Why Do You Vote Conservative?

I vote Conservative because I want the individual to count. I want people to succeed on their own merits. I do not want the "elites" telling me what to do and think. I care about family first, I love my kids and try to make sure they are happy, I am sure lefties feel the same way, so why vote Conservative?

What makes one person vote Liberal and another vote Conservative? I think being a Conservative is all about doing for yourself not relying on the government. Conservatives are doers. They don't just talk, they don't write reports, they get to the root of the problem and solve it.

Liberals talk about a problem and create committees to study the problem but they seldom solve anything. That is why Iggy is like a ghost, he has no opinions, no policies and no direction for his people. At least Dion stood for something, Iggy stands for nothing.

Liberal values; suck up to terrorists, special interest groups and immigrants. Hire immigrants to shine your shoes, and demand your entitlements. Support swingers clubs because that is so "now". Reject religion because you are too smart to be taken in by it, but global warming is real because Gore created a movie about it.

Why do you vote Conservative? What do you want to see if the Conservatives ever get a majority and don't have to cater to the leftist voters?

I have my priorities; get rid of the CWB and CBC, reduce the power of racists unions, allow income splitting for families, spend more on the disabled and seniors, and quit banning everything.

What do you want to see?

"Offensive" American Flag

I know Iggy thinks our flag looks like a beer label, guess he was out of the country when the Liberals changed our flag. Oops Iggy.

Unfortunately, Canada isn't the only country with flag haters. Even in America you get people complaining about their flag.

Texas Woman Told to Remove 'Offensive' American Flag From Office

“I got into work, I was met by my supervisor and told that there had been multiple complaints, that people found the flag very offensive and it had been taken down," McLucas told

"I went to the office to retrieve it and found the flag wrapped around the pole, sitting in the corner on the ground. I was speechless."

McLucas, a supervisor at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, Texas, had displayed the 3-by-5-foot flag in the office she shares with the hospital’s three other supervisors. McLucas said one of her colleagues, a woman who immigrated to the United States from Africa 14 years ago, complained about the flag to upper management, and the hospital decided to take down the flag.

"I was told that as long as my flag offended one person, it would be taken down," McLucas said.

Funny how one complaint can have that much power. Political correctness totally disrespects our freedom of speech. Even my Friday funnies got attacked today because I had some jokes about rednecks.

We also had Ralph Goodale and his sidekick Jennings yapping about tar babies being racist. I think Ralph got confused and thought Pierre was referring to those black licorice candies called "n**ger toes". We of course don't call them that anymore, but Ralph is getting up there in years so maybe he can be forgiven, but for Jennings to use her blackness to call someone racist, just lowers the bar for what is true racism, she should know better.

It's getting so bad, you can't even pray together anymore!

Couple Ordered to Stop Holding Bible Study at Home Without Permit

Pastor David Jones and his wife Mary have been told that they cannot invite friends to their San Diego, Calif. home for a Bible study — unless they are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to San Diego County.

"On Good Friday we had an employee from San Diego County come to our house, and inform us that the Bible study that we were having was a religious assembly, and in violation of the code in the county." David Jones told FOX News.

"We told them this is not really a religious assembly — this is just a Bible study with friends. We have a meal, we pray, that was all," Jones said.

A few days later, the couple received a written warning that cited "unlawful use of land," ordering them to either "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit," the couple's attorney Dean Broyles told San Diego news station 10News.

The lefties attack free speech and religion because it doesn't agree with their tiny little minds, no room in there for thought nor the ability to understand different viewpoints. Progressives, those who understand only their point of view. Ban Bible studies but allow swingers clubs? Right, that probably makes sense to a progressive, because morals are to be sneered at and denigrated.

If I say lefties trolls are "offensive" and I want them removed from my blog, do you think the HRC's would hear my case? HA!

Friday Night Funnies: Rednecks

Okay, Friday is here and it's time for the Friday funnies. I was at a music concert tonight, so this is a rushed job.

Ever wonder what Santa does in the Summer?

Sort of takes the joy out of Christmas doesn't it?

Redneck Cooler:

Did you hear that the Redneck governor's

Liberal Hypocrites!

Liberals being hypocrites was the theme of question period today. Funny how CTV carried question period live yesterday, but today....nothing. Too bad the expected public outrage didn't materialize. Exactly the reverse happened, even a CTV poll went way wrong.

The opposition parties are demanding Finance Minister Jim Flaherty be fired. Do you agree?
Yes 35%
No 65%

Today, both PM Harper and Minister Flaherty wiped the floor with the opposition.

What bothers me most is this little ticking bomb that the media is running with.

CPP bosses to receive millions in bonuses

The heads of the Canada Pension Plan are slated to take home millions in bonus payouts this year, even as the fund struggles and the economy slips deeper into recession.

According to the fund's annual report just released by the CPP Investment Board, David Denison, the president and CEO of the CPP, along with his top four executives, will take home a total $8.5 million in pay and bonuses for the 2009 fiscal year.

Most Canadians do not understand that CPP is NOT managed by the government. Just like the Bank of Canada is totally independent from the government, so is CPP. This is a VERY good thing. EI is managed by the government and that is how the Liberals were able to take $54 Billion from the fund for their pet projects. Imagine if the 100 Billion in the CPP was in government hands, many pensioners would end up with nothing. Liberals drained a healthy EI fund, they would do the same thing with CPP.

EI is paid by employers and employees, it should be separated just like CPP, so governments can not get their hands on it. Now the Liberals are pushing for the government to interfere in the workings of the CPP, this is a very scary direction that both the Liberals and the MSM are taking. The MSM is using the envy factor (big bonuses) to ramp up the issue and they are making sure that the Conservatives get blamed for the bonuses granted by an independent board.

Yet if the Conservatives try to get freedom for our western farmers from the Canadian Wheat Board, that's close to being a dictatorship, and jailing farmers is what deserves to happen to those knuckle dragging red necked westerners anyways. It doesn't matter that eastern farmers can sell their wheat to anyone they want, and that ticks me off, why aren't the eastern farmers standing with their western brothers? Greed? Fear of competition?

If eastern farmers think the Canadian Wheat Board is such a great idea, they should be forced to join it just like our western farmers, that would show true solidarity. I thought Ontario farmers were like our western farmers, but sadly they are willing to see western farmers crushed by the CWB yoke.

50 Billion, Why Does That Sound Familiar?

Something about Liberals and spending EI funds to pay down the deficit....Oh right the Supreme Court ruled on that.

The Supreme Court of Canada says that Ottawa illegally collected employment insurance contributions for three years under the former Liberal government.

The court, though, rejected union claims that Ottawa diverted money from deliberately-over-inflated EI surpluses to balance the federal budget and fund programs.

In a 7-0 decision, the court ruled EI premiums were inappropriately collected between 2002, 2003, and 2005. That's when the Liberal cabinet set EI rates directly without the authorization from Parliament and the employment insurance commission, a violation of the principle of no taxation without representation.

