Dang, I was on holidays when this all happened and so I missed all the fun! I wonder how many other people paid absolutely no attention to this dust up? Seeing as I know next to nothing about the issue, except as a Catholic, I really don't think it was such a big deal, I will link to some of my fellow bloggers who are way more knowledgeable than I am.
Always right on the mark, Blue Like You.
Our founder, Stephen Taylor.
One of my favorite blogs, Angry in the Great White North.
Start there, if you need more, many Blogging Tories covered the apology. Too bad the media is in cover up mode, it only hurts them more than if they were honest and apologized.
This type of media dishonesty makes me mad. I hope it wakes up voting Canadians to the fact that the media has an anti-conservative bias. That is the story, not the apology, although that was a great move, too bad it took 20 days.
No-one is going to remember this apology, the media has barely covered it. What has happened is that people are starting to clue in to the media bias, and the media is going to take a hit. So are the Liberals. PM Harper apologized very quickly to misinformation about Iggy, will Iggy be man enough to do the same? Are the Liberals going to endlessly look for that next Conservative "scandal"? Can a tiger change from stripes to spots? Don't think so, neither can the media.
Does anyone now wonder why the Prime Minister of our country has to go to the US to get a fair shake from the media? Can some journalists smell their own stink and actually start reporting the news? Stop making up scandals, start digging for the truth on this one. I suspect, it's not over. The Liberals have strong ties to many companies, too bad those companies can't contribute to them in real dollars anymore. Seems like the Liberals are using the media as a form of free advertising, and this one blew up in their faces.
Shame on the media. Even my kids know better than to lie.

Huntsy, what is the problem? The apology is in ALL the MSM outlets - Globe, Star, CBC, CTV, you name it. But then again, so is other news like the highest EI rate in Canada since 1997 and the departure of Kornkob from the PMO.
This situation was very disturbing Hunter because it's setting was at the funeral of a highly respected MP and GG.
Romeo LeBlanc, a Liberal did not deserve this pathetic sideshow and now with reports suggesting the LPoC and high ranking Liberal were behind it? Disgusting disrespect.
The moral fibre of someone capable of this deceitful behaviour is positively unfathomable.
Unfortunately, many in the media have deservedly been painted with the same brush. They dropped the ball, didn't investigate and are just as culpable, imho.
I don't see a flag. Do you see a flag?
Ya, I see a flag mystereeoso, it's red but in this case it should be white and very large.
"The moral fibre of someone capable of this deceitful behaviour is positively unfathomable."
It was a cracker! Get over it!
Oh, more flags, we need more flags!
(Good faux outrage though...do you watch faux news? I hear they moved Egypt)
"PM Harper apologized very quickly
to misinformation..."
Call it what it is. HE LIED!!!! He soooo wanted a gotcha moment that he couldn't resist going on an INTERNATIONAL stage, to try and stick it to Ignatieff. That is how petty Dear Leader is. But then, we all knew it didn't we?
"There was no credible support for these statements of fact at the time this article was published"
That was the quote from the St John Telegraph Journal. They didn't say it never happened, they just say that there was no credible support. Which probably means, that the Conservatives that saw Harper put the cracker in his pocket don't want to go on record.
You're right, SQ - the paper made a non-apology and covered its butt legally.
The salient point of the whole issue, to me, is not so much whether Mr. Harper did or did not dissolve the Host under his tongue but, rather, the media using the funeral of a great Canadian to score a sleazy political point. Now, before Stereo tries to change the channel by turning the heat back on Harper, let's just deal with this one issue.
Roméo LeBlanc died. He was a great Canadian in so many ways and he contributed to our country's well-being and reputation on the international stage. The funeral was a celebration of his life, a mourning of his passing, and a recognition for the man, himself.
I do not support the presence of the media, inside the church, during the funeral service. The presence of the media only serves to turn the focus away from the service, itself: some attendees use funerals as opportunities to self-promote or to be seen and the media uses it (as evidenced by this case) to score a sleazy politcal point or to increase rating. Journalists jockey for position, rush out to submit a scoop. All of this denigates the service and disrespects the departed. The media should never have been inside the church.
Then, to go and publish a story that has absolutely nothing to do with Roméo LeBlanc nor with actual news, was as low as you can go.
The non-apology completely skirts the real issue. Instead of respectfully reporting on the funeral and the great man's life, the media chose to use this gentleman's funeral as a way to score a cheap political victory which, in the end, turned out to be a defeat and a black mark.
I don't care how anybody feels - this whole issue was not just a cheap and feeble disrespect toward our PM but, rather, a huge disrespect toward Roméo LeBlanc.
"the paper made a non-apology and covered its butt legally."
...and FIRED an Editor.
Your point about Mr LeBlanc, being disrespected by the sleazebags, was my point as well, East.
Well said!
"That is how petty Dear Leader is"
Mysty and SQ - please head on home now, I think your mom called and said breakfast was ready.
