In Praise Of Teens!

First, I want to thank my two sons for being trouble free teens. Thanks boys! They respect us as their parents, but in return we respect them as individuals. It's a very difficult time in their lives with their bodies changing, and their need for independence fighting their desire to remain coddled. They want to grow up, just not too fast, and that's okay by me!

It's funny how the liberals have worked so hard to reduce restrictions in our society and yet, teenagers are going back to the days of personal responsibility and moral living.

The image of the rebellious teen, experimenting with sex and drugs and alcohol at a rate that worries their parents, needs to be revised to reflect what has become an increasingly virtuous demographic, according to a sweeping new survey of Canadian youth.

Today's teens are rewarding their vigilant parents with good behaviour: They are less likely to smoke, drink or take drugs than they were eight years ago. And 56% of teens have never had sex, up from 51% in 2000. In fact, the weekly sexual activity of teenagers is about on par with that of adults over 60.

Yikes! This is not what the liberals expected, what happened to free love and drugs? How can children from divorced families think that marriage and kids are preferable to free sex and drugs?

When it comes to family life, many expect they will cohabitate before they marry, but 91% plan to tie the knot.

Almost half want two children, more than a quarter of them want three children, 10% want four children and 4% want at least five children. As well, 90% of teenage boys and 90% of teenage girls expect they will stay with the same partner for life.

91% plan to marry and stay with the same partner for life? What about those swingers clubs? Free sex without worry because abortion is so easy. I don't think feminists are going to like these stats very much. Obviously our schools are not lefty enough! HA! Not only are they failing to convince teenagers that the hippy days of free sex and drugs are here again, they are failing to destroy the family unit. Remember it is the feminists who are all for "choice", wonder what they are going to do about these female teens choosing to get married, have babies and stay with their partner for life?

The feminists are going to have to get shriller and more militant because their message is just not getting across to their target audience. They will be screaming for daycare because they know you have to get them young to indoctrinate them for life. Maybe if feminists would have stopped killing their babies, they would have some teenagers to support their agenda today. They are dying a slow death by abortion.

Clearly the days of burning your bras, doing drugs and killing your babies are history. Our younger generation is looking towards graduating from university, getting good paying jobs, having meaningful life long relationships and bringing their children into this world as part of those stable relationships.

It appears the day of the feminist is dead, and the day of the family is back!