"This means that employment insurance premiums were collected unlawfully, without the necessary legislative authorization," Justice Louis LeBel wrote in the decision.

Now the Liberals are upset about a deficit that is being caused by a world wide recession? This, after they tried to form a coalition government so they could be in control of the spending with the NDP and Bloc?

Chretien raided the EI funds during boom times, 54 billion to be exact. Now in a recession, the Conservative government is spending money on roads and bridges, they are offering unemployed workers the ability to retrain and gain skills, they have a home reno program, all programs aimed at helping Canadians.

The debate over how EI premiums could be used began in the 1990s, when Paul Martin, then-prime minister Jean Chretien's finance minister, brought in new EI legislation.

New rules made it more difficult for laid off workers to be eligible for benefits, but they also brought in new training programs.

Critics had argued the government was raising EI premiums to fund the new programs, while cutting benefits for those out of work.

Well that's Liberals for you, stealing from hard working Canadians (where is that 40 million that went into the Liberal party coffers?), to gain votes.

They are trying it again, fire Flaherty they scream (read the comments, noone is buying it), he is the bad guy they shout, an increased deficit they moan.....DEFICIT! They know Conservatives hate deficits and debt. They know deficit is a dirty word to anyone who is fiscally conservative/liberal, but they fail to understand that a recession changes perceptions.

Run a deficit in good times like the Liberals did until Reform and the IMF clued them in, not a good thing. Run a deficit in bad times, and make no mistake, the media has been telling us this recession is worse than the Great Depression, and people will shrug.

The media is now the Liberals worse enemy, they pumped up the recession so much that Canadians now believe that big spending is necessary. Canadians have seen what Obama is spending in the US, so 34 or 50 or 80 billion spent by Canada just doesn't feel big, after all the US are talking 1.2 TRILLION.

Funny how CTV never covers question period live, but today they were right there covering the first three Liberal questions. Bet the Liberals phoned up their pals in the media and told them they were going to call for Flaherty's head. Too bad that PM Harper made Iggy look like an idiot. How does Iggy respond? He reverts to his American background and calls PM Harper....Nixon? Too funny. Iggy go home to Obama, he has some shoes that need to be shined....oh wait...Iggy was a big Bush supporter, no wonder he is up here now after 34 years. I suspect if you really did the math, Iggy was probably out of the country for more than 45 years of his live, but who's counting?

What The Average Canadian Cares About Politics....

Nothing! I was in BC for the last two days, (my new teeth are beautiful, thanks to my favorite brother-in-law dentist!) and I read no paper, didn't go online to see what was happening, and talked to family about issues like, what flowers to plant where, how a neighbour of theirs had suffered a massive heart attack, and how we were all going to drive to Vancouver for a 50th wedding anniversary.

Sure we mentioned policies briefly, but seriously no-one cares about politics until an election is called, and even then most couldn't be bothered to get out and vote.

It was a refreshing change to be away from the blogsphere, until I was waiting in Vancouver for my Air Canada, Edmonton flight. Great big screen showing the CBC news, get on the plane, CBC news. Brainwashing 101, especially for new Canadians.

My own family doesn't visit my blog because they have better things to do, like work, go for walks to stay healthy, and try to decide what colour of paint looks best on their house. By the way, that was one of the mentions of the federal government, the credit for renovations, everyone loves that one! Especially my nephew who has started a refrigeration and heating company, he's so busy putting in energy efficient furnaces/air conditioners that he will soon be hiring. Now, that is a stimulus package, that Canadians have been able to get behind! I want more stimulus that directly impacts Canadians.

This EI BS we are seeing by the opposition parties, it's just political blather trying to get votes. I have been working since I was sixteen, I took time off for university, but worked two jobs every 4 month break to save enough to put myself through without debt. I took 2 months off work for my first child and 9 months off for my second child, that's it.

Maybe the government should start giving tax credits for people who have paid into EI for years without taking anything back, and stop rewarding the deadbeat EI abusers. How's that for a tax credit 92% of employed Canadians could get behind.

Give tax credits for contributing to EI, but not using it! All opposition parties want EI given to people who have worked only 3 months, how about we give a tax credit to all those people who have contributed to EI for years, and seldom made a claim? Is that too radical? Reward the productive.

It Is Surreal, Is He Really The President?

I still can't get used to the fact that Harper, even after 1200 days in office, is our Prime Minister. He has been leading Canada despite the fact that he only has a minority government. Daily, the lefties fight sound legislation like raising the age of consent from 14 to 16. Thankfully that law passed, even my 16 year old knew about it. Many law and order bills are stalled in parliament because the lefties think the criminal is more important than the victim, like Tori. Canadians are watching and Conservatives need to remind voters that it is only the Conservatives who for years have supported tougher laws against criminals.

What is surreal, is that Obama really is the actual President of the USA. Every time I see him, I think "pretender". The guy is a used car salesman,(sorry to all used car salesmen) an empty suit. He is a dangerous empty suit, with an agenda. Socialism.

Fears Grow Over U.S. Losing Triple-A Credit Rating
Some financial experts think ballooning deficits and a surge in spending are putting the U.S. at risk of losing its triple-A credit rating.

On Friday, the dollar dropped to its lowest level this year and was on track for its biggest weekly fall in two months on concerns about the country's rating status, despite an assurance from Moody's on Thursday that it was comfortable with the current rating on the U.S., which has held a triple-A rating since 1917.

To ease concerns, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said he doesn't believe the U.S. credit rating will be cut.

President Obama likes to say he inherited a financial mess, an argument that is supported by the $1.3 trillion deficit left on his lap by the previous administration. But under his watch, Obama has pushed the estimate for this year's deficit to a record $1.8 trillion, partly as a result of his $787 billion stimulus package. The deficit is equal to about 13 percent of the nation's gross domestic product.

They are busy printing money, this will lead to inflation. Our dollar rose to .89 because of the weakness of the US dollar. Obama does not understand or care about the impact this will have on the US. He is too busy partying in the White House, and closing Gitmo to pay back his hard left supporters to care about the damage he is doing to his country.

What a mistake the US made. McCain might not have been the ideal candidate, but he would have been better than Obama.

Our next election, the Obama factor will work in the Conservatives favour, he will be the new Jimmy Carter, and Canadians will have woken up to the fact that socialism is a bad idea.

Short post because I am really, really tired from all the planting I did today. I will just creak my way upstairs to bed now.

Did Philip Fart?

This 85-year-old couple, having been married almost 60 years, die tragically in a car crash. They have been in good health the last ten years, mainly due to the wife's nearly neurotic interest in health food.
When they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter took them to their mansion, which was decked out with a beautiful kitchen and master bath suite, complete with Jacuzzi. As they "oohed and aahed' the old man asked St. Peter how much all this was going to cost.
"It's free," St. Peter replied, "Remember, this is Heaven."
Next they went out back to see the championship golf course the home backed up to. They would have golfing privileges every day, and each week the course changed to a new one representing the great golf courses on Earth.
The old man asked, "What are the green fees?"

