Friendship! It Matters.

So Canada has been asked to help by America. Finally we can, mainly because the US allowed us to jump the lineup and get our C-17's early.

Canadian Forces plane arrives in New Orleans

OTTAWA -- A large Canadian Forces aircraft touched down in New Orleans on Sunday evening, prepared to evacuate "medically vulnerable" individuals from the region threatened by hurricane Gustav.

Way to go Canada, we can show our respect for the American people by providing help when they need it most. The Americans are always the first to arrive with aid to countries hit by natural disasters, now we can do our part.

I am sick of the anti-American idiots here in Canada. They would prefer to sit back and do nothing, all the while yapping about how "those Americans" brought it on themselves. These are sick individuals who care nothing about anyone but themselves.

MacKay said Canada's aid efforts come at "minimal cost." They were prompted both by a specific request for the plane from the U.S. NorthCom commander and also by a bilateral agreement signed February 2007 to support each other in times of need, he said.

"This is a purely humanitarian relief effort, in keeping with the best traditions of our country and I would call it a pre-emptive effort at relief and assistance," MacKay said.

The minister added Canada is ready to provide further assistance if necessary, potentially including more aircraft, HMCS St. John -- already stationed in the region -- or the DART team of engineers, who could provide construction capabilities or water purification.

Canada is back! We have a chance to show our humanitarian side. Let's see what the lefties think about that, nothing good I'm sure. If you can stand it, go and see the disgusting comments at the Globe and Mail about more American troops being deployed to Kandahar to help our troops. I will not link to it, because it just makes the Globe think they are popular.

I still remember the Lebanese complaining about the boats that rescued them, and then six months later they had all left, on our dime. Watch for the lefties to start yapping about the cost of the flights to help disabled Americans. It strikes me that lefties have no souls, that's why they are so negative. Or maybe they are just self involved, heartless and immature.

Good luck my American friends, be safe.

Sarah Baracuda!

I have been watching the American election, but have been totally uninspired. I liked McCain, but now it's a whole new feeling. His pick of Sarah Palin as VP to run with him has raised my level of interest. Here's a Youtube video of her. Enjoy.

This should now be a much more interesting race. Will America pick substance over hollywood glitter?

To my American friends, stay safe, vote smart! McCain/Palin 08!

The Carefree Days Of Childhood!

I clearly remember Saturdays, getting my chores done quickly so I could go outside to play. Those hot days beside the pond, catching tadpoles, slapping at mosquitoes, and lying back and dreaming about what my life would be like in 5 or 10 years. Who would I meet and marry. I always imagined a guy with a caring heart (he would love me more than life, sigh!) beautiful dark hair, and laughing eyes (I found him after much looking!). The thrill of living my life the way I wanted, taking control, going to university, it was all before me, more spectacular than the northern lights I watched in wonder at night. Just a typical girl growing up in Canada. Now...

Put yourself in a whole different country. You are still that same young girl, with the same dreams, all you want is to try and live those dreams. All you want is to choose the man you marry. Simple in our world.

Don't just read this article and think how horrible, put yourself in the place of one of these women. Live their last moments with them.

Suddenly, six men grab you, and throw you and some other women into a car. They start driving, you are scared, you know no one is going to help you, not in this country, no police are going to stop these men from doing what they think is their right, you are lost. All you wanted to do is choose who you married, that's it. You weren't caught with a lover, you never even left the house without a male relative escorting you, you did everything right.

The car stops, and they drag you out into the dark. Smack! Oh God, that hurt, my lip is bleeding, and I feel the sharp edge of a tooth that has been broken. Duck!!! To late. Is my arm broken? I can feel the pain radiating up my arm, it's making it hard to breathe. Don't cry. Won't somebody help me? Where are my brothers, my protectors, my father?

Is that a gun? Why are they shooting everyone? Oh my God, my gut hurts, BAD! I just wanted to choose my husband, that's all, I've been a good girl...is that dirt? I'm being covered up, I'm being buried...NO!!! I'M STILL ALIVE!!! I'm still here, I'm a person with feelings just like everyone else. I promise to be good, I promise.

It's so quiet now, no more screaming. I see a star, way up there in the sky, blinking away, I'm so very cold, and it hurts so much. I can't breathe, I can't move, I just wanted to choose....

H/T to this post, it got me thinking about my life compared to these 5 women.

PM Harper Has Them Chasing Their Tails!

Well according to Duceppe and Layton, it's a go. Funny how they wanted an election, and now they don't. Where's Dion? Hiding under the bed again? HA!

Here's my take on what's going on. Agree or disagree.

