Wilson .....you are awesome! Great job! A standing ovation for our PM from the arts community???

Has the universe reversed course?

Within seconds of each other, 3 BTs caught the video!

I know this isn't the first time PMSH has played piano for an audience,
but what a surprise for this gala bunch,eh!

Thank you Wilson for giving me the link or I would have been snoring without knowing what had happened.

PM Harper is showing his real personality, everyone knows Laureen would not stay with a dud. She is bringing him out into the light so we can see what an exceptional guy he really is.

CBC has updated their article,
check out the standing ovation pic:
(perhaps the media can quit with their 'Harper dull as dishwater' thing,eh!

'...But instead of intermission after that performance,
Harper shocked the audience by coming on stage and sitting at a grand piano.
With Ma on cello, along with two guitarists and a drummer, they performed the classic Beatles hit, with Harper providing the lead vocals.

CBC's Evan Solomon, who attended the gala, said Harper's performance stunned and wowed the crowd,
and received high praise even from members of opposition parties who were also there for the evening.

Anyone think that giggles or tom will give him a star for this.

PMSH gets #1 star of the week, or we know it's rigged!! lol

Ha ha...this positively ROCKS! THIS IS THE MAN, guys! This is what and who he really is as a private person...always has been. This is no surprise but to actually have him get it OUT there in this environment is the most astonishing thing.
Nothing invented, nothing created, nothing artificial....he has an amazing and intriguing fabric.

wilson..you always rock.Always!

Meanwhile, over in liberal la-la-land, Iggy will make a cameo appearance at an underground punk club fronting WK's band, @#$% From Hell. Perhaps he'll borrow Paul Martin's air guitar.

Thanks Hunter and thanks for the link, wilson!

thx Hunter and Bec...

Bravo Stephen Harper, All around Canadian man. We are very lucky to have him as our Prime Minister!

p.s.
notice PMSH did NOT wear a black tie to a black tie event.
That rebel!! haha

hunter said...

Watching the whole video on CTV, dang PM Harper is hot! Laureen is a lucky lady.

Bec said...

"That rebel!! haha"

That was my FAVORITE part of the 'body language'...I wasn't going to mention it...It was very hip, relaxed and appropriate for a 2009 night out at the 'black tie events' (the TIE was there..for sure, just NOT THEN)

HE IS HOT, Hunter. The PM is a VERY NICE GUY and VERY GOOD LOOKING but I like...no I LOVE his mind and personality.
He is aging VERY NICELY.

(Is it okay if I say we sound like friends talking on face book?....Conservatives, ARE friends)

the #1 biggest Libluver blogger at Macleans wants to know what you think of the PMs gala performance:

'Paul Martin's air guitar'
LOL
I had forgotten about that one Eskimo!

Easy there, Hunter, easy!

Hey, it's nice to see you 'live blogging' for a change!

Looking at a few websites tonight, the lefties will be flooding emergency wards all across Canada tomorrow morning with acute cases carpal tunnel from all the mouse clicking they've been doing tonight. Their fauz outrage is great Saturday evening entertainment!

That sound you hear is the wind being taken out of the sails of the SS Liberal.

hunter said...

I would like to "live" blog more but during the week I work. So, let the good times roll during the weekend!

If he would have been wearing his glasses, it would have been perfect. HA!

Bec said...

"If he would have been wearing his glasses, it would have been perfect. HA!"

Who, the PM? Ha ha, yes Hunter, if that is what you meant....that would HAVE BEEN..perfect!

But.....this is NOT STAGED GUYS. THIS IS the Man, real person behind all of the crap and bull$hit that the opposition and media have portrayed him as. Nothing different, just more worldly and mature.
He was a GIFT at 25.

Wilson that's too funny! Help Iffy, please...

Bec, I agree, this was the real Stephen Harper. An ordinary guy with some talent. He actually has a very nice voice.

What a way to take the news coverage away from the Quebec lib meeting tomorrow.
Chucker has a great post up about this event.

I JUST LOVED this performance at the gala! I would have loved to have been there, having lived in Ottawa previously, off-and-on. I just LOVE his wry sense of humour, and he actually performed musically amazingly well, even for a politician!! This was so great that he found his inner-gala/ entertainer self!

It was obvious that he and the audience enjoyed the event. I am sure that he won't make it a habit, though, as we conservatives are wary of Obamasia. This really worked, though; it was a political statement, but way better than the sweater ads, as this IS the real SH, the one his wife loves who knows he can play a piano and sing (within a range) pretty well. Maybe, she talked him into this and, if so, bravo to Laureen, a great Albertan (my roots too). He did not try to hit the high notes, but no one expects that of a Canadian PM; he sung in tune with we Canucks, something that the travelling rival will never be able to do - striking the right nuance of self-effacement and courage. BRAVO! We GET it!

Meanwhile, Igneggy is serving Montreal cocktails to his frustrated, grumpy caucus and potential candidates. They will be positively apoplectic when they see our PM singing a happy song of our collective youth, a thought that gives us joy. Yes, we were naive then and voted for Trudeau without understanding how this would kill our freedom and change Canada into a country of people who think that those who want something for nothing have the RIGHT to take from those who work hard and provide for themselves. The US is about to do a right-turn on that issue, as Canada has had a better mix.

We will "love you", and "will get by with a little help from "our" nanny-state "friends", until more people get it.

I am still laughing and re-watching the video .... and sending the links to ALL my friends

I LOVE THIS!!

Put an end to the angry, humourless Harper.

Even Jane Taber was praising him, until the last sentence where she says.

Can an election be far off?

Check out Chucker's blog for a detailed timeline if this had been Iffy - so funny.

The PM has a Susan Boyle moment.