"This is Heaven," St. Peter replied. "You play for free."
Next they went to the clubhouse and saw the lavish buffet lunch with the cuisines of the world laid out.

"How much to eat?" asked the old man.
"Don't you understand yet?" St. Peter asked. "This is Heaven. It's free!"
"Well, where are the low-fat and low-cholesterol foods?" the old man asked timidly.
"That's the best part ... you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like and never get fat and you never get sick. This is Heaven."
The old man looked at his wife and said,
"You and your #@!%&~ bran muffins.
I could have been here ten years ago!"

Always keep several get well cards on the mantle....

So if unexpected guests arrive, they will think you've been sick and unable to clean!
That's it. Have a good weekend. Rain, snow or shine, my flowers are getting planted!

Prove To Me You Are Not Stupid.

That was the last sentence from my last post. Unfortunately I got no such proof. What I did get was one of my many trolls, spouting. Normally I let them spout and ignore them, but seeing as it was a slow news day, I thought I would finally respond to one of them. Now I don't want my other trolls to feel left out, it was a totally random, pick a troll event.

Your panties must be pretty knotted given your posts lately. Or could it be those polls?

If you don’t like my posts in support of our Prime Minister, don’t comment on them. They are obviously bugging you, so I guess I am kicking you progressive lefties where it hurts. Polls? How about the 2,300 people who paid $150 in Montreal of all places to hear our Prime Minister speak?

The fact remains the Opposition was demanding action on the economy, while Harper chose to fiddle. Plus the U.S. situation was in transition and needed smarter people than Harper can muster. A rapid change would do this.

Smarter people?? Like Duceppe and Layton and Dion? Oh my God that is just too funny! How about Wayne Easter, now there is one bright bulb! Or iRuby, don’t take your nannies to town? HA!

Any group of MPs can become the government if they can gain the confidence of the House.

Right, and you didn’t vote Liberal even though Dion was a total waste of space? Typical lefty, vote for a party that wants to tax Canadians just because they are Liberal. Nothing Dion proposed was worthy of our votes, nothing. That’s why over a million smart Liberals stayed home and didn’t vote.

Lefties, like you, can't imagine that we, the people, actually elected more Conservatives, you see, you can't understand people who hold opinions different from yours.
Spare me your insulting diatribes that claim anyone who disagrees with you has some mental illness. It's unbecoming, and will be your party's undoing. People are sick and tired of your juvenile name calling in this regard. "Can't imagine"? "Can't understand"? Sheesh. Grow up.

You can come here every day and slag both me, and my posters and I am the one making insulting diatribes? Do you think we actually like you and respect your opinions? Have you gotten the mistaken impression that just because I let you post here, we actually like you? Did I hurt your feelings because as a Conservative, I don’t agree with your comments? Who needs to grow up?

Why did Iggy sign the coalition document?
For the reasons outlined above. Harper was fiddling while Rome burns, so to speak, and time was of the essence given the US transition.

Funny how now, all of a sudden, the lefties love the US, no more stomping on dolls. You hate the fact that while your god Obama is in power the Liberals are on the sidelines. Tough.

Your party wants to radically remake the country, which the people DON'T want. All of your gains were due to various screwups of the Liberals, not due to any agreement with your party's goals. Still, people knew in the back of their minds that you would destroy our country as we know it, and denied you a majority.

The lefty mindset exposed, Conservatives are going to radically remake the country? We only won re-election (1200 days now!) because of Liberal screw ups, like electing Dion? Destroy our country, as we know it? No, you mean change it into something Canadians can be proud of again, it was the Liberals who destroyed our country, especially our military. We are fixing it.

No, after January 20, it didn't matter. Canada had lost the opportunity to be there during the US transition and we are now paying the price. The coalition would not have been maintained for long after that anyway. It was an emergency measure. It would certainly not last until October 19, 2009 which is our next election day.

You poor thing, bowing down to Obama, thinking the US is now going to save us because it’s the Democrats in power, and the Liberals should have been in power to welcome Obama. Do you not understand that the Democrats are protectionist? The coalition would have been laughed at in the US, they would have wiped their feet on Dion. Liberals wanted Dion gone, that’s why they panicked and anointed Iggy. I can see you now, stomping your feet, yelling, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE US IN POWER.

You can rewrite the coalition attempt to grab power all you want LS, but the voters will remember, no matter what unelected leader you might have.
What unelected leader? Do you still not understand how our system works? Your party leader is also unelected in the sense you are implying. Because "Iffy" and "Steve" are both elected Members of Parliament, and are both the leaders of their political parties.

Are you so partisan that you will not admit that the Liberal party did not elect a leader, they had one shoved down their throats? Your leader lost the last Liberal election to Dion, what does that say about Iggy? How can you justify, in a democracy, crowning a leader?

You come to my blog to voice your opinions, and I let you. I am one of the few blogging tories to give you a voice. In turn, you accuse me of stating that you have a mental illness, which I have never done. You bring your lefty buddies here to disrupt and distort any facts with “emotions”, never facts.

I would pit any female Conservative against any of you lefty wimps any day. You are so insecure you need to attack female Conservatives, because you are weak, pathetic excuses for real Canadians, those who had the pioneering spirit, you know those people who build this great country, that you hate and want to tear down.

You are slimy creatures crawling around creating havoc because you do not love anything except yourselves. You can’t handle the truth, so you try to remake the country into something that oozes and festers with it’s lack of morals and it’s progressive swingers clubs, where 14 year old kids would have been legal, if the Conservatives wouldn’t have fought to raise the age of consent to 16. You are the ones who are going to be crying for the killer of little 8 year old Tori, because the killer had a bad life. You make the criminals the victims and spit on the families of actual victims.

You attack religion, you scoff at people who do not believe in evolution, you think abortion is perfectly okay, and that global warming is a settled science. You are not mentally diseased, but in your quest to be progressive, you have lost your morals. May God help you.

Now, post all you want (freedom of Speech), but do not expect us to respect your views.

Remember, this is my house, and I expect you to remove your shoes, because I refuse to have mud tramped through my house. If you can not remove your shoes, go to the next house like Liblogs, I am sure they will welcome you.

Bring It On Obama!

US protectionism will make Canada wake up. After every recession comes change, it just might not be the change Obama was thinking about. Obama wants cap and trade, fine, we will cap it off, and trade it to China and India. How would the US react to loosing 20% of their energy supply?

Eco-nuts and Quebec want our dirty oil banned, let's go for it, let's stop selling our oil and gas to the US, tomorrow. Just for one week. See we care about the polar bears and our millions of miles of trees and our untouched wilderness. Have you noticed that every time oil goes up the TSX also goes up? Funny that.

Save Us Unholy Sinners!

Canadian church leaders head to northern Alberta tomorrow to explore the theological, moral and ethical implications of the oilsands.

The clergy aren't the only people interested in the oilsands this week.