The opposition has been calling for an election for months. Dion especially has been talking about Canadians wanting to go to the polls. Of course this has been all bluster and no substance, or Dion would have voted against the budget, not sat on his hands for 44 votes. Layton and Duceppe have been forcing Dion to prop up the government because they know he isn't ready to fight an election. It hasn't been the Conservatives putting Dion in this position, it's been his buddies Layton and Duceppe. Now the bluff has been called.

The Conservatives are gently getting Canadians ready for an election call, and the opposition are falling right into line. They are now up in arms because PM Harper is supposedly breaking his own law, that they all supported. They are shouting it from the roof tops, and Liberal lawyers are actually threatening to take the Conservatives to court about it. Remember, an election hasn't been called yet.

But, everyone is now thinking election. Let's blame the Prime Minister, call him a bully, complain about the money it will cost for an election, pull out all the arguments about why all of a sudden, Canadians don't want an election, tell us how Parliament is now working fine, it's not dysfunctional. HA!

PM Harper sure has them chasing their tails, the MSM included!

If an election is coming, the opposition/MSM have used up all their ammo. The Conservatives might take a small hit in the current polls for calling an election before the recommended date, but, by the time the election is called, people will be more interested in the policies presented, not who called it or why.

Start by talking about a dysfunctional Parliament, then ask to meet with the opposition leaders, have them talk about PM Harper being set on calling an election, have Dion look disrespectful for not meeting with the PM, and then convince us, if an election is coming, why waste the money on the by-elections, let's just go to the polls NOW!

Funny how the polls have changed from 80% not wanting an election, to a 50/50 split.

From CTV:

Slowly, we are being softened up for an election, by the time it actually gets called, people will shrug, and say that they knew it was coming, and it's about time!

Friday Funnies: Gymnastics?

They Walk Among Us and Many Work Retail

I was at the checkout of a K-Mart. The clerk rang up $46.64 charge. I Gave

her a fifty dollar bill. She gave me back $46.64. I gave the money back to her

and told her that she had made a mistake in MY favor.
She became indignant and informed me she was Educated and knew what

she was doing, and returned the money again. I gave her the Money back

...same scenario! I departed the store with the $46.64.

They Walk Among Us and Many Work Retail

I walked into a Starbucks with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a Grande

Latte. I handed it to the girl and she looked over at a little chalkboard that

said 'buy one-get one free.' 'They're already buy-one-get-one-free,' she said,

'so I guess they're both free'. She handed me my free Lattes and I walked out the door.

Refugee Fairy ..............

A beautiful fairy appeared one day to a destitute refugee claimant outside
the Toronto immigration offices.

'My good man,' the fairy said, 'I've been told to grant you three wishes,
since you just arrived in Canada with your wife and
three children.'

The man told the fairy. 'Well, where I come from we don't have good teeth,
so I want new teeth, maybe a lot of gold in
them.'

The fairy looked at the man's almost toothless grin and

PING!

he had a brand new shining set of gold teeth in his mouth!

'What else?' asked the fairy, 'two more to go.'

The refugee claimant now got bolder. 'I need a big house with a three car
garage in Oakville with eight bedrooms for my family
and the rest of my refugee relatives who still live in my country. I want
to bring them all over here.'

PING

In the distance there could be seen a beautiful mansion with a three car
garage, a long driveway, a walkout patio with a BBQ in
an upscale neighbourhood.

'One more wish', said the fairy, waving her wand. 'Yes, one more wish. I
want to be like a Canadian. With Canadian
clothes instead of manjams, and a baseball cap instead of this turban. I
want to have white skin like Canadians.'

PING!

The man was transformed, wearing worn out jeans, a Blue Jays T-shirt and a
Maple Leaf baseball cap. He had his bad teeth
back and the mansion had disappeared from the horizon.

'What happened to my new teeth?' he wailed. 'Where is my new house?' The
fairy said 'Tough luck, Jack. Now that
you are a Canadian, you have to fend for yourself.' And she disappeared!

Flooding in Ireland!

If this doesn't tug at
your heart strings nothing will.

We've all seen the
faces of those ravaged by the floods of Sri Lanka , New
Orleans and now in Ireland.

This 'award-winning'
photograph of the recent flood waters rising in Ireland
captures the horror and suffering there.

The heart and
resiliency of the Irish people really shows
through.

That is a dog, not a panda!

The fawn followed the dog home through the doggie door, right into the house and up onto the bed!

Have a great long weekend everyone!

Brilliant, Just Brilliant!

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! That's this female's take on McCain's choice for Vice President. I've been watching the news as much as I could today. The strategy by the Republicans was flawless.

