Attached is Bill 26. I support this legislation as I believe it will help to create a no-tolerance culture in Alberta.
I would appreciate your comments.
Thank you.
Fred Horne, MLA
Edmonton-Rutherford
Ph: (780)414-1311
I added the bolding....no-tolerance culture? It's about lowering the legal drinking limit from .08 to .05. Here is my response:
My comment, you go ahead and support Bill 26, just one more indication that you are not a Conservative. You go ahead and support Bill 26, and I will not vote for you in the next election. I have asked for one thing from you as my MLA, a repeal of the Human Rights Commission's power, and you increased funding. Can the PC's be anymore tone deaf than they already are? Be prepared to go the way of the federal Liberals. Your new leader was elected by the teachers union, real Conservatives like me stayed away. You have a majority and there is nothing we can do about this bill, you will push it through no matter what I want.
Go for it, but you have lost my vote. No-tolerance culture? That sounds a lot like prohibition to me, is that next? REAL Conservatives are all about personal responsibility, not the "collective" good of the group, socialism. Make the penalties higher for blowing over .08. As it stands if I go out and have 1 glass of wine, being a 100 pound female, I would blow over .05. You are penalizing the occasional drinker, and letting the real hard core repeat offenders go, time after time, with just a slap on the wrist. Get tough on the real offenders. This reminds me of the useless gun registry. Red Allison is pushing through her pet projects at the expense of good leadership, and you are following her onto the cliff. Good luck with that come election time.
No response back so far, I don't really expect one, my MLA is busy as a Minister or something now, and won't have time for us. He is a wimp, (I have met him) and will bow to whatever Ali wants him to do. Make no mistake, she is a woman on a mission, and we are not going to like Alberta after she is done with it. What bugs me most is that she has not been given her mandate by Albertans, yet she is acting like she has been.
Someone who is thinking like me.....Searching for Liberty...you have to see his picture of Alison Ness, it's hilarious!
Funny how the lefties are striking out on all their protests.
Occupy....Dead, Kyoto....Dead, CWB....Dead. Pathetic, 30 people protest against the deregulation of the CWB.
Seriously, the left has blown their wad over climate change and other issues. How Liberal and NDP MP's can seriously think that restricting our farmers by making them sell their wheat to the CWB is a good idea, I will never know. They should hang their heads in shame at how they are subverting our farmers rights. If even one farmer wants to be free from the CWB yoke, that is one too many. No government has the right to force an individual to sell their produce to the CWB. Yet the left thinks it's perfectly okay. They use the argument that if the gun registry only saves one live....yet they fail to understand that a monopoly restricts farmers rights and freedoms.
Expect plenty of bleating about the Kyoto accord. Socialists love spending other peoples money, and Kyoto is a huge money transfer from developed countries to undeveloped countries, a cause that lefties can really get their teeth into. They love the underdog, as long as they can make money from grants and government programs. They could care less about the tribe in Africa that doesn't have fresh water, until that tribe becomes an icon for their movement.
A perfect example is Coke. They are giving the WWF 2 million to save our polar bears. Our polar bears are just fine, their populations are increasing, but Coke wants to use them as a marketing tool. I have emailed them and told them that we are buying Pepsi from now on. It probably won't make any difference, but I feel better.
Lefties, supporting useless causes from Canada to Antarctica. Go and Occupy Durbin, but make sure you buy those useless carbon credits to offset nothing.
Make those corporations who are using climate change as a marketing tool pay, Coke is first on my list. Look for those companies that use "holiday" instead of "Christmas" in their ads. Make them hurt by refusing to buy their products.
Forget all the biased reporting by the CBC, forget the dysfunctional opposition. forget the lefties with an agenda, think good times.
We have a majority government, they can now fulfill their election promises, and they are doing that at record pace. I know the lefties hate it, but suck it up kids, the reality is that our government is in control, not you and your occupy madness. What a failed protest that was, but a great picture of what the lefties want, anarchy!
Why am I happy?
1. Gun registry, gone.
2. Section 13, gone.
3. Catering to the "greenies", gone.
4. Canadian Wheat Board stranglehold, gone.
5. Special interest groups, gone.
6. Tough on crime, great for victims
All this in less than 6 months of a majority government.
I love the zombies, so appropriate for the Occupy movement. A job is a right? Are they really that dumb? Occupy Canada is done. They had no purpose, and so the movement dies, by it's own hand.
The Y Generation....Occupy Your Parents Basement....
People born before 1946 were called The Silent generation,
People born between 1946 and 1964 are called The Baby Boomers,
People born between 1965 and 1979 are called Generation X,
And people born between 1980 and 2010 are called Generation Y.
Why do we call the last group Generation Y?
Y should I get a job?
