The Desperate Know No Borders!

Alberta complains about being screwed by the Feds. Newfoundland complains about being screwed by the Feds. Quebec complains about being screwed by the Feds. There comes a time when Canadians have got to stop naval gazing, and start opening their eyes to what is going on in other nations.
We are learning more about Afghanistan, but what about those people in Africa that also need our help?

Crumbs all that's left in Africa breadbasket

Two months ago, Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe's 83-year-old leader, ordered stores to slash the rising prices of basic commodities to such levels that manufacturers could no longer turn a profit.

The result: They stopped producing their goods, leaving supermarket shelves barren and the populace hungry.

Two weeks ago, a 29-year-old security guard from the town of Mutare reportedly stabbed a colleague to death because he thought the man stole his 22-pound bag of cornmeal.

The country's inflation rate - the world's highest - topped the 7,000% mark in July.

When delivery trucks do arrive at shops, droves of people appear instantly, forming lines that wrap around streetcorners.

"We must queue two hours for bread," said a 25-year-old security guard, waiting on a line outside one of the city's major supermarkets. "Two hours for bread! This country has big problems, my friend."

Look, my Dad is 80, but I wouldn't trust him to rule a country.

What bothers me is that the media is more interested in Dion meeting with Williams, than what is really happening to real people in our world. Why wouldn't the media be on this story? Are they just so Liberal that they can't tell Canadians about the sad state Africa is in, or is it because their GOD Trudeau really liked Mugabe? Like he loved Castro and any other dictator he could meet.

Dated but worth the reading. "We started treating them as enemies of our government and the enemies of our people... and so we shall continue," he said.

So, where are the lefties? Are they protesting about this? NO. All is quiet on the African front.