The point is - for years we have been saying that the MSM is shilling for the Liberals and biased against the Conservatives. This is proof. They all did it - and the apology is NOT all over the other networks - maybe in small sound bytes at the end of newscasts or at the end of stories that have nothing to do with the actual apology (see the Ottawa Sun's Kathleen Harris who was reporting on the Communications Director leaving and then thoughtfully (sarc) put a small pararaph about the apology at the end of the story).
Yet they were all over the original story - every five minutes they were reporting on it. They had polls, they had ticker tapes running at the bottom of the screen.
All to take the eyes of Canadians away from the PM at the G8. With the Liberals and the MSM, it really doesn't matter who they throw under the bus - as long as it gets Harper! Well in this case, they threw one of their own - the LeBlanc's - kudos to Dominique for standing up for what is right.
"During my press conference I attacked Mr. Ignatieff for some things he had allegedly said about Canada in the G8...I learned shortly after the press conference this was not a quotation of Mr. Ignatieff. I regret the error and I apologize to Mr. Ignatieff for this error."
I know Kornkob is fed up with my behaviour but I still swear I did not see no flag.
ABG - though what you wrote is fantastique it is Dominic not Dominique.HA!
Re "and the apology is NOT all over the other networks"
you know how to use teh google right?

Mysty - I knew I had spelled it wrong - I did google and guess what - the name that came up was spelled that way - so i left it.
Go ahead - put Dominique Leblanc in your little search box and see for yourself.
Idiot....
http://ca.yhs.search.yahoo.com/avg/search?fr=yhs-avg-chrome&type=yahoo_avg_hs2-tb-web_chrome_ca&p=dominique+leblanc+mp
Mysty....I want the apology and subsequent back story to be replayed over and over and over and over for days, I want it to be headline news and I want EVERY reporter who gleefully took this story and ran with it to also apologize.
They are all standing back now doing their best to make this a one day story.
They all jumped on it and they all are just as guilty.
Waaaaaaaaaaaahwhwhwhwaaaaaaaaah ABG. You probably want the incredible videotape of the incident burned too.
PMSH when the story first broke:
“I think somebody running a story — and I don’t know where responsibility lies — somebody running an unsubstantiated story that I would stick communion bread in my pocket is really absurd....First of all, as a Christian, I’ve never refused communion when offered to me. That is actually pretty important to me … This is a low moment in journalism, whoever is responsible for this. It’s just a terrible story, and a ridiculous story, and not based on anything, near as I can tell.”
Do you hear any kind or respectful words for Romeo LeBlanc in that response?
It's all about Sweater Steve...
"Do you hear any kind or respectful words for Romeo LeBlanc in that response?"
Sigh...AS I said mysty...you are an idiot!!!
Let me spell it out for you.
For the Liberals and a Liberal newspaper to use the funeral of a Liberal MP's father to try to score brownie points by concocting a story is the disrespectful point. For the rest of the MSM to jump on it - make it headline news in their gleeful attempt to smear Harper is beyond the pale and speaks to the bias in the our media and the fact that they think nothing of denigrating a respectful ceremony for their own blatant purposes.
Disgusting!
The point being that great statesman Stephen Harper could have squelched the whole thing at the time by admonishing the press for petty speculations at a time of sorrow for the LeBlancs and he could have put the memory of Romeo LeBlanc in the front of everybody's mind. But that is not what Statesman Steve did, was it? His first reaction was to look for the person who was responsible for telling unsubstantiated stories and defending his own behaviour as a Christian - PMallaboutmeSH in action.
Ok ABG, you've called me an idiot twice. I sincerely hope you feel better about yourself for having done so.
"Ok ABG, you've called me an idiot twice. I sincerely hope you feel better about yourself for having done so."
I certainly do!
Idiot!
Now I feel even better
To coin a phrase......
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Some might say PMSH is reaping that which he has sown
"PM Harper apologized very quickly to misinformation about Iggy, will Iggy be man enough to do the same?"
Ignatieff should apologize on behalf of a newspaper?
"The salient point of the whole issue, to me, ... the media using the funeral of a great Canadian to score a sleazy political point."
Me too - kind of reminds me of using the tragic death of 4 innocent women to launch an attack on feminists.
"The point is - for years we have been saying that the MSM is shilling for the Liberals and biased against the Conservatives. This is proof."
Hey - remember during the last election when a CTV outlet had a reporter ask Dion a very poorly worded question that seemed to be designed to confuse someone whose fist language is not English by shifting tenses, and then refused to re-word the question, and then played the interview over and over again despite the fact they promised they would not do so, and then played on a certain program - the host of which is now one of the most rabidly partisan conservatives in the Senate? Remember how said network, reporter, and current Senator were found to have acted unethically? Remember how that little story was glommed onto by the CPC and distributed widely amongst the media, and is credited by some for reversing the momentum that seemed to be building for the LPC in the election since the debates?
