be ruined. We'll have to ship some in from
Mexico."

Telephone voice says, "Bad idea... The Mexicans will have a field day with
this one. We'll be a laughing stock. What about Canada?"

Obama: "Okay, I'll call Stephen Harper and tell him we need five million
condoms, ten inches long and three inches thick. That way, they'll
continue to respect us as Americans."

Three days later, a delighted President Obama runs out to open the
first of the 10,000 boxes that had just arrived.

He finds five million condoms, 10 inches long and 3 inches thick, just as
requested
.... all coloured with red maple leaves with writing on each one:

'MADE IN CANADA - SIZE MEDIUM'

Thankfully, There Was No Big Bang!

We had just watched the news of the day and hubby found Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on the food channel, when a strange sound filled our ears. It sounded like a hot air balloon had landed on our roof. For a moment I thought the end of the world really had arrived, or aliens were landing in our back yard.

Everyone in the neighbourhood rushed outside to listen to this really loud and unusual noise. My husband jumped into his truck to go investigate, and my son went off on his skateboard to his friends house. He was alert enough to take a short video of what was causing the noise.

It was a gas line blowout. Luckily nothing ignited it or I might be writing a whole different story tonight. The blowout occurred between two schools, so expect people to go ballistic tomorrow. That gas line has been there for over 50 years, without incident, but it will become a huge issue now.  I am expecting greenies or aliens at my door any minute now!

The emergency personnel acted promptly and did their jobs. Thanks to them, our neighbourhood is safe again.

I will probably still sleep uneasy tonight, but I am sure by tomorrow everything will be back to normal. Thankfully, there was no big bang!

Petty Bureaucrats And Their Kingdoms!

I understand that some foreign aid is necessary, but should it be politically motivated? Do you only give money to those countries that will support your country at the UN? Do you only support those countries that have the same values as your country? Should countries ruled by dictators receive any taxpayer funds? How do you monitor how your funds are spent? Should lefty activists hiding behind Christian organizations while supporting terrorist organizations be cut off?

The stink raised in the media about Bev Oda's "not" was a good indication of how lefty organizations use the media to cry about funding cuts. Fortunately these organizations are now going to have to become results oriented instead of just lobby groups looking to fill their pockets with taxpayers goodies.

Gone are the days when funding to foreign aid groups is automatic. Now that the Conservatives have a majority, I expect that these organizations will be looked at before they get any funding. I don't mind helping people who need it. What I do mind is organizations that have become parasites, sucking up taxpayer money for their own benefit, without actually helping any of the people they supposedly feel so bad about.

The US is in the same position, do they continue to throw money at countries that hate them?

Years ago, U.N. Ambassador John Bolton proposed cutting off all aid to the 30 nations who consistently voted against the U.S. in the UN. Before him, President Reagan's U.N. Ambassador Jeane Kirkpatrick proposed cutting off $1 million in aid for each vote an aid recipient cast against the U.S. in the U.N. In both cases, Bolton says the State Department overruled them.
"Foreign aid to a lot of countries could be readily cut and I think it's been a mistake by the U.S. government for decades not to take U.N. voting into account," Bolton said Monday.

So, it is the bureaucrats that have the power, not the politicians, that is why Bev Oda was put through the wringer. Petty government workers do not want their little kingdoms changed or challenged.  Let's change how Ottawa works, listen to the Ministers, not the bureaucrats. Give foreign aid to those countries that are working towards democracy and the rule of law. Cut off funding to dictatorships and countries that refuse to use the money to actually help their own citizens. Cut the funding, help our disabled first. The NDP should be happy with voting for that initiative.

How Could I Resist Posting About This?

You all know that I foster seeing eye dogs. They are awesome at helping people with disabilities get back into a productive life. My whole family has been changed for the better by fostering the dogs, and then seeing them graduate. My boys have grown up with dogs that end up leaving us to help others. They have learned the value of volunteering to help others, while experiencing the pain of loss. It has made them more caring and balanced individuals.

You have to be a hard butt to not love this story:

SALMON, Idaho - Michelle Feldstein was prepared to provide special accommodations for the blind horse she recently added to the flightless ducks, clawless cats and homeless llamas inhabiting her animal shelter in Montana.
But nothing could prepare her for the 40-legged, seeing-eye entourage that accompanied “Sissy,” a sightless, 15-year-old quarter horse.
“Sissy came with five goats and five sheep — and they take care of her,” said Feldstein, the force behind Deer Haven Ranch, a private rescue facility she runs with her husband, Al, on 300 acres north of Yellowstone National Park.
The seeing-eye sheep and guard goats are never far from the white mare, and they never lead her astray. They shepherd Sissy to food and water, and angle the horse into her stall amid blowing snows or driving rains.
“They round her up at feeding time and then move aside to make sure she gets to the hay,” Feldstein said. “They show her where the water is and stand between her and the fence to let her know the fence is there.”

Lots of charities talk big and produce nothing but reports. Lots of charities and unions get political and forget why they exist. Some charities actually help the people who need it. The most rewarding charities are those that pair people with animals.

