It's time for a holiday in Antarctica! Yup you got it, Antarctica is warming! Well, maybe by one teeny tiny degree, but maybe not, depends which scientist you ask. That doesn't stop the MSM though, heck no, when they are on a global warming mission, nothing will stop them from using any report, no matter how they make up facts to prove their point.
Study says Antarctica is seeing global warming
"Contrarians have sometime grabbed on to this idea that the entire continent of Antarctica is cooling, so how could we be talking about global warming," said study co-author Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State University. "Now we can say: no, it's not true ... It is not bucking the trend."
That wouldn't be the same guy who distorted previous data called the Hockey Stick now would it??? So now he is making up data?? How believable is this study? It doesn't matter because if the MSM says it's true, it must be.
The researchers used satellite data and mathematical formulas to fill in missing information. That made outside scientists queasy about making large conclusions with such sparse information.
"This looks like a pretty good analysis, but I have to say I remain somewhat skeptical," Kevin Trenberth, climate analysis chief at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, said in an e-mail. "It is hard to make data where none exist."
Did you catch that, using mathematical formulas to fill in missing information, and presto, the Antarctica is melting!!! Oh, but they can't blame it on man-made global warming. Canada gets a say in this too:
The study has major ramifications for sea level rise, said Andrew Weaver at the University of Victoria in Canada. Most major sea level rise projections for the future counted on a cooling -- not warming -- Antarctica. This will make sea level rise much worse, Weaver said.

I think I have bought maybe 3 of the squiggly light bulbs, tried them, they were soooo ugly and decided to reduce my light use instead.
When I read and hear things like this, I want to, "shake a Suzuki" as they indoctrinate our children to think in simple terms.
Their way or the highway.
I am fully on board when I see fact and savings and conservation but we now have recyling products with no where to go, for example.
I am betting that all of the eco-nuts have bought more than one computer and more than one TV, toaster, washing machine......get my drift?

I forget who said it, but it's extremely accurate. For anthropogenic global warming to not be a reality, you need two things:
1) Another mechanism that generates significant climate forcing that we're not aware of (this means yelling solar variability at the top of your lungs doesn't count).
2) An explanation for why our understanding of basic chemistry is wrong. That is, why "greenhouse gases" do not "trap" infrared radiation (heat) the way we think.
The first requirement is semi-plausible - that we should discover new mechanisms of forcing is a possibility. The second requirement - that our basic chemistry (that can be tested in labs) is completely wrong - seems like a rather large stretch.

Interpolation is a technique common to most disciplines. Photoshop (and other photo editing programs), for instance, uses mathematical formulas to fill in missing information.
The amount of missing information that's interpolated is expressed in the degree of uncertainty (or variance) associated with the result.
That Kevin Trenberth remains skeptical is part of the scientific method. It's not an "omgz this so ridc0lus!!". It's really a shame how poorly science is understood and represented.
Because, why deal with facts supported by the vast majority of climate and related earth science researchers, when shills from corporations that would be impacted by environmental laws are able to claim an oppossing view, with far less evidence to support them?
By denying global warming, and the effects and causes of it, US and Canada are in danger of losing what could be a lucrative alternative energy market. As more countries attempt to restrict greenhouse gas emissions, and design better and alternative methods to do this, the importance of energy resources from countries like Canada will decline. It is better that we work at research and develop industries that can move our economy away from petroleum based, and into a economy that is alternative energy based.
BTW Hunter, the research into fruit flies that was criticised by Palin, and inndirectly by you, was instrumental in the better understanding of autism.

Funny how I've never liked the compact fluorescent bulbs. I always found the light "harsh".
GE is developing high efficiency incandescent (the regular kind) that are efficient enough to meet the new high efficiency lighting standards.

It is called the "Suzuki machine" because it must be fake, BS and really just a means of taking all our money and destroying the economy. The "Suzuki machine" must be fake, you know like those perpetual motion machines, because like global warming they make these outrageous claims for it which just can't possibly be true.
The "Suzuki machine" gets very cold inside, the more heat you apply to it. Just like the Earth! You heat the Suzuki machine and it gets cold!
What a crock! Where is my picture of a thermometer? Even weirder, they claim that if you stop applying heat to the "Suzuki machine", it stops getting cold!
How can this be? Inquiring minds want to know! How many little men does Suzuki have to put inside these Suzuki machines to fake the results?

I have replaced almost all of my bulbs with CFLs to save electricity. I don't buy into all of this global warming crap but I do like saving money. You can buy ones that look like regular bulbs. I like them also because they don't generate heat and they last a long time. My outside garage light comes on automatically (I have no control over it) at dusk and with normal bulbs, I was going through one every three months. The CFLs last two or more years. Works for me.
Eco-Nuts are the hippies of my youth. Hippies, if you recall, were people who couldn't make friends, couldn't get a date much less get **** so they became these mystical cool hippy types who didn't bathe or brush their teeth. But, they did get dates and the other stuff. I equate eco-nuts with these people. Nothing like dirty feet in birkenstocks and women with unshaven legs - with bottled water, of course.
