A Cry In The Dark Has Been Answered!

I talked recently to a person who left Afghanistan with her family when she was 6, this summer she hopes to go back to visit her Grandmother. She is very excited about going to see what changes have occurred, but is worried about the Taliban. I asked her if she had ever considered being a translator for our troops, she said no way, it was too dangerous. Her family moved to Canada to live a peaceful life, and have become Canadian citizens.

We need to help other Afghan families who just want a good life for their children. It appears we are about to get some TRUE refugees.

Canada to welcome hundreds of Afghan employees

OTTAWA -- Canada is set to open its doors to hundreds of Afghans who face life-threatening risks after having worked with our military and diplomats, The Canadian Press has learned.

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney says he's putting the final touches on a policy to provide safe haven to Afghans endangered by their association with Canada.

Unlike other NATO countries, Canada has no policy on humanitarian immigration for local staff -- but that's about to change.

Afghans who have been severely injured working with the Canadian military, or who can prove they face threats, will be eligible for fast-track entry.

The first of those ex-employees and their immediate relatives could arrive within months.

The policy goes much further than the one initially considered by the Harper government, which last year said it would examine possible ways to bring over severely injured interpreters only.

The new program will be open to anyone with 12 months' service to the Canadian mission, medical and security checks, and a recommendation letter from a senior soldier or diplomat.

I wholeheartedly agree with this initiative! The Afghans that have been working with our troops deserve a better life, and if Canadian citizenship is what they want and need, let's give it to them. They have been risking their lives to help our soldiers, and if we can save one or two of them and make their family lives better, let's do it.

They denied the Afghans would strain federal resources, saying they represent a tiny fraction of the tens of thousands of refugee claimants Canada receives annually. And unlike many others who come here, they noted, the Afghan workers are all fluent in at least one of Canada's official languages.

They denied??? Who accused them of straining federal resources? If you read the article, it wasn't the NDP, so who does that leave? Funny how that little fact isn't stated in this article. How about the thousands of Tamil Tiger supporters the Liberals let into our country? No one questioned that at the time, as a matter of fact, ex-PM Martin and other Liberal MP's were seen at various Tamil functions and they refused to declare the Tamil Tigers as terrorists. These Afghans are actually real refugees, not the bogus, get a visa, and overstay your welcome cue jumpers, like the Lebanese pretend citizens.

Kenney is a real breath of fresh air. Common sense is back in politics and I like it. Go Kenney Go!

And Many Many MORE!!!

Happy Birthday Prime Minister Harper, 50 is a wonderful age, mature enough to handle anything, but still young enough to enjoy life and everything it has to offer!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the Prime Minister.

This one was taken by Dr. Roy:

Remember back when the kids were still tiny and the media was ragging on about how Ben didn't hug his Dad in this one? It's still one of my favorites.

Then we have one that shows the laughter in PM Harper's eyes, so much for the petty media and their "cold blue eyes" garbage.

And finally my personal favorite, Rigger and PM Harper, who knew he loves dogs too!

I have thought about my meeting with PM Harper, and I am even more impressed with him now then I was before. He was very easy to talk to, I expected to be nervous but he put me as ease immediately. He looks directly at you and listens, then he asks pertinent questions. There is nothing elitist or arrogant about him. I actually felt a real connection to him, I can picture him happily sitting at home watching a hockey game or playing with his kids.

After I showed some people at work the picture of Rigger with the PM, one lady piped up and said she really liked him because he is a great father. That is what appeals to us ladies, a real down to earth family man who cares deeply about his family and his country.

So, Mr. Prime Minister, enjoy this special day with family and friends. The media is trying to make it political, but it's not. The leader of our great country deserves to celebrate his birthday however he wants to, and if the media is in a snit (again) because it doesn't include them, TOO BAD!

In 10 years, I want to see 60 pink flamingos on the lawn of 24 Sussex celebrating PM Harper's 60th birthday!

100 Days, 236 Scandals!

While lefties praise Obama after 100 days, some people have been keeping tabs of what Obama has really been up to... 236 scandals and counting!

This is an excellent site that has documented all the Obama scandals with video and links. Start at scandal #1 and work your way to scandal #236.

#222 Napolitano - Canadian Terrorist Entry Lie - 4/24/9 Second, KOA Radio’s Gunny Bob reports Team Obama’s Janet “Napolitano claimed that some of the 9-11 terrorists entered the US via Canada. This is an outright lie. As the 9-11 Commission reported, all of the 9-11 terrorists entered the US from abroad. She then stated that no terrorists have entered the US via Mexico, which is patently false according to the Director of the FBI in testimony before the Congress.” UPDATE 4/24/9 “I knew the minute it came out of my mouth it was wrong,” she said. Republicans now are calling for her resignation.

#200 Fascist Obama Tells Local Cops to Watch out for Right Wing Extremists! - 4/13/9 Homeland Security says cops should watch for right wing extremism which the Washington Post says “may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.” Obama’s Homeland Security Chieftess Janet Napolitano sent a 9-page report to cops around the nation to warn them about conservative Americans! If you are a pro-lifer, cops are supposed to watch out for YOU! Michelle Malkin has the document for you, just click here. This report is off the freaking deep end! UPDATE 4/16/9 ABCDEmocrat News says the report was issued “despite civil liberties concerns…n the report, right-wing extremism was defined as hate-motivated groups and movements, such as hatred of certain religions, racial or ethnic groups. “It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,” the report said. “If there’s one part of that report I would rewrite, in the word-smithing, Washington-ese that goes on after the fact, it would be that footnote,” Napolitano said Thursday on Fox News.”

#234 Obama Official Causes Evacuations in New York!- 4/27/9 The Politco: “Moving to fend off outrage from New York officials, the White House military director apologized for flying Air Force One and an accompanying fighter jet low near Ground Zero as part of a photo shoot Monday. President Barack Obama was not aboard when the huge 747 Air Force jet buzzed across Lower Manhattan, prompting evacuations, 911 calls and frightful memories of the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he had not been informed of the flight and was “furious” over the incident.” UPDATE 4/29/9 Fox reports the “Stupid New York Flyover” cost $328,835! Team Obama blowing money during a recession so it has cool pictures to share. Obscene. That doesn’t even count the cost of the evacuations and panic the blunder caused. UPDATE 4/29/9 In a memo obtained by wcbstv.com-CBS 2 HD, the Federal Aviation Administration’s James Johnston said the agency was aware of “the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes” in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor’s office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.

Go to the site and read more about Obama and the Democrat scandals.

Be aware that we can not ignore what Obama is doing, it will have severe impacts on our own economy. Obama and Iggy are two peas in a pod when it comes to the economy, they both have no clue!