Obama, Iggy Smart.

Canadians could have had an Obama smart Prime Minister if we would have only elected Iggy. We too could be losing friends daily. Like Israel.

“A lasting peace will involve two states for two peoples. The borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed [land] swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states.”

Does the guy understand what that would mean to Israel? The scary thing is that I think he understands clearly that Israel would not be able to defend itself, and that is what he wants. Palestine is not a nation, it is a refugee camp that none of the surrounding Arab nations want to have anything to do with. Israel is somehow the bad guy because during the war in 1967 they actually won and gained land, kind of like the US and Mexico. According to Obama, California should be given back to the Mexicans.

I am proud of Canada's firm stance with Israel. It cost us a seat at the UN security council, but I am shedding no tears about not getting the seat at that corrupt organization. Finally, Canada takes a principled stance in supporting a democratic nation, surrounded by enemies, thanks to PM Harper's leadership. After reading this article, I wonder how Irwin can remain a Liberal.

This past federal election was no different and one aspect of particular interest was the approach taken by the Liberals to once again try to falsify and demonize the record of Prime Minister Harper and the Conservative government on issues relating to Israel. This is especially important given recent events in which President Obama declared as U.S. policy a framework that is as pollyannish and dangerous as it is unworkable.
So offensive was the Liberal campaign tactic that I chose to reach out to correct the record by sending a letter to constituents in the riding where I was working for the local Conservative candidate.

This just highlights the sad state of the Liberal party and Democrats in the US.

Finally we can stand proudly with Israel and not have to apologize for our values. We can support a tiny nation that is under constant bombing from it's neighbours, who will not even acknowledge their right to exist. We do not have to follow what the US is doing, and we have staked out our position so that no country can doubt where we stand.

Shame on Obama for refusing to support Israel. He is making the US powerless, but maybe that is his goal.

Tough On Crime, Good....Prison Farms Bad.

I agree with the Conservative position that we need to get tough on crime. We also need to totally revamp the juvenile system. What I do not agree with is the closure of prison farms. This is a really bad idea and whoever is now in charge of the prisons should rethink this position.

Inmates at Frontenac Institution don’t have to work on the farm, but the ones who choose to rise at 4:00 to 4:30 a.m. Inmates resent all the dead time in prison -- waiting for gates to open, for programs to commence, for the institution’s schedule to unfold. On “the farm camp,” as they call it, there is no dead time. As any farmer will tell you, the work is both endless and endlessly rewarding. Up to 75 inmate farmers at Frontenac learn about punctuality, self-reliance, safety around large animals, the operation of heavy machinery, work ethic, crop management, animal husbandry and a great deal else.

What is so bad about inmates learning to care for something other than themselves?  It doesn't even have to be animals, it could just be having a garden. Locking up people who deserve it is good for society, but giving them no skills while they are locked up does nothing to allow them to succeed when they are released back into society.

Conservatives should be the first ones to embrace a program that actually teaches real life skills. I fail to see what is good about canceling programs that help inmates get back to a quiet and simple way of life.  How can the cancellation of these programs be justified? I want more prison farms not fewer. I want the inmates to have a sense of purpose. As a gardener, nothing is more soothing to the spirit than working the earth, planting some seeds and harvesting the results.

The Conservative government should rethink the closing of prison farms. I can see no downside to prisons with inmate tended vegetable gardens that help feed the inmates. It goes so against the Conservative grain I can't believe MP's aren't pushing for these programs to be expanded not abolished. It might be time to e-mail your MP's.

How to Tell the Sex of a Fly

A woman walked into the kitchen to find her husband stalking around with a fly swatter.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Hunting Flies" he responded.

"Oh!  Killing any?" she asked.

"Yep, 3 males, 2 Females," he replied.

Intrigued, she asked "How can you tell them apart?"

He responded, "3 were on a beer can, 2 were on the phone. "

Nothing Of Interest To Report.

Now that the election is over, I am finding it harder to find anything of interest to report. A majority is boring, but I am happy with boring as opposed to a coalition of lefties.

The media party is going to have to start digging into the NDP MP's backgrounds to make interesting reading for political junkies. Will they? Not so far. Maybe they will put their brains in gear when Parliament resumes, but I'm not counting on it. I would like a pictorial review of the election winners and losers. I think Mark Hollands mug against the winner Chris Alexander would let everyone have a clearer picture of who really is left for the Liberals to choose as leader, both short and long term.

So far the best I can find is by (Yikes) Wiki!
They give the results by riding, stating the incumbent and the number of votes for each candidate. Boy do the green votes suck.

I can't wait for the new session to start, it should be a lot of fun watching Layton turn into a control freak like Harper is always accused of being. At least PM Harper has shown leadership, I wonder what we will be thinking about Layton and his kids. The fact that the NDP now has no power to enact any policies promised to Quebec because there will be no coalition is going to be interesting. Look up way up at Jack on the tightrope, will he fall into the training nets, or will he pull his team together? We will find out soon.  Maybe Hedi Fry should be the new leader of the Liberals, that would really be fun combined with the NDP rookies.  It would also be very gender friendly, you know, that we need more women in Parliament cry. What it all boils down to, is that there is nothing really interesting to report in politics, yet!

