When Will The Polls Move?

It has been steady as she goes for weeks in the polls. Now that the debates are over, we should start to see a shift. Voters are beginning to make up their minds. Will it be a stable majority government or a coalition?

Talking to two co-workers after the English debate, both of them Liberal voters, and both of them thought Ignatieff sucked, big time. They didn't even want to talk about it they were so disappointed in his performance. They might not even bother to vote.

Conservatives were sure PM Harper had won the debate, no matter what the biased media told us, and it appears that even voters of other stripes agree.

Of course, that high number will probably drop and the media will use that as a hammer to show that support is dropping. Whatever. What it shows is that PM Harper is heads above the opposition, and even if his numbers drop, he is still seen as the best option for Canadians as the Prime Minister.

What I did notice about the latest poll numbers is that Atlantic Canada seems to be coming on line.

No one is mentioning Atlantic Canada, everyone is concentrating on Quebec and Ontario, but Atlantic Canada can set the tone, they can get the majority rolling. Newfoundland and Labrador can give us 2 or 3 seats, if not more. They should be really concerned about a coalition that gives the Bloc the power to stop their Churchill project. PEI alone can give us 3 seats. Combined, those are half the seats we need. Atlantic Canada can be the majority makers! By the up swing in the Conservative numbers, I wonder if Atlantic Canada hasn't started the majority trend that could sweep Canada.

In Quebec we will hold what we have and maybe gain a few seats. Think about this, if Quebec in 2006, had not elected 10 Conservatives, Martin would have been much closer to getting a minority. Ontario is doing it's usual waffling but I hope they will come through for us.

The Prairie provinces are solid Conservative, that's why everyone is flying over us instead of stopping by for coffee. Come on Iggy, we only have a few questions about your cap and trade plan. Don't be scared, we are probably the most relaxed and non-confrontational of all the provinces. BC is it's usual schizophrenic self, but there are solid pockets of support that will help hold everything we have, and help us win riding's like retired Keith Martin's.

As for our biased media, you will not dictate to us who we vote for, you do not have the power to do that, as no one is reading your papers anymore, and no one is watching CBC or CTV. We will tell American Soros to get lost. I find it really rich that Liberals talk about Harper/Bush when Iggy is the one who spent his time in America talking like an American and actually supported some of Bush's wars!

Some dimwit on CTV called the ethnic "costume" item a SCANDAL!!!!!!!! Wow I'm shocked too! NOT. Then 7 lefties come out to protest, and it's headline banner news? Give me a break, or better yet, give me SUN news! As a Canadian born woman, I actually think it would be awesome to not only wear your ethnic clothing, but bring your ethnic food too! Perogies! YUM! The media is giving the Conservatives a majority by being so biased that even my Liberal parents have mentioned it.

Canadians are making up their minds right now, and the choice is clear, majority or coalition. PM Harper has been mentioning it since the start of the election, and it is sitting in the back of people's minds, fermenting. Only lefties think a coalition when the economy is fragile is a good thing, but then they really don't like Canada anyways. This last stretch is going to be the most important, and the toughest. Here is a pick me up:

Who Can Form a Secure Majority?

Look at the map and you decide! If you squint your eyes you can see the red in the west. Expect the Territories to go blue, and Newfoundland, maybe PEI. BC is ripe for more blue as is Ontario and Manitoba. I suspect even Quebec is going to get into the game.

The momentum is building, a Big Blue Wave is about to swamp many areas of Canada.

Backed Into A Corner, In A Round Room!

The opposition have to force an election now. They have backed themselves into a corner, in a round room! They think they have the Conservatives on the run, but the Conservatives are sitting back and watching the opposition chase their tails around the "we will not support the budget" tree. The Conservatives will get butter while the opposition parties are going to be sucking on lemons.

The opposition started playing the budget game early. The Liberals were first out of the post saying they would not support it, trying to force the NDP into supporting it. Then the Bloc came out with ridiculous demands to get their support, it's called blackmail in other countries. Then the NDP, nipping at the Liberal heels, stated they wouldn't support it unless their demands were met. The opposition are so busy chasing each other around the "budget" tree, that they are stuck running around chasing their tails and have forgotten about what Canadians might want. Eventually their momentum is going to carry them into the wall, and we will have the opposition sitting stunned and dazed, wondering where they are and how they got there.