Down in Washington, D.C., one of North America's top energy research consultants will testify before the U.S. Congress on the importance of the oilsands to future energy supply.

Canada now supplies 19% of U.S. energy needs, but if oilsands production is accelerated, that could rise to 37%, according to a new report by IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA).

That in turn would translate into an injection of billions of dollars into the Canadian economy. Alberta isn't the only province that benefits. This massive industrial project creates a national demand for jobs, technology and manufactured goods.

The enormous tax revenue generated by all this activity benefits everyone.

Yikes, they want us to pollute more!! How many smog days has Alberta had? NONE. How many smog days for Toronto only? Too many to count. Last trip across Canada, we stopped at streams to let our dogs drink, until we hit Ontario, no way were we letting our dogs drink out of those brown polluted rivers.

The solution is getting back to nature. This article gives us an idea of how we can start.

Bison turn back the clock on a patch of prairie

CALGARY — In a remote part of the already remote Grasslands National Park in the southwest corner of Saskatchewan, a herd of plains bison is in the midst of calving season with another bumper crop of babies.

Three years ago, 72 pure-blooded animals were introduced to the 181-square-kilometre refuge as part of a Parks Canada initiative to bring large herbivores to an area that hasn't felt bison hooves in more than 120 years.

Now, that little herd has become prolific beyond expectations.

The animals in Grasslands were shipped as two-year-olds from Elk Island National Park near Edmonton, where Mr. Olson was based for 25 years. The youngsters acclimatized in a paddock before stepping beyond the gate where they had to learn how to behave like bison without guidance from adults.

Yahoo, I bet the eco-nuts love this, bison back on the prairies. I actually love it too. The more bison the better. They are actually a really healthy eat. HA!

They should be allowed to free range, like this:

I bet the eco-nuts are ecstatic about this herd of 300 Wood Bison.....NO? Oops, guess they don't want us to know that they are part of an oilsands reclamation project.

It's bad enough that Obama is trying to destroy our economy with "Buy American" protectionism. When Canadians like the Bloc in Quebec want to shut down the oilsands without even seeing them, ignorance is bliss. Quebec, listen to this, Alberta sends 8 billion into the equalization fund, you get 8 billion, do you see any connection? So sure we can shut down, but then you do not get 8 billion. Think about that, let it rattle around in your heads, prove to me you are not stupid.

Quiet Charisma!!

I have noticed that PM Harper is more relaxed now after over 3 years as our Prime Minister. He is really starting to hit his stride. He has gotten into a comfort zone and Canadians are noticing his excellent management of our economy at a very difficult time. Foreign leaders respect him and listen to his opinions. His Ministers are performing their duties with dedication and skill.

We can whine that he is not Conservative enough, that he hasn't moved fast enough on things like the gun registry and the Canadian Wheat Board, but we have to remember that this is a minority government.

Positive news coverage is close to none existent for not just PM Harper but his Ministers are well. So, when I see some positive news, I want to share it.

Stephen Harper, wedding crasher

Bruce Monaghan and Dianne Brister celebrated their wedding at the Glenerin Inn in Mississauga this month with 85 of their closest friends and family, plus one surprise guest: Prime Minister Stephen Harper dropped by with congratulations. Melissa Leong talked to the newlyweds about their wedding crasher:

Q. What was Steve, I mean, Mr. Prime Minister like?
Mr. Monaghan: He was very nice, very casual, very friendly, really laid-back.
Ms. Brister: There were probably about 15 or 20 of us. He went around to each person and shook their hands and asked their names and asked how they were related to us. My nephews who are 4 and 6, he stopped and talked to each of them.
Mr. Monaghan: Pretty nice guy, actually, whether you vote for him or not.

He even signed the guest book! This is the side of Stephen Harper that the media doesn't want people to hear about. I would like to see more pictures of him with his family. Laureen Harper is a gorgeous lady who is smart and independent. Why doesn't some enterprising reporter do an article on her? I would love to see them on the front cover of a magazine, I would even buy it. If CBC and CTV are so worried about ratings, maybe they should get out of their Liberal mindset and actually interview Laureen Harper.

Here is another article that gets to the essence of Stephen Harper, the man.

‘Me and Mr. Harper’

Let me be clear: I am a private citizen who does not belong to any political party nor do I harbour any political aspirations, and as such, I would like to share my personal impressions of our prime minister with my fellow citizens.

I have never worked for or with, Mr. Harper and never had the opportunity of a private meeting. However, I have had the good fortune of meeting him publicly five times, most recently on the day Mr. Turner’s scathing article was printed. I think Canadians now have the right to see him from a totally different perspective.

I first met Prime Minister Harper during the 2007 Chanukah celebration on Parliament Hill. It included a Menorah Lighting ceremony in the historic Railway Room and I had the privilege of introducing, amongst others, the prime minister, who had graciously agreed to participate.

The impression my peers and I had (and let me add that nearly all of us had met prime ministers and presidents before) was of an exceptionally affable, friendly and witty leader who went the extra mile to put his constituents at ease. His tone and demeanor were remarkably respectful and congenial, and all were impressed by his understated quiet charisma.

Quiet charisma, that is it exactly! I couldn't put my finger on how I felt about meeting PM Harper, but that is what I felt as well, a quiet charisma! He is very attractive, those blue eyes are very warm, and he is very easy to talk to, but he has a presence that you can not ignore. Quiet charisma describes it perfectly.

PM Harper is a man who is very comfortable with who he is and where he is going. My hope is that more and more people are seeing that as well. We have a true leader for Canada, who puts Canada first. He has reignited our respect for our military and made them a priority, gone are the years of darkness.

I know Conservatives come in many stripes and colours, but when you look at the man who is our Prime Minister, you should be proud! Quiet charisma, not loud arrogance.

I Am Sick And Tired...

As Conservatives we need to quit fighting the lefties and understand that we are the government. I repeat, we are the government. Granted we only have a minority but we are still the ones in power. Iggy thinks he is the PM, he has put the Conservatives on probation. HA! What an idiot.

PM Harper gets ridiculed because his riding is in Alberta, Iggy gets praised because he was living out of our country for more years then he has been alive, and gets parachuted into a Liberal stronghold. PM Harper has fought for his vision of Canada all his life, Iggy has no vision for Canada, and has only been here for three years. Three years and he thinks he should be the Prime Minister of Canada?? BS.

The MSM is driving the agenda, it is time for us to take back the power. We have the power because we can protest against the media by informing their sponsors that we will be boycotting their businesses. The media is already suffering from a lack of advertising, the last thing they need is a protest against their biased reporting. That is exactly why we need to protest the bias. If the Tamil Tiger supporters can get away with illegal protests, surely we can get away with a perfectly legal boycott of companies who advertise in our biased media.

My recent experience with Shaw has made me understand that, we the consumer have the power.

I am sick and tired of our media constantly slagging our Prime Minister.