The Media Party, Never Happy About Harper... Who Would Have Guessed?

PM Harper brings forth the new cabinet, with one more Minister than last time, and the media party just isn't happy about what PM Harper has done. They whine, they cry, and they let us all know that they, the wise ones, are not happy.

You poor babies, get over it. The Liberals and Bloc are dead, the NDP is full of itself, and the Conservatives have a majority. Majority, for you slow learners, means control of Parliament and it's agenda.  With the 3 new Senators the media is crying about, it also means a majority in the Senate, sort of like what Obama had in the States and no lefty media thought that was a bad thing.

The media can comment all they want, but they need to remember that we were disgusted with their coverage of the election, and we have other sources to get our news from, like blogs, facebook and twitter.

The media party is kind of depressed these days because no one is listening to them anymore, they have made themselves irrelevant by their biased coverage, kind of like the Liberals and Bloc.

Were all MP's happy with the choice of Ministers? Of course not! I had hoped that James Rajotte would finally get to be a Minister, but I do not expect him to mope around and whine because he didn't. I expect him to continue representing me and his other constituents in the excellent fashion he has always done before. A majority means that he will be able to get way more done in committee than before. Now we will see Conservative MP's shine.

The media party is not running for election. They will never be positive about any Conservative government, they are still vilifying Mulroney for heavens sake, while Chretien and Trudeau are never criticized.  I wonder if they can afford for 40% of Canadians to stop watching their news or reading their papers? We should try it, stop going to anti-Conservative sites like CTV and CBC, stop reading the Toronto Star and Globe and Mail. You aren't missing anything anyways, except their highly biased opinions. Like mine on this blog! HA!

Boycott Green Money Suckers.

Are you as sick and tired as I am of all the bogus "green" companies? TD offers a "green" mortgage. Everywhere you go, it's all about "green". These corporations are sucking extra cash out of you with every "green" initiative they expound.

One of my readers hits the mark:

Blogger Eskimo said...
We are witnessing the final death throes of the enviro-weenie movement. Expect green subsidies to go the way of the dodo bird. In tough economic times politicians keen on remaining employed will have to heed the electorates' desire to cut all the fluff policies which only exist because of optics. This includes hidden environmental taxes by corporations who have jumped on the bandwagon of the feel good platitudes of having an "environmental stewardship" policy in their mission statements, passing along these extra costs onto their customers. As more reports come out showing the futility of the green movement and as more countries teeter on insolvency, Al Gore and David Suzuki are about to become footnotes in history. Eventually the public wises up and the snake oil purveyors are quickly run out of town. I sense that the good people of Ontario are sharpening their pitch forks right now! (And hopefully Alberta with all this carbon capture and windmill claptrap).

I couldn't agree more Eskimo! Too bad politicians are always years behind the voters. GE is promoting light bulbs with mercury that cost 10 times what conventional light bulbs do, and the politicians are supporting them. This shows you how powerful lobby groups can be. The NDP is full of union supporters, which is fine, as long as those unions are not allowed to use union fees to promote a political party. Unions fees are mandatory, they are not a choice. Funny how lefties want choice in abortion, but refuse to allow that same choice in paying union fees.  Hypocrites in the extreme.

I want REAL pollution of our air, lakes and land to be addressed by our politicians. I do not ever want to send REAL dollars to FAKE environmental causes. Mo Strong started this mess, and made millions, so did Suzuki and Gore. Evil lurks in power hunger people. They do not care about us, they care about their causes only as long as those causes are making them money.

What has really upset the elites is that PM Harper owes none of them any favours. He is his own man and the Conservative party was build by the little people, us voters, NOT the elites. I hope he remembers that now that he has a majority.

Corporations are using being "green" as a marketing ploy to increase their profits by charging us more. It's time for us to show them we will not be hoodwinked by their slick ads. It's time to boycott the phony "green" agenda of corporations. They suck money out of us every time we buy their products, just because they are supposedly "green".  Don't buy it, and tell them why you will not buy their products anymore.

Coal Bad, Wind Good....Or Not!

An excellent article about Ontario's Green plan. Or the failure of the juvenile green strategy to put us all back into caves. Why do politicians listen to green activists who have never actually held a job? In this case we can hope that it is the death of the McGuinty government. How can a have province become a have not province in one easy step....embrace a job killing green plan that will cost billions and will do nothing about real pollution.