Y should I leave home and find my own place?
Y should I get a car when I can borrow yours?
Y should I clean my room?
Y should I wash and iron my own clothes?
Y should I buy any food?
But a cartoonist explained it very eloquently below...
I think we saw those Y's at Occupy!

No one believes seniors. . . everyone thinks they are senile.
An elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth anniversary. The couple
had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved back to their old neighborhood after they retired.
Holding hands, they walked back to their old school. It was not locked, so they entered, and
found the old desk theyd shared, where Andy had carved I love you, Sally ..
On their way back home, a bag of money fell out of an armored car,
practically landing at their feet. Sally quickly picked it up and, not sure what to do with it,
they took it home. There, she counted the money----fifty thousand dollars!
Andy said, Weve got to give it back. Sally said, Finders keepers. She put the money back in the bag
and hid it in their attic.
The next day, two police officers were canvassing the neighborhood looking
for the money, and knocked on their door. Pardon me, did either of you find a bag that fell out of
an armored car yesterday? Sally said, No.
Andy said, Shes lying. She hid it up in the attic.
Sally said, Dont believe him, hes getting senile
The agents turned to Andy and began to question him.
One said: Tell us the story from the beginning.
Andy said, Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school
yesterday ....
The first police officer turned to his partner and said, Were outta here!

Marriage Counseling:
After 35 years of marriage, a husband and wife came for counseling. When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a passionate, painful tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the years they had been married.
On and on and on: neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved and unlovable, an entire laundry list of unmet needs she had endured.
Finally, after allowing this for a sufficient length of time, the therapist got up, walked around the desk and after asking the wife to stand, embraced and kissed her passionately as her husband watched with a raised eyebrow. The woman shut up and quietly sat down as though in a daze. The therapist turned to the husband and said, 'this is what your wife needs at least 3 times a week. Can you do this?'
'Well, I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, but on Fridays, I fish.'

Hard to beat that last video, so I will sign off for tonight. Have a great weekend!
Extreme Lefty Maude Barlow weighs in on our health care system under the guise of the "Council for Canadians", a lefty think tank...as if they ever think!
Maude Barlow of the Council of Canadians says the federal government should commit to a 10-year health transfer plan with the provinces that would see a six per cent increase in funding annually. "At the moment, the Harper government is only committed to 2016, so we are very concerned that they have no intention of carrying it beyond that," Barlow told a news conference Thursday. Barlow added that the Canada Health Act must be better enforced so that it's used to stop private health care services from eroding the system. Barlow also wants to see health care coverage include dental care, pharmacare and continuing care.
Hello Maude, 2016!!! This is 2011, and the lefties are already worried about 2016? Oh my God, can they get anymore irrelevant? Stop private health care services, right Maude? Didn't Saint Jack use private health care services? Answer that one honestly if you can.
Maude has spoken. All hail socialists and their lack of concern for the actual people who use our health care system. Maude tells Canadians to eat cake and like it!
Instead of demanding more money for our failing health system, why not spend that money to support our doctors and nurses by allowing them the freedom to provide both public and private services?
Let's take hip replacements as an example. My doctor gets the operating room in the hospital one morning a month, so he can only book a few hip replacements. The rest of the time, he is evaluating patients in his office and putting them on a wait list. His skills are being seriously underused and his nurses could be given more responsibilities in the evaluation process.
Now, allow private health care. My doctor can set up an operating room in his office and offer hip replacements for a fee. He will still be required to do hip replacements at the hospital once a month as usual. His skills can be used everyday, and his nurses will be more involved in the whole process. Those who can not pay extra are still added to his wait list for the hospital once a month, but the list will be way shorter because those who choose to pay will not be on the list anymore.
Is that to hard for lefties to understand? Dentists perform surgeries in their offices everyday. Why can they do that and not other doctors? Lefties freak out when they think someone else is getting better care than they might, unless they are Saint Jack and then it's okay for him to use private health care because he was so precious to their cause. Maude should run for the NDP, she is their next Saint....oh I forgot the NDP are mainly a godless lot.
A mix of public and private health care is the only solution, but the lefties will have to be dragged crying and screaming into the brave new world of efficient health care, not the Tommy Douglas, sterilize handicapped people type of health care. And they accuse Conservatives of not being open to change? HA!
CTV is all abuzz because two NDP MP's might have been reading the national anthem from a piece of paper.
Video of two New Democrat MPs apparently needing to consult a lyrics sheet for O Canada has raised a lot of eyebrows, and triggered a backlash from NDP members. A field producer for CTV's Ottawa Bureau first noticed the mysterious sheet of paper held by MPs Lise St-Denis & Djaouida Sellah in the House of Commons, and his Twitter post caused a mini-firestorm. The NDP's national director said not every MP knows the anthem in Canada's two official languages, but St-Denis and Sellah appear to consult the lyrics sheet for both.