Remember how little coverage the decision of the panel got in the media?
Good times, good time...
But hey - you point to this one little story, and apology by the newspaper in question as proof ALL the media are biased for the LPC. I have never known you to be a critical thinker AG. No point in starting now.
ABG needs help Gayle.
"For the Liberals and a Liberal newspaper to use the funeral of a Liberal MP's father...{

Got any proof of that AG?

" Lisa, most of us will remember the story that went all around the world about the prime minister apparently not eating the host when he was at the funeral of former governor general Romeo LeBlanc. That story was first published in the St John Telegraph Journal which is owned by the billionaire Irving family. The prime minister hit the roof. Well, today, a grovelling apology from the paper. They said the story was not true. So what happened? Well, I'm told that the Liberals passed the story to young Jamie Irving who was the publisher of the paper. He passed it to the editor who put it in the paper without checking it out, and today the editor has been fired, and Jamie's father has suspended his son for thirty days, and I'm told the prime minister is pretty thrilled with that."
The so called reporter Bob Fife at the 10:15 mark - (now if it were the original story, he would have been first off and there would have been ticker tape running at the bottom of the screen)
And BTW Gayle - the Dion question was NOT "poorly worded".
For example - Gayle, if you had been at the Leblanc Funeral, what would you have done differently? Pretty clear, huh.
"I'm told the prime minister is pretty thrilled with that"
Hahahahahaha!
"The point is - for years we have been saying that the MSM is shilling for the Liberals and biased against the Conservatives. This is proof."
Robert Fife of the Liberal shilling, Liberal biased MSM said so. This is PROOF!
Meanwhile conservatron MP Van Loan is out there musing to the Liberal shilling, Liberal biased MSM about honour killing and how it is
even worser than ordinary murder.
"Robert Fife of the Liberal shilling, Liberal biased MSM said so. This is PROOF!"
Well at least you admit it mysty!
"Seems like the Liberals are using the media as a form of free advertising, and this one blew up in their faces."
Wanted, New Kornkob for PMSH.
Mysty - what do honor killings have to do with the topic at hand???
You like the MSM whenever it says what you want to hear, ABG.If the MSM is so horrible why does th government advertise the action plan with them? Why do they launch their Iggy truth ads with them? Why is P Van Loan floating policy musings with them?
Who will be the next Kornkob? That's what I want to know. Or will Dimitri and Guy be handling everything from now on. Dimitri's not so good at fact checking mind you. Not that PMSH ever has to check the facts mind you. HA! Maybe Dodo will put in her resume and critique of Hegel.
Maybe Lee at conservatives4palin.com could apply for Kornkob's job. Would that be a conflict of interest?
ABG at Blue Like You:
"I want every reporter who gleefully jumped on this and made it headline news for days to also apologize. I want this story to be headline news for days. Most Canadians don’t read the back pages, or read to the end of one story to find the last paragraph talking about the apology, or listen to the whole newscast."
ABG must think those Canadians who don't read to the end of the story are yet somehow scouring the comments sections of conservatron blogs where versions of the same "commenters" opinions can be read over and over again with minor variations. ABG has a cookie cutter and she's using it! Come back Kornkob, comeback! HA!
Well, I'm told that the Liberals passed the story to young Jamie Irving who was the publisher of the paper.
No, it was Kory who manufactured and spread the "story". Why do you think he has now "resigned"?
It was just a typical CPC false flag operation. It was a "coordinated attack" like the terrorists prefer. You did notice that the Sawah Quitbull story was on exactly the same day? Or did you hope nobody would notice?
The far right extremists are on the run, and all they have left is to manufacture opportunities to cry "It's not fair!" and get enough sympathy that we'll let them run things again and gut our country.
You know that. I wonder which one of you is Kory anyway?
Hahahahahahaha!
HA!
''Hey - remember during the last election when a CTV outlet had a reporter ask Dion a very poorly worded question....''
note to Gayle,
difference is, the CPC did NOT fabricate a false story to smear Dion,
in this case the national networks are saying the LPC did.
Dion looked like a fool, just like Iffy did on EI360 whimp out.
So much for the American wannabe PM doing things differently, eh.
Iffy and the LPC have just proven themselves sneaky little snakes in the grass....
it looks soooooo good on them,
all of them!
Oh AG - that Fife "heard" something from un-named source is not proof, no matter how hard you try.
"And BTW Gayle - the Dion question was NOT "poorly worded"."
Poor AG - still clinging on to that notion, depsite the fact that an independent panel found otherwise.
But you know how I really know it was porrly worded? Because at the time this occured, all kinds of Joanne's little minions were posting their description of what the question meant, and then at the time the panel released its decision Raphael Alexander posted a completely different description of what the question meant - a description he found himself having to re-word several times.
Now if all of you people cannot come to some agreement on what it meant - how is the question clearly worded?