An industry that depends on subsidies for its survival is not a net source of jobs. The funds for the subsidies have to be raised through taxation, and the burden of taxes kills more jobs than the subsidies create. This is as true for wind power as it is for greenhouse cucumbers, and it doesn’t matter if the taxes are visible or are hidden in the form of feed-in tariffs and artificially inflated electricity bills.
In countries like Spain and the U.K., which launched their own versions of the GEA a decade ago, the job losses are now being confirmed by independent analyses. In the U.K., a report by Verso Economics used the Scottish government’s own macroeconomic model to show that, despite receiving net transfers of about £330-million ($521-million) from the rest of the U.K. for its renewables sector, Scotland still experienced a net job loss from wind power, and for the U.K. as a whole, 3.7 jobs were lost for every job created in renewable energy.
In Spain, researchers at King Carlos University found that, on average, each job in the wind sector cost the country more than £1-million, implying a loss of 2.2 private sector jobs for every new job created in the renewables sector.
There is no magic Ontario fairy dust that will spare Ontarians from the same fate. The Green Energy Act will raise electricity costs and decrease employment. If the goal was to promote industry and create jobs, it is guaranteed to fail.

Guaranteed to fail.  There is more, read it all and wake up Ontario. You are being taken for suckers by green behind the ears eco-nuts. Name me one green initiative that does not require huge subsidies and actually reduces pollution. Real pollution, not this pie in the sky C02 is pollution junk.

The Ontario Clean Air Alliance has published claims that Ontario’s coal-fired power plants cause 316 deaths, 440 hospital admissions, 522 emergency room visits and 158,000 minor illnesses each year. Its numbers are based on a 2005 simulation study for the provincial government that focused almost entirely on the effects of PM2.5. (It also considered ground-level ozone, but emphasized that most of the ozone precursors originated in the United States).
How plausible are these claims? If correct, they imply that wood-burning fireplaces cause 520 deaths per year, etc. But that is nothing compared with the implied effects from people driving on unpaved roads. According to Environment Canada, dust from unpaved roads in Ontario puts a whopping 90,116 tonnes of PM2.5 into our air each year, nearly 130 times the amount from coal-fired power generation. Using the Clean Air Alliance method for computing deaths, particulates from country-road usage kills 40,739 people per year, quite the massacre considering there are only about 90,000 deaths from all causes in Ontario each year. Who knew? That quiet drive up back country roads to the cottage for a weekend of barbecues, cozy fires and marshmallow roasts is a form of genocide.

If you believe that billions of taxpayers dollars should be used to shut down cheap and reliable power, I have some ocean front property in Alberta to sell you!

Pray For Slave Lake Residents

Manitoba has been in the news because of flooding. Now Alberta is being hit with fires that are spreading because of high winds. It sounds like much of Slave Lake is gone. So far no people have been injured.

The town is being evacuated. Many people are leaving with only the clothes on their backs. Pray that all get out without injury. "Things" can be replaced, lives can not.

We have had unusual winds all week, very strong gusts of up to 80 MPH have been recorded. My husband started a fire to burn some old wood today, and I stopped him because it would only take one spark to take out the whole neighbourhood.

The networks are starting to pick up on this disaster. If these winds keep up, no community is safe. Water bombers can't even fly in these high wind conditions. This reminds me of the Kelowna fires that just about took my sisters home. Driving through the areas where the fire hit the hardest was eye opening. Funny how everything would be burnt, and then one home would be totally untouched.

My prayers go out to the people of Slave Lake. Get out and stay safe. SDA has more.

Quebec, Waking Up With A Hangover!

Sure, they got rid of the Bloc, which is excellent, but they now have to put up with opposition NDP MP's for the next 4 years. Basically, Quebec is now powerless, and they have only themselves to blame. They can join PEI and Newfoundland in the land of those the Conservatives forgot.

Quebec's worst nightmare is now a reality, a Conservative majority, without Quebec's support. They have even less representation in Parliament than they had last election with a minority Conservative government. The west is in, and Quebec is out. The west asked them to the prom, but they said no, we want a socialist government to feed our unending appetite for "goodies" at the taxpayers expense. Quebec should have woke up after election night with a huge hangover and a stranger in their bed.

How disrespectful of our democracy can you get when you elect representatives who never even set foot in their ridings. It's not only Vegas girl, there are others as well. Quebec obviously wanted to send a message to the rest of Canada. My take on their message is that they wanted nothing more to do with propping up the Bloc, but they also didn't want to join the rest of us. They wanted to remain unique.

Unique they are, they now have to go to their NDP MP's, if they can find them and understand them, for representation in our country. It is one thing to protest with your vote, it is a whole other thing to protest smartly. Quebec voted without actually thinking about the consequences, and now they have to live with what they voted for. Good luck Quebec, we will see you in 4 years.

Quebec voted for the NDP because they thought the Conservatives would only get a minority, and they didn't want the Liberals to take power in a coalition. Who would have thought a majority was possible without Quebec? HA! Now Quebec is stuck with no real representation in government. The Conservatives will make sure that Quebec is served, but what can they do with only 6 MP's from Quebec? Quebec has so screwed themselves. It looks good on them.

Meanwhile back in Alberta, the "for hire" signs are popping up all over the place. We need workers and if those lefties from Quebec and PEI refuse to come here to work, they should be made to pay for the foreign workers we will need to bring in, while they sit on their duffs and pull in EI bucks. I see lots of BC, Sask, Man and Ont license plates here, but can't remember the last time I have actually seen a Quebec or PEI plate. My husband was smart enough to leave PEI to come to Alberta because there were no opportunities in PEI. He is still here and doing better than any of his 6 siblings back in PEI.

