Let's Get Real Here.

We know the NDP and Bloq have made some agreement to take down the Conservative government. It appears they are using the weak link Dion to bring the Liberals into the mix. If I was a Liberal I would be outraged that the socialists and separatists kept their agreement secret. Who has the "hidden" agenda now?

The Liberals have been played by the two weakest parties in parliament, they knew Dion was a ready made patsy, and they have played the Liberals like a sour sounding violin. The socialists and separatists are like wolves in the wild, they sense the weakest member and attack.

The Conservatives need to get back to their membership.

- eliminate taxpayer funded party funding.
- no bail outs for inefficient industries.
- lower taxes.
- get rid of the human rights commissions.
- stop trying to appease the opposition, they will never be happy.
- stick to your principles, people are wanting direction.
- understand that Quebec will never be happy no matter how much you give them.

Conservatives won a larger minority not because they bowed down to the socialists, but because they refused to cater to special interest groups. They lost Quebec not because they didn't do enough for them, but because they did too much, no one likes a suck up. Ignore Quebec, they might respect you more for it.

Conservatives need to get real, and stop being scared to fight for what they think is right. Lefties, with the help of the MSM have defined Canada for too long, it's time we took back our country and gave the coalition the big boot in the butt.

As a Canadian, an Albertan and an Edmontonian, I care about my country, and this idea of a coalition makes me steaming mad, they are erasing my vote because they don't like it.

I have never seen such an atmosphere of hate as I see from the Liberals/Ndp/Bloq, this is not just about different ideals, it's about out and out rage against Conservatives, when Scott Reid talks about killing our PM it becomes a very serious matter. He might not do it himself, but he has definitely given someone the idea.

I will fight against this unholy trinity because my kids need a stable country to grow up in, and I hope there are some liberals who understand that Canada is being held hostage by separatists and socialists, if you join with them, you care not for Canada.

The West Is Ticked!

Boy did Roy Green from AM770 CHQR do a number on all three of these guys (okay Libby is a gal). Here is a commercial free edition for your pleasure. Make sure you listen to the last two segments, the listeners give some very good commentary. Thanks to frmgrl for the link, it starts at 12:00 and goes until 2:00, well worth the listen. Libby Davies gets smacked down good.

After listening to it, my feeling is: The west is ticked, really, really ticked!

We have also been hearing endlessly about how the Conservatives only got 38% of the vote and therefore 62% did not vote for them, this apparently justifies a coalition government. Not so fast there buddies, let's have some fun with numbers. I remember taking a course in university where we were shown how to lie with statistics, the opposition seems to have taken that course as well.

So, looking at the results, the Conservatives clearly were the winners. Now for the fun with math!

This comment was posted on the CTV site:

Paul B.
Seems a lot of people on here have limited math skills. Yes, if you add up how many votes Libs-Dippers-Greens-Bloc received, it is more than the Conservative's.

Now this is where your math is flawed. Conservative's ran 308 candidates. The wanna-be coalition ran more than 970, so, ya, sure they would receive more votes.

Funny no one used the same argument when the Canadian Alliance and Progressive Coservative's ran in the same elections, getting a combined vote of more than the Liberal's.

So, what we have failed to do, is take into account that the opposition are adding up the popular vote numbers and forgetting to divide by 3 or 4. Remember that only one party can win a seat, so popular vote doesn't mean dick if you don't win! For example, let's look at Ontario's numbers:

The Conservatives got 2,019362 votes, the lib/grn/NDP got 3,091044 combined, so if we divide their vote by 3 we get 1,030,348 for their coalition. Now, that's fun with the numbers! Face it, popular vote means nothing if all parties are running candidates.

How did it work out for Green May? The Liberals did not run a candidate, so according to their logic, she should have won because all Liberal voters would then vote for the coalition candidate, right??? Wrong.

