Call The Election Alison!

Alberta is ready to rock the province! The PC's are running scared. Many current PC's are not going to run again. Alison was forced to appoint a candidate because of an MLA resigning (happened to be the chair of the do nothing committee), so she appointed a Mayor who is allegedly under investigation for illegal donations to the PC party. Nice!

I can tell they are worried because I have been "randomly" polled 4 times now to see who I am going to vote for, and the only party who would happen to have my number are the PC's. The last question the poll asked was about the do nothing committee and whether the PC's returning only 6 months of their ill gotten gains was enough. Of course I said NO, NO, NO! They also asked if my impression of Alison was favourable or not. NOT! Was my impression of Danielle favourable or not. FAVOURABLE! If many old PC supporters like me are giving them the same response, and by all the polling I think they are, the PC's are in trouble. Big time.

When Alison the Red finally calls the election, hopefully Monday, get your Wildrose sign, and volunteer for their candidate in your riding. They are a young party, and they need all the help they can get.

Ding Dong! The HRC Section 13 Is Dead!

I'm loving this government. First the long gun registry is up for death by uselessness. Then the CWB loses it's monopsony power to jail our western farmers. They of course, like any good lefties, are whining to the courts, with our tax dollars. Violent criminals might actually get enough time in jail to understand that they did something wrong, thanks to a crime bill the lefties can't stand, because those poor, poor criminals didn't really mean to rape that women, or shoot that kid. Now, the next piece has fallen into place, the striking of the offensive section 13 from the HRC book of tricks.  No longer will people get persecuted for free speech because someone is "offended"!

The problem for censorshipminded activists is that proving hate speech in court is hard. Courts tend to abridge Charter rights such as freedom of expression only in the most extreme cases. It is unlikely that an antiimmigration screed on the Internet or a controversial editorial cartoon would prompt a real judge to shut down a website or fine a blogger. That's why most activists prefer to rely on Sec. 13 of the CHRA and its provincial counterparts (which should also be written out of the law), instead of the criminal code.

Now, real judges will hear real cases of hate speech, not the biased HRC employees. Now, a blogger stating their opinion on an issue will not have to worry about being hauled before the HRC for someone with "hurt" feelings. Kudos to this government for acting on this issue. Now, if "Red Ali" wants to keep Conservative votes, she will get rid of this odious section in Alberta's HRC, but I'm not holding my breath, not with what I have seen of her so far.

Oil Sands Are Sexy Now!

Well, time for the eco-nuts to go over to Libya and tell Gaddafi to stop bombing oil rigs, it's bad for the environment, don't you know. Suddenly the Alberta oil sands are looking good to the US. Maybe we should tell them to stuff it! We won't, but they should be made to realize that they are not our only customers.

It has taken war in the Middle East to turn the tide of negative public opinion on the oil sands. After four years of beatings from the environmental movement that severely damaged Canada’s international reputation, the oil sands are re-emerging as a secure source of energy in a risky oil world.

New imagery helped a lot. The pileups of bodies in the evening news, victims of Middle East despots firing at their own people to protect their oil wealth, make the tar pits in northern Alberta look like responsible oil in comparison.

Move along little doggies, your time is done, we see you for what you are, and you are anti-commerce, anti-children and anti-intelligence.

David Wilkins, former U.S. ambassador to Canada and now a lobbyist in Washington for the Alberta and Saskatchewan governments, says the mood in the U.S. capital has changed noticeably in the past few weeks.

“People are listening more,” he said in an interview. “People are more focused on the source of energy coming from Canada, the fact that it’s a stable, friendly country.”

I always liked David Wilkins, you could tell he really liked Canadians. What has his replacement been doing? Anyone heard from him? Anyone even know what his name is? Crickets.

The idea of buying oil from irresponsible governments who use oil money to oppress the population is contrary to U.S. values, she said.

In contrast, “Americans see the values of Canada being aligned and have high opinions of the social structure, the environmental track record. And though they see environmental difficulties, they don’t see them out of scale to other sources of oil and they also see that given the size of the resource, the capital and the people involved, that these challenges can be addressed through technology.”