Meanwhile, the Conservatives go on governing, calmly, quietly and competently. That is what the voters see, not the opposition hamsters running in the wheel. Personally, I have lost all respect I had for Milliken, glad he is retiring, too bad he couldn't retire with class instead of making partisan rulings meant to hurt the Conservatives. What those rulings did was allow the opposition to play their partisan committee games, where they have the majority and can show all Canadians what a coalition government would look like. Not very impressive when all they want to do is smear the Conservative government.

Opposition should hold the government's feet to the fire, but that's not what they are doing. They are looking for some scandal (one every week) to bring this government down and the MSM is intent on helping them. They are looking like crybabies and fools. Keep it up, it's working in the Conservatives favour.

Forcing an election is the only way the opposition get out of that round room, even though they know when they open that door, they are stepping out into the air, and they have no parachutes to save them.

About Those Polls.

It makes me laugh that no matter how hard the lefty media shrills for the Liberals, they continue on a downward trend, both of them. No matter how many hands Ignatieff shakes or how many times he misses Parliament to travel Canada, the Canadian people are not buying it. I am sure that the Ekos and IPSOS surveys represent an accurate picture AT THIS POINT in time.

The ads have helped frame Ignatieff as just visiting, and in it for himself. Even my Liberal parents think that way. The threat of an election when Canadians don't want one is probably the main reason for the uptick in the Conservative numbers.

Working into Canadians consciousness is that sneaking suspicion that a coalition would happen after the next election if the Conservatives only win a minority again. People might not list that as the number one reason for supporting the Conservatives, but it is percolating just on the outer rim of people's minds.

The Bloc DEMANDING more money for Quebec, is so arrogant and distasteful to the ROC that PM Harper has to come out strongly stating that Quebec should not get more money than the 8.6 BILLION they already get from the ROC. If all cultures are equal according to our Charter of Rights, then Quebec is equal to Saskatchewan and Newfoundland, not better. Interesting thing from the surveys is that the Conservatives now poll higher than the Liberals in Quebec after saying NO to the arena. That should be a big hint to the Conservatives. Stand your ground and do not pander to Quebec, they will not respect you for it.

Also interesting is that women are giving the Conservatives the nod. I guess not all women are lefty feminists. Can we expect an election in the spring? I'm still not sure, as the polls could shift again. I don't really want one, but I'm ready to door knock when it becomes necessary. Edmonton NDP MP Linda Duncan is going down, no matter how many NDP university students she recruits!!

Prepare For Liberal Heads To Explode

If Fantino wins on Monday. Travers is already pretty much conceding the race to the Conservatives.  Where he goes wrong is talking about a winter election. First he says that the Liberals are going to defeat the government:

What I get from the article is that Liberals are scared and don't know what to do about getting their support back, even with the MSM shrilling for them. The Conservatives won't rush into an election, why should they? The opposition is abysmal, Iggy is unelectable, and the Senate is ours. Besides that, people are not engaged with politics right now, they are more concerned about their jobs than any election. The good news is that, if there is a winter election, we can watch Sun TV! We won't have to wade through the lefty slop anymore to get to the real truth. How refreshing is that going to be?

Stand up TO Harper, is the new cry from the lefties. Did you see the NDP manufactured signs? Did you hear them sing "Oh Canada"? Me neither. Iggy, and Layton showed their partisan selves by showing up at the protests. You didn't see PM Harper show up at any protests about the coalition, he has more class and more sense.

The MSM pushed this issue with everything they had, and it was a big flop. Their influence is slipping away, and they are too stupid to understand that they are killing their jobs with their biased reporting. So be it!

Watch this if you like Craig Oliver. Oh by the way Oliver baby, the anti-coalition protests were in January too, and they were bigger. It's all a big manufactured crisis by the MSM and their favorite buddies the Liberals. Too bad Liberals talk a good game, but have no idea how to actually get anything done.