John Ivison: Canada starts to feel the bite of new U.S. protectionism

When Barack Obama came to Ottawa in February, Canadians lowered their defences and surrendered, seduced by the new President’s promises that the United States would stand by its international trade obligations and resist protectionism.

It was an object lesson in why politicians should be judged on results, not their intentions. The reality is that Canada and the United States are engaging in skirmishes that threaten to erupt into an all-out trade war.

Canada better brace itself, because Democrats are protectionists and Canada is in their scopes. All you lefties who support Obama better take another look at the policies coming down the pipeline because Obama is no more your friend than radical Islam supports gay people. The Democrats will do what they did when the Liberals were in power, slap tariffs on our products like lumber, and then take us to court because we are somehow the bad guys. The Liberals couldn't fight it because their supporters at the time were big business. Our only hope is the fact that the Conservatives are in power, and big business does not own them like they own the Liberals, case in point the MSM.

I want Albertans to remember that the oil sands are actually Alberta's sands, we can sell to who we want if the US imposes tariffs on our oil. Saskatchewan is at risk as well. Oil and fresh water, our big hammers against protectionism.

Wake up Canada, the Democrats are bad news for Canada. Don't take my word for it, read the 236 scandals, see what you think.

Turn Off The Taps!

Dirty oil from the Canadian Sands are under attack by the Obama administration. This will backfire badly on the Americans, who get 20% of their oil from us. This is not an Alberta problem, Canadians have been living the high life because Alberta, now Saskatchewan and Newfoundland are doing so good. Quebec gets 8 billion from the have provinces and that is about to stop because the have provinces like Ontario are now have nots. Didn't Quebec post a surplus? Then they do not need any equalization payments.

U.S. carbon bill could put squeeze on oil sands

The U.S. climate change bill, which is currently being debated in the House energy and commerce committee, includes a measure modelled on low carbon fuel rules just approved in California. It would set a baseline standard for the amount of carbon produced during production of transportation fuel throughout its life cycle.

Under the draft bill, refineries would be required to reduce annual life cycle emissions from their fuel to 2005 levels between 2014 and 2022, and then cut them by at least another five per cent between 2023 and 2030.

In effect, the rules would force U.S. refiners to measure carbon intensity of a fuel from ‘wells to wheels.' Because the life cycle emissions from oil sands crude is up to 30% higher than in conventional oil, Canadian officials are worried the country's energy industry would be devastated by a national low carbon fuel standard in the U.S.

Canada's concerns about the U.S. climate bill follows "the same logic" as objections Ottawa raised last week in a failed bid to derail the California measures, Mr. Prentice said following two days of meetings in Washington.

This could be bad for Alberta and all of Canada. Funny how the environmentalists fail to mention "blood" oil from the Mideast, and given that Obama bowed to the Saudi King, we know how he feels. What can Alberta do? Glad you asked!

CN idea a winner for oil sands

The energy and geopolitical ramifications of Canadian National Railway's "Pipeline on Rails" initiative is a game-changer for Canada. As I revealed in Thursday's Financial Post, the railway has developed a transformative strategy to move oil sands production more quickly and cheaply to markets in North America or Asia.

This project, in its early stages, will eliminate three barriers to the development of Canada's vast oil sands: the cost, delays and financial risks involved in building multi-billion-dollar pipelines; the politics of obstruction south of the border from environmentalists and the danger of selling oil to monopoly buyers in the United States which has, in the past, resulted in contracts being ripped up when times were tough.

It also allows Canada to decouple from the American economy when it comes to its most important commodity, which is oil products. This is because all the oil sands production can be routed to the west coast for shipment to Asia or anywhere, thus avoiding monopoly pricing and bullying by the Americans.

Now that's what I call a great idea! If the Americans put up trade barriers, we can stop the flow using their own policies against them, and if Obama doesn't think losing 20% of their energy supplies isn't going to hurt, the guy is dreaming.

Notice how Minister Day was in China lately, could oil be something the Chinese need? How about India? Both countries would love a secure supply of "dirty" oil and if the US doesn't want it, so be it. Enjoy your $10 a gallon gas. If the US breaks the terms of NAFTA, it frees Canada from supplying oil to the US.

The Democrats are dumb enough to think they can slap a tariff/carbon tax on our oil like they did with softwood lumber, in the guise of a cap and trade tax. It's time to turn off the tap for a few days, and see what happens. It's also time for Quebec to be forced to buy Canadian oil, no more "blood" oil for Quebec, not when they get $8 billion from Alberta a year.

Turn off the taps, just for a few days, see what happens!

Feeling Disconnected?

I know I am. I post daily, and visit the Blogging Tories daily, I enjoy all of the blogs, and feel like we are a community, where Conservatives can finally get our points across. I want to thank Stephen and Craig for keeping this community running. The Blogging Tories are not the problem, in fact, I think they are the solution for Conservatives who want a place to call home.

My problem is with the Conservative party, it needs a good spring cleaning. If we built up a party from the grassroots, the dandelions are now infesting the lawn. The party is pretty much useless from my point of view, and needs a swift kick in the butt.

As my profile states, I got off my duff and got involved with the party because I was so sick of the Liberals stealing from my family, and getting away with it. So, we won, a minority, but we won! We were now the government! Exciting stuff.

What I have noticed is that the CPC thinks it needs to tiptoe around and not offend anyone by showing their actual support of Conservative ideas. You are the Conservative Party of Canada, shout it out! I understand that with a minority government, some tiptoeing is needed, but can we have some backbone here? The Conservative party is now PM Harper, not because he wants that, but because he is getting no support from the party itself.

What is the party doing to advance Conservative issues? Heck, what is the party doing to highlight PM Harper and the Minister's? You decide....

I watch question period and other sources, if something interesting happens, I create a Youtube video and it is posted that night.

Visit the CPC site and this is what you get for video. The only video I could find was an announcement on arenas. Check out the Laureen Harper section. Lovely picture, and nice bio, but where's the information about what she is doing? I don't think that page has been updated since 2004!

If a lowly blogger can get more video posted in support of the Conservatives then the party itself can, a disconnect has occurred. Why can't the "war room" post some video? What the heck are they doing at headquarters? Check out the Minister's profiles, boring, boring, boring! No life, no personal touch, no comments from the Minister's, the whole site sucks.

WHERE ARE THE VIDEOS? If the media is so lefty, why isn't the Conservative party countering that with some videos of their own? All I hear from the party lately is requests for donations.

It's like the CPC is walking on egg shells afraid to offend anyone encase the voters realize that they actually elected the Conservatives. It's like just because the Conservatives are in power, the Conservative party can't broadcast any good things that are being done. Even Sandy from Crux-of-the-Matter has given up on the list of the Conservative parties achievements. Why isn't the CPC doing it? What are they doing?