A mini-firestorm? Golly!!!!! Sad sack journalists. How come those "so shocked" journalists NEVER complained that the Bloc NEVER even showed up to sing the national anthem? I have proof:
The Bloc NEVER showed up for our national anthem, but the media are going after two NDP MP's because they were at least participating in the singing of our anthem? Hypocrites.
I couldn't sing the French version, and I can pretend to sing the French parts of the English/French version. I want all those so smug CTV journalists, to stand up, and sing the English/French version of our anthem without a cue card. I want Lisa Flameout to lead the singing. What? Not going to happen? It's easy to criticize from behind a mic, try actually participating in our democracy, instead of shi**ing on it and complaining without any solutions.
You all know that I have nothing in common with the NDP, but this is just the Liberal media making up stories because "occupy anything" has failed, climategate 2 is blowing up in the IPCC arena, and the Liberals are fading into the woodwork.
Seriously, the liberal media has been drooling over "Red Ali", which is a great indication that she really is more red than blue. Even the NDP like her!
Environics pollster Tony Coulson noted the Progressive Conservatives under Redford are back in a commanding position similar to 2008, before a two-year slide under then-premier Ed Stelmach. "It suggests that many folks are OK with the new leader and they're happy with the way things are going in the province," said Coulson. Albertans will be headed to the polls sometime between March 1 and May 31 under the new fixed election legislation. Heading into that election, Coulson said the picture is one of a divided opposition, which makes the Tories' 51 per cent support an even stronger figure. "There's nobody close to them in the current mix." The Wildrose party, which now sits at 19 per cent support (up three percentage points from July poll levels) is still down from its high points in 2009 and 2010, when support hovered around 30 per cent. The NDP is at 14 per cent support and the Alberta Liberals are at 13 per cent - both parties are at the same popularity levels as seen in Environics polling in July.
I hope "Red Ali" takes those poll numbers and calls an election. The results would be stunning.
A guy is driving around the back woods of
Montana and he sees a sign in front of a
broken down shanty-style house: 'Talking
Dog For Sale 'He rings the bell and the owner
appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard.
The guy goes into the backyard and sees a
nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there.
'You talk?' he asks.
'Yep,' the Lab replies.
After the guy recovers from the shock of
hearing a dog talk, he says ‘So, what's your story?'
The Lab looks up and says, 'Well, I
discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young..
I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA.
In no time at all they had me jetting from
country to country, sitting in rooms with
spies and world leaders, because no one
figured a dog would be eavesdropping.’
'I was one of their most valuable spies for
eight years running...
But the jetting around really tired me out,
and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so
I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job
at the airport to do some undercover security,
wandering near suspicious characters and
listening in. I uncovered some incredible
dealings and was awarded a batch of medals.'
'I got married, had a mess of puppies, and
now I'm just retired.'
The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks
the owner what he wants for the dog.
'Ten dollars,' the guy says.
'Ten dollars? This dog is amazing! Why on
earth are you selling him so cheap?'
'Because he lies. He's never been out of
the yard'

A true story from the pages of the Manchester Evening Times .
***************************************************
Last Wednesday a passenger in a taxi heading for Salford
station leaned over to ask the driver a question and gently
tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.
The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a
bus, drove up over the curb and stopped just inches from a
large plate window.
For a few moments everything was silent in the cab. Then,
the shaking driver said "are you OK? I'm so sorry, but you
scared the daylights out of me."
The badly shaken passenger apologized to the driver and said,
"I didn't realize that a mere tap on the shoulder would
startle someone so badly."
The driver replied, "No, no, I'm the one who is sorry, it's
entirely my fault. Today is my very first day driving a cab.
I've been driving a hearse for 25 years."

It's going to be minus 30 here tomorrow....global warming really sucks in Edmonton! Stay warm. Remember, your family is the most important thing in your life.
I'm loving this government. First the long gun registry is up for death by uselessness. Then the CWB loses it's monopsony power to jail our western farmers. They of course, like any good lefties, are whining to the courts, with our tax dollars. Violent criminals might actually get enough time in jail to understand that they did something wrong, thanks to a crime bill the lefties can't stand, because those poor, poor criminals didn't really mean to rape that women, or shoot that kid. Now, the next piece has fallen into place, the striking of the offensive section 13 from the HRC book of tricks. No longer will people get persecuted for free speech because someone is "offended"!