First, was it only last night Obama gave his flat and uninspiring speech? Who remembers? You see, the news I saw first this morning, was that Governor Palin from Alaska might be McCain's choice. Obama's speech got left on the cutting room floor, no-one was even talking about it this morning, score one for the McCain campaign, they changed the channel.

Second, every media outlet was scrambling to find out who Governor Palin was and racing to be the first with any information. Obama's speech? Old news already.

Third, I finally had a chance to see parts of Governor Palin's speech, thanks mainly to Blogging Tories. I like her. As a female, I probably look at different things than males do, in fact seeing some of the male responses on comment boards, I know I was looking at her differently. HA!

Fourth, the Obama camp has already come out slamming her as the mayor of a small town, with no experience. This makes them look elitist and out of touch with the grass roots. Last time I was in the US, it seemed like there were lots of small towns, with lots of small town mayors. This will hurt Obama, badly with voters.

Fifth, feminists are already screaming blue "murder" (yes, I know, bad taste, but the truth) because Governor Palin is for life, not the death of babies. They are taking choice to such an extreme that they support Obama on leaving live aborted babies to die. Believe me, any normal Mother feels love for that baby months before the baby is born. Being pro-life and religious in the US is much more acceptable than it is in leftist Canada. Watch for the special interest groups to go crazy. I just saw an interview between a deather and a pro-lifer, the deather was unsmiling and condescending, the pro-lifer was all smiles. So the pro-life religious groups are now the Republicans to lose.

Finally, Obama is phony as a three dollar bill, McCain is a real living American hero. He now has a dynamic energizer Lady to help him. She is the real deal, not like Hillary. Sarah is a tough minded frontier type woman, Hillary is just tough looking! I don't blame her, she has to put up with Bill's skirt chasing.

As a Conservative woman, I can get behind McCain/Palin because I like them both. They are not elitist, Liberal, latte sipping, immoral, soft, pansies.

Thank goodness, Sarah wasn't wearing a pantsuit! (They make woman's hips look way bigger!) Conservative woman will only support a woman as tough minded and independent as they are themselves. Sarah reminds me of Kate at SDA's. What a wonderful looking family Sarah has, twenty years married (to the same guy) and five children. She didn't take the easy route and abort their down syndrome child, something I deeply respect. As a "older" Mom, the doctors wanted me to take the tests to determine if my babies would be physically impaired, I refused. I told them that I would never abort and trusted in God to help me through whatever he was willing to send me. He sent me two perfect little boys, and I thank him every day for allowing me to care for them.

So, as a female, I like McCain's pick for Vice President. Go energizer Lady!

(Repeat because Blogging Tories didn't pick my first post up, nor yesterday's post)

My Husband Calls BS!

I'm the political one, but tonight my husband actually watched Obama speak. He calls BS. This is a guy who will tell a woman he has just met, that her perfume is too strong, or that her lipstick is the wrong colour. He is usually right. I think he is right this time. I won't tell you what he thought of Michelle Obama, this is a family site.

My view, the speech was typical Obama, lots of preachy platitudes, no substance. It was too long, and flat. A chicken in every pot, and look at me, the poor boy who suffered. Sorry not buying it. He reminds me of a cousin I have. My parents gave him a camera for his birthday, he said thanks, and forget to ever open up the card which contained a cheque that he never cashed, because he was too self involved to even bother to read the card. The camera was just a small token, the cheque was the big prize, and he totally missed the prize.

I hope McCain surprises some small town by appearing there and accepting his nomination. Obama is spending millions for his speeches in stadiums, yet he attacks McCain for having too many houses. Typical Liberal, they don't even see their own hypocrisy. Fireworks? Are you kidding me???

I agree with my hubby, BS. This guy is a used car salesman.

The Silent Majority!

It's not the politically active the Conservatives are going after, it's the silent majority. You see, the politically active have already picked their sides, they will not change their positions, but those silent Canadians, those Mom's and Dad's that toil away everyday, so they can give their kids a better chance in life, those are the Canadians the Conservatives are hoping to attract. The family people. The Tim Horton's crowd. The average Canadian not the elitist. Will they do it? I think so, here's one example of why I think they will get the silent majority on their side.

Today at lunch with some office mates, someone piped up and asked, "Will there be an election?" I think the guy was baiting the one outspoken Liberal in the crowd, knowing it would revoke a reaction. It did.

The guy went into a rant about the Conservatives having no agenda, how all the scandals lately were bad for the Conservatives and that they had nothing to offer. All your typical Liberal talking points, offered to us peons. You need to understand that this individual is the most arrogant person on staff. He runs to the president so often that he has been banned from the open office hours. He's a pest. He thinks his view is correct, all other views are wrong. In other words, he's an a$$. How did people react to his rant? Smiles and winks all around, which he didn't see because he was too busy raving about everything wrong with the Conservatives.