But you keep plugging your ears and going "na na na" every time something happens that you do not like.
ooo - wilson is back. Seems she finally found something she thinks she can crow about.
I especially love how she suddenly finds the CTV (national netword wilson, not networks) so very credible.
Funny that.
I also love this comment from "Liz" at Huntsy's fave blog, Angry in the Great White North:
"Keep on it, we all need to do so, this is serious stuff. At last the main stream media hacks inadvertently exposed themselves for all to see, they're buck naked. The very idea they would fly with a story they hadn't verified, report it repeatedly on news updates, is a scandal of major proportions because it was about OUR PM who was attending a funeral for a former GG.. IT WAS CLOSE TO SACRILEGE FOR THEM TO BE WATCHING FOR OR POSSIBLY PLOTTING SUCH A STORY, IT'S JUST TOO FAR FETCHED TO BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T PLAN IT. How else could they have even noted such a thing at a solemn funeral?"
Uh huh. What was that you were saying Mr. Wilson?
"difference is, the CPC did NOT fabricate a false story to smear Dion,"
Right you are Wilson, they fabricated a false story to smear Ruby Dhalla
"...at a solemn funeral?"
as opposed to a rip roaring funny funeral? God these people are as stupid as the people at FauxNews...
Gee Gayle, for someone who has pretty consistently taken the 'doing the right thing' approach,
I really am surprised at you.
The LPC fabricated a smear, the LibLuvin media ran with it, took it to the international stage to embarrass our Prime Minister.
That is so obviously wrong on every level.
I'm not crowing, in fact, I'm not even upset with the revelation that members in the media fabricated a story about PMSH.
This kinda crap has been going on since the Reform days, the only surprise is that someon admitted to it.
I know one thing FOR SURE.
If someone in the CPC did something like this, PMSH would fire his/er ass out the door so fast Bob Fife's head would spin.
I'm waiting to see what kind of a man Iffy is.
He does nothing, it means he knew, and it's all over for him.
Over and out.
Gone.
''Right you are Wilson, they fabricated a false story to smear Ruby Dhalla''
LOL,
rewriting history mystery!
Is what you do best.
Think coup. Hahahahahahahahahaha!
wilson is Kory
"If someone in the CPC did something like this, PMSH would fire his/er ass out the door so fast Bob Fife's head would spin."
Hahahahahahaha! Kornkob is that you?
HA!
What's a member in the media?
Is that like a member in the Blogging Tories? Was Kornkob a member in the media or a member in the PMO? A member in oil? Or just a member? I will remember Kornkob as a member wilson. I swear I will.
"ABG must think those Canadians who don't read to the end of the story are yet somehow scouring the comments sections of conservatron blogs where versions of the same "commenters" opinions can be read over and over again with minor variations"
Are you really serious, mysty. That is why I want to other networks to apologize as well - of course most "canadians" don't read blogs. Which is exactly what the MSM hope for so that they can sweep their complicity under the rug.
"No, it was Kory who manufactured and spread the "story".
Just more of the same lies LS
I believe it was Dimitri Soutas (name may be spelled wrong, so don't jump in and correct it)
I believe it was Dimitri Soutas (name may be spelled wrong, so don't jump in and correct it).
It had to be one or the other. The whole "pocketing wafer" story was just too ludicrous to be real, and not a plant by the PMO. Thanks for confirming, AG.
Sigh.....You people are too thick for words.
Let me spell it out for you.
The whole kerfuffle over Iggy supposedly saying something and Stephen Harper - apologizing immediately - was as a result of Dimitri - not Kory giving him false info.
Sigh.....You people are too thick for words.
Let me spell it out for you.
The whole kerfuffle over Iggy supposedly saying something and Stephen Harper - apologizing immediately - was as a result of Dimitri - not Kory giving him false info.
Yes.
And "wafer gate" was a result of Kory, not Dimitri, giving false info to the media.
You see, the PMO is full of liars and dirty tricks artists.
You are obfuscating.
Soudas honey, with a d.
Try to spell things right. It will enhance your pleasure and sense of complete morally superior indignation when calling others idiots
Play up. It will improve your game.
"And "wafer gate" was a result of Kory, not Dimitri, giving false info to the media"
Speaking of liars - unless you have actual "proof" of that, I maintain my opinion of you and your ilk.
Speaking of liars - unless you have actual "proof" of that, I maintain my opinion of you and your ilk.
Unlike your willingness, without a shred of evidence, to believe the Liberals were involved.
You merrily and obliviously walked right into that one, AG.
Hahahahahahahahaha!
"depsite the fact that an independent panel found otherwise."
Gayle - do you ever have an opinion that's yours? Who cares what the "independent" panel "found"? That question was dead easy.
Did YOU find it hard? No, not a panel or expert, Gayle...YOU. Did YOU find it incomprehensible?
