Question Period: PM Harper Gets Tough With The NDP

Members Statements are key because they get read into Hansard for everyone to read. Just as Kinsella sues a Conservative MP, another one pops up. I'm not sure what is being accomplished except negative media reporting, but if that's the Liberals strategy, who am I to complain.

PM Harper takes Layton and the NDP to task. He is right, the NDP have gone from a party that sticks to it's principles to one that tried to join with the separatists to bring down a duly elected government. Legal or not, it was just plain sleazy.

The IMF praised Canada today, but you wouldn't know it from the whining of the opposition. What I am noticing lately is that no matter how hard the MSM are trying to make Iffy look good to Canadians, no one is listening. I hope the Bloc wins all seats in Quebec, so we can finally ignore them, (my kid is taking Japanese, not French) this should give the Conservatives a majority so they can finally get rid of the gun registry and the Canadian Wheat Board.

The NDP have abandoned their principles to cater to the unions, they forget that unions can not dictate how their members vote.

I wonder who is behind the MSM. If companies and unions can not donate to political parties anymore, have they compensated by contributing to the MSM? Think about it. Power Corp can not directly donate to the Liberal party anymore, so how can they best influence Canadian voters? Are they manipulating the media?

Man, did Harper ever stick it to Layton. As ill as I am with a huge cold, I risked the pain of a coughing fit and cheered. I did have a coughing fit but it's a small sacrifice to make for a slam-dunk smack-down made by our PM.

I also like what Harper does with his jacket button and cuffs when he gets up to speak - man, that guy is so calm. And he sure makes a point when he speaks. Jack Layton is going to pay and pay for his declaration of non-support for the budget before he read it. How stupid can you be - making that sort of declaration publicly. Stupid little creep - let's hope he stays on as leader because he makes it easy for us; same as Dion did.

The man rules.

Completely O/T but Sandy's, Jack's and Joanne's blogs are not available. When I tried to go there I got the message "Safari can’t open the page [blog] because it could not connect to the [blog] server."

Anyone know what's going on?

I dunno, folks. it seems a bit unfair to be pummeling Taliban Jack and his vacuuous minnions. It's kinda like the Hulk beating up on Mr. Bean. The NDP is inconsequential as a political force in this country. They're more a nuisance factor than a real poltical movement. The only support they get is in the leftist enclaves who still haven't graduated beyond their flower power and power to the people ideology. In a way it's rather sad to see how far the once honourable party of Douglas and Knowles has fallen.

With Dawn Black Leaving it will be one less whiner to listen too.

Unfortunately for me she will be running as an MLA here in BC so I won't benefit at all.

Sor, will lizzie run in the by-election in BC.

Mary T- I very much doubt it. Black's riding is an NDP riding that the CPC have occasionally taken by coming up the middle with the Lib/NDP split.

It is not a riding that would be friendly to the Green's and Lizzie would probably come fourth.

Unless the NDP run a high profile candidate we have a good chance of it going CPC in a by election. Cheers.