You need to remember that this is Alberta, and we give our few Liberals a chance to spew because the poor things have no chance of getting a federal Liberal elected here.

Eight of us sat down to lunch, only one ranted about the bad Conservatives, seven of us were silent. That's a silent majority. Believe it or not, Liberals are arrogant even here in Alberta, where they have no chance of winning.

The silent majority, sits back and quietly laughs at the arrogant Liberals who lecture us, and then we go vote Conservative just to tick them off even more.

I know It's Not Friday But.....

Seeing as the Democratic convention is on right now, here are two jokes for your consumption.

The Democrats have suddenly developed a keen sense of morality. John Edwards has been banned from making a speech at the Democratic convention for having an affair and lying about it.

In his place Bill Clinton will be speaking.

Funny how Liberals think Clinton was a good president even though he left in disgrace. Has he been visiting Canada lately to see a certain Liberal MP, or has he been put on a short rope by Hillary?

Now this next one is funny, because of the elements of truth it contains.

The Liberal Government Will Bring Down...

Yes, you read it correctly, the Liberal government will.... brought to you by CTV and Craig Oliver. The Liberals are still living in Liberal lala land. They truly believe that the Conservatives only won because of Adscam. They seriously think that most Canadians are socialists. They remind me of those elites that ignore the common poor in Canada to sell coal to China.

CTV and Craig Oliver are all over the Conservatives for calling Dion's bluff/s. Bad Conservatives, good Liberals. Watch this little gem, it gives us a good idea of how the media operates, and how biased they really are.

Craig Oliver makes 3 mistakes. First he talks about the Conservatives losing 3 by-elections. Hold it! Don't the Liberals presently hold those 3 seats? Wasn't it Liberals who retired prematurely? Premature election??? HA! So, it's the Liberals who stand to lose, not the Conservatives.

Second, he spouts about the Liberal government taking down the....oh wait....the Liberal Party....dang Oliver, you are way past your "best by date".

Then he returns to his rant about Conservatives losing 4 by-elections. Hello Oliver, they lose nothing as none of the seats are presently Conservative, but don't let the facts get in the way of a good Liberal rant. CTV looks like fools over those three blunders by Oliver. CTV is also revealing that it's no better than CBC with rants like those that Oliver goes on. CTV has often been worse than CBC, remind me to point out their bias when I see it. Better yet, please point out their bias when you see it. With an election coming, all ammo is needed.

Biased media??? Oliver still thinks the Liberals are the government, what does that tell you??

Don't They Understand....

Nothing will change the rabid Liberal supporters? The Globe and Mail is one disgusting paper, and the people who comment there are so rabid that even Old Yeller looks sane.

OTTAWA — Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion refuses to be rushed into a crucial meeting with Stephen Harper that will determine whether the country is plunged into an election within the next two weeks.

But the Prime Minister may yet decide to pull the plug on his minority Conservative government as early as Sept. 2 without waiting for the tête-à-tête with Mr. Dion.

“[Mr. Dion] is essentially refusing to meet and, not only refusing to meet, refusing to speak by phone,” Kory Teneycke, Harper's communication director, said Monday.

“This is a sign that he's, for all intents and purposes, broken off communication with the prime minister.”

So, Dion is a coward. He blabs about an election, then when challenged, he goes into hiding. What a weenie. Do the Liberal supporters see it that way? Nope.

Alan Pater from Vancouver, Canada writes: Another alternative to electing another dysfunctional government is for the current opposition to get together and form a coalition government. Then elections can take place as scheduled in a year.

This is my favorite delusion, the lefties can run the government! HA! Go for it, way to tick off all voters.

jack sprat from Canada writes: Ummmmm, isn't the election date already set? Why the fuss?

Steve was adamant that this date was fixed in stone and gave all kinds of reasons, and niced quotes as to why he would never cause an election himself.

So with an election date set, why should Dion meet with him, and why only on Harper's schedule. Steve is ujnavailable all this week as he splurges on another trip to the one seat Arctic.

Dion is right, whats the rush? Schedule a mutually agreeable date in the next couple of weeks as schedules allow.

This silliness by Harpo has to go, he shows no leadership at all.

Then you get the ones that are clearly scared out of their minds that the Liberals might have to actually go to an election. Too funny!

Ed Long from Canada writes: Mssrs. Dion and Layton and Duceppe are under no requirement, constitutionally or ethically, to meet with the PM prior to the beginning of Parliament.

And their agreement to do so simply makes them pawns in PM Harper's immature, duplicitous and irresponsible attempt to deflect attention from his own inability to lead.

