Even Slaves Had More Value!

Yesterday only one female MP, from the NDP stood up and asked about the new law in Afghanistan against women and what she did was blame the Conservative government and our troops. Minister Stockwell Day respectfully told her where to go!

I talked to a young Muslim woman the other day. Her family moved from Saudi Arabia to Canada so she could have more freedom. Even here, in Canada, with liberal parents, she can not let it be known that she has met a Muslim male that she really likes. Even here, she is confined and not really free.

Let us “imagine” a world where ALL females band together in an all out protest against the treatment of women around the world. Think about it seriously.

Imagine!

Fadwa has beautiful almond shaped eyes and thick, beautiful hair, which she keeps covered. She is to be married to someone her parents have picked for her. If she does not obey, she might be murdered in an honour killing. She could even be killed for not covering her hair at school.

Abigail has been raised in a religious cult, and will be married to an older man who already has multiple wives. She will be more of a slave than a wife, but she knows no other life, and has no means to escape her fate.

Emily has been trying to raise her children but as a single Mom, she is finding in hard to make ends meet. If only she had the same rights to property ownership as everyone else, she might be able to keep her home after her common law husband has left her, but that is not possibly as his rights to the property supersede hers and she has no right of ownership.

Fantasy? Third world? Afghanistan? How about right here in Canada! This is mild compared to what is happening around the world. Genial mutilation, rape by husbands, denial of even the right to go to the doctor, or to leave your home without an escort, these are all happening today.

Where are the feminists marching on Parliament Hill? Where are the protests?

Think about a vise being applied to your heart, slowing draining all feeling. You live, but you are dead. Your husband can take you anytime he wants because you are less than a dog. Other men can take you because they caught you without a male escort, and then you might be stoned to death because they raped you. You go to school to learn, and you learn that males will throw acid in your face because you are less than an animal to them, and must be put in your place.

How can you RAGE against this inhumanity? How can you RAGE against your oppressors? Who will hear your calls for freedom? You are met by SILENCE.

Where are those feminists who cry about the lack of pay equity and demand daycare for all? They are busy crying about imaginary cuts to the Status of Women funding. They are too busy supporting abortion on demand up to 40 weeks to be concerned with your plight. Sorry, your problems are not even on their radar, you are not victim enough. You refuse to go quietly. You embarrass them and their “movement”.

SHUT UP! You are not part of the feminist movement, whatever that has become. They don’t care that you can be stoned to death for getting raped, they have their fingers in their ears while they sing. They can not hear you, they do not want to hear you, because you remind them that their mission has failed.

I expect every female MP, no matter what party, to get together and protest what is happening in Afghanistan, Darfur, and Saudi Arabia, and most importantly here in Canada. This is not about your political party, this is about women who have no rights and are less than slaves. At least slaves had value to their owners.

They don't complain because the fantasy of all peoples and value systems being of equal value would be thrown right out the window.

How can you criticize the ancient brown cultures without making a value judgment? After all, who are we to criticize genital mutilation when there are pay equity issues to be raised here at home?

The NDP are sooooo out of touch with reality that anything they say is become irrelevent. They exist simply to make stupid grunting noises in the house. No one affords them any credibility at all.

Besides, Dear Leader said that Afghanistan is "unwinnable".

Besides, Dear Southern Quebec needs it ass kicked out of Canada.
Northern Quebec stays. Thanks for the Hydro power. Good luck!

Anybody who blames the Conservative government for the lack of rights for women in Afghanistan is full of crap. For one thing, the Liberals began our involvement over there - end of story.

Karzai has done a turnabout and, as far as I am concerned, we should pull out and let them sort themselves out.

In Canada, we have Muslim women being killed for "honour" and we have FLDS in British Columbia. Yet, the feminists are completely silent as is the entire left-wing.

Hunter - I blogged on this topic a week or so ago. Check with Joanne for the link.

Southern Quebec - your comment is pretty silly. Obviously, you just wanted to toss in an anti-Harper line even though you completely avoided the topic at hand. May I assume that you are in favour of no rights for women - that women should be slaves with no voice or rights? Since you didn't address the actual topic, I assume that you evaded it because you wish to remove all rights from women.

Nice guy.

My point is, that women had no rights before we were there. They have no rights while we are there. So what is the point of us being there? Really. This is a complete waste of time and money. We piss away cash putting up buildings so that the Taliban can blow them up -- along with our troops. Why don't we spend the money on kids in the far north that don't have schools and probably wouldn't blow them up if they did!

And Dear Leader is not the solution. He couldn't even get out of the bathroom to get his photo taken with the G20! hahahahah

SQ is a typical lefty. Let's ignore the problem because those women have always been oppressed and always will be. It's not up to us to change their lives.

Well, SQ, as a female I applaud our troops for volunteering to help those women and children have the same chance at life as we do.

Maybe you should get off your computer and try helping those children in the north, go up there and teach them how to use a computer, give some of your time towards helping a shelter near you. Don't expect the government to fix all the problem. I'm sure that's a radical idea for you, but some of us actually get off our butts and help people who are not as advantaged as we are. Try it, you might like yourself better.

Hunter, could you post more information on the anecdotes you put on this post? Some background information on these stories?

You see, I am puzzled. On the one hand you understand that our troops are not concentrating on individual cases over there, but rather trying to change the overall situation which can help many more people all at once than individual helping efforts. Yet you demand that "feminists" do the individual cases you claim are ignored, and you think they should stop trying to change overall situations, even though that can help a lot more people.

Why the difference?

hunter said...

Well LS it seems you can not distinguish my "made up" cases from real cases. That tells me that they rang true.

Oh Hunter.

I think he was successfully pointing out that you are making things up in order to prove your non-existant point.

"Where are the feminists marching on Parliament Hill? Where are the protests?"

I don't know - I was looking for all the REAL women. Where are their protests again???

hunter said...

Oh Gayle, we REAL women don't protest on Parliament Hill, we have more self respect than to go begging our government. That's my point, that you obviously failed to understand, the feminists protest at the drop of a hat about free daycare, but they never protest against REAL injustices against REAL women.

I would love for you to prove me wrong!

Gayle said...

That is kind of a sad point.

Terrible things are happening to women, but since REAL women have never cared about anything other than their right wing agenda, it absolves them of caring about these women?

What an odd thing to be bragging about.

Now Gayle, you know that your comments is evasive. You fail to note how you feel about these poor women in Afghanistan and chose to attack REAL women, instead. How do you feel about the women in FLDS out in BC? How do you feel about the women in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia?

REAL women has its cause and sticks to it. You can't fault them for that. But, I have to ask where are the vocal protests with regard to the poor women in Bountiful BC? Where is your voice, Gayle?

Gayle said...

Where is YOUR voice East?

Sure, you post about it - but are you doing anything useful?