Peter MacKay won with 18,239 votes, May came in second with 12,620, and that is without a Liberal candidate running. In order for May to have won, the NDP would have had to axe their candidate, and even then only if all NDP votes went to May, would she have won.

In order for a coalition government to have any chance, they have to run only one candidate in each riding, potentially eliminating the NDP, Green and Bloq candidate so a Liberal could win. Are the other parties willing to disappear so that the Liberals can get back to the trough? I don't think so, but it would be funny to see the fight over who runs a candidate where.

If this coalition of the hopeless wants to win, they better not ignore the west, and I don't just mean holding a convention in Vancouver. Now, won't that be funny, are the NDP, Greens, and Bloq now invited to vote for the new Liberal leader? That would really show the GG that they truly are a coalition!

What Gives You The Right....

To decide that the elected governing party is wrong, and you are right?

To decide that Canadians didn’t really mean to elect the Conservatives again?

To tell us that we would be happier with a coalition government because only 38% voted for Conservatives, therefore 62% want your coalition government, when no one gave you enough votes to run the country?

To give separatists a bigger roll in government, when they want to break Canada up?

To subvert a duly elected government of Canada because you don’t like the fact that you lost?

To destabilize our stock market and economy because your feelings are hurt?

To feed at the public trough, without any accountability?

To make my vote and millions of other votes worthless.

To think taxpayers owe you money because you deserve their support?

To try to rule when we told you, we rejected you, and your parties?

To arrogantly assume we really wanted you to run Canada, and just somehow didn’t vote for you?

To assume we are all as unhappy with PM Harper as you are, because you are blinded by your hate?

To impose your “values” on me even though I have different values?

To impose a PM of your choice, not the people’s choice, on us?

To destabilize my country at a time of economic turmoil?

To ignore the voters in the west, and directly cause the rise of separatism in the west?

What gives you the right to think that you know best, and that we voters are ignorant, uninformed peons that need you to guide us out of the darkness. What if we think lefties are the darkness and have no morals, no plan, and no scruples? What if we think that you are the disease that needs to be erased, eradicated, and excised from our sight? How dare you try to think for me!

What gives you the right to force a coalition government on a freedom loving Canada. Who gives you any rights? The voters. In your rush of hate, you have forgotten the voters, and their desire to climb out of the dungeon of socialism into the light of conservatism.

You forgot the most important element of democracy in your rush to fulfill your own desires, you forgot the average Canadian voter. You forgot decency, desire and one little detail, what the average voter wants.

In your arrogance to push forward your agenda, you forgot that the voters want the Conservative agenda. Beware the rise of the silent majority, beware the rise of the west.

Friday Funnies: Lighten Up Everyone!

Yes, I understand that parliament is not working right now, big shocker! HA! Relax, it's Friday and some funnies are warranted!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sharing of marriage

The old man placed order for one hamburger, French fries and a drink.
He unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half, placing
one half in front of his wife.
He then carefully counted out the French fries, dividing them into two
piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife.

He took a sip of the drink, his wife took a sip and then set the cup
down between them . As he began to eat his few bites of hamburger, the
people around them were looking over and whispering.
Obviously they were thinking, 'That poor old couple - all they can
afford is one meal for the two of them.'
As the man began to eat his fries a young man came to the table and
politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple. The old man
said, they were just fine - they were used to sharing everything.

People closer to the table noticed the little old lady hadn't eaten a
bite. She sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking
turns sipping the drink.

Again, the young man came over and begged them to let him buy another
meal for them. This time the old woman said 'No, thank you, we are used
to sharing everything.'

Finally, as the old man finished and was wiping his face neatly with the
napkin, the young man again came over to the little old lady who had
yet to eat a single bite of food and asked 'What is it you are waiting
for?'

She answered……

THE TEETH.

Turning Their Backs On Canada!

That's what all opposition parties are doing. They are putting their own parties before real Canadians, before Canada. During question period, they were all more interested in the funding cuts to their parties than the help offered to retired seniors. Watch the video and pick your PM.

