Skanky MSM and Opposition

The hound dogs are howling into the dark again. All attack dogs are out in full force and digging up anything they can to discredit the Conservatives. The problem is that these attacks are getting embarrassing for the MSM and the opposition.

It is really degrading for the opposition to keep on attacking Helena for something she had no control over. The MSM has come out of the closet to show their true liberal bias. It makes them stink to high heaven. When it was revealed that Pablo got questions from a media hack, it barely made a ripple, it was a one day wonder at best. The media has not questioned Pat Martin about his assistant leading the U of Zeros protest against Ann Coulter, why not? She was actually foaming at the mouth, now that is a radical.

The attacks against Helena have been relentless and they wonder why women don't run for Parliament? Hedy "burning crosses" is a roll model to young girls, but Helena who got upset at the Charlottetown airport on her birthday, is a demon? Look, I love PEI, it is a great place with very friendly people, we might even retire there, but if Wayne Easter is representative of who PEI wants to send to Parliament, I'm not sure I even want to buy PEI potatoes. What have the federal Liberals ever done for PEI? Lots of promises, no action.

The opposition are proving themselves to be very small people by their relentless attacks on Helena. The Conservatives need to start firing back or they will lose my respect. I have always thought that Conservatives treat their female members as equals, I am beginning to have my doubts.

If we look at the issue, Helena had a hissy fit at the PEI airport, she apologized. That should be the end of the story. Unfortunately the Liberal party needs a scandal to bring down the Conservatives, and so they get their media attack dogs to keep this story alive in the hopes that something will stick to the Conservatives.

They are sickening and that is why they are sinking in the polls. Ganging up on a female is pretty sad. Maybe Iggy can explain how what a husband does reflects on the wife, like his leaving his wife and family for the "love of his life". Nice morals Iggy.

It's funny to see how the Liberals always rise up to take the bait.
Lead story on CTV, natch, with the predictable Ignatieff swallowing the hook and making a mountain out of a molehill.
He should have said is it's not news. That a failed former MP too lazy to campaign and win his Alberta seat, with a subsequent conviction for careless driving who is also married to a lightweight junior minister is not important compared to the issues facing the country today.
Instead, he took the easy road and fed the government distraction machine.
I'll never be a Liberal.
But if I was one today I'd be concerned by his performance.
I vote conservative and I was rather pleased watching it all.

You really don't want to go there, do you?

I believe Helena is under considerable stress for being married to a douchebag. Warning to women, don't marry douchebags. That being said, her behavior under pressure has not ministerial, and thus I would like to see her resign from cabinet.

I am not a strategist, but I have seen this pattern play out.

The MSM create a narrative and the opposition jump on it hook line and sinker.

The MSM and opposition pile on to only overplay the hand and look petty and foolish.

They have done this with the wafer, Olympic Torch Relay, H1N1, Stimulus spending.

The opposition are notorious for asking for resignations of female conservatives. Last 12 months Leona, Lisa and now Helena.

Review the tapes of the attacks, the pattern is the same.

The opposition parties are desperate because they have failed on winning public support on many big files. (Economy, EI, Deficit, Job, Environment, Healthcare, Pension)
The CPC Agenda is rolling along with moderate changes.

Preceeding Liberal demands for resignations of Leona, Lisa and Helena were Rona and Bev.

Tho the list of male Ministers is much longer, the calls for resignations is a short list of 3, uless I missed somoeone (?) O'Connor, Bernier, McKay.

THE PALINIZATION OF HELENA

Palinization (v) :the editorial practice of destroying the credibility of a ‘female’ politician by means of insinuation & innuendo. This practice is materially supported by sleazy comedians and public servants.

In the last few years we have seen an ethical decline in journalistic practices in most of the traditional media.

This was made vomitously apparent during the recent U.S. Presidential election where most of the video & print media obsessively reported on the personal life of Sarah Palin to the point, most people expected an NBC camera would be hidden in her bedroom.

They took great delight in minimizing any personal or political accomplishment she has made and gloatingly feasted on every real or imagined fault. Strangely this same media seemed reluctant to use the journalistic microscope on her political opposition (see Bill Ayres).