Just because the Conservatives are "in" government doesn't mean that the CPC has to hide. Get some video up, update Laureen's page so we see what she is doing. Get moving, because just phoning me up and asking for more money is not cutting it anymore. This is from a staunch Conservative supporter, think about the sometimes voters, nothing at this site would make me want to vote Conservative!

Feeling disconnected? Me too!

Ever Heard Of Bear Flu?

Seal flu? Penguin flu? I haven't either, maybe it's because they are not in our main diet! Swine flu? Bird flu? Human flu? How about the bird/swine/human flu? Coming to your corner of the world, whether you want it or not. I hope it fades away as spring cleans out the cobwebs of winter.

Maybe a change of diet is required. Seal & Mushroom Pastries? Seal steaks and frogs legs served over a platter of seaweed and puffin eggs anyone? Remember mad cow, and how quickly the US slammed the border shut on Canadian beef? Might they have a little pork problem happening?

U.S. Pork Industry Assures Customers Product is Safe

BOSTON — U.S. pork producers, responding to a swine flu outbreak that has escalated into a public health emergency, said Sunday their product is safe and that consumers cannot catch the virus by eating properly cooked food.

I have the solution! If we are scared to eat pork, beef and chicken, maybe it's time for us to try eating seal! It seems to work for the Inuit, and we wouldn't have to put up with any more protests from greenpeace.

Anti-sealing case evidence being withheld, crusader says

The seizure of Mowat followed tense confrontations on the ice floes between its 17 crew members and the coast guard.

The coast guard said the icebreaker Des Groseilliers was "grazed" twice by the Farley Mowat about 60 kilometres north of Cape Breton as the protest ship closed in on some seal hunters.

But Watson dismissed the charge, saying its much smaller ship was struck twice by the 98-metre icebreaker.

Weeks later, black-clad Mounties brandishing submachine-guns boarded the Mowat and arrested all crew members, who said they were forced to lay down on the deck of the ship while some were handcuffed.

OH. MY. GOD.

Black clad Mounties banishing submachine guns? Crew members were FORCED TO LAY DOWN on the deck, while some were HANDCUFFED? Can CTV get anymore dramatic? They make the RCMP into the bad guys while the poor ecoterrorists are the innocent victims.

The nutritional value of seal meat make it an ideal meal for today’s health conscious consumer, a fact not lost with those who have traditionally consumed seal meat as a regular dietary item. Seal meat is very low in fat and a very good source of many essential dietary nutrients including; protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, and vitamin B12. It is a very healthy choice of red meat, given the fact that it is raised in the wild and not artificially enhanced and force-grown as with many of our beef, pork and poultry products currently available.

Artificially enhanced beef, pork and poultry? The very meats that cause the flu? Any correlation here? Okay, where's my boat....oh right, Alberta is landlocked! Would seals survive in a salt free Alberta lake? Just asking. Maybe Newfoundland will send us some seal meat if we send them some buffalo meat in exchange.

I know this flu outbreak might be very serious, I hope it isn't and that no-one else dies from it. My point is that maybe we should stop condemning our seal hunters and understand that seals are a source of food and income for many people, just like our domestic cow/pig/chicken producers.

Don't anyone mention dog, cat or horse meat, that's just not on the menu! Moose jerky anyone?

The All Important Female Vote!

I never knew my vote was more important than my husbands, but according to recent polls, it appears that it is, go figure! Last federal election both the Liberals and NDP had female quotas. The NDP in BC think that not only do women need special treatment but special interest groups do as well. Where will it end? Are they saying that women are weak, disadvantaged and different than men? Or are they saying that we are in need of special consideration? Whatever it is they are trying to accomplish, so far, it's done nothing but insult females.

I would not want special accommodations made for me because I am a female. Taking away a person's ability to compete in a fair fight, is like cheating on an exam, you get something you didn't deserve. It takes away your self esteem.

If females are so important as voters, the way to win their votes is not necessarily by appointing more female candidates, that's actually counter productive, it elevates females above males just because they are female. We are always hearing about how urban females never vote Conservative, yet they often fail to mention that rural females tend to vote Conservative. So, not only are female voters important, but they even break it down into urban and rural female voters. Polling firms will inform their clients that they need to cater to the urban female voters because there are more of them. Wow, now as a female urban voter my vote is worth even more! Who knew!

Hold it, I also belong to a union, yikes, I'm a really, really valuable voter now. Funny how they write off the western votes because we have so few seats, but think the Liberals are surging in Quebec with 25% of the potential vote, so what ridings might those be in and will it translate into actual new MP's?

As Joanne at Blue Like You asks, did the Liberals goof with Iggy?
He sure doesn't appeal to me, and as I am told by the MSM and my trolls, as a female, I am too dumb to understand the issues, I will just mindlessly vote for a female, because, well, I'm a female, urban, union voter.

Rural women vote Conservative because they understand what it means to be independent. I would love to see some of those feminists who scream for daycare live on a farm for just one week. Try getting up at 6 in the morning in 30 below weather to milk the cows and slop the pigs, because the animals are your livelihood. Throw in Suzuki and things could get really interesting down on the farm.

The all important female vote, worth more because.... well, we are told it is so!

Friday Funnies: Taxes

After just doing my own taxes, I thought a few tax jokes might relieve some of the stress.

A Satisfied Taxpayer
=====================

Dear Internal Revenue Service:

On this April 15th tax return due date you will find enclosed my
2008 tax return showing that I owe $3,407.00 in taxes.

Please note the attached article from the USA Today newspaper,
dated 12 November, wherein you will see the Pentagon (Department
of Defense) is paying $171.50 per hammer and NASA has paid
$600.00 per toilet seat.

I am enclosing four (4) toilet seats (valued @ $2,400) and
six (6) hammers (valued @ $1,029), which I secured at Home Depot,
bringing my total remittance to $3,429.00. Please apply the
overpayment of $22.00 to the "Presidential Election Fund," as
noted on my return.

You can do this inexpensively by sending them one (1) 1.5 inch
Phillips Head screw (see aforementioned article from USA Today
newspaper detailing how H.U.D. pays $22.00 each for 1.5 inch
Phillips Head Screws). One screw is enclosed for your
convenience.

To recap my enclosures:
Four toilet seats
Six hammers
and
One screw

It has been a pleasure to pay my tax bill this year, and I look
forward to paying it again next year.

Taxes And Separation....

It only makes financial sense....My husband and I could have gotten refunds on our income tax of over $6000 it we did separate! Instead we paid even more to the government, but at least our taxes are now filed. We need a total overhaul of our tax system when it encourages couples to separate instead of getting married and raising a family.

