Out With The Old, In With The New!

It was a busy week, our seeing eye dog in training, Enzo, graduated and is now with his blind person. He is a real star, and we were very sad to see him go, but he is needed way more by Ray then we needed him. Be good big buddy!

He is one of these puppies, learning the ropes early:

And this is him now:

Usually we get a break between dogs, but Dogs With Wings needs volunteers badly right now, so, today, we got Rigger, a small black lab who will start formal training tomorrow. We don't know yet if he will be a seeing eye dog, assistance dog or a dog for an autistic child, but so far, he's just adjusting to his new family.
He's only eaten one tennis ball so far!

Each dog is an experience for us, they are easy to love, and seeing them graduate is worth all the tears we shed when giving them up. I encourage you all to find an organization that makes you feel as good about giving your time and money as Dogs With Wings (The dog in the plane is Enzo!) makes our family feel.

I was ready to crawl into the screen when I played the video. I love Labradors and especially when they're puppies. Is there anything more adorable?

My sister has a chocolate lab. Typical porch hound, except he's allowed on the furniture! He's also 100+ pounds! The advantage of having a dog this large in the house is that he keeps the linoleum polished to a shine!