The problem for censorshipminded activists is that proving hate speech in court is hard. Courts tend to abridge Charter rights such as freedom of expression only in the most extreme cases. It is unlikely that an antiimmigration screed on the Internet or a controversial editorial cartoon would prompt a real judge to shut down a website or fine a blogger. That's why most activists prefer to rely on Sec. 13 of the CHRA and its provincial counterparts (which should also be written out of the law), instead of the criminal code.
Now, real judges will hear real cases of hate speech, not the biased HRC employees. Now, a blogger stating their opinion on an issue will not have to worry about being hauled before the HRC for someone with "hurt" feelings. Kudos to this government for acting on this issue. Now, if "Red Ali" wants to keep Conservative votes, she will get rid of this odious section in Alberta's HRC, but I'm not holding my breath, not with what I have seen of her so far.
Dogs are considered "dirty" by some tribes/groups/religions. Personally, I think dogs are awesome in that they help humans feel better. Dogs have been helping us for centuries.
The guy is obviously listening to the Liberals and NDP, not Conservatives. Can the PC's in Alberta get anymore clueless? Seriously, from our new premier not pushing the pipeline, to this guy wanting a sales tax? Can we get Ralph back, please? Pretty please? Even Steady Eddie would be better.
Here we go again. Our gov't wants to spend 7 billion to ship more raw materials out of the country to be refined, so we can buy them back for a grossly inflated price. Why not spend the money to build a refinery closer to the source and create jobs for Canadians? Let's keep the profits in Canada.
Hey, Bill get your facts straight, Transalta wants to spend that 7 billion dollars not the government. Refining our oil means that stable oil gets converted to highly volatile produces that would make shipping it much more dangerous, but don't let facts get in your way of a good uninformed rant.
I bet lots of the people commenting on this article are from the east. Do they understand that they are dependent on Mideast oil? Do they know that Irving oil is "blood oil" and they want to keep it that way. They get unprocessed mideast oil and refine it, why do they prefer mideast oil to Canadian oil? Think of all those oil tankers floating down the St. Laurent river, isn't that more dangerous than a pipeline?
Personally I think Obama is out for himself, not the American people. He has alienated most of America's friends, and ensured that America is isolated. He has just slapped Canada in the face and is expecting that we will just roll over and want our belly rubbed.
Thankfully we do not have a weak leader like Obama, we have PM Harper, and he was clear in his response to Obama.
HONOLULU — Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced Sunday Canada will apply to join a new free trade agreement with the United States and the Asia-Pacific region, and suggested that Canada’s farm supply management systems could be on the table for negotiation. Mr. Harper also said Canada will look further into selling its oil and gas to Asian countries due to U.S. delays in approving the Keystone XL pipeline.
Smack, in your face Obama. Harper used velvet gloves to make his point, but it had to be stated. The US thinks that they will get an endless supply of oil from Alberta, but it is Alberta's resource, and we can Read and support there.
Do they have any friends left? Seriously, the Democrats running America, and specifically Obama their President have done everything they can to tick Canada and other friends off thinking we will remain friends just because.
Well it is time for PM Harper and Canada to give them the finger back. The Democrats don't understand that Canada supplies 20% of their oil. To make them stand up and pay attention, we should have a pipeline malfunction for a week that cuts off all our oil to them. Think gas is expensive now? HA!
What a weak President the US has, they should be embarrassed at how ineffectual he is, but the media remains in his pocket....what they are doing there is not a mystery, being lefties themselves, they will not turn on one of their own. They make a slight gaff by Perry into the end of the world, but criticize Obama for refusing to take a stance on the Keystone pipeline? Forget about it!
The Keystone XL pipeline would carry as much as 700,000 barrels of oil a day, doubling the capacity of an existing pipeline operated by TransCanada in the upper Midwest. Supporters say the pipeline to Texas could significantly reduce U.S. dependence on Middle Eastern oil while providing thousands of jobs.
TransCanada has said a delay in approval could cost it millions of dollars and keep thousands of people of from getting jobs.
The American Petroleum Institute, the oil industry's chief lobbying group, said it was disappointed. "Delaying or denying Keystone XL will damage America's energy and national security," API president Jack Gerard said in a statement.
Doubling the capacity of an EXISTING pipeline. Well shut that pipeline down for maintenance, we Canadians would hate for an environmental disaster to occur on American soil. Let's ship that 800,000 barrels a day to China instead. Are Americans so uninformed that they don't understand how much oil Canada sends them? Oh, I take that back, most of them still think that the 911 terrorists came through Canada, including Obama's puppet Janet.