Why do they insist that you file your returns separately when they calculate your taxes as a couple? I've even heard of a bunch of university guys living together that have had to sign a declaration that they are not romantically involved! Nutty.

No wonder the Americans were holding tea parties! For a sickening look into the lefty mind, watch this video:

I have never heard of Garofalo but if anyone is racist, she clearly is. She is steeped in leftist propaganda, and seriously needs some mental health intervention.

Interesting that the host let her spew like that without interruption. Who owns MSNBC? Well it appears that would be GE, and at their latest shareholders meeting they got an earful. If you have any GE shares it appears that holding or even buying more might be a good idea. You see cap and trade will be a huge money maker for this company. It's easy to see why they might be very pro-Obama as he supports the cap and trade idea.

"Now, most CEOs would have stopped NBC's corruption a long time ago, but Immelt may be looking for a major payoff," O'Reilly said. "According to reporting by the Washington Examiner, GE is heavily lobbying the Obama administration for bailout money. The company is also pushing for the proposed cap-and-trade program. Apparently GE has set up a joint venture it hopes would manage billions of dollars in cap-and-trade transactions should that corporate carbon tax pass Congress."

NBC has been actively promoting green issues and this revelation by O'Reilly happens to fall during the NBC Universal networks "Green is Universal" week.

"Now think about this ladies and gentlemen - a failing corporation, General Electric might reap billions of dollars if the Feds OK the carbon deal," O'Reilly said. "By the way, GE is already getting taxpayer bailout money for its financial unit. So it's not a stretch to assume Immelt would want to help President Obama as much as possible."

According to O'Reilly, the level of corruption is so big, it stands to make Watergate look small.

"This is obviously a major story - when a powerful corporation, which controls a major part of the American media, may be using its power and the airwaves to influence politics, in order to make money from government contracts," O'Reilly said. "That kind of corruption would make Watergate look small. We hope it is not true."

I can't get the fox news video to embed, try here, go to Fired Up.

This is old news, see this article from 2008.

The General Electric Unit Sale: Obama’s Energy Plan to the Rescue?

In that fox video was a clip about Barney Frank being uninvited to speak at a Washington university function.....hummm.... would that be the same function that Amero-Iggy went too?? I'm not sure, but Iggy is supposed to be meeting with Barney Frank. Is he really that politically tone deaf?

Beautiful Art Lost In The Australian Fires.

Take a break from politics.

I heard about this in an email months ago and it has remained with me. The art work is awe inspiring, the thought that most of this has been lost is so sad.

Thankfully the artist and his family got out of the fires safely. Interestingly enough, once the artist was allowed back onto the property, the remaining artwork was even more haunting then it had been before. Check out what it looks like after the fire.

I hope that they can rebuild it even better than it was before.

Snow Castle Walls!

The average Canadian works all day, comes home, watches the national and regional news, forms their opinion of the day from those sound bites, and turns the channel to hockey.

Only a political junkie would be interested in what our PM was actually up to, and if you are looking on the main pages of the media sites online, you might not find the real treasures, like our PM addressing the Jamaican parliament for the first time in history.

CTV covered the speech, but it does not appear anywhere on their main page, you need to google it to find it.

CTV covers PM's Speech Part One!

CTV covers PM's Speech Part Two!

Watch it, PM Harper did an excellent job of representing Canada, as the first Prime Minister from Canada to address the Jamaican government. This should be at least in the top ten stories the MSM is covering, but CTV does not even mention this historic event. Further, CTV changed the picture on this article. They went from this:

To this:

Someone must have told them that the spontaneous hug made PM Harper look too human, so they quickly replaced it.

Then I found this picture of Iggy, all that blood red and the black shadows gave me the creeps big time!

Yikes, liberals really are scary! Talk about gloom and doom, the walls are bleeding Liberal red and the black shadows seem to be devouring Iggy.

Why would CTV hide our Prime Ministers historic speech? Do they not understand that they need to appeal to ALL Canadians to survive? Their coverage of the hostage taking was abysmal given that all sorts of media were already there to cover PM Harper. No live coverage of the hostages, no live coverage of the PM's speech. Were they too busy sitting on the beach drinking Jamaican rum to actually cover either the hostage taking or PM Harper's speech to the Jamaican parliament?

Snow Castle Walls....what an amazing image PM Harper created.

The Hockey Stick Re-Found

Well the famous hockey stick analysis has been found again, and this time the data is actually factual.

Okay everyone start panicking like the global warmists! Oh wait, that's Canada's unemployment rate.

To all the lefties who think that PM Harper should have known this was going to happen, the graph clearly shows that the big jump didn't happen until December of 2008, and that the rise was catastrophic, to use lefty terms to scare everybody about their own shadows. Let's all start to run around like chickens with their heads cut off! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!

So if the original hockey stick graph portrayed global doom, what does our unemployment hockey stick mean? If this trend continues, by the year 2109, our unemployment rate will be 100%! YIKES! Grab your kids, some vegetable seeds and head for the hills! No one working will mean no government revenues......hey wait a second, maybe that's not such a bad thing. HA!

Seeing as the lefties function on emotions, this graph should scare the living daylights out of them. Expect more fear mongering by the MSM, who by the way are part of the reason that hockey stick is so high, by their own hand, they have sealed their destiny.

Here is an interesting graph that shows that both forestry and autos started to decline in 1999, funny how the majority Liberals never seemed to notice that little trend at the time!

What bothers me is that the Liberals are blaming this downturn on the Conservative government and after being willing to form a coalition government to force MORE spending, are now scaring Canadians about a supposed $80 billion, "structural" deficit, that they conveniently forget to mention is a projection over 5 years.

Lefties are good at fear inducing graphs and emotional pleas to save ____ (fill in the blank) but they lack one of the most important political drivers of all....common sense.

Protests That Would Work!

The TEA parties worked because it was the average American protesting, not against a political party, but against a policy they don't like, and one that hits them in the pocket book.

Most protests are lefty special interest groups that the mainstream voters could care less about, and mainly serve to promote lefty ideals, not necessarily what the average taxpayer cares about. The average person has tuned these protests out. Who cares anymore? Polar bears protesting global warming, gay parades, protests for mandatory daycare, and feminist pro-abortion marches, all leave the average Canadian, cold.

If you want to successfully protest, make sure hits home with the silent majority, and is easy for everyone to participate in, without having to go out and march in the streets. Try these two protests.

Bank fees - pick one day for everyone to stop using their credit and debit cards. If you need money, actually go into the bank to get it. Using an ATM machine is a big no no. Can you imagine how our banking system would react? It's not illegal to not use your debit card, nor is it illegal to walk into a branch of your bank and ask for the cash from your account. Every Canadian could participate without having to take time off work.