I am sick and tired of the media forgetting to cover our Prime Minister when he travels internationally, yet they trumpet Iggy's international experience.

I am sick and tired of the Liberals witch hunt on Mulroney, while they conveniently forget about the 40 million stolen from Canadians that went directly into the Liberal party pocket.

I am sick and tired of the attempt to make Minister Kenney the bad guy in the iRuby scandal. iRuby made her bed, she has to sleep in it, and Iggy might try to distance himself from it, but the stink is going to stick to him.

I am sick and tired of the lefties pretending that the coalition was a great idea. It was about a bunch of socialists thinking they could override the voters of Canada, and they are preparing to do it again. Next election a vote for the Liberals, NDP or Greens will be a vote for a coalition government. The only party standing in the socialists way are the Conservatives.

I am sick and tired of leftists. They want legal marijuana, swingers clubs that 16 year old kids can legally go to, and they want us to pander to terrorist groups like the Tamil Tigers.

I am sick and tired of socialists, they are destroying our country!

Dogs, Man's Best Friend!

I have been stuck inside all day due to rain, snow and negative temperatures, not how I planned to spend Victoria day. Just like the negative temperatures, I am tired of the negative political climate. So, I watched some very inspiring Youtube videos about one of my passions, dogs. Watch and be amazed at how selfless these dogs and people are when it comes to caring about another dog.

Funny how dogs never walk into the vets to get an abortion, how birds spend all spring caring for and feeding their young, but humans are too self absorbed to care about babies being killed. I bet all of you who watched those videos were pulling for the dogs to win, for the injured dog to survive, for a happy ending. Thankfully all those videos did have a happy ending. Too bad 100,000 babies a year in Canada don't get the same compassion and love.

On a lighter note, Rigger needs a bigger pool. I guess I need to go garage sale hunting for a kiddy pool. HA! Who am I kidding, I love garage sales, I don't need an excuse to go to them.

What a fun time we are having with Rigger, he is going to be an awesome assistance dog! It's a full circle, dogs helping dogs, people helping dogs and dogs helping people, no wonder I love dogs!

A Dog Day Of Spring!

I swear if I ever met Gore or Suzuki in person, I would pop them one right on their nose. I am so sick of these fake environmentalists, my teeth are clenched as I type.

I have been nursing my little plants since February (28 trays), it is time for them to be outside but NO they are still indoors staying warm, because it is going to SNOW this week! Here they are waiting to be planted:

The weather didn't stop us from planting our garden, Rigger was not very happy that he was not allowed to help us! Poor boy.

I was really tired yesterday and didn't want to get the garden in, but hubby pushed me to get it done. Thank goodness he did because it rained today and even if it snows, it will just be extra moisture for the garden.

Notice the four rain barrels in the picture, and the two composters, take that Suzuki/Gore, I walk the walk and get no money for doing it. Where are your rain barrels/composters?? Oh, you are only interested in carbon credits in a company you own? Talk about giving real environmentalists a bad name, by his name alone, we can understand Gores nature. Okay the lawn needs work, but notice no dandelions. In a few weeks everything will be fixed, without chemicals!

I want to see Ellie May's garden. She's the leader of the Greens isn't she? So, how green are the Greens? Let's see your gardens, let's see you out there starting community gardens, and leading the way, without government money. HA! Thought so.

Nannygate: Evidence Mounts Against Dhalla

IRuby has been hung out to dry by Iggy and all the other Liberals. She is digging a hole so deep she might get back to India for another episode of, I hope they learned their lesson. At that time she used the; IRuby didn't mean it, IRuby am innocent and the media is misquoting me defense.

Face it, we all knew her first reaction was the true reaction. Because it happened in India, we didn't really care, and it didn't make big waves over here in Canada.

Now, we care. IRuby made a huge mistake testifying just after the very emotional nannies. IRuby came across as arrogant and uncaring, much like her comment, "I hope they learned a lesson", came across in India. IHunter think IRuby is in deep trouble. Watch this quick summary of what has been happening, Global did a good job emphasizing the details.

Watch it here!

IRuby is just one example of Liberal values, you know, those values they always yap about, but can never actually define. It appears she was using the government program to get cheap care for a Mother who didn't even need it. If this was an immigrant scamming the EI or welfare program, they could face deportation, but because this is a MP taking advantage of an immigrant, in my eyes it is even worse. She has no right to use her position as an MP to intimidate an immigrant. That is just so wrong on so many levels it makes me sick.

I understand she is innocent until proven guilty, but if that is the case, then so is Mulroney, and yet the Liberals continue to hound him for their political gain. What about a 20 year old tape of a Conservative who wasn't even an MP at the time? That was harped on endlessly by the MSM and lefties, for political advantage.

Only a lefty would close their eyes to what IRuby and her family did to those poor nannies. The court of public opinion has been used by the Liberals to convict Conservatives without a trial, it's the Liberals turn now. Funny how what goes around, comes back around.

Friday Night Funnies: Golf And Love!

John and Helen met while on vacation, and John fell head over heels in love.
He was convinced that it was true love.
And so....on the last night of his vacation, the two of them
went to dinner and had a serious talk about how the relationship would

It's only fair to warn you, I'm a total golf nut, '
John said to his new found lady friend. 'I eat, sleep and
breathe golf, so if that's going to be a problem, you'd better
say so now!'

Helen took a deep breath and responded: 'Since
we're being honest with each other, here goes ... You need to
know that I'm a hooker' 'I see', John replied.

'That's a problem, for sure.' He spent some time looking
down at the table, deep in thought.
Then he added,

'You know, it's probably because you're not keeping your wrists
straight when you tee off.'
SMILE!!! A bunch of funny animals showing us that they too can smile.
Cutest Ass You Have Ever Seen:

What did you expect?? HA!
The Three bears

A far more accurate account of the events of that fateful morning...

Baby bear goes downstairs, sits
in his small chair at the table.
He looks into his small bowl. It is empty.
'Who's been eating my
porridge?' he squeaks.

Daddy Bear
arrives at the big table and sits in his big chair. He looks into his big bowl
and it is also empty. 'Who's been eating my porridge?!?' he roars.

Mummy Bear
puts her head through the serving hatch from the kitchen and yells, 'For God's
sake, how many times do I have to go through this with you idiots? It was Mummy
who got up first. It was Mummy Bear who woke everyone in the house. It was
Mummy Bear who made the coffee. It was Mummy Bear who unloaded the dishwasher
from last night and put
everything away. It was Mummy Bear who swept the floor
in the kitchen. It was Mummy Bear who went out in the cold early morning air to
fetch The newspaper and croissants. It was Mummy Bear who set the damn table.

'It was Mummy Bear who walked the bloody dog, cleaned the cat's litter tray, gave them their food, and refilled their water.

'And now that you've decided to drag your sorry bear-asses downstairs and grace Mummy Bear with your grumpy presence, listen carefully, because I'm only going to say
this once....

If you see this tomorrow, you might want to go back inside and stay there!