Wafergate is the result of the socially awkward PM's behaviour on camera - followed by his inability to simply say yeah, that was awkward. I'm not Catholic and I wasn't sure what I should do at the funeral. All he had to do was ask Canadian's forgiveness for his clumsiness and ask them to send kind thoughts to the LeBlancs. Easy Breezy.
East I think you might be the only one wondering again.
"any proof of that AG?" To paraphrase Stereo/LS/Myron/Myra: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
"Did YOU find it hard? No, not a panel or expert, Gayle...YOU. Did YOU find it incomprehensible?"
Ha Ha
Maybe she did East, she is still trying to figure out my question about the LeBlanc funeral and what she would have done if she had attended.
You know, East, given that English is Dion's second language, I could have accepted that the didn't understand it the first time, but when it was explained and explained and explained and he still didn't get it, well let's just say CTV had an obligation to show just the kind of person who was running to lead our country.
BTW - if he had understood after the first explanation, this would be a moot discussion because CTV would NEVER have aired his confusion and we would have never even known it happened.
If Gayle offers an opinion, you ask for proof. If she offers objective fact, you demand opinion. Make up your mind.
""...at a solemn funeral?"
as opposed to a rip roaring funny funeral?
Well, SQ - at one time I would have thought the same thing but...years ago, while still living in Winnipeg, I attended a Mennonite funeral (the father of one of my colleagues) and I had a great time. I was accustomed to Anglican funerals, Ukrainian Orthodox funerals, Lebanese funerals - lots of darkness and crying. At this one, I was very surprised to hear the Pastor telling humourous stories of the deceased.
The totally celebrated his life and his journey into God's eternal kingdom. The food was incredible, too.
I returned to work and when people asked me how it was, I just had to be honest and tell them that I had a really great time. When I go, I hope people have a rip-roaring good time celebrating my life...or just ignore my passing. But a solemn funeral? No. Don't want that.
When I go, I hope people have a rip-roaring good time celebrating my life...or just ignore my passing. But a solemn funeral? No. Don't want that.
I hope to become Irish before I die, then I can be the guest of honour at a great wake!
I thought the Mennonites were a serious group. Who knew?
Anglican and RC funerals...the worst...
SQ - there are different groups among Mennonites. Some are very staid and conservative - no dancing, singing, smoking, drinking, etc. and others are like any other evangelical group. There is a whole range. Many Mennonites who move away from areas like Kitchener-Waterloo, Manitoba, Southern BC switch over to Methodist or Baptist.
RC and Orthodox funerals are terrible - that incense is enough to kill you. To this day, I hate the smell of incense. My parents grew up Greek Orthodox (one of the big religions in Lebanon) and my mother would never let us burn incense or put anything black in our home - her father lay in state in their home - incense, flowers, priests, black everywhere.
I asked my lawyer to instruct my survivors that I do not want a funeral when I go. Nor do I want to be buried. For all I care, my ashes can be dumped in the bin.
I sat through a two-day mass for my best friend when I was only 26 - turned me right off the Orthodox church.
LS - as I understand it, the wake is not the funeral, itself. I could be wrong, though, never having attended an actual wake. Sounds like a great time.
I dont care if the Prime Minister ate the Host or not.
I dont care who told what to whom.
I dont care whether or not it was a Liberal who tipped off the Irvings.
What i DO care about is the trustworthiness of the newspaper.
They inserted allegations into a report as though it had come from a reporter(S). That is not in dispute.
In this case, it seems that the reporters stood up for what was right.
In how many cases has that not happened?
I'm disappointed in you East
Lee@conservatrons4palin - ask Sawah who should replace Kornkob and get back to us.
Lee: Who quotes The Moonie Times and Pam(look at my tits) Geller on his blog.
Hahahahaha! Credibility Lee, credibili
"The LPC fabricated a smear, the LibLuvin media ran with it, took it to the international stage to embarrass our Prime Minister.
That is so obviously wrong on every level."
Well, actually from what I understand, all you know is that someone told Fife that "the liberals" (who, exactly? because I assume it was not each and every person in the liberal party) passed "the story" (what story - what exactly was said?) and the paper ran with it.
If indeed, someone from the LPC maliciously and deliberately made something up, then that person should be fired. Sadly for you, there is not one shred of evidence to suggest your allegation is true.
For all we know, if someone from the LPC said anything at all (and remember, Fife is relying on hearsay), it could have been a simple matter of asking the editor to look at the same video that has been circulating the internet - you know, the one that made it appear as though Harper pocketed the wafer? - and allowed said editor to draw his own conclusions.
Parties leak this kind of information to the media all the time in the hopes the media will run with it (the Bloc leaking Bernier's silly choice of girlfriends is another example). The CPC do this too.
But it would not be like you to wait for all the facts to come out before you exaggerate what you do know, would it wilson?
East of Eden at Blue Like You today:
"You do realize that by making such an issue out of this indicates a number of things. It indicates that, by making this an issue, you can find no fault with how our PM is running the country."
How East draws this conclusion would be extremely interesting to know.