Afghanistan Rape Law - All women could show their support for the Afghanistan women by staying at home for one day. Think about your work place, imagine no women there for a day. HA! Thought so, half the work force is female, why can't they go on strike for a day? No female flight attendants, dental assistants, cashiers, teachers, daycare workers, lawyers, engineers, it would be catastrophic. If women want to go outside, they would have to call their husbands home from work to accompany them, and the company would have to let them go. Wouldn't that be way more effective than marching down streets blocking traffic and ticking people off?

One day, that is all it would take, and the silent majority would make it's point.

If you are going to protest, make sure you are appealing to the average Canadian, not just your special narrow interest.

Autistic Child Gets A Special Friend!

Most of you know that our family fosters "Dogs With Wings". Here is the reason why we do it.

The Edmonton Sun has Darren and his new buddy Caper on the front page today, and an excellent article on page three.

Me and my shadow!

Six-year-old Darren Mulcahey and his new family pet are inseparable.

Caper, a 19-month-old black lab, is tethered to the autistic Spruce Grove boy anytime he needs to be kept out of harm's way.

The pooch, specially trained as a watchful companion, will help keep Darren - who has a compulsive obsession with opening and closing doors - within close reach by guiding Darren around public places, following Darren's parents' commands.

"There's been times going to Rona or Home Depot, and if you turn your back for a second to look at something, he'll take off," said Gavin Mulcahey, Darren's father.

That little boy is much safer now because of his dog Caper. The parents can have peace of mind when they know the dog is with Darren. The dog is just happy to have a job to do and people who love him.

The parents of autistic children here in Alberta have been very supportive of the work that Dogs with Wings does for their children. It is an amazing partnership, a real win-win situation. So, will we be able to give Rigger up when the time comes? Yes, with tears of course, but with joy knowing he is destined to help someone who truly needs him.

Caper has been trained by Dogs with Wings - a non-profit training school that produces dogs for the blind, as well as the physically and mentally challenged - to act as an anchor for Darren, said the organization's director of training.

All Gavin and wife Carmen have to do when their son tries to bolt is tell Caper to sit.
Click here to find out more!

'WON'T MOVE'

"We can pull that tether system in every which way, and the dog won't move until its told to," said training director Elisa Irlam.

Caper is also trained to be an emotional anchor - a calming influence on Darren.

"(Darren) sits with the dog and stays put. It's quite amazing," said Gavin.

"He thinks he's looking after the dog, but it's actually the other way around."

"I had to do some banking the other day. It look 10, 15 minutes and there was no trouble," he said.

And the work will continue for years, as Caper now belongs to the Mulcahey family and will guide Darren as long as need be.

Think of how stressful it is for the parents of an autistic child. It's hard enough raising a child as is, but add a disability to the mix, and it makes life just a little bit tougher. I have seen how an autistic child will interact with the dog, they open up and they take the responsibility of keeping the dog safe very seriously.

Gavin's hope is Caper's influence may help combat the anti-social and high-stress effects of autism, paving the way for independent living for Darren later in life.

"People will always want to talk about the dog. Hopefully (Darren) will see" the importance of socializing, said Gavin.

However, all this hope comes at a price - about $30,000 per dog for training.

To pay forward the favour to other families in need, Gavin is hosting a second-annual poker tournament April 26 at the River Cree Resort and Casino at 2 p.m.

Call Dogs with Wings at 780-944-8011 or e-mail Gavin at gjmulcahey@yahoo.ca.

Here is a fun opportunity to support Dogs with Wings if you live in the Edmonton area. Who knows, you might even get to meet Rigger at a poker table! I warn you, he plays a mean paw of poker!

Friday Funnies: Jumping Trolls!

Was Easter only last week? It already seems like forever ago! Oh well, it's Friday, time to relax, have a few chuckles and forget about lefties (they have no sense of humour, they are too busy trying to take over the world to laugh)!

The Four Cats

Four men were bragging about how smart their cats were.
The first man was an Engineer,

The second man was an Accountant,

The third man was a Chemist, and

The fourth man was a Government Employee.
To show off, the Engineer called his cat, "T-square, do your stuff."

T-square pranced over to the desk, took out some paper and pen and promptly drew a circle, a square, and a triangle.

Everyone agreed that was pretty smart.

But the Accountant said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said,

"Spreadsheet, do your stuff."

Spreadsheet went out to the kitchen and returned with a dozen cookies. He divided them into 4 equal piles of 3 cookies.

Everyone agreed that was good.

But the Chemist said his cat could do better. He called his cat and said, "Measure, do your stuff."

Measure got up, walked to the fridge, took out a quart of milk, got a 10 ounce glass from the cupboard and poured exactly 8 ounces without spilling a drop.

Everyone agreed that was pretty good.

Then the three men turned to the Government Employee and said, "What can your cat do?"

The Government Employee called his cat and said, "CoffeeBreak, do your stuff."

CoffeeBreak jumped to his feet.......

Ate the cookies........

Drank the milk.......

Sh*t on the paper........

Screwed the other three cats.......

Claimed he injured his back while doing so.......

Filed a grievance report for unsafe working conditions.......

Put in for Workers Compensation................and

Went home for the rest of the day on sick leave............

AND THAT, MY FRIEND IS WHY EVERYONE WANTS TO WORK FOR THE GOVERNMENT !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A student project, that is outstanding!

A LITTLE THREE YEAR OLD BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET

HIS MOTHER THINKS HE HAS BEEN IN THERE TOO LONG, SO SHE GOES IN TO SEE WHAT'S UP

THE LITTLE BOY IS GRIPPING ON TO THE TOILET SEAT WITH HIS LEFT HAND AND
HITTING HIMSELF ON TOP OF THE HEAD WITH HIS RIGHT HAND

HIS MOTHER SAYS: "BILLY, ARE YOU ALRIGHT? YOU'VE BEEN IN HERE FOR AWHILE."

BILLY SAYS: "I'M FINE, MOMMY. I JUST HAVEN'T GONE 'DOODY' YET."

MOTHER SAYS: "OK, YOU CAN STAY HERE A FEW MORE MINUTES. BUT, BILLY, WHY
ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF ON THE HEAD?"

BILLY SAYS: "WORKS FOR KETCHUP."

This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday. The
Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"

I thought this was the BEST idea.

*Dear Mr.President,***

*Patriotic retirement:***

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force;

pay them $1 million each severance with stipulations:

1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry
fixed.

3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage- Housing Crisis fixed.

All this and it's still cheaper than the "bailout".

May You Always Make The Right Moves....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My own special Friday funny! This just happened tonight, and I'm still chuckling about it.

