One More Brick Falls....

On progressive heads. They are stunned but not out, yet! All around the world, leaders are coming out and declaring that multiculturalism does not work.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared Thursday that multiculturalism had failed, joining a growing number of world leaders or ex-leaders who have condemned it.

"My answer is clearly yes, it is a failure," he said in a television interview when asked about the policy which advocates that host societies welcome and foster distinct cultural and religious immigrant groups.

"Of course we must all respect differences, but we do not want... a society where communities coexist side by side.

He is not the first one to declare multiculturalism dead:

British Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Australia's ex-prime minister John Howard and Spanish ex-premier Jose Maria Aznar have also recently said multicultural policies have not successfully integrated immigrants.

Merkel in October said efforts towards multiculturalism in Germany had "failed, totally."

Will Canada listen and save itself? I think we can if we continue to elect the Conservatives, they are our only defense against the feel good lefties open up the borders (world) strategy. This is a serious issue for Canada. Do we want immigrants coming here and expecting to live like they did in their old country, or do we want immigrants to blend into our society while maintaining their traditions?

I think our younger generation will be our saviours. They have been going to school with all races and it has made them inclusive. What has been happening is that the immigrant children are being absorbed into our society, and want to be Canadians. On any given weekend we have kids visiting us from Korean, Chinese, Philippian, Ukrainian and Polish backgrounds. They all think of themselves as Canadian, no matter what country they or their parents came from. We have found that pizza is the universal language of kids.

How can multiculturalism work when the French and English of Canada are still not united? How can we demand that immigrants conform and integrate, when we have Quebec voting for separatists? Unfortunately, a group of grade nine students from Alberta, who paid good money to visit Quebec, found them arrogant and unfriendly. This will shape their feelings for years to come.

Immigrants need to integrate into the Canadian landscape, not come here and demand we change our laws to accommodate them. You want a better life here in Canada? Leave your old fights behind and come in peace.

Wish I had your confidence in Harper and the Harper party.

Maybe Harper will renounce multiculturalism and global warming at the same time?
My vote awaits.

I don't know why you call these people "leaders". We, the knuckle-dragging rabble, the ones not attached to any self-interested special interest group, have been railing against official multiculturalism for over a decade. These people are not leaders, they are simply trying to elbow their way to the front of the parade hoping that most of us will give them credit for something that they haven't earned.

What will the politically correct "society" do now?