Quebec went out on a binge on election night, and is now waking up with a hangover!

Friday Night Funnies: And Then The Fight Started 2

One of my most viewed Friday night funnies is the "And Then The Fight Started" post, so I thought we should have more of them:

My wife sat down on the couch next to me as I was flipping channels.
She asked, 'What's on TV?'
I said, 'Dust.'
And then the fight started...
----------
A woman is standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror.
She is not happy with what she sees and says to her husband, "I feel Horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a
Compliment."
The husband replies, 'Your eyesight's damn near perfect.'
And then the fight started.....
----------
I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller Light for $14.95.

Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95.
I told her the beer would make her look better at night than the cold
cream.

And then the fight started....
----------
My wife asked me if a certain dress made her butt look big. I told her Not as much as the dress that she had worn yesterday.
And then the fight started.....
----------
A man and a woman were asleep like two innocent babies.
Suddenly, at 3 o'clock in the morning, a loud noise came from outside.

The woman, bewildered, jumped up from the bed and yelled at the man 'Holy crap. That must be my husband!'
So the man jumped out of the bed; scared and naked jumped out the window. He smashed himself on the ground, ran through a thorn bush and to his car as fast as he could go.
A few minutes later he returned and went up to the bedroom and
screamed at the woman, 'I AM your husband!'
The woman yelled back, 'Yeah, then why were you running?'
And then the fight started.....
----------
I asked my wife, "Where do you want to go for our anniversary?"
It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation.
"Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said.
So I suggested, "How about the kitchen?"
And that's when the fight started....

One year, a son-in-law decided to buy his mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift...
The next year, he didn't buy her a gift.
When she asked him why, he replied,
"Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!"
And that's when the fight started...

(The best one of all, and so applicable right now.....)

When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace expensive… so, I took her to a gas station…
And then the fight started….

IMPORTANT MESSAGE !!!

You've no doubt heard about people who have been abducted and had
their kidneys removed by black-market organ thieves.

My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years
ago. I went to sleep and woke up with someone else's thighs.
It was just that quick. The replacements had the texture of
cooked oatmeal. Whose thighs were these and what happened to
Mine? I spent the entire summer looking for my thighs.
Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my
life in jeans. And then the thieves struck again.

My arse was next. I knew it was the same gang, because they
took pains to match my new rear-end to the thighs they had
stuck me with earlier. But my new arse was attached at least
three inches lower than my original! I realized I'd have to
give up my jeans in favor of long skirts.

Two years ago I realized my arms had been switched. One
morning I was fixing my hair and was horrified to see the
flesh of my upper arm swing to and fro with the motion of
the hairbrush. This was really getting scary - my body was
being replaced one section at a time. What could they do to
Me next?

When my poor neck suddenly disappeared and was replaced with
a turkey neck, I decided to tell my story. Women of the
world wake up and smell the coffee! Those 'plastic' surgeons
are using REAL replacement body parts - stolen from you and
Me! The next time someone you know has something 'lifted',
Look again - was it lifted from you?

THIS IS NOT A HOAX. This is happening to women everywhere
Every night.

WARN YOUR FRIENDS!

P. S. Last year I thought someone had stolen my Boobs. I was
lying in bed and they were gone! But when I jumped out of
bed, I was relieved to see that they had just been hiding in
my armpits as I slept. Now I keep them hidden in my
waistband.

I thought this was too 'important' not to pass on. Have a
wonderful day - with a joy filled heart. Always remember to
Laugh!! Helps the heart AND the wrinkles!!

P.P.S. Those same thieves just came into my closet and shrank my clothes!
How do they do that????

TO THE GREENIES:    How true!

In the line at the store, the cashier told the older woman that she should bring her own grocery bag because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.

The woman apologized to him and explained, "We didn't have the green thing back in my day."

The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. The former generation did not care enough to save our environment."

He was right, that generation didn't have the green thing in its day.

Back then, they returned their milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.

But they didn't have the green thing back in that customer's day.

In her day, they walked up stairs, because they didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. They walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time they had to go two
blocks.

But she was right. They didn't have the green thing in her day.

Back then, they washed the baby's diapers because they didn't have the throw-away kind. They dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts - wind and solar power really did dry the clothes.
Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.

But that old lady is right; they didn't have the green thing back in her day.

Back then, they had one TV, or radio, in the house - not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief, not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, they blended and stirred
by hand because they didn't have electric machines to do everything for you. When they packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, they used a wadded up old newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, they didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. They used a push mower that ran on human power. They exercised by working so they didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that
operate on electricity.

But she's right; they didn't have the green thing back then.

They drank from a fountain when they were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time they had a drink of water. They refilled their writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and they replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just
because the blade got dull.

But they didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or rode the school bus instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. They had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank
of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And they didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful the old folks were just because they didn't have the green thing back then?

The Opposition Mess!