A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, 'Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get

Her boyfriend asks, 'What is it supposed to be when it's finished?'

The blonde says, 'According to the picture on the box, it's a rooster.'

Her boyfriend decides to go over and help with the puzzle.

She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over
the table.

He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to
her and says,

'First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to
assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster.'

He takes her hand and says, 'Second, I want you to relax. Let's have a
nice cup of tea, and then ..' he said with a deep sigh, . .. . .. .

Remember all those times you were dancing and you thought you were Fred Astaire?

I have to thank all my email contributors and regular posters for sending me a huge number of jokes to choose from, you make the Friday Night Funnies rock!

Seeing as EofE started us off earlier today with some funnies, I encourage you all to contribute some jokes of your own in the comments. Remember to keep it clean. You can never have too many laughs.

One final treat, this is long, but it is really amazing.

Fox News, Opt In? Or Opt Out?

So SDA broke the news that Shaw was removing Fox News from it's line up, and you would have to OPT IN to keep the channel.

Shaw Filters Fox For U!

From one of several emails I've received;

I write to draw your attention to a situation I just encountered with Shaw Direct (the satellite TV provider formerly known as Star Choice). Returning from a short business trip my daughter advised me that there was a "message" from Shaw and I could read it on the TV.

The message advised me that in response to complaints (unnumbered and unspecified) about some disparaging comments about Canada's military folks made by a Fox News show personality Shaw had decided that those persons subscribing to Fox News would have until May 18 to affirm their desire to continue their subscription to that Channel or else it
would be shut off.

Seeing as I am a customer, I fired off this comment to AskJim:

I have read that Shaw customers now have the choice to get rid of FoxNews and replace it with something else. I specifically got Star Choice so that I could get FoxNews, so I want to keep it!

But, seeing as you are offering your customers the chance to get rid of a news station and replace it with another channel, I would love to get rid of CBCNews network (390) as it offends me daily, and replace it with Movie Central 1 (621). If Movie Central 1 isn't available as a choice, please send me a list of those channels I can choose from.

I think this is an excellent idea. You are allowing us to actually choose the channels we get instead of forcing us into selected packages. I have counted and there are 17 other CBC channels I would like to get rid of and replace with channels I would like to actually watch, is this possible? Thank you

I got the standard email of acknowledgment back a few minutes later. I checked for a response in the morning, nothing, but when I got home I had received two email.

Email one arrived at 10:08 AM:

Good morning xxxxxx,

Thank you for taking the time to email us at Shaw Direct.

Shaw Direct will not be removing Fox News from its lineup. We are enabling Shaw Direct customers the freedom to make the choice if they would like to receive it. There have been recent inappropriate and disrespectful comments on the channel regarding the Canadian Military’s efforts in Afghanistan, comments that were found to be offensive to our customers. Because of this, many Digital Favourites and FYI subscribers have expressed concern over not having an option to remove FOX News from their line-up. We are moving the channel to an opt-in service starting May 19. If you would like to continue receiving FOX News, we can add it back on to your account at no cost. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We simply took into consideration the feedback of our customers, and created a way to accommodate everyone regarding this matter.

We are not offering for this channel to be swapped at this stage.

with thanks, Ross

The standard boilerplate email everyone was getting. They clearly say it is an OPT IN service.

Email two arrived at 10:09 AM

Hi xxxxxxx

Our customers have asked to remove it only because of the negative comments made about our military. We have just provided them the option to drop it but we will be keeping it on for anyone who wants to keep it

Now this one sounds like people can OPT OUT of Fox News. So which one is it??

Opt-in or Opt-out?

I guess they decided to ignore the fact that I wanted to drop 17 CBC channels. Too bad, I really had my hopes up there! HA!!

If they turn my Fox News channel off even for one hour, I will be switching services.

It Appears They Are Protesting Again, But....

This picture shows a massive protest today on Parliament Hill. Guess those Tamils don't get the message? Think again. This is a protest that the media forgot to cover.

It is the March for Life rally that had 12,000 people show up in support of life. I looked all over the MSM sites to find pictures and a story, but I couldn't find any. I did find a site that had lots of pictures, showing lots of support and some of the MP's that spoke out. Funny how it was only Conservative and Liberal MP's that support life.

Sadly only 18 MP's were brave enough to show their support. I applaud those 18 seeing as this Bloc MP shows you what they have to face in Parliament for their life stance.

She forgets to inform people watching that abortion in Canada is legal up to and including the actual birth. What a selfish little prig she is, it's all about her body and nothing about the baby. Her fellow Bloc MP is no better:

May 14, 2009 ( - Francine Lalonde, the Bloc Québécois Member of Parliament from La Pointe-de-l'Île, on Tuesday introduced a private members bill to legalize euthanasia in Canada.

Bill C-484 would add an exception to the criminal code, ensuring that doctors will not face criminal prosecution if they help a person die who is at least 18 years old and who, after being given or refusing treatment, continues to "experience severe physical or mental pain without any prospect of relief," or suffers from terminal illness.

"The time has come for this Parliament to find a way to decriminalize medical assistance in dying, which is of such vital importance to those whose suffering can no longer be relieved except by this ultimate compassion," said Lalonde in introducing the bill.

Lalonde went on to observe that so far three countries in the E.U., and two U.S. states, have legalized assisted suicide. "Serious research into the application of this legislation and their very specific criteria clearly shows that the greatest fear expressed in this Parliament some years ago, abuses and the hypothetical slippery slope, has not in any way become reality," she said.

Funny, Lalonde has been battling cancer for over two years, so if euthanasia is such a big issue with her, why is she attempting to keep on living? Why is she fighting the very death that she wants for others? Or, is she pushing this because she is personally afraid of the pain of death and is too scared to do anything about it herself. Maybe she is trying to save her family from making that decision, and thinks forcing it on everyone in Canada makes it okay somehow? Could it be that she is Catholic, and knows that the Church says that suicide is a sin, and if someone else decides for her, she would be absolved?

We will have to start calling the Bloc the Culture of Death party, as they support both abortion and euthanasia. Sicko's.

All the death the Bloc supports disgusted me, so I found a wonderful video about babies. It made me remember those 2 o'clock in the morning kicks to my always full bladder. Watch how the baby responds to the Mom's touch. Can anyone watching that video still think that baby should be legally killed? Well it can be, right here in Canada, and we as taxpayers would pay for it too!

Our society is not worth saving when we are willing to kill our most vulnerable, the young, the old, and the sick.

The Nannies Versus I Ruby!

I have been having problems since I got my Mac because my video capture program only works on Windows. I think I have solved the problem tonight, so here is my take on.....

The nannies versus I Ruby!

As a female, I am ashamed of I Ruby. She is blaming everyone except herself. I understand that Liberals think only about themselves, and that is what I Ruby is doing, but she is making it way worse than it should have been. She is not believable and the nannies are, so the hole is just going to get bigger for I Ruby. She has thrown her brother and the nannies under the bus and the Liberals are now trying to make it some sort of Conservative conspiracy?