I guess Ezra Levant was right, our oil is ethical oil. How are the eco-nuts going to counter his book "Ethical Oil" now? When you hear that England is going to have blackouts because they are going to rely on wind power, you have to understand that the eco-nuts want us back in caves, freezing to death. They hate the technology that has allowed us to progress beyond being hunter/gatherers. Funny how they are the ones flying around the world protesting man's achievements, while we drudges stay home working and providing for our families.

“It’s the right place, right time for Canadian energy now,” said Mr. Wilkins, in Calgary this week to announce a partnership with Global Public Affairs, a top national government relations firm, and the South Carolina law firm of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, where he runs the public policy and international relations practice.

“Canada has got a lot to brag about, from its financial foundation, how it weathered the recession, to the vast sources of energy it has,” all re-enforcing the energy security message.

The change bodes well for pending legislation. Momentum is shifting in favour of approving the much delayed extension of TransCanada Corp.’s $13-billion Keystone Express pipeline system from the oil sands to the U.S. Gulf Coast. One Washington insider said the line is likely to get the go ahead by December, after the U.S. administration feels critics have been given enough time to vent their views.

As the middle east erupts, Canada sails on a steady course, with PM Harper at it's helm. If an election is caused by the opposition, it will show that they could care less about Canadians. They want power, and if that means a coalition, they will step on voters wishes to make sure they get that power.

Stop Funding Dictators And Despots!

Seriously, Africa has been a basket case for decades, and all the aid being poured into various countries on that continent has done nothing but support corrupt governments.

Here's a thought. Stop funding dictators and despots! I know that's radical and not very progressive. It might even be worthy of an HRC investigation for "hurt" feelings. Hope I have Ezra as my lawyer!

So much for Obama's allegiance to us

What did we do to earn this passionate indifference from our closest friend?
No other nation has shed proportionately as much blood in Afghanistan as we have, not even the magnificent British. Is there a more reliable friend, ally or generous trading partner than us? Have we not opened up our oil pipelines to them? Did we not go along with their foolish bailout of General Motors?
What more did we have to do for a mere vote?
So much for U.S. President Barack Obama’s allegiance. What about his own national interest? Would it not be to his advantage to have us on the Security Council with him, instead of a deeply indebted, socialist European country (but I repeat myself)? Portugal has a population smaller than Ontario’s and an economy smaller than Alberta’s.

Obama is the big pretender, he has been busy slapping down US allies and bowing to US enemies. I wait patiently for his wings to be clipped on Nov 2. I hope Americans take away his majorities in the Congress and the Senate.

What is happening with our taxpayer donations to foreign countries? How about this:

Ethiopia using Canadian aid as a political weapon, rights group says

The Canadian government says it is “deeply concerned” by a report that its foreign aid to Ethiopia is being used as a weapon to crush political dissent and bolster the power of the ruling party.
The federal government, which provided more than $150-million to Ethiopia in 2008, is calling for a full investigation into the allegations that Ethiopia’s ruling party is routinely using aid money to reward supporters and punish those who fail to support it.

Responding to questions on Tuesday, Mr. Cantin said Canada’s aid to Ethiopia can be suspended if the authorities fail to meet the conditions that are attached to the aid, including a pledge that the aid must reach the targeted beneficiaries.
Surveys by CIDA suggest that its aid is reaching those who need help, he said. “CIDA takes allegations of aid politicization seriously,” he said, “and together with the international community, will participate in efforts to strengthen safeguards where necessary.”

Maybe it's time for CIDA to be investigated! SURVEYS suggest???? I thought the CIDA was a hands on agency? They are going to close down the aid only now, after the scandal has come to light? Are they kidding us? We need to look at the CIDA and what they are doing with our money, and we need a strong Minister on the file. I know Bev Oda is an oriental female from Ontario so that makes her a politically prime candidate as a Minister, that doesn't mean she is competent.  She is weak in question period and obviously the civil servants at International Cooperation and CIDA are running the show. It's time to only give aid that we can distribute directly.