I am sick and tired of our biased media. So I want to start targeting their advertisers, because without them, they can not survive. Coors beer has to go, buy Brewhouse instead, it's only a $1 a beer (in Alberta) and my hubby says it tastes just as good. If everyone stops buying Coors for just one month, they will get the message, especially if we email them as to why they are losing revenues.

Lefties are yapping about prorogation of Parliament being a threat to our democracy. So let's compare and contrast. This is something our lefties can not understand, people actually giving their lives to try and get democracy. This prorogue protest is so juvenile compared to the people who are really fighting for their chance to be free.



Real people are fighting with everything they have to gain freedom, while our lefties turn a blind eye. Feminists should be rushing to Afghanistan and Haiti to help, but they are too busy chanting "My body, my choice" to hear the pain of Afghanistan women who are getting acid thrown in their faces. Feminists are silent about that though, it's not politically correct.

Can Layton, Duceppe, and Iggy now support the budget without looking like idiots? Or will one of the coalition parties fall on their sword for the other two parties? Funny how none of the people rallying were calling for an election. If this government is soooo bad, bring them down, let's have an election!!!

“This time it’s clear to people that it’s an unacceptable act.”

I Predict ....A Massive Depression.

There you go, it's a fact. A depression is on the way and you are going to suffer. Mark my words, I know this economic stuff. Stagflation is just around the corner, one of the worse situations any economy can suffer from, high unemployment and high inflation.

Imagine you are unemployed and food prices skyrocket. You are screwed. Unless you have a veggie garden like I do. Even people in apartments can have fresh tomatoes, cucumbers,and beans, but few do. Why, because they rely on the government to solve all their problems.

I have a huge problem with the budget officer, Page. He comes out with reports before the finance department just to enhance his position. He undermines the government with no real facts, just predictions like mine. He is like the guy who cries wolf, when it is actually a sheep. He listens to Don Drummond, a confirmed Liberal supporter, who the media love to quote, but who knows nothing more of less than any other expert, like me!

OTTAWA -- Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has dismissed a prediction of deeper, longer-term deficits from Parliament's budget watchdog.

He rejected analysis from Kevin Page, the parliamentary budget officer, that major spending cuts or tax hikes will be the only way to get Canada out of the red within five years.

Past warnings from Page have proven accurate. But Flaherty says he's off-base this time, because the bleak prediction is based on unduly pessimistic economic-growth projections.

"He's wrong," Flaherty told journalists in a conference call from a G8 finance ministers' meeting in Lecce, Italy.

"Because he says growth rates likely will be slower than I had predicted. Now, if you make an assumption with respect to lower growth rates, then you get the results that he postulates.

"But anybody can do that."

Assume...I assume that the GM bailout will fail and that auto workers will lose their jobs and that southern Ontario will be taken over by the US, because they want our oil. Oh, wait...

If oil keeps above $60, and the bank rate stays below 1%, I predict massive profits for the federal government because of oil sands development. Did Page factor the oil sands into his calculations? I doubt it because he has no clue what is happening in the west.

The Toronto Dominion Bank now projects $167 billion in deficits over five years -- almost double what the government forecasts -- and expects a $19.4 billion deficit in 2013-14, the year Flaherty foresees a return to surplus.

The TD should hire better qualified experts, not politically motivated supposed experts. They are making a lot of people mad, and the bank is going to suffer for their bias. I predict massive withdrawals from TD because a bank should never get politically involved, like they have with Drummond. I hope all those billions for oil sands projects go to another bank, one that is not so politically aligned with the Liberals, maybe ATB, an Alberta bank. What happens in Alberta should stay in Alberta! We know how our taxpayers dollars got taken from us by the Liberals and given out to yet to be named Quebec Liberals, why support those who helped them steal our money.

I predict all of this as a Canadian citizen, not an expert on anything. I think my opinion is just as valid as any other Canadian citizen, I just don't get interviewed by CTV/CBC like Drummond, so I can bias all Canadians by my opinions.

I predict....a Conservative majority next election, and you can take that to the bank! HA!!

If The Left Unites, And By Mistake Wins...