Get real! There are Liberal fingerprints all over this issue. Just come clean I Ruby, you can not win this fight unless you do. This is not going to disappear. We already understand that Liberals are entitled to their entitlements, so we are not too shocked.

What is bothering me is the way these poor nannies have been treated, not only by the Dhalla family, but by our country. I hope the committee changes how this program works. It has it's good points, and I would have loved to have a Philippine nanny, but I do not understand how the Dhalla's qualified for the program. I Ruby was using her position as an MP to get some "perks" of the job and it backfired.

Own up and move on I Ruby.

UPDATE: Seems like I Ruby is in deeper trouble.

Too Cold To Blog!

I spent the day at track and field and froze my butt off. At noon I finally went home, got the winter coat and boots out and went back with a blanket for my youngest boy, who was wearing shorts. My guy was upset because he would be competing with the grade eight's and thought he would do badly. Turns out he came in fourth in the 800 race, so he was quite happy. Learning about failure is not a bad thing, if you understand it's just a part of life that you can cry about, or defeat.

I have never been so cold for so long as today. Even sitting in front of our fireplace hasn't warmed me up.

I did watch the Ruby Hour, what a disgrace. If you didn't catch it, it was taped and you can see it all here. More on that when my fingers thaw out.

Where is that global warming we are supposed to be scared of? I say bring it on!!

The Door Has Been Opened.

The end of the rule of law. Six brave police officers try to hold back 2000 angry protesters.

The rule of law keeps every person safe because everyone is considered equal by the law. So, why did these protesters get a free ride when they were obviously breaking the laws of our country.

It's sad that the Tamil's break the law to protest the treatment of terrorists who are killing Tamils. They even carry the flag of the terrorists. We are supposed to feel sympathy for them when they bring their young kids to a rally where they are breaking the law.

We have the First Nations blockading Caladonia for three years, now we have the Tamils breaking the law without getting arrested. Reverse racism is ugly and progressives are the first to jump into the pot. Iggy promised the Tamils, what? Talking about it in the closed Liberal caucus meeting? Get real Iggy, who believes you anymore?

The Liberals are vote hunting, they do not care about Tamils, if they did, they would have done something about it in the 13 years they were the government. Iggy is just pandering to the Tamil voters. As a matter of fact, it's funny that a message from the Liberals would end the protest. Prearranged? Preplanned? Who knows, but the media sure isn't talking about a conspiracy between the Liberals and the Tamils.

Ruby baby is trying to change the channel by eluding to a conspiracy against her, now Liberal leader Iffy is supporting an illegal Tamil protest, what a garbage party the Liberals are, they have no morals, and they are never responsible for their own lack of morals!

The door has been opened, who is next?

From Alberta With Love!

I know that Quebec is the Grandpa in confederation, and Alberta is the young pup, but Grandpa is dying and the pup is full of energy.

The Bloc have a bigoted view of Alberta, listen to them in question period, they certainly appear to hate us, or our oil. I can not ever remember Duceppe visiting Alberta, he doesn't need to because they have no MP's from here. What an easy job, campaign on taxpayers money only in Quebec.

Why are Conservative numbers dropping in Quebec, after all the pandering and giving megabucks to Quebec, they are upset because of less than 2 million dollars cut from ARTS? Not true, they just needed a reason to elect separatists who do nothing but collect big bucks and pensions. They are hypocrites, they elect the block because it makes them special.

Well, enough is enough, Quebec is no more special than PEI, or BC. I want Duceppe to get his arrogant butt out to Alberta and find out that we are people too, and we do not have knuckle dragging arms or horns.

I am sick and tired of question period being 70% French and 30% English. I could care less what Liberal MP can speak French, I want to hear real questions, and real answers.

Quebec can stand on it's own two feet, they do not need the 8 billion from the rest of Canada. PM Harper and the Conservatives should stop giving special attention to Quebec, they will never be happy. They might even respect you if you smack them down and tell them to grow up.

This comes from Alberta with love, because it's time for Quebec to get it's head straight or leave.

A Day For Mothers!

Mother's Day is a very special day because some women actually WANT to become Moms. It is the most rewarding experience any women can ever experience. Not to ignore men, but Moms are special. We form a connection with our baby very early, even before the foot in the stomach in the middle of the night. I knew I was pregnant before the doctor told me, I felt a special presence living within my body, it is an amazing feeling. So to all Moms out there, enjoy your special day.

To the Moms on their special day who have lost their child in Afghanistan, my heart bleeds for you, I can not imagine the pain of losing your child. Be assured that we are remembering, and we are praying that your grief will be lighter because of the support of our nation, Canada.

To my wonderful boys, I love you with all my heart, you are my soul.

(You will be required to help me plant the veggie garden tomorrow no matter how much I love you!)

Friday Funnies: Saving the Antelope!

It's that time again, when you sit back, relax and hopefully have a few chuckles.

One in a million picture.

A man was sunbathing naked at the beach.

For the sake of civility, and to
keep it from getting sunburned, he had a hat over his
private parts.

A woman walks past and says, snickering, "If you were
a gentleman you'd lift your hat."

He raised an eyebrow and replied, "If you weren't
so ugly, it would lift itself."
Saving the antelope:

A strawberry blonde was weed-eating her yard and accidentally cut off the tail of her cat which was hiding in the grass.

She rushed her cat, along with the tail, over to WAL-MART!

WALMART is the largest re-tailer in the world!!!
Golfing parrot:

There is a new study about women and how they feel about their asses; the results were pretty interesting:

30% of women think their ass is too fat...

10% of women think their ass is too skinny...

The remaining 60% say they don't care, they love him, he's a good man and they wouldn't trade him for the world.

This is India . It is where

you call when you have a

technical problem with

your computer.

Grandma found my vibrator!

Mindless game for those of you who are stuck in your basements this weekend:

Bubble Master!

Have a great weekend! I will be planting over 400 plants, so I hope the weather holds up.

Supporting Out Troops!

They didn't want to, but with Iggy in hiding and Ruby in trouble, they actually had to cover the PM because he was non-controversial, and supporting our troops is always a good thing.

Watch PM Harper's speech and then make sure you watch the Liberal ex-military expert, Drapeau, funny how they call him Trudeau.

So, CTV thinks Drapeau means Trudeau, I remember Trudeau killing our military. I remember rows and rows of tanks parked on the military base, sitting and rusting while our military was called every name you can imagine. I remember a girl in grade five being shunned because her Dad was in the military, and townies didn't mix with army brats. Thank goodness the families banded together and welcomed them into our community. She is now a Doctor helping people in disadvantaged countries. What snobs we were. Townies thought they were better than our troops. We were (and I suspect still are) snobs. Trudeau made us embarrassed to support our troops, Liberals looked down their noses at the very people who keep our country safe.

Funny how Ruby has disappeared from the main news page, as has Iggy. Here is a snapshot of CTV news on line.