Phone rings, it's a charity calling. They want $1 a day to feed the school children who can not concentrate in school because their poor stomachs are growling so loud (this fact is repeated about 5 times in two minutes). They need food and it will only cost me $365 a year!

I say no thanks, I've already given to the charity of my choice.

They say, well ANYTHING you can donate would be appreciated.

So, I tell them I would be more than willing to help them grow their own food in a garden, and that I only needed some land and those poor starving kids to help me plant a vegetable garden.

The caller told me she would pass me to her supervisor. I can clearly hear her telling her supervisor that she had someone who wanted to actually GROW the food for the kids! They were pretty much thinking they had a nut case on the line, and laughing about it. The supervisor came on and asked me what question I had.

I told him I wanted to help those poor starving kids by planting them a garden. He referred me to a web site. End of call. They were just happy to get rid of the gardening nutcase, and my money is still in my pocket. Win-Win for both of us.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, your mindless game....jumping trolls! HA!!! This was too funny for me not to play, my little trolls kept getting eaten by the owls.

Have a great Friday night and/or Saturday morning! Remember, life is yours to enjoy, so go out tomorrow and smell spring! To all you basement dwellers, you need to actually go outside to smell spring!

CNN Reporter AFTER The Cameras Are Off!

We have all seen the Chicago Tea Party video with the disgraceful CNN reporter, but have you seen what happened to her AFTER the CNN cameras were off?

Watch this, it starts with the video we have all seen, but after she has shut off the cameras, the crowd gives her a piece of their minds. That father with the baby has a few choice words for her.

Guess the MSM has forgotten that they aren't the only ones with video cameras! The arrogant CNN reporter thought she could frame the message, I'm sure CNN was patting itself on the back knowing they had distorted the true reason for the tea parties, and then we get the whole picture from a group with a video camera, turning the tables on them. HA! Too funny!

They also overstepped the bounds of reporting by constantly using the term "teabagging" which only a sexual pervert would have known the meaning of, but that's your lefties for you, it's all about power, money and sex.

UPDATE: My buddy Ardvark pointed me to this little video of Susan, she is such a fair and unbiased reporter. Well you decide.....

For Their Children!

Immigration is a sticky issue especially in a recession. Being that Canada is the most tolerant nation in the world, the waiting list to enter our country is huge. How do we make sure that those who enter our country are going to assimilate into our culture, and not expect us to assimilate into their old cultures, that they have supposedly left behind?

Listen to this podcast, some very important points are made. Come to Canada because you want to make Canada your new home, not a passport of convenience.

Remember the 2006 rescue of Lebanese-Canadians? Remember how quickly those 30,000 Lebanese-Canadians returned to that war torn country Lebanon? Remember how PM Harper waited for the first boat to arrive so that he could fly them home to Canada? Remember how they figuratively spat in his face? I do. I was disgusted. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Recently I talked to two immigrants, one from Pakistan and one born in Afghanistan, both were studying to get their citizenship. One is a father of five children, the other is a young lady. When I asked them, separately why their families had immigrated to Canada, both answered, the children. They both understood that Canada was a safe place for their children, both are busy learning English and so happy to be here that they never want to go back to their old lives. These are the immigrants we want, not Canadians of convenience.

I support smart immigration, like Jason is proposing. We can't help them all, but we can welcome those who are willing to respect our laws and through education of the very children they want to give a better life to, they will all become true Canadians.

For their children!

We Are With You Manitoba!

Who hasn't watched a waterfall and felt the power, beauty and force of it's nature. A river can be beautiful until it rises beyond it's banks and threatens our homes. That's when it becomes personal and devastating. I was impressed that the Prime Minister of Canada would spend so much time viewing the damage in Manitoba.

Harper promises assistance for flood-hit Manitoba

Prime Minister Stephen Harper toured flood-stricken areas in southern Manitoba on Tuesday, and said the federal government would help the province recover from damage left by the rising Red River.

"The federal government stands ready to assist in any way that is needed ... as the situation unfolds," Harper told reporters in Winnipeg. "Anything that's needed, the people of Canada will be there to help the people of Manitoba."

I second PM Harper, if you need us, we will come! Read the comments on the article. The interesting thing is that most comments were pro-Harper, and they took the whiners to task. Funny how the comments were shut down really early, also funny is that CTV didn't happen to have any video of PM Harper that they could post on the site. Guess they could care less about the people of Manitoba because they couldn't bother to have an actual camera there, but I clearly remember two Liberal PM's touring the floods because they showed it to us endlessly on TV. PM Harper gets one picture and no video. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

Let me inform CTV of one little fact, if you show no video of the PM, I will not be able to watch those videos, and your advertisers are going to suffer because no one will be watching those ads you post before the actual video. You had 7 videos of experts etc., I clicked on NONE of them, so no ads watched, therefore no revenue. Oh, why do I bother, you guys figure it out. $$$$ lost because of pigheaded liberal media supporters, hint....think jobs people.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to the people of Manitoba fighting the floods. Our basement flooded in the 100 year and 200 year storms that hit Edmonton, it took months to get everything back to normal, but we did it.

Remember that things can be replaced, but lives are precious. Stay safe and guard your family first, then worry about your belongings.

It's An Infestation!

Lately my blog has had more comments from lefty trolls than it has from my regular posters. If you object to the term troll, here is the definition:

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

Here is a link from a post about an Alberta farmer facing 7 charges for trying to protect his property from thieves.

The comments start off calling me on my spelling, and go downhill from there. My solution to a troll infestation is comment moderation. Ardvark mentioned how my blog seems to attract trolls, and I told him I didn't want to go to comment moderation because it stops the flow of a good discussion. Well yesterdays comments were anything but a good discussion. It was childish and served only the purpose of the trolls to make the discussion irrelevant and off-topic.

Freedom of speech is next to our right to own property, and in Canada we have neither. Go to Rabble sometimes and post something Conservative, see how long you last until they boot you, they don't worry about free speech, the lefties only want speech that they agree with, anything else, they BAN you. Funny how lefties love to BAN everything. I guess they think if they BAN everything they disagree with, it will be a perfect world and conservative ideas will not exist anymore.

This is a perfect example of how property rights have been distorted by lefty organizations.

Home ownership is NOT a right! It is your right to protect your property, just not in Canada, where property rights are not in the constitution. If the city decides that the new LRT line is going through your property, you have no rights. They offer you "fair market" value, and you have to take it or get evicted.

So, I consider my blog, my property, and if I want to kick squatters off that property, I can and I will. SHOO!!!

Farmers Are Rebels and Vigilanties!

Now that Easter is over, I can go back to reporting from my point of view whatever is bugging me, and yes, lefties bug me constantly. Here are some Easter headlines:

Sudan kidnappers threaten to kill Cdn aid worker, colleague

Sudan kidnappers.