....What should we expect? What if Danny Boy's ABC campaign works across Canada (prairies exempted)? What if they carry this anything to prevent the Conservatives from a majority too far, and they get the Dion Liberals by mistake?

Think about it, seriously, for just one second. What if the lefties actually do prevent the Conservatives from even a minority, guess who we are stuck with....Dion! Now, the lefties might cheer, high fives all around between the four lefty parties, and then, they get to implement their platforms, in one of the most unstable global economies I can ever remember. Can you see the mess Canada would be?

Being lefties they will all band together to promote the "greater" good. So, what is their "greater" good? Combine their platforms together and what do you get?

Carbon credits against productive taxpaying businesses.
More funding for the arts.
Shutting down the only sector that is still showing some life (energy)
Shift to eco-friendly vehicles no one can afford (they will be unemployed).
Money to Europe to buy Kyoto credits.
Increasing the GST.
Getting rid of income splitting for seniors.
Pulling out of Afghanistan now.
De-funding our military.
Canceling much needed military equipment.
Free drugs for all.
Legalized prostitution.
Legalized marijuana.
Increased business taxes to pay for social programs.
Doubling childcare credits AND a Federal sponsored daycare.
Raising fuel prices this winter. (Hey it's not Alberta this time, saying let them freeze in the dark, it's the Liberal/NDP/Bloq/Green parties)
Protecting ALL animals, over humans.
Banning all guns.
Killing all development of the Arctic.
Negotiating with terrorists.
Repeat offenders getting out early...like the known sexual predator who abducted the little girl in Alberta this weekend.

....And a chicken in every pot, but no fuel to cook it!

If that doesn't scare you, when the economy is becoming more unstable, nothing ever will. Think about how fast our economy will tank. Unions will be looking for higher wages, especially the Ontario teacher's union and autoworkers, and forestry workers, and nurses, and every sector that is in trouble will have their hands out. Oh, and let's not forget about getting rid of poverty.

Remember the Rae surprise in Ontario? What if by some miracle we get a Dion surprise? Or heaven forbid, a Layton surprise because of strategic voting.

So, when you are sitting around your dinner tables eating your Thanksgiving feast, think hard about your vote, and what it means to the stability, even the continued existence of the Canada we all love. This is not some game, this is about the survival of Canada, and who is the best leader. This is not about cuts to the arts, this is about cuts to the very fabric of our country.

My day 3 impressions.

Oil; Alberta and Saskatchewan are going Conservative after Layton's and Dion's scheme's to hurt our economies, who else can we vote for? NDP Duncan, in Rahim Jaffer's Edmonton riding, is going to pay for Layton's oil sand slam. Sure the university groupies Duncan has surrounding her are cheering, but it's a big riding, many people living there work in the oil patch, and Rahim is very popular. Duncan is living in a lefty world at the UofA. I predict real Edmontonian's are going to show her for the THIRD time, that talking about taking their jobs away isn't a vote getter. Her only hope is getting Liberals to shift (HA) their votes to her.

Diesel; Count on all farmers, truckers, and rural people to vote Conservative. This will resonate with anyone not living in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. The econuts are against this, but what do they ever produce but hot air? They do nothing, you never see them in Africa planting crops, all you ever see is the econuts protesting in polar bear suits.

Afghanistan; Count on military members, veterans, and their families to support the Conservatives after this message from the Taliban. The only party that has been standing up for our military has been the Conservatives, with the Liberals, who actually sent us there, dragging behind them. Liberal support of the Tamal Tigers, Hezbollah, and voting down the tough security bill, one of the only times they stood up in Parliament to vote, has seriously harmed their brand.

Dion Re-branded; Please! Are we going to see him hunting moose with Sarah Palin next? It's not going to work, his image is made, just like the Liberals branded Stockwell Day way back when.

Day 3, the most exciting thing that happened was a puffin, oh and don't they hide their excrement? If that's the best that the MSM can do, sorry not buying it. No-one is going to change their vote over puffin pooh.