Thanks to Ontario joining the western movement, we have a majority Conservative government. This has put paid to any talks of a coalition, for now. It has also messed up the opposition badly, and it looks good on them. What do we have for opposition now?

Biggest losers, the Bloc. The Bloc is destroyed. Thank you Quebec for getting rid of those leeches on our country, but your support of the NDP instead of the Conservatives is going to bite you, hard! It already has, with 19 year old MP's, ex-communists, Vegas babes, and who knows what else will surface.

Second biggest losers, the Liberals. Worse performance EVER for the Liberals, even though the Media Party was rooting for them so hard that they exposed their left flank and now everyone knows how biased the media really is towards the Conservatives.

NDP, won the most seats ever but now have to contend with newbie MP's who will make mistakes. Canadians are now actually taking a look at the NDP platform, if they can find it, and starting to understand that socialists are not much better than separatists. It should make question period a hoot to watch.

The Conservatives are by far the big winners, but don't expect the lefty media to tell you that, they are too intent on demonizing with the old "hidden agenda" to actually report facts. I am thrilled that PM Harper achieved his majority, he deserved it. Goodbye gun registry, Canadian Wheat Board monopoly, special interest group funds, and hello to no tax hikes, no carbon taxes. I will wait patiently for family income splitting.

I am excited about what can be achieved in the next 4 to 5 years. Canada is ready to lead the world, and we have the best chance of doing that with PM Harper. If I was on a ship that was in trouble, I would instinctively follow our PM because I know that he will keep his head about him and steer that ship into calm waters.  Don't disappoint Canadians, you now have the opportunity to get things done without the opposition hampering you every step of the way. The opposition is a mess but they will never admit it is their fault. Let's also let the Media Party know that we don't care what they think anymore. Sun TV News is live on the Internet, so Bell can go stuff themselves.

They Flock To Our Shores But....

We need to take control of our own immigration policies. I get sick of how the lawyers are making money off of the desperate people who come here illegally. They drag the process into years, sometimes an illegal immigrant can stay here for over 10 years. This is totally unacceptable. We need to get the lawyers and judges out of the process and appoint a board of legal immigrants and Canadian born citizens who can judge the cases. It should take months, not years and the boards ruling should be final, no appeals to our courts allowed.

Remember the first boat of 76 illegal Tamils that reached our shores? They are all still here, and the prosecutors are blaming the RCMP. The RCMP should have been able to put those 76 ILLEGAL refugees on the next flight out of Canada without any investigation at all. Send them back. We have a huge waiting list of immigrants who want to enter Canada legally, they should get priority.

The memo explains why, more than a year-and-a-half after the Ocean Lady was seized off Vancouver Island, no criminal charges have yet been laid in connection with the human smuggling operation, which began in Indonesia and Thailand. Although it stands to reason that at least some of those on board would have been involved, all are living freely around Toronto.
It's been a year and a half, no one has been sent back, and we also have another 492 Tamil refugees that arrived on another boat, and they are all in Toronto now too, none of them have been sent back either. The bleeding heart lefties think this is okay, and even more refugees should be allowed into our country.

Here is a solution. While the illegal refugees are waiting up to ten years for our court system to come to a decision, they are restricted to living in our far northern regions. No going to Toronto, Vancouver, or Edmonton. You get off the boat, you go to Nunavut or the Yukon to await the decision of the courts. If you can enjoy the north in winter, you are probably a perfect candidate for Canadian citizenship.

For those lefties who think that family reunification is the most important immigration strategy, I agree as long as the sponsoring family takes on all the medical bills and does not rely on our "free" health care and the elders get no government cheques. If the family wants to pay, no problem. If the family wants Canadian taxpayers to pay, nope not happening.

Canada needs immigrants, what we don't need are ambulance chasing lawyers holding up the process for real candidates to suck more money out of them. Illegal immigrants should not be allowed on our shores, they take spots away from immigrants who are law abiding and wait for years to get their applications accepted. Legal immigrants don't need the services of lawyers. Illegal refugees are a big money making machine for lawyers, just like all the poverty "non-profit" organizations who feed off of the poor while making rich salaries (think Red Cross CEO's). Layton likes to appear to be for the weakest in our society, yet his party gets the support from unions who make very rich salaries and cripple industry with their unrealistic demands. Layton and Olivia even out spent our PM last year!

Immigration is great, but let's be careful about who we let in and how they get here.

The Joy Of Motherhood.

Now that my boys are older, they bought me gifts that they picked out, instead of their Dad helping them. What was special, was not the gifts, which I loved, it was the thought that went into them. My boys make me so proud. They are growing into strong independent individuals. I never thought that I would be a mother, let alone enjoy watching every step my sons have taken in life.

I had problems getting pregnant. I finally went to a specialist, a few months later I was pregnant. We were one of the lucky ones, many couples never experience the joy of being parents. My husband stood by me, letting me "choose" how many procedures I was willing to go through to get pregnant.

The joy of motherhood is something that can never be described adequately. It is a huge responsibility, but the rewards far outweigh the negatives. No one is ever actually ready for parenthood, but the best meet the challenge with love and excitement. Never take your children for granted. Hug them and love them, everyday.

