Sometimes It's The Small Things....

That makes your heart sing!

For once Air Canada gets something right for it's customers, or because of it's customers demands!

Air Canada flight idled for Olympic hockey fans

VANCOUVER — Travellers the world over know the pains of flight delays - due to fog, weather, late pilots, or just plain busy airports.

But only in Canada would a flight get delayed for a hockey game.

Air Canada president Calin Rovinescu told a Vancouver business gathering that one of his company's scheduled flights sat on the tarmac as passengers finished watching the men's gold medal match between Canada and the U.S. on the final day of the Olympic Games.

He said travellers on the Montreal-bound flight just couldn't be persuaded to board the plane while play continued.

Instead, they watched the heartstopping hockey game being broadcast on airport departure screens.

Passengers on board Air Canada flights around the world during the Canada-U.S. showdown were kept apprised of the score by the flight crew, who were receiving real-time updates from operations control.

The spirit of the Olympics is not dead, even if our politicians keep trying to kill that feeling with nonsense issues. They can't. It has moved into our hearts and sings through our veins and could be unstoppable. Canada today is not the same Canada as before the Olympics. We are a changed country. A better country.

I admit that I have an addiction to the Olympics. I sit on the edge of my chair and cheer for every Canadian who is competing. I live vicariously through them for 17 or 18 days. I try to reach into the water to push our competitors closer to the finish line. I stop breathing while our athletes are racing around the skating oval and I can see they are within a hundredth of a second to winning. I cheer when they win, and I cry when they try so hard, but don't quite make the podium. They become real for me, and for everyone in Canada. They make us proud, they allow us to shout and wave the flag.

They unite the east and the west, and they make us realize what a wonderful country we live in. Remember to cheer on our paralympic athletes with the same enthusiasm we cheered for our able bodied athletes. Think about the extra effort our paralympic athletes have to go through to achieve their goals.

Sometimes it's the small things, like an Air Canada flight delayed because of a hockey game, that makes your heart sing.

Oh man, Gayle is over at Taylor's blog making a total fool out of herself. It's kind of like watching a train wreck.

I wonder where Gayle went to. (Not that I really give a @#$%) Judging from her performance over at Steve's site, she sure does prove the adage that liberalism is indeed a mental disorder!

I haven't seen her here for awhile, same with liberal supporter and all his various other names, it's nice and peaceful.

Maybe they are converting to conservatism and are not ready to "come out". HA!

Gayle seems to roam other Conservative blogs which leads me to wonder if she is actually employed. If she is employed, she's sure not doing much work. It's hilarious winding her up - it's kind of mean of me, really. She's so easy to wind up or set spinning in the wind but it's just so much fun. LOL.

LS has surprised me on more than one occasion when he's posted a rational and informative comment. But, unfortunately, he negates his rationality when he does a Stereo on us.