The U.S. Homeland Security chief has clarified earlier remarks that suggested the 9-11 terrorists entered the U.S. through Canada. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano made the comments during a media interview earlier this week, much to the chagrin of Canadians on both sides of the border. In a release Tuesday night following the interview, she called Canada a "close ally and an important partner" and said she was simply misunderstood. "I know that the September 11th hijackers did not come through Canada to the United States," she said in the statement. "There are other instances, however, when suspected terrorists have attempted to enter our country from Canada to the United States. Some of these are well-known to the public -- such as the Millennium Bomber -- while others are not due to security reasons."
This bimbo wants to charge Canadians an extra $5 to enter the US, talk about petty. And you know that bridge to the US? Forget about it!
The momentum for a new bridge linking Detroit and Canada seems to be waning in Michigan, where the wealthy owner of a private span has waged a pricey public-relations war on television to sink it and a new public opinion poll released this week suggests a majority of voters oppose it.
Let me guess, the owner of the present bridge is a Democrat?
Obama is fighting for his political life.....I hear he is on a vacation right now, golfing is he? The US is in a shambles and the guy is golfing? Wise up America, before it is too late.
Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman said the State Department decision was due largely to pressure from Nebraskans. Heineman called a special session of the Nebraska Legislature to address pipeline concerns, including a possible rerouting of the pipeline around the Sandhills.
Okay, no jobs for you Nebraska. Canada has another pipeline on the go, it will keep all those jobs in Canada and send our oil to China and India. Come back and talk to us in a few years when the price of "blood" oil from the Mideast is so high that Nebraskans are riding their bikes in the winter.
I would actually feel sorry for Americans, except they are like Ontario, they keep electing total incompetents and blaming it on everything but themselves when jobs leave.
America needs to understand, it is Canada's oil, if you don't want it, we have other markets, you don't. You import, not export your oil. Wise up.
America gives Canada the finger! We can give them the finger right back, and it will hurt them way more than it will us! Watch.
Common sense needs to rise up. As a continuation of my last post about our lefty premier, a need to watch, Adler Common Sense video.
The PC's better hold an election soon, because the more we see how lefty Redford actually is, the more Liberal appointments she makes, the less chance of them keeping government.
Monte Solberg makes some excellent points.
Our premier is a dud, she is pandering to the unions that got her elected, in a very union adverse province. She is committing political suicide by only listening to the liberal elites. So be it. Mail your MLA to tell them about your feelings.
Our new lefty premier just doesn't get Albertans. Is she really from Alberta? Does she not understand what makes Alberta prosperous? Guess not.
CALGARY - Alberta Premier Alison Redford said she's not going to lobby Washington decision-makers to give a stamp of approval to the controversial Keystone XL pipeline......
"It's not my intention and never has been my intention to go and specifically lobby decision-makers in the process because that's not how the process works," said Redford. "I do believe that this is a process that Americans have to go through, to decide what they want to come to be. "We are going to very clearly tell the story that this matters to Alberta and we think that we can speak to our experience with respect to regulations and pipelines."
Liberal lefty spewing on, and on about nothing, and the problem is that she is serious. Don't make waves by actually PROMOTING Alberta. A "process"? How polite, how destructive to Alberta's oil industry. "Tell the story"? Is she serious? Lady, it's not a "story", it is the livelihood of thousands of Canadians, not just Albertans. We have the oil, the US wants oil and have the capacity to process it, why wouldn't you go there and promote our ethical oil over the middle east blood oil? What a wash out you are already. Bring back Eddy, at least he was smart enough to know he needed advisers to help him, Alison thinks she is smart enough to do everything on her own, or by listening to US advisers. Typical liberal thinking.
The new premier has taken intense criticism from Wildrose Party leader Danielle Smith, who insists Redford should have travelled to Washington for the final keystone hearing on Oct 7. Redford was sworn in as premier on Oct. 7, and said Smith is merely an “armchair quarterback.” “I think it’s easy to sit back and say ‘you should have done this you should have done that.’ What I know is that before I made this sort of decision I took advice from people who are in leadership roles in Washington,” said Redford. “I’m very confident in the advice that I’ve received with respect to that and I believe that this is exactly the right time to go.”
Advise from Americans? Seriously? Is she that clueless? Sigh....she obviously is.
During four days of travelling starting in Washington Nov. 14, Redford will also stop over in New York Wednesday to speak about Alberta’s viable investment markets, while addressing environmental stewardship in Toronto Wednesday, wrapping up the week meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Ottawa Thursday. “Part of what we need to be able to do when we’re in Toronto and in Ottawa is to be abel to set a tone for the fact that as a government we intend to do business differently with respect to federal/provincial relations,” she said.
We intend to do business differently? How? Hey, Alison, Toronto is not the center of the universe, are you going to pander to it? Ottawa just wants our money, how are you going to ensure that we get to keep more of ours? Big talk, no actual plan, or is she keeping it secret from Albertans?