Here is another example of delusional thinking, those lefties are funny. They claim to take the high road, and then slither in the mud.

The Globe and Mail has become Canada's National Enquirer, sleazy reporting, rabid comments, and reporters married to Liberal communications directors. They have two or three articles a day about the Conservative government, none of them positive, ever. Can they afford to lose 36% of their readers?

Just to remind you of how dysfunctional this Parliament has become, let me re-run this example of how Liberals have been voting lately:

Liberals are dysfunctional, and loving it!

It Seems Somehow Incestuous!

The Globe and Mail has been leading the charge with negative articles about PM Harper and the government. Their comment section reminds me of Babble, if you disagree with the lefty opinion, they try to erase your comments and if that fails, they call you names like neo-con, Bush-lite, red neck, Nazis, etc. Really vile stuff. How the Globe and Mail allows the nasty level of some posters is beyond me, or maybe not.

We all know that CBC is a Liberal organization, and most self respecting Canadians don't watch, listen or read their garbage. Who can we turn to, CTV? Well this is where the incestuous relationship comes into play. First pay attention to the definition of incestuous, especially #3.

in·ces·tu·ous (n-ssch-s)
adj.

1. Of, involving, or suggestive of incest.
2. Having committed incest.
3. Improperly intimate or interconnected: "Press-politics relations are notoriously incestuous" Boston Globe.

Improperly intimate or interconnected. So, who is the Globe and Mail connected to? Glad you asked.

The Globe and Mail

Here's the interesting bit:

Shareholders of CTVglobemedia
The Woodbridge Company, 40% • Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, 25% • Torstar Corporation, 20% • BCE Inc., 15%

Let's look at the shareholders:

The Woodbridge Company Limited is a Canadian private holding company and the principal and controlling shareholder (53 percent) of Thomson Reuters. Thomson Reuters was formed in 2008 when The Thomson Corporation, a world leader in providing integrated information solutions, acquired Reuters.

Woodbridge is the primary investment vehicle for members of the family of the late Roy Thomson, the first Lord Thomson of Fleet.

Woodbridge also owns the largest (40 percent) interest in CTVglobemedia, a Canadian multimedia company with ownership of CTV and The Globe and Mail. CTV owns and operates 27 conventional stations, with interests in 35 specialty channels, including TSN. CTVglobemedia also owns the CHUM Radio Division, which operates 35 radio stations throughout Canada. Other CTVglobemedia investments include an interest in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which owns the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and the Air Canada Centre.

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, (25%) soon to own all of BCE, Bell Canada, giving them 40% ownership of CTVglobal.

Torstar, (20%) yes, that's the Toronto Star!!!!

BCE, Bell Canada Enterprises, (15%) soon to be owned by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.

Do you see the interconnection? The Globe and Mail is part of CTV, which is part of BCE, which is part of the Toronto Star, which is owned by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, or soon to be! Incestuous? According to the definition, yes it is!

No wonder people do not believe what they read anymore. Wasn't the Ontario Teachers' Union responsible for helping McGuinty win a majority again?

Next time you read the Globe and Mail or Toronto Star or any article from Reuters, watch CTV, or think about getting Bell Canada services, think hard about who you are supporting with your money.

Reuters, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, CTV, Bell, only one missing is the ever elusive Canadian Press. And you thought the CBC was biased? Think again! Russia has more independent news agencies than Canada does. Scary!

Animals Care More Than Some Moms

This would be funny if it wasn't such a sad representation of how some people lack compassion for babies. My Thursday post was about a mom who drowned her 4 month old baby and got off scott free. If it was a litter of puppies drowned, the uproar would have been thunderous. Here's another story about a mom who left her baby to die.

Abandoned Baby Kept Alive, Safe by Mother Dog and Her Brood

A newborn baby that was abandoned outdoors by her 14-year-old mother during the Argentina winter was found safe Thursday after being kept alive and warm by a mother dog and her brood of puppies, Reuters reported.

Farmer Fabio Anze found the naked baby near the city of La Plata, Argentina, lying amongst his dog China’s puppies. The baby was taken to the hospital after Anze called the authorities.

Hospital officials said the baby was only a few hours old when she was found, and was in good health despite several bruises.

Temperatures at night around La Plata, 40 miles south of Buenos Aires, this time of year are cold, but not freezing.

Police have located the 14-year-old mother. It is not known whether she left her baby in the dog's pen or whether the dog found the baby outdoors and carried it in to join her puppies, Reuters reported.

I can feel some sympathy because the mother was only 14, but it's sad that a mother dog cares more about a baby then the real human mother. A sad statement on our society and the eroding of families and family values.

