The Real Threat To Canada!

Much has been made of the principal that has banned the singing of O Canada from his school, and I agree that it is wrong, no matter what his motivation.

I got to thinking about our members of Parliament and how they should react to this story, and that led me to the Bloq. You see, the Bloq does not sing O Canada, and I have proof. This video shows all the times O Canada was sung in Parliament in 2008, not once did the Bloq participate.

You can skip most of it, but make sure you listen to the Parliamentary pages sing, it's very well done, too bad our MP's aren't as enthusiastic. The pattern every Wednesday is Liberal/NDP/Conservative and then repeat throughout the year. The NDP has one guy who sings, usually all by himself. The Conservatives are the most enthusiastic, but not necessarily the best singers. NO BLOQ.

Why are we going ballistic about one principal in one school who banned the singing of O Canada, when some of our MP's will not sing O Canada. Why hasn't the MSM reported on this? If the principal can complain to the HRC, why can't we do the same with the Bloq? The PM doesn't dare call the Bloq separatists, because Quebec will take offense. It's time for us to be offended by a party that will not sing O Canada, but gladly takes taxpayers money not only for their paycheques but also to buy Quebec votes.

This makes me so mad because separatism had died down and was just about dead, then the NDP had to mess with it by arranging the coalition. The Liberals share the blame because they all, (including Iggy) signed the agreement. They are responsible for breathing life back into the separatist movement.

Separatism back on top of Bloc Quebecois' agenda

ST-HYACINTHE, Que. -- Separatism is back on top of the Bloc Quebecois agenda after being on the back burner for a few years.

"Our goal is as pertinent as ever," Bloc Leader Gilles Duceppe said at a party meeting in St-Hyacinthe, Que., on Saturday

The real threat to Canada is not one principal banning the singing of O Canada, it is the Bloq, and until Canada wakes up to that fact, our country is going to remain fractured.

Hunter, it was Dear Leader that was responsible for breathing the life back into the Separatist movement. Remember the speech he gave just before the election? ...*tap* *tap* *tap*?

I see the Bloc as a festering boil on the body of Canada. It needs to be lanced now!!: before amputation is the only alternative.

Very Interesting! When I watch question period I often think that the member from Timmins James Bay looks uncomfortable with the direction taken by Jack Layton.I have noticed that he has even left his seat a times.

Ian MacDonald has an article today lamenting Harper's problems in Quebec and predicting 30 mre seats for the Libs next election. He expands his prediction to Ontario following Quebec's lead thus restoring the Libs to power. I sent him the following email:

Greetings. Your column today highlights the problems for the Tories in Quebec and goes on to extrapolate that the Liberals would obtain another 30 seats if an election were held today.

I assume these seat would come from the BQ. Outside of Montreal would the Lib/BQ fight not split the vote in some ridings, thus allowing the CPC to come up the middle.

This poll was also taken before the Libs agreed to support the budget so I will be interested to see if those numbers hold.

Either way extra seats in Quebec still won't vault the Libs into power. I question your premise that Ontario will follow Quebec's lead.

Then you have the factor of adding all of the new seats in the west and Ontario and Quebec becomes less and less a player.

No. I fear Quebec has fallen victim to the 'suck and blow' conundrum. They want to suck up all of Canada's money and blow off any responsibility that comes with it.

This makes me very disillusioned as I am a born and raised Quebecer who lives in BC. Cheers. Sandra

I believe this attitude expressed by Ian is typical of most journalist's. It is all about Que/Ont all of the time and the Rest of Canada is just window dressing. Cheers.

Well, if was "dear leader" breathing life back into the separatist movement what exactly is wrong with calling a shovel a shovel? Or a spade a spade?
If it looks like a separatist, talks like separatist, is it not a separatist?
Puhleeze! Do not hold anybody else responsible for starting this deal with the devil in the first place.
Let HIM go, it is time!
I fought for my country back during the referendum but no longer after this weekends comments from the separatists leader.
ps, notice how SQ capitalizes, separatist....interesting....

Hunter - Although legal, the Bloc should not be a federal party as it represents only one party. I also believe that public funding of political parties should end. If a party cannot raise funds from a grassroots level, then it has no business being in the federal government. Public funding gives people like Elizabeth May a public forum and the proliferation of parties makes minority governments a reality due to vote-splitting. Minority governments are pretty ineffective given the propensity of opposing parties to oppose just for the sake of making trouble with absolutely no regard for Canadians. Witness the coalition's attempted coup - what good did that do for the average Canadian? Zip.
