My Scary Halloween House.

I know it's a day late, but blogger was down last night. Here is an unedited version of our house this Halloween. I will make another one when I have the time, but this one by my 17 year old was really good. The kids coming to the house loved it! They want it scarier next year. The guillotine is new this year, as are the paper machete creatures.

Some pictures in daylight might show more of the creatures:

It was a hoot! We doubled our kid traffic this year. Most of the creatures are made with Styrofoam heads from Value Village and upside down tomato stakes. I am Conservative, I will find ways to save money and have fun at the same time! My husband finally got in the spirit of things and built me the guillotine and got the moving ghost actually moving! Thanks Dear!

Eco Slap Down, Aliens And Halloween! RADICAL!

No, this is not the Friday Night Funnies, but it should be! Stick with me now, it will all make perfect sense to someone out there! HA!

The start, the chickens are coming home to roost:

Lawrence Solomon: Global warming propagandist slapped down

William Connolley, arguably the world’s most influential global warming advocate after Al Gore, has lost his bully pulpit. Connolley did not wield his influence by the quality of his research or the force of his argument but through his administrative position at Wikipedia, the most popular reference source on the planet.

Through his position, Connolley for years kept dissenting views on global warming out of Wikipedia, allowing only those that promoted the view that global warming represented a threat to mankind. As a result, Wikipedia became a leading source of global warming propaganda, with Connolley its chief propagandist.

His career as a global warming propagandist has now been stopped, following a unanimous verdict that came down today through an arbitration proceeding conducted by Wikipedia. In the decision, a slap-down for the once-powerful Connolley by his peers, he has been barred from participating in any article, discussion or forum dealing with global warming. In addition, because he rewrote biographies of scientists and others he disagreed with, to either belittle their accomplishments or make them appear to be frauds, Wikipedia barred him — again unanimously — from editing biographies of those in the climate change field.

Then we get this, the guy is a serial repressive:

Wikipedia climate revisionism by William Connolley continues

Apparently Wikipedia’s own attempt at self policing problem editors isn’t working. Despite being up for a restriction or a ban, rogue Wiki editor (and Real Climate co-founder) William Connolley is still removing anything he doesn’t like when it comes to climate science. This time it’s wholesale removal of any reference to the American Physical Society resignation letter of physicist Hal Lewis, who resigned over the APS global warming position:

Which leads to this example of where the whole CO2 is dangerous shtick leads...into the twilight zone:

Retired NORAD Officer's New Book Predicts a Tentative Worldwide UFO Display on October 13, 2010
A newly-published book by a retired NORAD officer predicts October 13, 2010 as the tentative date for a fleet of extraterrestrial vehicles to hover for hours over the earth's principal cities. Author says the event to be the first in a series intended to avert a planetary catastrophe resulting from increasing levels of carbon-dioxide in the earth's atmosphere dangerously approaching a "critical mass."

And finally, I think this shows where greenies are heading with their CO2 is evil propaganda:

Moose Jaw Halloween fundraiser cancelled for ‘inviting evil’
It was not long after sending out the fall issue of its newsletter announcing a Halloween fundraiser that the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw started receiving complaints; pastors came to the museum in person, emails and phone calls rolled in and concerns from church groups and community members were expressed to politicians saying the planned seance and ghost walk was “inviting evil” into the community.
Is there a full moon coming up? Environmentalism is now a religion. Or should I say that RADICAL environmentalists are to blame for climate change scare tactics, so I don't get into trouble? It seems that as long as you put RADICAL in front of whatever group you are talking about, it becomes politically acceptable these days. So, I'm not blaming ALL environmentalists for climate fraud, just the RADICAL ones! Now, you decide who are the RADICALS, and who aren't!

When environmentalists try to change the facts or restrict them, they become as bad as those fringe religions with total nutcakes as their "ministers". Halloween, aliens and environmentalists are now a perfect match, and environmentalists did it to themselves. They have lost all credibility, and their cause is a big failure.
Too bad, if they would have stuck with REAL pollution of our air, land and water, we would still be with them, but they couldn't help jumping the shark!

Wear A Burka Day!

I know that wearing a burka wouldn't even be noticed in Saudi Arabia, but how about in North America? If we can have a boob quake, how about a burka bonanza? Let's all wear a burka for a day, and that means you guys too!

Why should we do that? I have been interested in how it would feel to be walking around only showing your eyes. I suspect it is a lot like getting dressed up for Halloween. I am always a witch at Halloween, and as I get dressed up, my personality changes, until I'm acting the part of a witch. Look at Marti Gras, once people are masked, they relax their morals, and do things they normally wouldn't do. A burka is a big mask that women hide behind.

The thing is, after Halloween, I don't go around in my witches costume, it gets packed away in a trunk until next year. Most importantly, by reverting to the normal dress of our society, I fit back in and can truly be myself, not some made up character.

Why would a woman choose to hide behind a burka? It is not a religious requirement of their religion, so why wear it here in Canada and risk being stared at or worse?
I personally think is as a form of oppression. I might wear a witches costume for a few hours, but by then I am tired of playing a role and want back into my sweats. Do the women who wear burkas feel the same?

I think the best way to gain prospective on this issue is to wear a burka for a day. I want to see all our MP's wearing them during question period, not to mock them, but to let them see what women who are forced into wearing them must feel. They have all sorts of days on Parliament Hill, like woman's day, and international day of the child, why not burka day?

I suggest an international burka day, in solidarity with all the women out there who are forced to wear them. Oh, and only black burkas would be allowed, anyone daring to wear a blue burka would be subject to big fines. Let's wear a burka for a day and see how we feel being stared at and maybe worse, only then can we formulate a law for Canada.

Halloween Hits CBC!

Fun time this year with Halloween. We scared more parents than kids. Some pictures of the fun.

This one is very eerie.

So staying in the Halloween mode, I saw this poll tonight:

So, 69% of people couldn't care less about CBC. Maybe it is a Halloween joke. HA!

This one absolutely has to be a Halloween joke....right?

I don't watch hockey, so this picture of the Habs uniforms really took me by surprise. Is that really their uniform? It looks like a candy cane crossed with a barber pole. It belongs in this post about Halloween.

After weeks of getting ready for Halloween, and waiting for the kids tonight, it ended up being great fun. Next year, the guillotine!

Friday Funnies: Halloween At My House!

So the ghosts are filled with chocolate, and will be climbing the walls all weekend. Here is a video taken by my son, showing our yard and all the ghouls we had visiting.

We had people stopping their cars to look at our house, but you really had to come up to our doorstep to get the full effect.

Tomorrow, I go get all the 1/2 priced ghouls for next year.

Fun was had by all, especially the Bride of Frankenstein. I didn't find even one child fit to throw into the boiling cauldron, oh well, maybe next year!