Feminists will tell you that the baby should have been aborted, end of problem. When even a dog understands the meaning of life better than those so called women, you have to understand how low our society has sunk.

Friday Funnies: So Many Good Jokes To Choose From...

Retired People

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days
interesting.
Well, for example, the other day Gladys and I went into town and went into a
shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there
was a cop writing out a parking ticket.
We went up to him and said, "Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen
a break?"
He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi turd.
He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires.
So Marilyn called him a shithead. He finished the second ticket and put it
on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket.
This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets
he wrote.
Personally, we didn't care. We came into town by bus.
We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's
important at our age.

Of course, we need the cute animal antics, and this one is worth watching, twin mouse and Mom, playing in a sprinkler!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have just come back from the bar, and you want to know what your brain age is, this one is worth trying, it would be interesting to see if your results are different in the morning, after all the beer has worn off! HA!

You need to be quick, after the 321, the numbers will flash up quickly, then you need to click on the boxes in order from lowest number to highest number. Good Luck!

And finally, the ultimate, 50's music combined with animal pictures!

Only You, by the Platters!

Happy Friday, guess it's Saturday for some of you. Enjoy, life is too short to be serious all the time!

Poor, Poor, Women!

Drown your baby, admit to it, and get let off because you were disturbed. This article makes me sick!

No jail for B.C. mom who drowned baby

SURREY, B.C. -- A mother who pleaded guilty to drowning her baby boy six years ago won't serve jail time.

Jaswinder Kang was handed a two-years-less-a-day conditional sentence and three years probation in Surrey provincial court Thursday.

I guess women now have the right to kill their kids and then claim being "disturbed". If this was a father who had drowned his child, you can bet money that he would be serving time. Why the double standard?

The four-month-old died weeks later at B.C. Children's Hospital in Vancouver.

Kang originally told police the baby was snatched away by a panhandler, and police launched an exhaustive investigation trying to find out how he wound up dead in the pool.

Throw your 4 month old baby into the pool and then lie your head off. If that doesn't work....

Defence attorney Russ Chamberlain said the accused herself still doesn't know how "joy turned into such disaster." Chamberlain cited a psychological report that said she was "disturbed and depressed" at the time.

The judge also quoted from the report during sentencing, noting it said Kang had "not fully recovered from the effects of giving birth to her child."

Why didn't this disturbed woman go ask for help from the SOWS (Status of Women)?

Women want to be considered equal until it comes to killing their child, then they pull the "disturbed and distressed" and "postpartum" scam. Fine, maybe she was disturbed, distressed and suffering from whatever, that does not mean she should get off scott free! Anyone who murders someone, is disturbed, distressed and suffering from something. No normal person kills someone, especially a baby. That does not excuse them from what they have done.

Feminists yap about my body, my choice, well sorry girls, we aren't equal because of sorry excuses like this woman, using the fact that she is a female to get out of any punishment for killing her own baby. Lord help us if she gets pregnant again!

You want to be equal, work for it! I am sick and tired of women playing the "poor me" game when it suits them, especially during a divorce. I am sick of the courts in general, but especially when it comes to woman criminals, and that's what this woman is, a killer, she even admitted it.

Victory For Victims?

You know how pedophiles are not allowed in the general prison population because the prisoners will deal with them in a very harsh manner? Well, it seems gangs are doing what our courts are unwilling to do, take the bad guys off the street.

No tears for dead man

Edmonton's latest homicide victim had been twice accused of committing murder in the past five years.

Terence Dashielle Miller, 26, died in a hail of bullets early Sunday.

So, let's look at how the courts handled this thug:

FROM ACCUSED TO VICTIM

- May 2003: Terence Miller and Marlon Williams are charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Ikeche Bates, 21.

- May 2004: Crown accepts Williams's not-guilty plea to second-degree murder. Williams pleads guilty to possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace.

He is sentenced to two months of probation and 100 hours of community service.

- September 2004: Charges are stayed against Miller.

- July 2005: Miller is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Brandon Fern.

- September 2005: Miller's second-degree murder charge is stayed.

- July 2008: Williams and another man, Scott Ladouceur, are shot by unknown assailants near 167 Avenue and 18 Street.

Ladouceur dies. Williams is sent to hospital in critical condition.

- August 2008: Miller dies in a hail of bullets in central Edmonton.

Is it any wonder that Canadians have no faith in our courts and our judges? Two months probabtion and 100 hours of community service? For murder? Get real! Looks like the gangs are doing the work of our courts. What about the victims families?

"It slightly feels like relief to know the two people (accused of murdering) my brother are not on the streets," Jackson said. "I don't have to worry about bumping into them."