There is nothing Conservative about our new premier-elect, she is a lefty from head to toe. Thanks to the PC's stupid membership rules, the Liberals/NDP/Greens voted in a useless Liberal premier. Last election of a leader, I voted. This time I couldn't care less, because I will not be voting PC in the next election, I will be voting Wildrose. I just hope that Alison doesn't permentally damage our relationship with the federal government and the US in the meantime. She thinks she's smarter than Ed, but I suspect that she is just another arrogant Liberal pretending to be a Conservative. She is in for a huge shock, think Kim Campbell, next election!
Alison, go to the US, shout out to anyone who will listen, that Alberta is open for business. Tell them that the pipeline will provide American jobs. Oh, why do I bother, she's tone deaf to Conservatives.
I have been seeing lots of Ontario plates here in Alberta, and every time I look into the vehicle it is a young male or males. BC gets the retired Albertans, Alberta gets the up and coming young people, people who are here to work and succeed. Welcome!
Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan are the power driving Canada's engine. We are the "have" provinces, including Newfoundland, which is a kindred spirit. Our malls are packed with young families, shopping, and buying things, making the engine purr.
Brad Wall's win tonight is a clear message that given a choice between a "collective" and rewarding individuals, in the end the individuals will win. Good job Wall! Believe it or not for the first time in years, Saskatchewan is growing. I still see the occasional Sask plate, but I suspect they are just driving through.
I wish we had Klein back, but as that won't happen, I want Brad Wall to be the one who defends the west's oil. Our premier elect is a waste of space, she was too busy getting elected to go to the US and make our case for why the US NEEDS our oil. Wall has been a great voice for the west and now that the election is over, I hope he will clue in both the premier of Alberta and the premier of BC, they both need a swift kick in the butt.
The 100 million that Alison gave to the teachers could have been better used to promote our oilsands, but I suspect the lefty PC are too scared to actually support Alberta's biggest industry. After the Stelmach royalty disaster, we need leadership like Wall has provided to Saskatchewan. We need the Wildrose Alliance!
Even with our lame leadership in Alberta, the west is the place to be for young people who want to work.....well except for Occupy Vancouver, they are obviously smoking too much BC Bud!
Go west young man/woman has never been truer! We actually have good paying jobs out here!
How can one loony lefty person make the graduation for 800 cadets a disappointment? Better question, how can 800 cadets make a statement against the one loon?
The butcher of babies, Morgentaler received the Order of Canada, and the lefties loved it. They salivated about the fact that he kills babies. Choice they yelled, as he slaughtered babies that were inconvenient for their Moms to carry. Sick.
Let the RMC try to give Don Cherry a honorary award for his unwavering support of our troops, and one stupid little inferior female cries foul. She should be fired, except I suspect she belongs to a union and can't be removed and she knows it!
Baby killer praised, military supporter spit on. Typical lefties, no morals, no understanding of honour, respect and love of country. They are so wrong. I feel sorry for them. They are lost because they have no values or morals. They do not understand commitment. They marry and divorce as often as rabbits multiply.
Don Cherry showed up the tiny minded french teacher by refusing to be a lefty target. Now it is up to the cadets to make a statement. A classy response would be to all refuse to show up for graduation unless Cherry was there. Also, force the french teacher to apologize for her false statements against Cherry. She libeled Cherry without any proof. She needs to be sued. Unfortunately, Cherry is too nice to sue her, but maybe some lawyer can get her on her false accusations.
So, in other words, she's nothing but a cunning linguist?
(with a penchant for writing to newspapers?) STOP THE PRESS!
What are the odds of two people with the last surname working in the same department at RMC?
(i.e. what are the odds of them NOT being related? ... yup - no possible perception of conflict of interest here ... after all, what Language Centre Director would hire a relative ...)
LCol(Ret'd) JEJ Lord Language Center Director lord-j@rmc.ca
P.S. (BZ to Don Cherry for showing infintely more class than Mrs. C Lord. I look forward to Mrs Lord's resignation or dismissal, whichever comes first ... the latter being my personal preference ...)
Tisk tisk, lefties making sure that they and their offspring remain at the trough. I'm Shocked, I tell you shocked !!!
How could I resist joining the debate about whether we should keep the beaver or replace it with the polar bear?
First up, the beaver:

This is an actual letter sent to a man named Ryan DeVries regarding a pond on his property. It was sent by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Quality, State of Pennsylvania . This guy's response is hilarious, but read The State's letter before you get to the response letter.
State of Pennsylvania 's letter to Mr. DeVries:
SUBJECT: DEQ
File No.97-59-0023; T11N; R10W, Sec 20; Lycoming County
Dear Mr. DeVries:
It has come to the attention of the Department of Environmental Quality that there has been recent unauthorized activity on the above referenced parcel of property. You have been certified as the legal landowner and/or contractor who did the following unauthorized activity:
Construction and maintenance of two wood debris dams across the outlet stream of Spring Pond.