U.S. Navy rescues captain held by Somali pirates

Somali pirates.

Ottawa under stress as Tamil protest enters day 6 (Calling CTV spell check is easy to use! Check out the first photo heading: Tamil protesters want the Canadian government to pressure Sri Lankan offcials to permanantly end a seasfire Sheesh, now the seas are on fire? Has anyone told the eco-nuts?)

Sri Lankan Tamil protesters.

And finally, right here in Alberta.....

Vigilantism cheered: A hero in handcuffs

Alberta Vigilantism.

A vigilante is a person who violates the law in order to exact what they believe to be justice from criminals, because they think that the criminal will not be caught or will not be sufficiently punished by the legal system.

Several groups and individuals have been labeled as vigilantes by various historians and media. Vigilantes have been central to several creative fictional works and are often depicted as being heroes and retaliatory against wrongdoers.

Members of community watch programs and others who use legal means of bringing people to justice are not considered vigilantes. For example, in 1979 Curtis Sliwa founded the Guardian Angels in New York City, a recognized crime fighting organization that now has chapters in many other cities. See also citizen's arrest.

So, all the rural community needs to do is start up it's own version of the Guardian Angels! This is something to think about, did the community have a rural crime watch in place? If not, they should get busy and start one.

The point. We have Sudan kidnappers, Somali pirates, Sri Lankan protesters supporting a terrorist organization, and the only one being called a criminal and charged, is a farmer protecting his property. His name has been released and reported in the press, but the guy who actually stole the ATV and truck has not been named, I wonder why? I used to respect the RCMP and I wrote most of the negative reports off as typical lefty pandering to the criminals, but lately I am starting to think that Alberta would be better off with our own provincial police force.

Notice that these criminals are never called criminals or terrorists, except for one poor Alberta farmer. I hope he goes for trial by his peers, which would be 12 farmers if our justice system worked properly. Remember when the Liberals jailed our farmers for selling their own wheat?

Thursday's demonstration was organized by a minority of rebels, according to the federal minister responsible for the wheat board, Ralph Goodale. Most farmers support the current regulations, he said during an interview in Ottawa.

Notice how Goodale had no problem calling our western farmers REBELS, not protesters!!! Now they are being called VIGILANTES, not ordinary citizens protecting their property! Wow, Alberta really is the wild west! Guess that's why I feel safer here, we know the difference between terrorists, criminals, gangs and ordinary citizens.

Oh Happy Day!! Happy Easter!

Spring is a wonderful time of rebirth, for all people, no matter their faith. Saturday families were out walking and enjoying the beautiful weather. Funny how Good Friday is always dreary and cold. We even had our first thunderstorm of the year roll through to remind us of the importance of how tiny we are in this huge universe. I love thunderstorms, and we get the best ones on the prairies, the power of the thunder and lightening is awe inspiring.

Easter Sunday is a renewal of our faith and a joyous time for all creatures. It's a time to sing and rejoice. Even though it was only a movie, you have to admit that this video gives hope.

This is an interesting video about how a prison in the Philippines keeps their prisoners engaged. Somehow, I don't think this would work in our maximum security prisons.

Easter would not be complete without the Easter Bunny! This one is non-traditional, but cute!

Easter Bunny Rapper!

Everything I Need to Know, I Learned From the Easter Bunny...

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Walk softly and carry a big carrot.

Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.

There's no such thing as too much candy.

All work and no play can make you a basket case.

Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.

Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.

Keep your paws off other people's jellybeans.

Good things come in small sugar-coated packages.

The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

Jasmine, An Inspiration for Saturday

Good Friday is always a day for reflection in our house. A day to remember why Jesus died for all of us, and how we are living our lives. So, I want to share this wonderful example of how animals can get along way better than humans. I ask you, who are the compassionate ones, animals or humans?

Meet Jasmine, the rescue dog who has become a surrogate mother for the 50th time

When Jasmine the abandoned greyhound arrived at a wildlife sanctuary shivering and desperate for food, she needed all the love in the world to nurse her back to full health.

Now it appears the kindness and patience shown to her has rubbed off - for the rescue dog has become a surrogate mother for the 50th time.

Seven-year-old Jasmine is currently caring for tiny Bramble, an 11-week-old roe deer fawn found semi-conscious in a nearby field.

She cuddles up to her to keep her warm, showers her with affection and makes sure nothing is matted in her fur. In short, the perfect foster mum.

But then again, she has had plenty of practice, having cared for five fox cubs, four badger cubs, 15 chicks, eight guinea pigs, two stray puppies and even 15 rabbits.

Some people could not believe this could be possible and some thought this picture had been photo shopped:

Snopes checked it out, and everything is true. They have more pictures and a fuller story.

They named her Jasmine, and they started to think about finding her an adoptive home.

But Jasmine had other ideas. No-one remembers now how it began, but she started welcoming all Animal arrivals at the sanctuary. It wouldn't matter if it was a puppy, a fox cub, a rabbit or, any other lost or hurting Animal, Jasmine would peer into the box or cage and, where possible, deliver a welcoming lick.

Geoff relates one of the early incidents. "We had two puppies that had been abandoned by a nearby railway line. One was a Lakeland Terrier cross and another was a Jack Russell Doberman cross. They were tiny when they arrived at the centre and Jasmine approached them and grabbed one by the scruff of the neck in her mouth and put him on the settee. Then she fetched the other one and sat down with them, cuddling them."

"But she is like that with all of our animals, even the rabbits. She takes all the stress out of them and it helps them to not only feel close to her but to settle into their new surroundings.

Just another example of why I love greyhounds. They are the most amazing dogs; smart, gentle, quiet, and they love kids. Considering the lives many of them endure at the tracks, it is truly an indication of the heart these dogs have that they remain gentle companions, of not just humans but other living things that come into their lives.

After the sorrow of yesterday, I hope this serves as a reminder that we can all get along when it really matters.

The Fire In Your Gut!

Meeting PM Harper today, made a huge impression on me. You see, lately, I’ve been blogging, but without “heart”. There has been no fire in my gut. Here is my journey that led to my actually meeting the Prime Minister of Canada.

I have always been a Conservative voter, maybe it’s the air out here in Alberta, or maybe it’s how you are raised to believe in yourself and your abilities. So all I ever did was go and vote for whichever Conservative was running either provincially or federally. I thought that was the extent of my duty as a Canadian.

When Mulroney crashed and burned, I found the Reform Party. I voted for the various versions that ensued; it didn’t bother me that they were not in power, because they represented my views better than any other party out there. All I did was vote, I never engaged.