Every single opposition leader was opposed to funding cuts to their parties, even BEFORE the economic update had been presented, how disgusting is that? I'm sure Green May was up in the rafters shouting down at the Conservatives as well, thank goodness, we didn't have to hear that noise. So what are the options?

1. Economic update passes.
2. Economic update fails and we go to an election.
3. Economic update fails and the opposition forms a coalition government.

The question is, which one of these options would Canadians accept? The opposition better get past their partisan thinking and look further than the noses on their faces or the taxpayers money in their pockets.

Personally, I think there will be 12 opposition members mysteriously missing for the vote. Hope the opposition count right, because if one Conservative member is not there, they might trigger options 2 or 3 without realizing it.

Looking at the three options, I'm okay with any one of them, but I do hate campaigning in the cold! I'm sort of secretly pulling for option 3, just for laughs, but then I would be just as bad as the opposition, who are turning their backs on Canada for political gain.

It's A Drop In The Bucket!

It was only $1.75, then, as tends to happen with subsidies, it increased to $1.95. What's the problem here, it's only $1.95 per voter per year? I mean really, it's not like that stupid 2% cut in GST that only means 2 cents less for a cup of coffee. Really, it's peanuts folks, or so the opposition will shortly tell us. The Conservatives should be going after the really big money black holes, like the gun registry, the Canadian Wheat Board, and CBC. Spending billions of our tax dollars to support dying industries, like auto and forestry is surely a much better way to kick start the economy, the media thinks.

Okay, why keep the funding? The Bloq needs the money to promote their party, so they can separate! This is an honourable goal! The Greens need the money to save our environment and the odd polar bear. This is an honourable goal! The NDP wants a chicken in every pot, and a place at the table to help eat it. This is an honourable goal. The Liberals need the money to save the natural ruling party of Canada. This is an honourable goal. So many honourable goals, so little time to convince Canadians that we were wrong to re-elect the Conservatives.

The big, bad, Conservatives have no honourable goals, and this is of course, scary! So say the opposition, while screaming for their taxpayer money instead of going out to their supporters and earning it!

I've posted about this before, way back in March of 2007! I suggested then that it would be a good way to force an election:

I'm getting sick of this lack of cooperation, and I think a lot of other people are as well, so the question is, how do the Conservatives get the opposition to vote down a confidence bill? Here's the answer.

The government puts forward a confidence vote on a bill that would cancel the $1.75 per vote of taxpayers money every political party now gets.

Only the Conservatives are in a position to win on this bill, all other parties are too broke to be able to vote with the government on a bill like that, so the opposition brings down the government on a bill that saves taxpayers millions.

Things have changed, the other parties are still broke, but will they dare vote against this now, just after an election, and while the economy is reeling? Could this be Dion's second chance? HA! Can the opposition scream about reducing government spending then vote this down, causing another 300 million election? The Bloq and Liberals HAVE to vote against this, only the NDP can vote for it, the question is, are they smart enough to take the gift the Conservatives are offering them?

How will voters see this if we end up in another election? Opposition MP's voted down a confidence bill that would have cut their salaries and their continued slurping at the taxpayers trough. Will the left unite, and try to form the government? I dare them to try subverting democracy like that, it would be like a military takeover, without the guns.

It's a beautiful piece of work by the Conservatives, baby steps indeed! Checkmate.

QP: Opposition 0, Conservatives 1.

According to the news articles, you would think the opposition were smacking down the Conservative government. First Dion, then Duceppe, and finally a back bencher strikes the fatal blow!

On Tuesday, Flaherty was on the defensive, telling his fellow MPs that the Conservatives made prudent financial moves in recent years that left Canada in a better position than many of its peers.

Telling his fellow MP's??? Hello, that should be telling all MP's and Canadians what is going on.