"It indicates that you are small-minded because you jump on this one issue which has absolutely nothing to do with running the country."
It indicates a lack of protocol awareness to say the least.
"It indicates that you are sheep – you are following the lead of a Liberal-leaning, lying media publication and cannot actually think for yourself."
Indicates again eh? Once again enquiring minds must know - how does East arrive at this conclusion?
"It indicates that you are not employed but, rather, living off of somebody else or off the taxpayer because…if you were working and productive, you’d be far more concerned with how the economy is doing, the state of your finances, your career future…etc. rather than this non-issue."
Of course, that must be the answer! HA! Well no. It indicates that East is too lazy to form counter arguments of any merit and resorts all too quickly to personal attacks, concluding with a stroke of sheer genius that if you are critical of PMSH it MUST be because you are jobless and on EI yet uncaring about the way the country is being run and oblivious to the state of your own finances.
Do they at least give you guys yoga balls to sit on while you write this kind of dreck?
Stereo - get help. You are totally obsessed with us - especially Hunter and myself. You either need to get a job or to get real help. And Gayle thought I was obsessed with her? Good grief - I couldn't hold a candle to Stereo when it comes to being obsessed.
Stereo - you are my first cyber-stalker. I only wish it was Cindy Crawford and not you who was stalking me. I feel kind of cheated that my first cyber-stalker is a smarmy little creep and not a gorgeous woman like Cindy Crawford.
"if you are critical of PMSH it MUST be because you are jobless and on EI yet uncaring about the way the country is being run and oblivious to the state of your own finances."
In the midst of idiocy, my stalker gets it right for the first time. You betcha, my sweet little cyber-stalker.
So, SQ and Stereo:
I gather that my point was well received since you dont dispute it.
You did get the point didnt you?
I know, its asking a lot.......
"Did YOU find it hard? No, not a panel or expert, Gayle...YOU. Did YOU find it incomprehensible?"
Why are you so sad?
That "panel of experts" was a panel convened to hear a complaint that CVT and Mike Duffy acted unethically. They concluded that they did act unethically.
You can try to spin this on me not "thinking for myself" but that is just not the case here my friend. Raising this decision is like raising a decision from a court of law - the people enpowered to make the decision did so on the evidence before them.
(though I remain amused at your distate for relying on the opinions of people who know what they are talking about...)
In any event, I have said already the question was confusing. What tense was he referring to?
And despite AG's total lie, the reporter did not, in fact, clarify the question. He merely repeated it.
When you have to make things up to support your point, you really do not have one.
East, East, East
You are obsessed with someone when you decide to post something that only discusses your opinion of that person - as you have been wont to do with me over and over and over again.
Pointing out how silly your conclusions are is not evidence of obsession. It is evidence of good sense.
So, SQ and Stereo:
I gather that my point was well received since you dont dispute it.
You did get the point didnt you?
I know, its asking a lot.......
Your point is moot. Articles are edited all the time. In this case the paper fell for allegations spread by Kory Teneycke, and now cemented by Fife.
Obviously, this is all in preparation for the August appointments.
Senator Fife.
Senator Tenycke.
Senator Irving.
The fix is in.
Lee, nor did you get our respective points. Could be a Canadian thing. You know Sawah is not Canadian right?
East, to be fair, Huntsy's post today directs us all to read posts on the subject written by her fellow, more knowledgeable bloggers. I followed the links! What do I find? Alberta Girl posting almost exactly he same comments here as there like a robot. And Lo and behold there's East of Eden pontificating and whining about people who don't agree with him. It's Eskimo's job to say such things here at Huntsy's. But I see it doesn't bother you one bit to say such ridonkulous things either.
Gayle - nice avoidance techinique. You still didn't answer the question. As for Stereo - please - the guy is going nuts over Hunter and me. Even you can see it.
But, then again, you would never find fault with a non-Conservative nor give your own opinion.
As for distaste of "experts" - not at all. I have great respect for some experts and none for others.
As for the Dion question - really, it was a no-brainer of a question and a panel of experts was totally unecessary. After 18 years in Parliament, he was quite capable of understanding the question. He just didn't want to answer the question.
Oh, and it seems that you are obsessed with Alberta Girl. No matter what she says, you jump all over her.
And I do post comments that have to do with subject matter - amazingly, SQ and I have had a couple of days of reasonable dialogue. Why, you may ask? Well, he doesn't go off on tangents and dig up all sorts of posts by the host. Nor does he do that hahahahaha thing all the time.
Heck, Gayle, one or two times, I've actually fallen in line with something you've posted.
I still find you obnoxious but at least you're not hysterical like my little cyber-stalker.
At least, East of Eden, you could honour Huntsy. If you're going to make comments on a blog she is recommending kindly say something astute. Your argumentation skills are embarrassing to the intelligence of the nation.
Good Grief - the usual suspects really are obsessed with this blog aren't they. I rarely see them anywhere else in the blogesphere?