We tend to think that Canadians are not as absurdly discourteous as our neighbors south of the border when it comes to political personal lives. However when I see a major urban newspaper using the same tactics, the same rhetoric and the same obsessive detailing of a house party, for no other reason than to embarrass a Federal Government Minister, I cannot see much difference.

Frankly, I don’t know much about Helena, her husband or her personal life. I suspect that she is, like most of us, given to frustration or bemusement at her job as Minister of State (Status of Women). For all reports a job she is doing well.

Like anyone who has flown in Canada, the time and glacial movement of airport security, coupled with the condescending attitude of these petty, over inflated rent-a-cops would drive anyone to anger. The fact that her behavior was instantly transmitted to the media and the opposition parties tells me, that someone somewhere had an ulterior motive.

The subsequent faux outrage and continuing hectoring of her, by the media, the opposition to me is another example of the bias of much of the Canadian media.

The fact that the famous ‘Sisterhood’ of the feminist groups has to this time not appeared even attempt to support her shows their political leaning. It’s laughable that the champion of independent women seems to be tagged with the behavior of her spouse in the minds these groups.

Helena Guergis may have made many mistakes in her life, as we all have, but the Palinization of her comes with a price.

The media has created an extremely powerful voice for conservatives in the U.S. with their negative, belittling coverage of Ms. Palin and like her or not, she is going to be a factor in future elections. I wonder if some of the brain trusts in the Toronto Star have thought this out.

As I indicated above, I really don’t know a lot about Ms. Guergis, but I suspect she’s never voted ‘present’ during a commons debate.

To use a sports analogy, the Liberals are playing defense and as such will not win the next election. The Conservatives have the Liberals pinned deep in the Liberal's endzone and the Liberals have no way of breaking out. So the Liberals will keep up with their faux scandals and the Conservatives will continue to advance their agenda. While I wouldn't wish what Helena is going through on my worst enemy it is a thing of beauty to watch what PM Harper is accomplishing in the absence of true opposition. Witness the WWI memorial.

Canadian Sense, I know you are talking about the last 12 months, but you should also recall the attacks on Ambrose, and the various attacks on Bev Oda and Diane Ablonsky.

Next ones up - Candace Hoepner and Shelley Glover. Drum roll, please.

Completely O/T, but I am just stunned. I was watching the Vimy ceremonies on CBC and at the end, Mansbridge carefully told the viewers in Atlantic Canada, Ontario and Quebec, what would be coming up on CBC. Just what does that make the rest of us - chopped liver ? Or is that the nonone in the Prairies or BC watches CBC any more ?

Helena the skank is gone!!! HA!

If Harper gets rid of he just proves to me once again he is a coward.

SQ, why don't we want to go there, re Iggy leaving his wife for a home wrecker, and then living with her for several months before marriage. Think of the children. When iggy gets on tv and tries to talk morals etc, he is in a glass house. Gee, and Chretains son arrested for rape. There will be lots more little tidbits of wrongdoing by liberals, their wives and kids.
Wonder how many female journalists are just living with their mate, would they like that broadcast all over.
And we had a GG who had to get married before she could be sworn in.

I can't wait to see the Friday Funnies where you defend the indefensible. More that is, than you attempt every day.

Did you hear that that Bonnie and Clyde are actually Liberals who infiltrated the CPC (and Reform) because that's where the action is, and of course to make poor Stevie cry? I expect that will be the next talking point.

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

Looks like SQ and LS came out from under the bed/their parent's basements just long enough to pee on the floor and disappear again.

So tell me Hunter, when housebreaking your puppies, do you rub their noses in it?

Too funny Eskimo! No, only the slowest puppies keep on peeing in other people's homes, making sure that everyone laughs at them.

Ya wanna talk Vic Toews? I thought not...

maryT said...

SQ, quit answering questions for me. Vic Toes is not a party leader, and the media is/has never tried to make him out to be someone who could be PM. Big difference.
Want to talk McCallum, and his public drunkeness at an airport.
When iggy is talking about Political Class, does he include the antics of the Rat Pack, or Carolyn Parrish. How about when Sheila Copps climbed over the benches during QP to attack Crosbie. Liberals can't handle opposition.