Still, she'd rather the men faced judicial justice than street justice.

They did face judicial justice, and were let back into the streets. Do I feel any sympathy for these thugs, not much, but I wonder what their fates would have been if they had to spend time on a work gang instead of a drug gang? We have store owners in Toronto hiring their own security guards, and we have street justice for gang members.

When are the victims going to be made a priority? When are criminals going to face real justice from our courts? When are our police going to be used for stopping real crime and not just traffic offenders? Crime is down? Sure, and I still believe in the tooth fairy!

Justice, Gangland Style!

You know how pedophiles are not allowed in the general prison population because the prisoners will deal with them in a very harsh manner? Well, it seems gangs are doing what our courts are unwilling to do, take the bad guys off the street.

Dirty Oil and Clean Money?

So Hebron is a go, good for Newfoundland! Funny how the media is fawning all over Danny Boy, and the 20 Billion this will bring into Newfoundland. What does Alberta get? Calls of DIRTY oil and dead ducks. One mutant fish is reason enough for the oil sands to be shut down. Do these media types have any idea of how big the oil sands are and how much money is being generated from development? Maybe they should take a tour of the oil sands like these two individuals.

Buffet and Gates tour Alberta oilsands

CALGARY -- Two of the world's richest people, Microsoft Corp. founder Bill Gates and his friend, American investment magnate Warren Buffett, quietly flew into northeastern Alberta on Monday, where they took in the oilsands, apparently with awe.

So two of the richest men in the world think the oil sands might be a good place to invest? Nothing on CTV news about this.

One source said Mr. Gates and Mr. Buffett, who in recent months said he favours investing in the Canadian oilsands because it offers a secure supply of oil for the United States, visited the booming hub to satisfy "their own curiosity" but also "with investment in mind."

As of 2006, Mr. Buffett was an investor in American oil giant ConocoPhillips, which owns sizable oilsands assets in a partnership with Canada's largest oil company by market value, EnCana Corp.

Can't wait for my EnCana shares to split!

There is presently $125 billion worth of new construction being planned, which when combined with operating expenses add up to a whopping $215 billion over the next five years.

This is NEW construction, kind of makes Newfoundlands 20 Billion look small. But trumpets are blaring for Danny Boy because he doesn't like PM Harper. You can bet if both Warren and Bill visited Toronto's Bay Street, the media would be slobbering all over themselves to get the story on the airwaves. Alberta oil sands, not so much.

Personally, I think they would be smart to invest in the oil sands because no matter how much the econuts protest, the demand for oil is not going away anytime soon.

So, welcome to the big times Newfoundland, it looks good on you! Just don't you all leave Alberta, we need you here!

Illegal Drugs Good, Smoking Bad!

The Insite discussion continues, with lefties yelling, if only one life is saved, it's a good program. Maybe they should use the same argument about abortion. So, let's save junkies, but kill babies. Typical lefty logic.

On a less dramatic note, let's compare how lefties want to treat illegal drug users and how they want to treat legal cigarette smokers.

Mr. Clement said Vancouver's controversial safe-injection facility, Insite, has created a "slippery slope."

"Already there are advocates saying that injection sites are not enough, that government should hand out heroin for free," Mr. Clement said in a speech to the annual meeting of the Canadian Medical Association in Montreal.

"Others are now calling for inhalation rooms for people who smoke their drugs. While I support various aspects of harm reduction, I believe that we have to draw the line somewhere with regard to these kinds of measures.

Smokers have been kicked out into the streets, but lefties want inhalation rooms for people who smoke their drugs? Is this for real? Am I the only one who sees that free heroin as a risk and not a solution? Inhalation rooms for illegal drug users, while smokers are stuck out in the cold?

I smoke, and I drink. I like to do both at the same time, but new regulations make that impossible, except at home. Now, lefties want special rooms for druggies but don't you dare try to open a bar that allows smoking, no, no, no! Bad smokers, good druggies.

We don't usually go to bars, but we did while we were on holidays. I went outside for a smoke and the 15 meters away from any door rule meant I'm standing in a dark alley, by myself, in the dark. Not very safe for a woman. Will one rape equal one druggie being saved? Or are druggies in more need of protection than women?

POINT: The lefties want to ban legal smoking everywhere, but allow special inhalation rooms for illegal drugs. So why can't smokers have special inhalation rooms too? Typical lefty lack of logic. Kill babies, ban smokers, but allow illegal drugs and injection sites. Disgusting.

The East Rocks!

I mean Atlantic Canada, or PEI more specifically. Despite two weeks of rain, we managed to get to all the tourist spots on the island and loved every minute of it. The crowning moment was catching the biggest cod on the deep sea fishing boat!