Maybe I can't get excited about this election because we are not the underdogs anymore. We are not clawing our way out of the 13 year wilderness and hoping to take power. Maybe it's just because I'm sitting here in Conservative country, sure of getting my MP re-elected. What I do know is that it's dangerous to think this race is a done deal. It's not, one little puffin miss-step, like beer and popcorn, could change everything.

I almost wish I could be door knocking in a close riding, just for the excitement of fighting to win. Maybe I will toddle off to Rahim's riding (right next door) to see if they need a door knocker, I love talking to lefty university students, they are like blank slates, they passionately support a cause, then forget to go and vote.

Why Vote Conservative!

With an election about to be called, my question is why vote Conservative?

Let's get rid of the garbage first...

1. Harper eats kittens. (Only if they are 5 days old and boiled in OIL)
2. Harper is scary! (Either he is a makeup wearing, hair dresser loving guy, or he is just a guy who needs some gray haired touch up)
3. Harper hates Canada. (He also wants to hunt polar bears and wipe them off the face of the earth while eating kittens.)
4. Harper has a hidden agenda. ( refer to point 1, eating kittens and OIL).
5. Harper is owned by big OIL! (Oil is bad, no more heat in houses, caves are better.)

Why vote Conservative? To stop all the baby kitten eating!

Seriously, when all the parties admit they are going to go negative, it shows how desperate they are, so vote Conservative to stop them from themselves!

There, did I tick all you lefties off?? HA. So what have lefties been up to lately?

1. In America, they are accusing Governor Palin of faking the birth of her 5th child, covering up for her 17 year old daughter, who was the "real" mother. Nice! As if a 17 year old doesn't have enough problems. It appears she does, but it's none of our business. CTV mentions it every 15 minutes though, now that's real classy. NOT.

The second Harper breaks his election date law, he MUST be arrested!!! Wow! A little over the top there buddy! Lefties...we disagree with everything this government is doing, but PM Harper better not call an election, like we wanted just days ago, because, because, well, because ummm....he's a BULLY!

3. They start with the scare tactics....Harper Tories on the brink of majority, poll finds The Conservatives have been polling around 36% for about 2 years, give or take a few percents, now at 37%, we get "brink of a MAJORITY"?
Well, well, how convenient, let's pull out the M word, we know how that scared voters in 2004. Have the MSM been hiding the real polls from us? Is that why all opposition parties are running scared? Won't work this time, voters have seen the Conservatives in action, and they still like them!

Better sharpen up your attacks lefties, I smell an election in the air! Oh, and try to keep to the facts, and not things that are being disputed before the courts. What next, are we going to hear about how PM Harper shakes his son's hand at school again? Yes, I know I'm mixing up American and Canadian lefties, but they are all the same anyways. Or would you prefer to be called...well, I can't think of a more polite word to call lefties, so lefties it is!!

Why should Canadians vote for any of the opposition parties? That's what Canadian voters are going to be asking.

PM Harper Has Them Chasing Their Tails!

Well according to Duceppe and Layton, it's a go. Funny how they wanted an election, and now they don't. Where's Dion? Hiding under the bed again? HA!

Here's my take on what's going on. Agree or disagree.

The opposition has been calling for an election for months. Dion especially has been talking about Canadians wanting to go to the polls. Of course this has been all bluster and no substance, or Dion would have voted against the budget, not sat on his hands for 44 votes. Layton and Duceppe have been forcing Dion to prop up the government because they know he isn't ready to fight an election. It hasn't been the Conservatives putting Dion in this position, it's been his buddies Layton and Duceppe. Now the bluff has been called.

The Conservatives are gently getting Canadians ready for an election call, and the opposition are falling right into line. They are now up in arms because PM Harper is supposedly breaking his own law, that they all supported. They are shouting it from the roof tops, and Liberal lawyers are actually threatening to take the Conservatives to court about it. Remember, an election hasn't been called yet.

But, everyone is now thinking election. Let's blame the Prime Minister, call him a bully, complain about the money it will cost for an election, pull out all the arguments about why all of a sudden, Canadians don't want an election, tell us how Parliament is now working fine, it's not dysfunctional. HA!

PM Harper sure has them chasing their tails, the MSM included!