A permit must be issued prior to the start of this type of activity.. A review of the Department's files shows that no permits have been issued Therefore, the Department has determined that this activity is in violation of Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of the Natural Resource and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, being sections 324.30101 to 324.30113 of the Pennsylvania Compiled Laws, annotated.
The Department has been informed that one or both of the dams partially failed during a recent rain event, causing debris and flooding at downstream locations.. We find that dams of this nature are inherently hazardous and cannot be permitted. The Department therefore orders you to cease and desist all activities at this location, and to restore the stream to a free-flow condition by removing all wood and brush forming the dams from the stream channel. All restoration work shall be completed no later than January 31, 2010.
Please notify this office when the restoration has been completed so that a follow-up site inspection may be scheduled by our staff. Failure to comply with this request or any further unauthorized activity on the site may result in this case being referred for elevated enforcement action..
We anticipate and would appreciate your full cooperation in this matter. Please feel free to contact me at this office if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
David L. Price
District Representative and Water Management Division.
Here is the actual response sent back by Mr. DeVries:
Re: DEQ File
No.. 97-59-0023; T11N; R10W, Sec. 20; Lycoming County
Dear Mr..Price,
Your certified letter dated 11/17/09 has been handed to me. I am the legal landowner but not the Contractor at 2088 Dagget Lane , Trout Run, Pennsylvania .
A couple of beavers are in the (State unauthorized) process of constructing and maintaining two wood 'debris' dams across the outlet stream of my Spring Pond. While I did not pay for, authorize, nor supervise their dam project, I think they would be highly offended that you call their skillful use of natures building materials 'debris.'
I would like to challenge your department to attempt to emulate their dam project any time and/or any place you choose. I believe I can safely state there is no way you could ever match their dam skills, their dam resourcefulness, their dam ingenuity, their dam persistence, their dam determination and/or their dam work ethic.
These are the beavers/contractors you are seeking. As to your request, I do not think the beavers are aware that they must first fill out a dam permit prior to the start of this type of dam activity.
My first dam question to you is:
(1) Are you trying to discriminate against my Spring Pond Beavers, or
(2) do you require all beavers throughout this State to conform to said dam request?
If you are not discriminating against these particular beavers, through the Freedom of Information Act, I request completed copies of all those other applicable beaver dam permits that have been issued. (Perhaps we will see if there really is a dam violation of Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of the Natural Resource and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, being sections 324.30101 to 324.30113 of the Pennsylvania Compiled Laws, annotated.)
I have several dam concerns. My first dam concern is, aren't the beavers entitled to legal representation? The Spring Pond Beavers are financially destitute and are unable to pay for said representation -- so the State will have to provide them with a dam lawyer.
The Department's dam concern that either one or both of the dams failed during a recent rain event, causing flooding, is proof that this is a natural occurrence, which the Department is required to protect. In other words, we should leave the Spring Pond Beavers alone rather than harassing them and calling them dam names.
If you want the damed stream 'restored' to a dam free-flow condition please contact the beavers -- but if you are going to arrest them, they obviously did not pay any attention to your dam letter, they being unable to read English.
In my humble opinion, the Spring Pond Beavers have a right to build their unauthorized dams as long as the sky is blue, the grass is green and water flows downstream. They have more dam rights than I do to live and enjoy Spring Pond. If the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection lives up to its name, it should protect the natural resources (Beavers) and the environment (Beavers' Dams).
So, as far as the beavers and I are concerned, this dam case can be referred for more elevated enforcement action right now. Why wait until 1/31/2010? The Spring Pond Beavers may be under the dam ice by then and there will be no way for you or your dam staff to contact/harass them.
In conclusion, I would like to bring to your attention to a real environmental quality, health, problem in the area It is the bears! Bears are actually defecating in our woods. I definitely believe you should be persecuting the defecating bears and leave the beavers alone. If you are going to investigate the beaver dam, watch your dam step! The bears are not careful where they dump!
Being unable to comply with your dam request, and being unable to contact you on your dam answering machine, I am sending this response to your dam office.
THANK YOU,
RYAN DEVRIES & THE DAM BEAVERS

Now for the polar bears:
Okay, they aren't as cute and cuddly as we have been told! This:
Grows into this:
You decide, beaver or polar bear? Or maybe a hippo?

Maybe we should make the moose our national animal?
When you think you've seen everything....
Without the picture, this would be hard to believe.
Read under the picture...