My husband had to reel that big baby in because I'm left handed and the reel was set for a righty, it was still my cod, and he was delicious! On the lobster, we went to the New Glasgow dinner, paid $160 for 4 lobsters, big rip off, we went to a wharf a few days later and got 4 lobsters for $50, brought them back to the cabin, had new potatoes and yellow beans, and it was a much better meal.

Now, the island politics as I read it. We went to a pub and a Liberal MP just happened to be there schmoozing with the clientele and enjoying a fewwwww drinks. He was a total Ahole and from what I could make out, he didn't much like Alberta MP's. If any Conservative MP had been caught in his state, CBC and CTV would be yelling blue murder. On the island, the party doesn't seem to matter, just how many relatives you have to vote for you. Even Islander's think 4 MP's is 3 too many!

Talking to the family, they thought 3 out of the 4 Liberal MP's were totally useless, and the 4th has resigned. I predict PEI will go Conservative if the Conservatives pick well known representatives.

The Dion Green Shaft came up in conversation, and all I can say is that the Islander's hate it. We saw stacks of wood beside every house that had a fireplace. (Isn't that environmentally unfriendly?) Every retired person on a fixed income is already suffering from high heating oil prices, so the Liberals can't count on their votes. They protected the auto industry with no gas price increases (right) but want to charge people more for their heat? Good strategy, NOT!

Taxes, we were shocked by the PST. Coming from Alberta and only paying the 5% GST, to pay the GST and 10.5% PST made us sick. Worse, the PST was calculated after the 5% GST, so you were paying tax on tax. Now I understand what harmonizing the taxes means, and every province who hasn't done it, should.

The pace in PEI is slower, the scenery is wonderful, but me and my prairie boys were just happy to get home to the black dirt and wheat fields.

If we would have hit the jackpot on my birthday, the 8/8/8, I would have bought this Church for the $60,000 they wanted and turned it into a dine and dance place called "Soul Food". Oh well, guess God has other ideas for me.

He's talking to me right now, a wonderful thunder storm after a hot day to cool off the place! I love thunderstorms!!! Yuck, work tomorrow.

There Is No Place Like Home!

Thought you got rid of me, but we arrived back home tonight. Two weeks without once being near a computer! Holidays are nice, but there is no place like home! Just a quick post because it's 1:00 PEI time, and I can't wait to sleep in my own bed.

Tomorrow I will post some pictures. What a beautiful island PEI is, and the people are wonderful too. The pace is much slower on the island than in Edmonton, and LOBSTER...yummmm! That's one m for every lobster I ate, and wait until you see the cod I caught, yes, we ate it too, no catch and release for that baby.

My biggest observation, nobody has a fence in PEI. Not cottages, not farms, not one fence did I see in Charlottetown, not one. I found this a good indication of the openness of the people. I worried about dogs on the loose, and getting run over, but it was the skunks that were the aroma of the highways.

More tomorrow about lobster, meeting a Liberal MP, and island politics as I saw it. It's just nice to be home.

Look Out PEI, Here We Come!

Two weeks of bliss at a cabin on the Island! Real LOBSTER! Deep sea fishing, family picnics, the Anne of Green Gables play, golf, golf and even the Gold Cup and Saucer Parade! Can't wait!

We leave tonight at midnight (red eye into Toronto), get into Moncton at noon, cross the Confederation bridge, and presto, my husband regains his PEI accent, happens every time we go there. Dragging 4 sets of golf clubs with us is a bit of a hassle, we need to rent that big SUV to get from golf course to golf course, but it's worth it.

Beaches, long empty stretches of beach, searching for sea glass especially the blue pieces, and did I mention LOBSTER? For my birthday, on 08/08/08 (wonder if that's extra lucky?) my husband's Mom joins us for the best lobster supper on PEI, The World Famous New Glasglow Lobster Supper, we are only about 5 minutes away, so I expect we might go there more than once.

Then, for the first time in over 20 years all 7 brothers and sisters will be on the Island, so a big family picnic is planned. I'm going to stuff myself on the best potatoes in the world, PEI potatoes and fresh fish, like LOBSTER! Wonder if I can pack farm fresh PEI potatoes in my luggage? Don't laugh, I've already sent all my spices ahead with one of my husband's brothers!

As you can tell, we are pretty excited, I love PEI! Did I mention LOBSTER? HA!

We will come home, broke, 10 pounds heavier, but happy!

So, seeing as the cabin doesn't have the internet, I will sign off for 2 weeks, and come back with my adventures on PEI.

Oh....did I mention LOBSTER?