Thank you boys! Your gifts were the best, but more importantly, you are the best. I love you. Mom.

From Alberta With Love!

I want to take this opportunity to thank Ontario. You could have gone the way of Quebec, and voted for the NDP. You could have continued to vote for the Liberal party, like PEI and Newfoundland, but you came out in record numbers to support Prime Minister Harper and the Conservatives. Thank you. You saved our country.

You have become a "have not" province under the rule of McGuinty, yet you refuse to give up. You could have taken the easy route and voted NDP for all the "goodies" they offered, you refused. You showed all of Canada that the pioneer spirit still beats strong in your hearts. You showed Canada that you might be a "have not" province right now, but you are not willing to continue down that path.

I want you to know that Alberta has your back. Finally, provinces are not being divided for political reasons. You have supported Canada for most of our existence with equalization payments, and now that you need them, look west, we are with you. Together the east and the west can make Canada spectacular! Our independent spirits are alive and we are now joined instead of alienated.

We are not different, like the politicians and media want us to believe. You saw through the hype and joined with us to go forward instead of back. Without you, we would have had PM Layton. Thank you Ontario. God has blessed Canada.

Royal Wedding Spoof:

------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
The Sierra Club and the U.S. Forest Service were presenting an alternative to the Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population. It seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and true method of shooting or trapping the predators, the Sierra Club had a "more humane" solution to this issue. What they were proposing was for the animals to be captured alive. The males would then be castrated and let loose again. This was ACTUALLY proposed by the Sierra Club and by the U.S. Forest Service. All of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of minutes. Finally an old fellow wearing a big cowboy hat in the back of the conference room stood up, tipped his hat back and said; "Son, I don't think you understand our problem here... these coyotes ain't screwin’ our sheep... they're eatin' 'em!" The meeting never really got back to order. . .

Around The Water Cooler Part II

Liberals are still in shock, they are talking about the "scary, hidden" agenda of the Conservatives. "Just watch", they say. PM Harper is going to unleash the "dark side" of the Conservatives, and we are all doomed. Seriously, these are educated people, some of them lawyers (not surprised there), and this is what I heard from them. Do they understand how desperate they sound?

I also heard, a swear word out here in Alberta....Trudeau! The Liberals are already talking about Trudeau as their saviour. Do they not get it? They refuse to blame their own party for their failure and they are still looking for that leader that will bring them back to glory, and the public trough. I tried to tell them that they needed to rebuild from the ground up, and they just looked at me with blank expressions. They only talk to themselves, that is why they lost this election. The media called PM Harper the one who was in a bubble, but the truth is that the media and Liberals are the ones who do not understand what Canadians want. Their bubble burst, and we can see pieces trying to crawl back together, but no magic ward/leader is going to put humpy lumpy Liberals back again.

The NDP supporters are talking about being the "government in waiting". No mention of the kindergarten squad that is causing them problems already. They have no problem with Layton hiding his newly elected MP's in some bunker for the next four years, but Harper is too bossy and won't talk to the media? HA!

The Conservatives are talking about lower taxes, smaller government and what PM Harper can accomplish now that he has a majority.  They are positive, happy with the election results and wanting Parliament back as soon as possible. The NDP do not want Parliament to reconvene until 4 years from now.

Congratulations to the Conservative party, and especially PM Harper for a well run election campaign. Congrats to my MP, James Rajotte, I am hoping that he will be appointed as a Minister, he deserves it. He gets votes from all parties, and won his riding with over 60% support. Please get back to work and get rid of the long gun registry and make the CWB voluntary.

An Inconvenient Truth...Not Dead Enough!

Believe it or not, schools are still showing this piece of discredited garbage to kids. My son watched it in religion class today. Why religion and not science class? Interesting that it is part of a religion class, could it be that worshiping "global warming" has morphed into a religion? Seems so.

My son was amazed that the kids in his class clapped when the show was over, as if they were in a movie theater. He has also confronted his teacher about why only one side of the issue is being presented. She was stunned that anyone would challenge her views. He is having fun being a "global warming" rebel. He comes home and asks me why the movie is wrong, I supply him with questions for his teacher, and he gets presented with both sides, not just one. Maybe his teacher should read this posting:

In order for the film to be shown, the Government must first amend their Guidance Notes to Teachers to make clear that 1.) The Film is a political work and promotes only one side of the argument. 2.) If teachers present the Film without making this plain they may be in breach of section 406 of the Education Act 1996 and guilty of political indoctrination. 3.) Eleven inaccuracies have to be specifically drawn to the attention of school children.
Too bad that is in the UK, still he is going to school tomorrow with a printout of the 11 inaccuracies in hand. It would be funny, except they are still indoctrinating our kids.

Okay, now that I have that out of my system, I have one more burr in my bonnet. Bell Canada. I wish that I had ever had any business with them, but they are not real big out here in the west. If I had any of their services, I would love to call 1-888-sky-dish to cancel those services and switch to Shaw Direct satellite. I still have Sun News, and I watch it every night. Obviously, Bell is scared because Sun News is already more popular than CTV News.