Pogo Moose Incident - Bracebridge , Ont , Canada - 1 hr. 45min. North of Toronto . 'They were laying new power cables which were strung on the ground for miles. The moose are rutting right now and very agitated. He was thrashing around and got his antlers stuck in the cables. When the men (miles away) began pulling the lines up with their big equipment, the moose went up with them. They noticed excess tension in the lines and went searching for the problem.
He was still alive when they lowered him to the ground. He was a huge 60 inch bull and slightly teed off!'

Or maybe we should make dogs our national animal?

Have a great weekend, remember to fall back on Sunday.
What's so bad about "community organizers" like Obama was, organizing the Wall Street protests? Nothing as long as they are up front about it. No hiding. No dishonesty. No violence. Do they think they are fooling anyone? I guess so.
FoxNews.com’s report identified NYCC as a key organizing force behind the Occupy Wall Street protests. Sources within the group also told FoxNews.com NYCC was hiring people to carry signs and join the protests. NYCC — a nonprofit organization run almost entirely by former ACORN officials and employees –did not reply for comment prior to the publication of the initial article, but later posted a statement on its website dismissing the article and denying that it pays protesters.
Why won't NYCC reveal that they are behind the Occupy Wall Street protests? If it's such a great cause shouldn't they be shouting their support from the roof tops? Could it be that the protests are so lame, that no-one wants to take responsibility for the failed protest? Seriously, who cares what a bunch of drugged out, over sexed, want to be, hippies think?
I haven't posted about the "occupy" movement until now, because it's only the media that is keeping this issue alive. Most of us taxpaying workers are too busy taking responsibility for our families to care about a bunch of lazy, druggies who refuse to grow up. It appears that we still have some tent dwellers in Edmonton....who knew? It's pretty cold out there tonight, let's see how long they last.
The police should take down every tent that does not have anyone in it tonight, and every night until the mess is gone. Maybe taxpayers should "take back" the spaces we are paying for, and let the protesters clean up.
The 20th anniversary of an educational Remembrance Day event is being cancelled at a west Ottawa Catholic high school after the teacher organizing it was told "no tanks or guns" are allowed in the school. Notre Dame High School history teacher Gene Michaud sent an e-mail to friends last Friday, sadly announcing the end of the Remembrance Day Symposium -- shocking many in the military community. "There's a huge difference between some kid with a grudge bringing a weapon that's loaded into a school, and veterans putting on a Remembrance display with non-functioning historical replicas," said Wayne Mac Culloch, a retired major who spent more than 40 years in the Canadian Forces, including five missions overseas. "What we've got going on here is a warped perspective of no weapons in schools.
What a bunch of ridiculous hogwash. Kids love tanks and guns, and they need to understand that they are only to be used in the most extreme situations. If the schools think that hiding them from sight is going to make them disappear, they are sadly mistaken, it will only make kids more curious about them. How disrespectful to our vets can they get?
I remember Trudeau mania. I wasn't old enough to vote but we saw the posters and as young teenage girls thought he was pretty cool. Then I visited the army base, and got a ride in the perfectly functional, but soon to be retired (as decreed by Trudeau) tank. To this day, it was one of the best rides I have ever had in my life. Most schools are ruled by liberal feminists who do not understand or even try to understand boys, so banning "tanks and guns" is a no brainer from their perspective. Those yucky things can kill people, YIKES!
I took my boys to Klondike Days every year, and they would go on all the rides, but they kept on going back to the military display. They had REAL guns that the kids could pick up and aim. They had REAL tanks and ambulances. They had REAL soldiers that had been to Afghanistan, and best of all they had a maze of camouflage that the kids could go through and get sprayed with water from a ......wait for it..... water GUN! They loved it!
The progressive crowd is anything but progressive. They are narrow minded ninnies. Let the kids see a REAL gun and talk to a REAL vet. The experience will stay with them for a lifetime, like my ride in a tank has stuck with me. It didn't make me want to go out and kill people, I don't think talking to a vet about their experiences will make young kids want to instantly join the military, but I think that is what the left fear, that kids might think the military is a good career choice. Better the military than a useless arts degree.
Shame on those schools that are banning our vets. I hope the parents are giving them an earful.
We added a pop-up guy in the coffin, a good witch being burnt at the stake by two bad witches, skeletons climbing the ladder, and other fun stuff. We had people driving by all weekend. Most important, the kids were scared and they loved it!
In the light, not too scary:
In the dark, it's very scary:
In the light, not so bad:
In the dark.....
Watch my son's video, he did an excellent job!!!
It was a great time, lots of kids wanting to be scared, and parents laughing when they were taken by surprise. The pop-up dead guy was a huge hit, kids kept stepping on the pad to activate him. Next year, more moving props, less battery operated props that freeze up and refuse to work even on a mild night!
