Christmas, It's About Your Inner Soul!

Last year I had to tell my youngest that Santa was a myth, he was 11 and in danger of being laughed at by his more "informed" buddies for still believing in Santa. Maybe we did too good a job of convincing them that Santa was real. We left red felt in the door, with footprints up to it, and had my brother call posing as Santa, telling them to get to bed. I kind of miss those days when my children believed in a great guy who would give them presents if they were good. Blackmail, maybe, but in the nicest way with the best of intentions.

Yet, every year as Christmas approaches, my step gets lighter, my workmates seem nicer, and problems aren't quite as worrying. Life starts to sparkle, my husband is more attractive than ever, and my kids are angels...........OKAY, that WAS a little over the top! HA!

I might have exaggerated, but no one can deny that Christmas brings out the best in humanity. Listen to this song, whether you like Celine or not, she does a beautiful job.

Let's not forget our pets: This little guy is very cute!

Can you feel it? This is a very special time. It crackles in the air, you can just about smell it, and if you think that Christmas is just another holiday, I feel sorry for you.

Christmas makes you think about how great it is to be alive. It makes you want to help others that do not have as much as you do, and it makes you rejoice in the fact that we Canadians are a very lucky group of individuals to live in the best country in the whole world! It make you realize how much our troops give everyday to keep Canada free.

I want to thank all of my readers for taking the time out of their busy days to come here and read my point of view. Thank you for commenting and engaging in the issues that concern all of us.

Merry Christmas to you and may that little spark you feel at Christmas carry over into the New Year!

Many years ago my youngest son was telling his sister that I know there is no Santa, but don't let mom and dad know, cause you wont get any presents from him.
Merry Christmas to all.

God Bless, Hunter - and all of my fellow conservatives - it is heartwarming to know that we are strong and vibrant and on the side of what is good and right.

Thank you too, for your blog. While I often mock and ridicule you for being so catastrophically wrong on so many issues (in my opinion), I respect the amount of work you put into this blog. Most of it appears original, so I know you are putting a lot of effort into it. I certainly couldn't find the time to do it.

Meanwhile, on the current topic, my older brothers never let on about Santa Claus, because they had too much fun helping me prepare for Santa's visit, and then preparing evidence of the visit after; the munched cookies, the empty glass of milk, and the note about how he gave some to the reindeer. I shared a room with one brother, and he'd make sure I was too scared to leave the room while the other brother was making little sounds around the house with the sleighbells, banging on the chimney, rustling of wrapping paper and stockings and even some barely audible "ho ho ho"'s. One year he even threw stones up on the roof so I heard something that could be hooves in the snow up there.

Merry Christmas to you and your family and of course everyone here, even you maryt! And East, AG, Gabby and Teddi.

Thanks Hunter for your hard work here!

Looking forward to locking antlers with the trolls in the New Year!

To the non-believers, happy qwanza or whatever it is you celebrate!

LS, thank you! We can agree to disagree, but in our hearts, we would never really hurt anyone because of politics.

Christmas is magical, it's a time to rejoice in being alive. Thank you all, and enjoy your time with family.