No more "surveys" CIDA, we want to see you on the ground in Ethiopia getting the aid to the people, not the corrupt government.

first - close down CIDA - they are useless bunch of self-serving idiots.
second - stop dealing with foreign govts
third - select a number of well known, well run Canadian NGO's (none with religious connections though - aid should not come with a religious string)
forth - give CIDA budget to NGO's
fifth - stand back and watch the job get done

The job being getting aid to where it is intended in a timely fashion to those who can help. Otherwords local NGO's (NOT churches btw). The NGO community knows each other and who can is efficient and who is not, who can be trusted and who can not.
I was on one assignment and a big cruise type river ship went past. The NGO's all looked and said 'There goes CIDA (staff)' - more concerned about their own creature comforts.
Two Cdn NGO's come to mind but this may not be the place to mention them

Interesting, even at the Globe and Mail, some comment's support my position. I disagree with the assertion that "religious" organizations should be excluded, if you look at who is really on the ground in those countries, it's not CIDA, it's the charitable organizations, often, church groups that raised the money to get there. Think back to Haiti. 

This is not about political parties or religious groups, it's about the aid that Canadian taxpayers give to help the poorest countries. That aid needs to reach those who really need it and not the dictators.  We can not continue to do things the liberal, progressive way, it's not working but try to explain that to the bureaucrats.

Stop funding dictators and despots! They not only stabbed Canadians in the back re the UN vote, they are happy to stab their own people in the back as well.

How ethical is this? What an eyesore! Deep gouges in the earth, no trees, tailing ponds, a blight on our earth. A non-renewable resource that is being dug up as fast as people are demanding it! The solution, environmentalists tell us is to stop production. I agree! If people would stop buying it, the companies would not be making obscene profits, and wildlife would not be threatened.
A new book by Ezra Levant called "Ethical Oil" makes the case that Alberta oilsands are the most ethical in the world. Why do environmentalists and greenies pick on Canada? If it's not our seal hunt they are japping about, it's the oilsands. Why have they been quiet about the Gulf oil spill? Why aren't they over in China protesting their coal mines? Why are they quiet about this:


All those pictures are not the Alberta oilsands, it's pictures of mining operations for granite! That very popular, must have kitchen countertop! Granite! It is a non-renewable resource, that companies in the US, Italy, Brazil and India, to name a few, are digging up as fast as they can to meet the ever increasing demand from households and businesses.



That's not the worse of it. Granite is actually dangerous.

“It’s not that all granite is dangerous,” said Stanley Liebert, the quality assurance director at CMT Laboratories in Clifton Park, N.Y., who took radiation measurements at Dr. Sugarman’s house. “But I’ve seen a few that might heat up your Cheerios a little.”

Allegations that granite countertops may emit dangerous levels of radon and radiation have been raised periodically over the past decade, mostly by makers and distributors of competing countertop materials. The Marble Institute of America has said such claims are “ludicrous” because although granite is known to contain uranium and other radioactive materials like thorium and potassium, the amounts in countertops are not enough to pose a health threat.

The E.P.A. recommends taking action if radon gas levels in the home exceeds 4 picocuries per liter of air (a measure of radioactive emission); about the same risk for cancer as smoking a half a pack of cigarettes per day. In Dr. Sugarman’s kitchen, the readings were 100 picocuries per liter. In her basement, where radon readings are expected to be higher because the gas usually seeps into homes from decaying uranium underground, the readings were 6 picocuries per liter.

So, forget granite countertops in my home. I wonder if Suzuki has granite in his homes? How about Green May?

I wonder when the environmentalists are going to start shouting about the radon in granite, it being a non-renewable resource, and how mining granite is killing the environment and destroying the natural habitat? Right..... I'm not holding my breath waiting, I prefer my cheerios cold and safe to eat.

Are The Conservatives Chicken?

Will they kill section 13? Under threat of an election, will they find their balls? Oops, I mean moral imperative.

I have been disappointed that the Conservatives have been too chicken to tackle the Human Rights Commissions, we accuse Liberals of being socialists, but why are the Conservatives cowering? They are hiding behind their voters hoping that nobody will rock the boat.

