Must Watch...Not Evil, Just Wrong!

Just watched it online and it is worth your time. There were over 9000 viewers online watching the premiere at only one site, so I am not sure how many viewers there were worldwide. It kept my interest the whole time and was not just an anti-global warming documentary. It presented the human side to what could happen. I don't think you can re-watch it at the site, I think they want you to buy the DVD. Makes sense, they are capitalists.

It reminded me of this ridiculous program:

Stronach and Mercer were at the conference to promote a "Spread the Net" program for purchasing and distributing bed nets in Africa to help protect children from mosquitoes.

"More African children under the age of five die from malaria than any other cause," she said.

Mosquitoes spread malaria, which kills 3,000 children in Africa every day.

The program, which aims to get individuals to buy 500,000 bed nets for distribution in Liberia and Rwanda, is the brainchild of Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, a famed economist and author of The End of Poverty.

The bed nets cost $10 each.

Malaria is epidemic in Rwanda, Sachs told the conference, with "children dying in huge numbers because of the lack of something as simple as a long-lasting insecticide-treated bed net."

No mention of DDT, it costs pennies and because of one silly little eco-nuts book, with no scientific verification, was banned world wide. Millions of African children have died because of people like Al Gore and Belinda, not evil, just wrong. They are wrong again, but seeing as how Al Gore's bank account is increasing just like the hockey stick he used in his Hollywood movie, I don't see him stopping his gravy train. He gets between $250,000 and $300,000 every time he speaks and he does not allow media or questions. Typical lefty, grab the money with lies and no debate.

Could it be about profits???

For decades, BASF has been committed to the fight against malaria and other tropical diseases. The company's latest contribution is Interceptor®, a mosquito net coated with the insecticide Fendona®. The net remains effective against mosquitoes for several years.

Funny DDT is harmless and has been around for years, but "new" solutions need to be found? Hummm. Like banning freon in fridges and now banning regular light bulbs to replace them with ones filled with mercury. Not evil, just looking for profits.

This hysteria about banning, a particular ambition of lefties, reminded me of this oldie but goody:

The most depressing part of the whole documentary was the little kids, talking about drowning after watching the Gore movie. Someone, like their teachers, should tell them it's fiction not fact. I challenged my sons teachers when my sons came home and told me they had watched the Gore movie in class. I demanded they should also show "The Great Global Warming Swindle, or stop showing Gore's movie. They had no clue that any other side of the issue existed. Nice teaching of our kids.

I don't think these people are evil, but their agenda is for sure. It hurts the poorest in our world, and with the Copenhagen Agenda, it seems they have assured the third world countries that they will get money, lots and lots of money, but no real help in development. Not evil, just socialist.

"Funny DDT is harmless..."

No, DDT is not harmless...DDT is toxic to a wide range of animals in addition to insects.

Read the rest at Wikipedia.

Huntsy, try calling DDT by its long form name - Dichlorodiphenyl-Trichloroacetic Acid, still think it's "harmless"?

'DDT is toxic to a wide range of animals in addition to insects'

Last time I looked, human beings were at the top of the food chain.

You can't tell me that an animal or insect's life is worth more than a child's life.

Well if you think that is scary mystery, did you know vinegar is contains tartaric acid and citric acid!!!

Do you eat meat Wilson, or are you a vegan? Some DDT in your steak?

There is also acetic acid in vinegar, so what!

Did you know that DDT can effect they way some people think? hahahaha

But if it saves just ONE child, right SQ?

Ironic that by banning something that MIGHT save MAYBE a handful of people, millions perished.

Kinda reminds me of the fact that so-called organic foods have never proved to be any safer or healthier. I can't help but think about the big scare a few years back over the organic bean and alfalpha sprouts literally oozing with bovine fecal matter.

Very good Wislon. Very, very good.

Organic are way safer...no pesticides sitting on top of our veggies.

"But if it saves just ONE child,"

This line is usually spoken by some one who wants to take away your right to do something...definitely not me!

Your sneering about the malaria nets is sad. You claim "pennies" worth of DDT will save the day? No. The difference between a DDT spraying and the nets is the same as giving someone a fish (feed them today) and teaching them to fish (feed them for life). The nets won't last forever, but they'll last longer than one application of DDT.

Ironic that by banning something that MIGHT save MAYBE a handful of people, millions perished.
Ironic that supposedly grown up people still believe this lie. DDT was NEVER banned for local spraying in a home for malaria control. It was banned for indiscriminate spraying on cash crops that do not get malaria, but which are affected by other insects. The widespread spraying actually sped up the process of mosquitoes acquiring a resistance.
So in the name of more profits from cotton crops, DDT lost its effectiveness and millions died of malaria.

I can't help but think about the big scare a few years back over the organic bean and alfalpha sprouts literally oozing with bovine fecal matter.
So which agricultural chemical would have prevented this bovine fecal matter from oozing in said beans and sprouts? I prefer organics because of the reduced pesticide load. The biggest problem is the lobbying against mandatory labeling of GM foods and lobbying against mandatory labeling of the chemical load in foods. The same forces prevent organic from being a legal designation of the agriculture departments so can't always rely on organic being organic.

Organics will spoil naturally and you won't eat it when it goes bad. I suppose you'd rather have the bovine fecal matter with some of the e. coli poisoned, then coloured and perfumed so it looks ok, and you won't notice the bovine fecal matter is still there, right?

The organic crowd has never been able to prove that organic food is safer or nutritionally better for you. 'Genetically Modified' conjures up images of mad scientists and 'Frankenfoods' being force feed to the populus by greedy conservative voting capitalists. Thier tactics are not unlike the baby seal whackjobs and polar bear sissies.

The sprouts were oozing with fecal matter because they were fertilized with cow poop and they weren't washed properly. In this case organic food gave consumers a false sense of security.

Typical lefties they continue to worship at the altar of Trudeau and discredited scientists. They brush off the fact that the US eradicated malaria by the use of DDT and no-one died from the DDT.

Watch Not Evil, Just Wrong, it will open your eyes. Funny how facts never stop a lefty.

If DDT is so bad, why do lefties think mercury in our light bulbs is a great idea? Mercury definitely kills fish and birds, and PEOPLE, this has been proven! Prove DDT kills people.

Well, Huntsy, if the mosquitoes are DDT resistant, then using it to prevent Malaria is ineffective right? Even though it will stay in our fatty tissues much like it does in those of other mammals fish and and birds it may not outright kill us at low concentrations. It will just live in soil for 12 years or so after it is sprayed everywhere. But if the bugs are resistant it still won't save us from Malaria. Liberal Supporter made that point.

The initial refutation is against your claim DDT is harmless which it is not. You can't suddenly insist people prove something they never claimed in the first place. Well... you can if you want HA!