Then Adscam hit, and I woke up. I realized that my inattention had allowed the Liberals to take power, and keep it even though they proved to be corrupt. The backroom boys were running my beloved Canada. I didn’t like it, not one little bit. That’s when I got politically involved. I slept through the 2004 election. Who was Stephen Harper? I didn’t know, except I remembered some blonde bimbo wanting to be the Conservative party leader, and that this Stephen Harper had beat her. Thank goodness.

The Liberal Adscam scandal put the fire into my gut. I emailed my MP, James Rajotte, and he promptly invited me to his volunteer appreciation BBQ. The rest is history. I became engaged, active and now I do more than just vote for a party, I actively participate in the Conservative party. My reward was meeting the Prime Minister of Canada today.

It put the fire back into my gut.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is an exceptional individual under tremendous pressure in a minority government. He is up against the Liberals, NDP and Bloc, all left leaning parties who tried to band together to bring his freshly elected government down, against the will of Canadians. He has to put up with a left leaning, aggressive media, and he also has to try to keep Conservatives united. Only an outstanding individual could accomplish that and still run a country. Let me repeat that for all the dissatisfied conservatives….RUN A COUNTRY!

In 2006, I door knocked in the cold at least 10 times to get the Conservatives elected into government. In the last election, I door knocked once, then made excuses. There was no fire in my gut.

Conservatives like me need to wake up. The Liberals crave power; they will lie, cheat and steal to get it back. We cannot be smug thinking the Conservatives will get re-elected. Most importantly we need to get that old Reform fire back in our guts.

An exceptional man is running our country. We see him constantly derided by the press and the opposition. I get lefty trolls on my site daily, sneering and deriding our Prime Minister or anything Conservative. They personally attack me, and commenter’s on my blog. We are saturated by lefty propaganda, daily. They feed it to us morning, noon and night. I am sick of it.

The world respects our Prime Minister, our troops are finally respected instead of sneered at because of this PM, and yet Canadians mindlessly march towards socialism, thinking pensions (CAW) should be guaranteed by governments, and that jobs should be for life.

We have forgotten what we stand for….Canada. We need to get that fire back in our guts.

Rigger Meets PM Harper!

What a day Rigger and I had! We got to meet PM Harper! I was very impressed with him. He is very down to earth and for all you dog lovers, I have it straight from the Prime Minister that he loves dogs and would someday, like to get a Labrador.

The first thing he wanted to do was pet Rigger. During the picture of the Edmonton Leduc participants, (edited from the picture because I do not have permission to post their pictures), PM Harper made sure the photographer got Riggers attention. This photo is by my friend, Ardvark. Thanks Ardvark, it was really nice meeting you. He can now attest to the fact that I am a real person, and that I am a female. He put together the fact that I had a "Dogs with Wings" dog with me, and that I was from Edmonton Leduc, so he came up and introduced himself. And here I thought I was all anonymous and everything, sheesh! It's going to be fun now because I can put a face to Ardvark when I read his blog.

The event was really enjoyable because you were in a room full of Conservatives, with not a single troll in sight. With only about 150 people in the room, and an hour and a half delay because of the protesters, not a single person complained. I met Rona Ambrose and Peter Goldring, both loved Rigger. You could walk up to anyone there and just start talking, of course Rigger is an excellent icebreaker, as my 15 year old son knows.

The Tamil protesters were out in force (10), with their terrorist flags waving, not a single Canadian flag in sight, it was frankly disgusting to see. How they expect Canadians to support their cause is beyond me. How they found out about this meeting is a mystery too, because it was thrown together in 2 days by the organizer, I only found out about it last night.

The Prime Minister gave a short speech, then met everyone for photos. He got in some good shots about Iffy changing his speeches from province to province, issue to issue, and how Liberals are all about getting back into power and only need two positive polls to force an election. PM Harper was very relaxed. He makes great eye contact, and is obviously very comfortable with who he is and what he wants to accomplish. I can picture sitting down with him over a beer and a good curling game and having a nice relaxing time. The whole gathering was very casual but reaffirming for Conservatives.

Rigger of course is oblivious to the fact that he met a very special person today, he thinks all people are special, especially if they pay attention to him. There was a real seeing eye dog there and Rigger ignored him, which is what he is supposed to do. So Rigger was the star of the day, and he doesn't even know it.

Liberals NOW Support Mulroney!

Well it appears that the Prime Minister has called the Liberals on their fake support of Mulroney.

OTTAWA -- Prime Minister Stephen Harper waded into his party's internal spat over the treatment of Brian Mulroney on Wednesday, turning his verbal fire on Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff and reminding critics the former prime minister had "demanded" a public inquiry into his dealings with German-born lobbyist Karlheinz Schreiber.

Mr. Harper defended his government's handling of the "difficult issue" during a news conference in Moncton, N.B., where he also charged that Mr. Ignatieff, who this week accused Mr. Harper of not showing proper respect for Mr. Mulroney, has "absolutely no moral compass" for commenting on government conduct and ethics.

...."First of all, Mr. Ignatieff and the Liberal party -- when this matter first broke -- were practically demanding that I throw Mr. Mulroney in prison without a trial. Now they are out there pretending that somehow they are his best friends and they don't agree with any of this," Mr. Harper said.

Demanding they throw Mulroney in jail, how about wanting to hang him?? Remember this?

Hang him, hang him high! That was the Liberal MP Shawn Murphy from PEI wanting Mulroney hung, but now the Liberals are bleeding Conservative blue for him? Sending him birthday wishes? Hypocrites. You slimy little people, you started this whole thing by visiting Karl in prison and cooking up a deal to keep him in Canada, then your MP's hammered the government to call an inquiry. They did just that, but you were not happy.

The Liberal Chairman of the ethics committee Paul Szabo, who had personally visited Schrieber in jail, a clear conflict of interest, called a witch hunt on Mulroney and proceeded to shut down anyone who disputed him.

Liberals are now supposedly close friends and supporters of the very person they wanted to hang. Funny how Liberals are still using this issue to try and score political points. The MSM is obviously too stupid to investigate this matter, or even show any balance in reporting.

Hate to break it to you guys/gals no-one cares about a 20 year old scandal. Conservatives reduced the PC party to two seats because of it, why haven't the Liberal party voters reduced the Liberals to two seats because of Adscam? Where is that 34 million the Liberal party stole from Canadians while in government? Funny 34 million against 240,000 and Mulroney is the big bad guy? Typical Liberal VALUES!

UPDATE: MP Szabo has commented on this post.

Correction. The assertion that I met with Schreiber while he was in jail is untrue. The only time I have ever seen him is when he appeared before me at the Ethics Committee hearings.

I would appreciate it if someone would let me know the source of this false accusation or at least ask the source what proof they have. Then you will know they cannot be trusted.