"And despite AG's total lie, the reporter did not, in fact, clarify the question. "
Um Gayle - the "interviewer" did in fact repeat the question - albeit in a different manner. What I meant was the assistant off camera giving a minute long explanation of the question which Dion still did not get.
Besides - just because you have a panel who said that the question was not clear doesn't mean it wasn't clear to the vast number of Canadians.
I mean, Gayle, I understood it perfectly the first time I heard it. If you say you didn't then I really have to question how you can do the job you profess to do.
"You still didn't answer the question."
Your question is irrelevant - but if you really want to know you can find my take on the wording of the question and what it meant by looking at Joanne's blog the day this happened, or at RA's site the day the ruling came down.
"...it was a no-brainer of a question and a panel of experts was totally unecessary..."
Snort. Of course you think it was "unecdessary". Sadly for you, some media personnel take their ethics seriously, and when neither CTV nor Duffy offered an apology for their unethical behaviour, a complaint was made and a ruling ensued.
You just don't like it; which is also irrelevant.
"...the "interviewer" did in fact repeat the question - albeit in a different manner."
No - he repeated the question in the SAME manner.
"just because you have a panel who said that the question was not clear doesn't mean it wasn't clear to the vast number of Canadians"
I assume you have some proof that "the vast number" of Canadians understood the question?
Were they all Canadians who speak English as a second language?
Funny how you completely ignore the fact that many of your own cohorts have different understandings of what the question meant. Not that I blame you, because if you acknowledge that you would have to actually accept my point, and we both know you prefer covering your ears and going "na na na".
But I have to admire you AG - you never allow the facts to get in your way!
"But I have to admire you AG - you never allow the facts to get in your way!"
As do you Gayle, as do you.
BTW - you never did answer MY question?
East of Eden, here at Huntsy's June 25, 2009:
"Stereo - let me assure you that I think very critically and I analyze most things every which way from Sunday. Unlike some people who comment on Conservative blogs (not referring to you), I use my life experience, education both in and out of the classroom, my own intuitive and analytical abilities...all to come up with what I feel is an informed and well-rounded opinion. Many times, I will change my opinion if another person comes up with something which I find more logical than mine or I will incorporate opposing views into my view. It's all about keeping an open mind. Those who exist on Conservative blogs simply to argue, put down, or issue sock puppet speaking points are totally irrelevant and deserve nothing in terms of credence or respect."
East of Eden today at Blue like You:
"You do realize that by making such an issue out of this indicates a number of things. It indicates that, by making this an issue, you can find no fault with how our PM is running the country. It indicates that you are small-minded because you jump on this one issue which has absolutely nothing to do with running the country. It indicates that you are sheep – you are following the lead of a Liberal-leaning, lying media publication and cannot actually think for yourself. It indicates that you are not employed but, rather, living off of somebody else or off the taxpayer because…if you were working and productive, you’d be far more concerned with how the economy is doing, the state of your finances, your career future…etc. rather than this non-issue."
"Your question is irrelevant - but if you really want to know you can find my take on the wording of the question and what it meant by looking at Joanne's blog the day this happened, or at RA's site the day the ruling came down."
Nice Gayle. Still didn't answer the question. However, I'll cut you some slack - AG was ahead of me and you still have not answered her question.
Gayle, Gayle, Gayle. Such a sidestepper, channel-changer you are. I do admire your skill at avoiding direct questions or blinding yourself to truth. It must be nice to be able to customize your own personal reality. I once worked with somebody like that - she was a nice person but really not somebody with whom one could carry on a rational and intelligent conversation. Go in peace, my child.
Stereo - you're following me across the blogosphere? That's obsession. That's obsessive stalking. Get help, my child.
What question AG?
East - I told you where to find the answer. It is not my fault you are too lazy to go and look.
But I am amused about you accusing me of deflecting when you are the one asking a question that is totally irrelevant as a means to deflect.
Oh oh - East is starting to use that "my child" thing again, and I noticed AG using "sweetie".
That only happens when they are getting mad. You guys should try to calm down. That kind of anger management problem could lead to heart attacks.
East, I merely quoted from your dialogue with me in a thread here on June 25th - that was a scant few weeks ago. Or are you afflicted with some sort of social amnesia? I know it must be hard to be contradicted with your own words, but you seem to hold conflicting ideas about a whole host (pun) of things. One minute you refer to me as a smarmy little creep and the next, as Gayle points out, you're calling me your child. You perceive yourself as a critical thinker but your commentary at Blue Like You suggests, well, otherwise. Sorry. There is a sociological term for your dilemma . It's called cognitive dissonance.
Gayle, sweetheart. It's not a matter of being lazy - it's a matter of not having the inclination or time to do your work for you. So, my dear child, you once again didn't answer my question. But nice try to deflect the blame on to me.
As for anger - Gayle, sweetheart, I don't do "anger". That's you, my child.