Well I say rock that boat!!! Shout it from the roof tops that "Freedom of Speech" is the most important component of our democracy. Without freedom of speech, Canada is doomed. Go to Ezra Levant blog, and read what he says. Here is just one example.

Sadly some MP's are more interested in getting elected than actually supporting "Freedom of Speech". They are more interested in their "image" than they are the people who vote for them. They have no clue what a blog is and what impact it might have in their ridings. They are neanderthals.

Time to show ALL MP's that blogs count and people are listening. If your MP is a neanderthal, phone him/her because email is beyond them.

Will the Conservatives finally grow some... and get rid of section 13(1)? My vote depends on it. To date my MP has given support for the idea of getting rid of section 13(1), I hope more MP's of all parties will understand the importance of getting rid of this discriminatory section of the HRC's.

Lynch: I've Fallen And I Can't Get Up!

I have finally gotten around to reading Ezra's book, "Shakedown". I'm only half way through it, but I expect to be done later tonight. It is an excellent read. I highly recommend it to all Canadians and all lovers of free speech!

Maybe because I am reading the book, some articles have caught my attention that normally might not have twigged with me.

School prayer charges stir protests
Educators face jail in Florida

Students, teachers and local pastors are protesting over a court case involving a northern Florida school principal and an athletic director who are facing criminal charges and up to six months in jail over their offer of a mealtime prayer.

.....An ACLU official said the school district has allowed "flagrant" violations of the First Amendment for years.

"The defendants all admitted wrongdoing," said Daniel Mach, director of litigation for its freedom of religion program. "For example, the Pace High School teachers handbook asks teachers to 'embrace every opportunity to inculcate, by precept and example, the practice of every Christian virtue.' "

Yikes, teachers are asked to practice Christian virtue and that's BAD? Well, obviously we can't have teachers telling their students that stealing is wrong, that murder is wrong, or that helping those less fortunate is good. I mean really, those Christian values are just so last year.

...Mr. Staver said the district also agreed to forbid senior class President Mary Allen from speaking at the school's May 30 graduation ceremony on the chance that the young woman, a known Christian, might say something religious.

"She was the first student body president in 33 years not allowed to speak," he said.

Here is where Ezra's fight with the HRC's comes to mind. The ALCU told the school that the class president couldn't speak because she is a known Christian and MIGHT say something religious. MIGHT????? Thought crime. Freedom of religion? Not so much. Disgusting. That is happening in the US, not Canada! No wonder the town halls are erupting. This profound change is going on because of lefty organizations like ACLU and Acorn, and lefty friendly media. I think change is happening, it's just not the change Obama anticipated.

Speaking of the HRC Lynch Mob....

Poor Jennifer had to make a taxpayer funded trip to Ireland to beg for lawyers to help her. She realizes that her credibility is nil, so she is asking lawyers, who have so much more credibility (HA) to take up the banner and fight for her organization, not the people who might be discriminated against.

Lynch told the gathering that opponents of rights bodies have successfully created a "chill" that makes it difficult for anyone to defend those bodies without also becoming a target.

Lynch, saying some criticisms have been "troubling" and "at times scary," also read out a graphic anonymous letter she received stating that she should be shot dead.

"I'm here to ask for your help," Lynch told CBA members, noting that academic experts, law school deans, and senior lawyers are among Canada's "most trusted sources of information" on public policy matters.

She urged them to write "letters to correct misinformation," encourage other experts to participate in the debate and promote public education of the role of rights commissions and tribunals in the justice system.

Lawyers are the "most trusted" sources of information?? What is she smoking? Lawyers are below politicians on the trust scale. If the attacks are so wrong, why didn't she ask the lawyers to sue all those people attacking the HRC's? What misinformation? The HRC's are so quick to convict innocent people, they should have no problem convicting those 2000 people they have on their "hit" list. If they are righteous fighters of human rights, why are they unable to defend what they do? Why have they not sued Ezra for all the misinformation in his book "Shakedown"?