If an election is coming, the opposition/MSM have used up all their ammo. The Conservatives might take a small hit in the current polls for calling an election before the recommended date, but, by the time the election is called, people will be more interested in the policies presented, not who called it or why.

Start by talking about a dysfunctional Parliament, then ask to meet with the opposition leaders, have them talk about PM Harper being set on calling an election, have Dion look disrespectful for not meeting with the PM, and then convince us, if an election is coming, why waste the money on the by-elections, let's just go to the polls NOW!

Funny how the polls have changed from 80% not wanting an election, to a 50/50 split.

Yes, you read it correctly, the Liberal government will.... brought to you by CTV and Craig Oliver. The Liberals are still living in Liberal lala land. They truly believe that the Conservatives only won because of Adscam. They seriously think that most Canadians are socialists. They remind me of those elites that ignore the common poor in Canada to sell coal to China.

CTV and Craig Oliver are all over the Conservatives for calling Dion's bluff/s. Bad Conservatives, good Liberals. Watch this little gem, it gives us a good idea of how the media operates, and how biased they really are.



Craig Oliver makes 3 mistakes. First he talks about the Conservatives losing 3 by-elections. Hold it! Don't the Liberals presently hold those 3 seats? Wasn't it Liberals who retired prematurely? Premature election??? HA! So, it's the Liberals who stand to lose, not the Conservatives.

Second, he spouts about the Liberal government taking down the....oh wait....the Liberal Party....dang Oliver, you are way past your "best by date".

Then he returns to his rant about Conservatives losing 4 by-elections. Hello Oliver, they lose nothing as none of the seats are presently Conservative, but don't let the facts get in the way of a good Liberal rant. CTV looks like fools over those three blunders by Oliver. CTV is also revealing that it's no better than CBC with rants like those that Oliver goes on. CTV has often been worse than CBC, remind me to point out their bias when I see it. Better yet, please point out their bias when you see it. With an election coming, all ammo is needed.

Biased media??? Oliver still thinks the Liberals are the government, what does that tell you??

So, I'm Wondering.......

Where have all the weekly polls gone? Shouldn't all the polling companies be out in force, asking about the green shift? I'm curious, aren't they? Or are the results not being published? Call me skeptical, but the silence is deafening.

The latest poll numbers I could find were from Ipsos. Shows a tie. Funny how you can't access the actual data. Nik on the Numbers, hasn't done a poll on how we would vote, since April? You remember, his firm was the most accurate during the election, but now looking at his site, he pontificates with few numbers to back him up.

Check out his latest article, not one single number, not one. Excuse me, but don't you do surveys to find out public opinion, with some numbers?

Then we have Decima, did they forget Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba again? Just asking because I see no mention of the west, except for BC, well, I know BC is in the west, but, they are only part of the west. Did Decima include Toronto and forget Alberta, because you see, the two cancel each other out. And they talk about urban women, not rural women, why did they exclude rural women? Just asking.

So, one won't show their numbers, the next talks but has no numbers, and the third, forgets a few provinces, and rural women? Nice.

If the two parties are tied, as the polls show, why did the Liberals sit on their hands over 40 times? Why not a fall election? I love the fall, door knocking will be much more pleasant in the fall than the winter like last time. What's it going to be Dion? Here are his choices as I see them:

1. Sit on hands tell October 2009, then lose.
2. Wait for December, then maybe get booted as Liberal leader, then lose.
3. Force election in fall, then lose.
4. Call uncle, claim bankruptcy and step down, then lose.

Yikes it's not looking good for Dion!

How To Get An Election Called Early!

Okay, I knew that all political parties get $1.75 per each vote obtained after an election. What I didn't know is that it's not a one time payment after an election, it's an annual payment, made in quarterly installments. Here's the latest QUARTERLY installment:

So, doing the math, if an election is held every 4 years, they would receive:

Bloq $12,133,606.24
Conservatives $41,982,242.72
Green $ 5,187,699.20
Liberals $34,993,189.92
NDP $20,229,927.52

That's a lot of taxpayer money. Oh, and they get an adjustment for inflation on top of that!