The fledgling Sun News Network has been keeping up with - and in some cases beating - its competition during its first eight days on the air, contrary to what some of the news channel's critics have reported.
Around 37,000 viewers across Canada tuned in to watch the fledgling news channel when it launched on April 18, beating the 24-hour CTV News Channel by around 20,000 viewers and the Business News Network by about 10,000, according to rough numbers from BBM Canada, a not-for-profit consumer-behaviour analyst.
Bell is losing viewers of their CTV News network so they don't want to carry Sun News? This should go to the CRTC, but who has faith in them anymore. The best way to get Sun News is to call them and tell them you want Sun News! What shocks me is that only 17,000 people are watching CTV News! Think about the costs of all the production managers, camera people, news anchors, etc, all that for less than 20,000 viewers? It has to be losing money. Maybe that's why they don't want to carry Sun News.  Competition is a good thing, that's why we have a competition act in Canada, maybe they can look into this, or are they too busy checking into the latest collusion of oil prices by energy companies.

If you want Sun News, either contact your company to get it, or switch to Shaw Direct. We are really happy with the service we get from them, my husband especially loves the football package that gives him every game being played in the NFL!

Around The Water Cooler Today!

Total disbelief by people of all parties! The Liberal voters were red eyed and silent. The Conservative voters were elated and the NDP voters were walking around shaking their heads.

Conservatives were joking with the NDP about all the rookies they are going to have to deal with, it could make question period very entertaining.

What I want to see happen as soon as possible?

1. Canadian Wheat Board made voluntary, no more putting are farmers behind bars.
2. HRC's power cut by removing "hate crimes" from their mandate.
3. Long Gun Registry gone.
4. Crime bills passed.
5. Deficit cut by better management of our tax dollars.

Those would be my top five. Number 1 to 4 is easy stuff, and should be done quickly. Number 5 is much harder, but can be done without cutting jobs. The best thing was seeing PM Harper looking so relaxed today. He deserves a rest, and quiet time with his family.

The Opposition Screwed Themselves!

At a time when all other economies are failing, Canadians understood the risk to Canada and elected a strong stable Conservative majority. Thank You Canadians!

I was blasted by my NDP office mate the other day about immigration and how reuniting families should be the priority. Today I was the only one predicting a Conservative majority. I should have laid down some bets with real money involved. Now, I can walk into work with head held high and thumb my nose at the "scared" voters. My office mate even brought up the old "abortion and gay marriage" scare tactic today. I am sure that works well with his NDP buddies, but it didn't sit well with me and obviously it didn't "scare" other Canadians.

God blessed Canada today with 4 years of stable government. PEI and Newfoundland should stop sending their kids here, they should send them to Liberal/NDP strongholds instead. Maybe they can go to Quebec to get their jobs! Oops, not many Atlantic voters speak French, so scratch that idea.

What makes me most thankful is that now, with a majority we will not see a carbon market anytime soon. With a majority, we can finally work together for Canada and Canadians in every province.

Let the "hidden agenda" out.... lowering taxes, less government, and provincial responsibilities respected. YIKES! I'm "scared"! NOT

The opposition called an election based on fake "contempt" charges, and they screwed themselves by electing a Conservative majority. Suck it up princesses. When Duceppe and Ignatieff both lose their seats, you have to think Canadians have made their choice, and their choice is PM Harper!

Jack Flash In The Pan.

Finally a few media outlets are looking more closely at the NDP. They have "ghost" candidates, candidates on vacation, and a leader who misplaced his clothes. Jack is a flash in the pan, his numbers are not going to hold come election day.

Jack Layton has always been given a free ride to spout his message because no one takes him seriously. It's time to look at him and his party more closely. Who are his candidates and why are some of them taking vacations during an election? Take a closer look and see for yourself.

Meanwhile what this means is anyone's guess. I much prefer a stable Conservative government that wants to lower our taxes. I just did my taxes yesterday, and I wonder where the extra family of 4 that my taxes are supporting are and could they stop whining about not getting enough to live on. My 17 year old is finishing grade 12 and he has a part time job. He is saving his money so he can go to NAIT this fall, why can't other kids to that as well, then they wouldn't need any student loans. We of course have put money into a RESP for him, we started when he was born. It doesn't take much from the budget every month, one fewer trip to the hairdresser.

Jack appeals to those voters who believe in Robin Hood. Rob from the rich and give to the poor. It only works for as long as there is someones pocket to pick. The truly rich will just leave Canada, leaving the middle class to hold the burden of taxes. Jack would be a disaster for our economy and our standard of living.

I leave you with the Sun News interview of PM Harper. He has brought Canada through the worse economic downturn since the 30's and has us on track to slay the deficit dragon while not raising taxes. He is the only logical choice for those taxpaying Canadians who want to see their own families get some benefits from the taxes they pay, not special interest groups who suck our money up and spit out garbage against the Conservative government and taxpayers. Vote Conservative. Vote for a better future for your children.