Thought so, if there was one wrongly placed comma in Ezra's book, they would have been on it like flies on poop. What this affirms is that the Lynch's of the HRC's have overstepped their bounds and are now begging anyone, even lawyers, to help them get out of the mess they themselves created. Oh, how the crass little kingdom builders have fallen...and they can't get up!

The Big Shake UP!

Ezra is doing a great job of making the HRC's look like the fools they are. Now we need to press our provincial governments to shut them down or reform them.

Alberta seems to be leading the way. We will see if the changes are cosmetic or radical. I'm voting for radical.

I would like to thank Ezra for his defense of our rights. He is a true defender of human rights. I would also like to thank his family for helping him to be what we know him to be, a true defender of our rights.

Content Inappropriate!

You might know this blog for the "Best of QP.." videos that I do. Sometimes I do other videos on topics that interest me. Like yesterday I did a video on PM Harper and his comments that the Liberals were "screwing" all Canadians.

Seems a funny thing has happened to 2 of my 71 videos, all of a sudden, they have been rejected as "content inappropriate". Care to guess what topic they were on? No! Not porn, that would be the day. If you guessed FREE SPEECH, you would be right!

I had no clue that these videos had been rejected, no notice from Youtube. Thankfully a concerned reader, "rottendrew" emailed me and told me one of them had been banned, so I looked at all the videos and this is what I found:





Funny, both videos are about Ezra Levant and HRC's. Both have been rejected as "content inappropriate". So it seems that someone is targeting videos with Ezra's name, either in the title or in the labels. Someone is hi-jacking free speech!

I do not know who alerted Youtube about those two videos, and Youtube never sent me any notification that they had been "rejected". My account is still in "good standing", with no warnings showing. So, what gets a video rejected? Here's the rules:



As far as I can figure out, this is the section that got my videos banned:

We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. But we don't permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity).

So they banned two videos that were about free speech in Canada, even though they state that they "encourage free speech". Someone appears to be targeting either Ezra, or free speech, or both.

Anyone who knows how I can find out who got those videos banned, please e-mail me. Or if you know how to get them "unrejected", I would appreciate the help.

I'm thinking of re-posting those videos under new titles like "Crazy cat tricks" or "Happy Summer Days" to see if they also get banned. (If someone from the HRC's or CIC are reading this blog, have fun searching my account all you want, I just might have a friend who will repost them, without using Ezra's name. How are you going to be able to search out all the possible Youtube accounts for videos like "My dog chasing his tail"?)

This is serious, it appears someone is targeting free speech and Youtube is caving in to their demands.

Tribunals......

Creepy. Did the HRC's pick that name to intimidate people who come before them? Are we back into the witch hunting days? The guys in the judge suits appear to have power, and they drowned and burnt enough supposed witches to make people scared of them. Is that what is happening again? In this day and age?



Mr. Fine wants us to believe that the HRC's are for our own good. HA!! If you like oppression and the stomping of freedom of speech, this guy is for you! I do not need to be told what I can or can not say.

There can't be enough laws to deal with these issues...bet he wants to ban guns too. Typical lefty, no plan, no morals, just blind faith that Liberals know best!

Spreading Hate To Fight Hate!

I am a very staunch Conservative supporter, but I'm starting to get tired of a weak Conservative response to this issue. Where have all the "reformers" gone? This issue is going to blow up in the Conservatives face if they don't stop wimping out. Take a stand, please. At the very least, come out in support of the motion to get rid of section 18 of the HRC's.

This has now gone beyond a "blogger's" issue, and is hitting main street Canada. With Mike Duffy's coverage, this will only get bigger, it is not going to disappear.

I want to see the Conservative government come out of hiding on this issue, take a strong stance, and show Conservatives that they are not Liberal lites or Red Tories. They have all summer to educate the public on this issue, while the Liberals are educating us on why we should love a carbon tax.

Quit being sissies, we all know PM Harper didn't like the direction HRC's were going, so come out, come out, where ever you are, and quit hiding behind being the government, that just doesn't cut it with Canadians.