"What question AG?"
Gayle - I am not going to do your work for you - go back and figure it out.
Sound familiar Gayle?
We'll miss EofE, AG, Bec and of course Eskimo when they are appointed to the Senate next month. They have clearly demonstrated all the qualifications that Steveo requires.
Say hi to Fife and Duffy will you?
Hahahahaahahahaha!
Why don't we all chip in a looney and buy Alberta Grill access to Teh Google. She obviously went for the cheap internet package...
"...it's a matter of not having the inclination or time to do your work for you."
So now when you demand I do something, it becomes MY work? Too funny.
You want an answer - you do the work.
Same goes for AG.
Nice try though.
"As for anger - Gayle, sweetheart, I don't do "anger". That's you, my child."
Snort
When is the next meeting that will take the PM out of Canada and what will the media do to create a non-issue scandal to detract from him.
Maybe we could have a poll on what lies will the media come up with.
Isn't it strange that not one of the networks has apologized for jumping on this fake story. And they expect us to believe anything they say or print again.
Who was the liberal who planted this story.
And, is there any video of Iggy at that funeral, even a head shot. Is that another planted story that he was there, after all I didn't see him, must mean he wasn't there.
MaryT at Blue Like You today:
"I think the best response of the LeBlanc family would be for Dominic to cross the floor, and denounce the liberals and the biased media."
Oh why, oh why Kornkob, why leave now?
What? I'm going to the Senate,LS?
Imagine, a Blog posting on Wafergate in the AM, becoming a genuine Senate position by the PM.
I need to check in LESS often. I may soon be APPOINTED leader of the conservative party.
Mary: Haven't you been paying attention?
Bec
If Sweater Steve can be leader, so can you!
"So now when you demand I do something, it becomes MY work? Too funny."
And yet.....
"East - I told you where to find the answer. It is not my fault you are too lazy to go and look."
Sigh - poor AG. I told East where to get the information that HE was seeking.
Get it? He wanted an answer. When he wants an answer, why does it become MY responsibility to get it for him?
Thanks for playing anyway...
"Imagine, a Blog posting on Wafergate in the AM, becoming a genuine Senate position by the PM."
Worked for Duffy - why wouldn't it work for you?
I'm not Duffy?...
Lighten up Gayle! Sheesh!
Gayle's just a bit angry Bec; she gets herself all tied up in knots - making demands and then demanding that we answer questions, yet refusing to answer questions asked of her, yet demanding that we produce those questions again.
Confused?......that's debating Gayle!
You can forget about Gayle answering a direct question. Remember her 'prove a negative' cop out a while back?
I'm still waiting for her to admit that she likes to troll conservative blogs while on the taxpayer payroll.
"Lighten up Gayle! Sheesh!"
Take your own advice my friend. I was making a joke.
Sheesh is right.
Oh, and I notice AG is lying again...
It's sad really.
Eskimo - could you please prove that you are not a women hating satan worshipping wife beater?
Thanks
Actually Eskimo - you do not have to prove you do not worship satan. I am pretty sure you don't.
But I am with LS here - this entire so-called scandal was fabricated by Kory.
OF course, you can always just prove me wrong...
So Iggy's official word is this
"“This is nonsense. We didn’t record the videotape – CPAC did. And as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Canadians need only look at the video on You Tube to see what happened.”
The CPAC tape is here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94msCdMBGMY
Now you tell me just how the tape that the Liberals are slogging around has that priest who blocks Harper for several seconds missing.
They wouldn't be lying now would they?
I guess I got my answer. There you are folks, your tax dollars at work.
While she should be busy saving the street children from mean-spirited conservatives, Gayle twiddles at her computer on taxpayer time spewing her socialist pap.
Oh and by the way sweetie, the wife beating/women hating and satan comments were delightful. So predictable and such a quintessential characteristic of a frumpy left wing hag on the losing end of the arguement.
I trust you will be clocking in early tomorrow morning to make up for all that lost time you are indebted to the taxpayer for, right cupcake? The guilt must be ripping away at you.
How is it that you can save the world, waste time and be den mother to mysterymeat all at the same time?
Oh oh - now I made Eskimo mad ("sweetie" and "cupcake" are dead giveaways)
Hey Eskimo - where do you work, how much do you get paid and what is your SIN? I assume since you have never mentioned having a job you must be on welfare or living on the street - either that or you work under the table. Hey - maybe you are a drug dealer!
Gee - jumping to conclusions about the fact someone is unwilling to share personal information with anonymous people (particularly hostile ones) is fun!
Once again, by her refusal to answer a direct question confirms that Gayle has indeed visited this blog while on company time at her government funded job.
It wasn't too hard to figure out Gayle. You've posted here duing regular working hours. Unless you run back home every time you have the urge to post your drivel, once again you are wasting company time at taxpayer expense.
Now hop over to Hunter's new post and enlighten us all how the murdered woman is a victim of conservative idealology.