Then we get the useless Bloq:

Flaherty quoted Rae as saying that it was "not a reasonable position or an intelligent position to take" that the prime minister was personally to blame for any recent deficit that may have occurred at the federal level.

A few minutes later, Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe returned to the issue of the prime minister not predicting the economic crisis.

"The prime minister said during the election that there would not be a recession, but today he admits that there will be a recession -- and that the recession is right at our door," Duceppe said in French.

Followed by this:

Things also got a little heated during an exchange between the finance minister and Liberal backbencher Yasmin Ratansi, who asked Flaherty about the way he would use "non-core federal assets" to help raise funds for the government.

This made me search for the "heated" debate:

Is the media making things up, or just stretching the truth? Both I think, facts are irrelevant because they know the average Canadian is not watching QP.

Finally The Right Minister At Heritage!

I found that I had to come back to the exchange between Minister James Moore and Bloq MP Lavallee, because so far the feminists have been running the Heritage show, and having a female Minister hasn't stopped them from making ridiculous allegations. Finally, I think they have met their match!

These feminists are arrogant women who think that just because they are female they are the only ones who have the right to decide anything about "arts and culture". The only reason the Bloq didn't get decimated was because of supposed arts cuts. Moore clues them in and watching the tape you can see that Lavallee is steamed. HA!

Keep up the good work James!

The Press As PM Harper Sees Them.

We all know that PM Harper has problems with the Ottawa press gallery. All we hear are questions being asked and we never see the faces behind the questions. For some reason, the camera crew kept on jumping between PM Harper and the press. Look closely at them while they ask their questions, and when they are caught off guard by the camera. I don't know who was covering this event, but that cameraman should get a raise.

PM Harper faces these people everyday. What struck me is that only one reporter asked an intelligent question, the others were parrots, talking, but having no real understanding of what they were saying.

PM Harper is in his element with questions on the economy, he appears to be having great fun answering the questions. The problem is that the journalists have no clue what he is talking about, watch their eyes, they are glazed over from lack of understanding, some even appear to be hostile. A journalist degree does not an economist make, but journalists think they can make or break a PM.

Such power in petty little people's hands is dangerous to democracy.

My Son Became A Man Last Night.....

And my only regret is that I wasn't there to see it!

Wait, read on before you start sending me comments about 15 being too young to have sex, and how parents should talk to their kids about being responsible. Remember, this is a big step in any child's life. He moved out of childhood and into that scary adult world of responsibility and understanding the importance of self reliance. I would have loved to have been there to see the huge grin on his face, and the realization that he was slowly becoming an adult.

He was at a birthday party when it happened, three 15 year old boys at West Edmonton Mall, going on rides in Galaxyland, checking out the girls and elbowing each other in the ribs when they saw a really cute girl. You know, doing what any 15 year old too shy to actually approach a girl and talk to her might do.

Then it happened! The birthday boy's father took them into a place that normally only adults go. Into an adventure that turned them from boys, into men! This was not laser tag, or paint ball, this was real target practice with real guns.

A Glock is what I hear!

After his first 32 shots ever with a real gun, this is what he did to his target:

You see, it's important for our kids to understand that not all guns are the fake ones on computer games. That dying on a computer game only means that you can't play for a minute, it's not real. It's important for them to understand where fake meets real. Today my son understands that a lot better because he held and fired a real gun. He still hasn't stopped grinning.

No zombies were actually killed in this exercise, but a boy took his first step towards becoming a man, and it had nothing to do with sex!

Friday Funnies: Printers and Cats!

Smart A$$ Women

Ray & Bubba ( West Virginny engineers)

were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.

A woman walked by and asked what they were doing.

'We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole,' said Bubba,

'but we don't have a ladder.'

The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts,

and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her

pocket, took a measurement, announced, 'Eighteen feet, six inches,'

and walked away.

Ray shook his head and laughed. 'Ain't that just like a woman!

We ask for the height and she gives us the length!'