I see why they frame it as only $1.75 per vote. If the average Canadian, like me, understood how much it really amounts to per year, per party, I think there would be a huge stink! The Greens get $5 million and they don't even have an MP elected! No wonder the Liberals don't care about fund raising, they don't need to, not with $2 million coming in every three months, adding up to over 30 million in 4 years!

Here's how the Conservatives can get an election called....abolish this payment, make parties rely on fund raising. If they are rolling in the donations like we are told, they can afford to do without this "allowance"!! The other parties would never support that bill, so make it a confidence vote! Somehow, I don't think this will happen.

The Time Is Now......

Or maybe later. Don Martin from the National Post seems to think: No better time than now for the Liberals He might be right, for the Liberals, but not Dion. And last time I checked Dion was still the leader of the Liberal party, so what's it going to be?

Prime Minister Stephen Harper's kickoff for his caucus retreat tonight is being advance-billed as The Dion Dare, a gauntlet he will throw down at Liberal leader Stéphane Dion's feet demanding he pull the parliamentary plug this fall or back away from his chronically empty election bluster until next year.

The Dion Dare? HA! It's the cat, playing with the rat. Conservatives are ready, it's the Liberal party that isn't. Now, I have to admit, being here in Conservative land, my view might be skewed, but we are ready to go and get our Conservative MP re-elected by over 60% again!

It's a government that seems eager to make itself very easy to defeat -- and the Official Opposition may find it very hard to resist the temptation to oblige.

Mr. Harper is expected to gloat at being handed the perfect campaign weapon with which to eviscerate the Liberals -- Mr. Dion's $15-billion carbon tax is a tough sell to an electorate that doesn't believe it will get it back, as promised, in tax rebates.

But as news of four-digit layoffs become a gloomy fixture in the headlines, and giant slabs of Arctic ice break free as an alleged result of man-made climate change, there's an alignment of economic and environmental circumstances coming together for the Liberals.

Here's where Martin gets it wrong, but don't tell the Liberals. The environment is going to take a huge beating in the next election, people only pay attention to it when the economy is good. Right now in Ontario, people are more interested in keeping their jobs than worrying about a harmless gas they can't even see. Martin should also check out the fact that Arctic ice is heavier this year and that giant slabs of Arctic ice always break off in the summer! Also believe it or not our cute little polar bears are doing just fine, eating all those baby seals!

The next Liberal gabfest is scheduled for December. That timetable squeezes Mr. Dion into a rock-hard predicament that gives his rivals considerable hope they will have him shoved out by next summer.

If he forces a fall vote, the convention will be pushed back to next spring, where he will likely be turfed by a party that will accept nothing less than a Prime Minister Dion as leadership success.

But if the campaign starts after the scheduled 2008 convention, Mr. Dion will have almost two years to rebuild a support base before his leadership is validated or revoked at the next biennial gathering of the Grits in late 2010.

The Liberals can not get rid of Dion at the December convention, they elected him, and they have no proof he would lose the election with the numbers showing the Conservatives and Liberals tied, so they are stuck with him. I suspect Liberal friendly pollsters are telling Canadians one thing (tie), and internal polls are telling a whole different story (Conservative win), but the Liberal media has now put the Liberals in a bind, they can't get rid of Dion!

That means Dion would be smart to wait until Oct 2009, by then people might have forgotten his green shaft. Only remaining question, how smart is Dion?? HA!

Liberals, When The Fruit Is Ripe!

So voters are fruit, ripe for the picking, according to Dion.

Liberals to assess best odds, Dion says

The Liberals will judge coming confidence votes in Parliament on their own self-interest and their shot at victory in the ensuing election, leader Stéphane Dion said yesterday.

"We will determine the timing of the election when we will have the best odds of winning," he said in an interview that will run on the French-language TVA network tomorrow.

"It's rare that the population wants an election, but we can feel it when the fruit is ripe. And at that time - it's not up to me to tell you when; it's part of the strategy that we keep close to our chest - there will be an election."

Can it be any clearer that the Liberals are not interested in what is best for Canadians, just best for them? Dion might as well have said they are, "entitled to their entitlements". I predict that we won't be going to an election anytime soon.