Quiet, apparently nothing is happening in the Liberal party, we are being told by the MSM to ignore anything bad about Liberals, the most disgusting example is an article by Don Martin in the National Post.

Smell all you want Don, but my smell test detects a pig at the Liberal trough.

Our troops deserve respect, and they are smart enough to realize that PM Harper is the real deal, he has made the military a priority, and when you drive around your town, pay attention to all the cars with "support our troops" decals on their bumpers. It's fashionable now to show your support for our troops.

Great job PM Harper, our troops need support, and they can smell out phony people in an instant. While Iggy is hiding, our PM is meeting with the EU to get a trade agreement and supporting our troops, not because it is fashionable, but because he truly believes our troops are heroes.

Let Freedom Ring!

“When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!" Martin Luther King Jr.

Wonderful words that the world has failed to listen to. We can not look back, only forward, and make sure that we do not make the same mistakes our forefathers made, but remember the times they lived in, and realize the times before us and our children are different. The times are different, but life lessons can not be ignored. We shudder now at the thought of slaves, and how they were treated as sub-human beings, and we think we are better than that, because we have fallen into the progressive trap. Progressives are all about freedom for those who think like them, dare to disagree, and you get swarmed by the progressives from hell. They have no morals and hate those who do.

They think swinger's clubs, abortion and marijuana are what freedom is all about. They want us all to think the same way, and get ticked off when we refuse to agree with their way of life. We become targets because they are loud and obnoxious and they lie. They lie about global warming, while they fly to Bali in polar bear suits, so they can be seen to do something. They do nothing. They plant no trees. Yet they are powerful because they prey on our guilt.

Not happening here, I am way greener than Suzuki could ever hope to be, but I am not tooting my own horn like he does, and I am not lying to gain money from people. That is what disgusts me, they take money from the most vulnerable, and line their own pockets. Gore went from 2 million to 100 million, something stinks to high heaven.

What started this rant? Ruby Dhalla. She gave up her shadow minister position today. Who cares, it was a shadow position, it wasn't real. No biggy off her nose. What we need to concentrate on is that she allegedly kept slaves, and thought is was her right to do so. Let the courts decide, but it doesn't look good for Dhalla.

In The Wild West.....

they would have just pulled those teeth, without any pain killers. Pass me the whiskey!

I didn't blog yesterday because I was on an adventure! I flew from Edmonton to Vancouver to Kelowna, for $99 round trip,(not including taxes). Tuesday I spent all morning in the dentists chair getting 7 teeth temporarily capped and one filled. I spend the afternoon trying to talk and get the feeling back into my nose! My sister took me to lunch, HA!!! even with a straw I couldn't drink without drooling down my shirt. This is one adventure I do not want to repeat!! Now when I tell my boys to brush their teeth, they do it!

I must admit even my temporary teeth look great, now that the freezing is gone and I can actually lift my lips enough to see them without drooling. Did I mention that dentists aren't on my top ten list?

Anyways, BC weather is even worse than Alberta weather, in the 2 hours I was in Vancouver it went from cold, to cold and rainy, to five minutes of sun, and then back to rain. I flew Air Canada, and the flights both to and from Edmonton to Vancouver were less than half full, I had three seats all to myself both times! No wonder Air Canada is losing money, the ticket prices paid, would not have even come close to covering the fuel, and personnel needed for the flight. Three flight attendants to hand out one pack of peanut free treats and a drink, just seems to be a huge waste.

I get to repeat the process in two weeks to get my permanent caps, lucky me!

In the wild west, I would have been a toothless old hag with my well worn gums chew with, so maybe technology isn't so bad. Now I am off to check on the latest scandals to see if I missed anything juicy.

Newman Versus Duffy!

It appears Newman is retiring from CBC. Bet he couldn't resist that healthy buyout package and hefty taxpayer pension. Can't say I blame him, I probably would have cut and run too. What is interesting is the reaction to his retiring as opposed to Mike Duffy's retirement from CTV. Sure, Duffy retired to become a Senator, and Newman is only retiring without any prospect of becoming a Senator, but it's interesting to see how the lefties perceive both retirements.

Duffy retires and becomes a Senator:

Elaine Paliwoda from Canada writes: I am sickened.

Mike Duffy should not have been on the air, pedalling partisan Conservative half truths, pushing character assassination of Mr. Dion, pushing Harper's talking points and misinforming Canadians. Mr. Duffy has been brutally undemocratic and unfair to Canadians, for his own self-interest.

Such partisan assassination such as that attempted by Mr. Duffy should not have been tolerated from people like him, who falsely claim they are a "news source". It's a very sad day for Canada when so-called "news" people who do not properly report truthful information, are in turn rewarded with a lifetime supply of dough, as though pre-arranged. And since everyone has been predicting this on blogs for years, it's pretty clear the fix was in, by Harper & Conservative TV (CTV) against Canadian's trust.

The demagogue has rewarded his jester with a lifetime of jewels. Some do it for 72 virgins, some accept their sheiks' oil money. In Harper-Canada, he sticks it to the taxpayer to make his propaganda artists comfy for life.

Newman retires:

Jean-Pierre Arenes from St-Mathias, Canada writes: Thank-you Don and good Luck.
You have provided me and countless of CBC viewers an unbiased insight in Canadian politics. Quite an accomplishment !

.... Herm Acat from Gravenhurst, Ont., Canada writes: I'll be sorry to see Don retire. He had the useful journalistic ability to come across as a nice guy while asking politicians relevant, tough questions, without seeming antagonistic.

Thankfully, Don's not following Mike Duffy's sleazy exit into the cushy Senate trough. (Did anyone else notice the softball nature of Duffy's questions to Tories prior to his being named to the Senate, a position he'd been actively lobbying for?)

.... Ronnieblue Acacia from Edmonton, Canada writes: What can I say that other commentators haven't already said. I often come home during the noon hour when Don hosted the program during Question Period. He asked tough questions and very insightful on what he was talking about. He didn't let his guests off easily and always ensured they stay on topic to the questions he was asking. He will be truly missed, and along with the recent retirement of Henry Champ, leaves a gaping hole in the political scene.

Unlike the pompous Mike Duffy, who was full of himself and much more style than substance ( and now we have to put up with him in the Senate), I wish Mr. Newman the very best in his retirement and whatever projects he may wish to take on next.

I suspect that the lefties don't even see their bias. They think Newman good, Duffy bad. Since Duffy has been gone, I have watched Power Play once or twice, it is a poor imitation of Mike Duffy Live, and now Politics will lose Newman, both shows will continue to tank no matter who hosts. Why? They look at 37% Conservative voters and 63% lefty voters and think they will win by slagging Conservatives. Not so.

Most voters are middle of the road voters, not Conservative or Liberal, they are not the ones watching these political shows, so they will make their minds up at election time.

What even my Liberal voting parents have noticed is that the media is biased, and they don't like it, they prefer to make up their own minds about who to vote for, not be told who they should vote for.
