"Offensive" American Flag

I know Iggy thinks our flag looks like a beer label, guess he was out of the country when the Liberals changed our flag. Oops Iggy.

Unfortunately, Canada isn't the only country with flag haters. Even in America you get people complaining about their flag.

Texas Woman Told to Remove 'Offensive' American Flag From Office

“I got into work, I was met by my supervisor and told that there had been multiple complaints, that people found the flag very offensive and it had been taken down," McLucas told FOXNews.com.

"I went to the office to retrieve it and found the flag wrapped around the pole, sitting in the corner on the ground. I was speechless."

McLucas, a supervisor at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, Texas, had displayed the 3-by-5-foot flag in the office she shares with the hospital’s three other supervisors. McLucas said one of her colleagues, a woman who immigrated to the United States from Africa 14 years ago, complained about the flag to upper management, and the hospital decided to take down the flag.

"I was told that as long as my flag offended one person, it would be taken down," McLucas said.

Funny how one complaint can have that much power. Political correctness totally disrespects our freedom of speech. Even my Friday funnies got attacked today because I had some jokes about rednecks.

We also had Ralph Goodale and his sidekick Jennings yapping about tar babies being racist. I think Ralph got confused and thought Pierre was referring to those black licorice candies called "n**ger toes". We of course don't call them that anymore, but Ralph is getting up there in years so maybe he can be forgiven, but for Jennings to use her blackness to call someone racist, just lowers the bar for what is true racism, she should know better.

It's getting so bad, you can't even pray together anymore!

Couple Ordered to Stop Holding Bible Study at Home Without Permit

Pastor David Jones and his wife Mary have been told that they cannot invite friends to their San Diego, Calif. home for a Bible study — unless they are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to San Diego County.

"On Good Friday we had an employee from San Diego County come to our house, and inform us that the Bible study that we were having was a religious assembly, and in violation of the code in the county." David Jones told FOX News.

"We told them this is not really a religious assembly — this is just a Bible study with friends. We have a meal, we pray, that was all," Jones said.

A few days later, the couple received a written warning that cited "unlawful use of land," ordering them to either "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit," the couple's attorney Dean Broyles told San Diego news station 10News.

The lefties attack free speech and religion because it doesn't agree with their tiny little minds, no room in there for thought nor the ability to understand different viewpoints. Progressives, those who understand only their point of view. Ban Bible studies but allow swingers clubs? Right, that probably makes sense to a progressive, because morals are to be sneered at and denigrated.

If I say lefties trolls are "offensive" and I want them removed from my blog, do you think the HRC's would hear my case? HA!

1)This wasn't a little flag on her desk. It was 3' x 5' -- that's in your face 8 hours a day!

2)Tar Babies are racist inventions, conjured up for the purpose of dehumanizing African Africans. It matters not one bit that Uncle Remus tales have roots in African folklore. Slavery reduced Africans to chattel, conveniences available to serve white people’s purposes. Over the centuries, white Americans have made full use of these privileges.

3)"...black licorice candies called "n**ger toes". We of course don't call them that anymore..." I guess that's sort of nice to hear...

4)"It's getting so bad, you can't even pray together anymore!" Cue the faux outrage! The neighbours didn't have a problem with them praying, their problem was with all these cars showing up in a residential neighbourhood. BTW the town has backed down.

SQ, a 3' x 5' flag is not really 'in your face', as you say, when it's hanging on a pole. But even it is stretched out... your flag is something to be proud of, not ashamed of.

I have a Canadian flag in my office next to my desk--the pole is about 7' tall, but the flag draps from it, it's not stretched out across the room. It no different than any of those flags you see standing on the side of stages and podiums everywhere. I also have a portrait of Stephen Harper on my office wall. No complaints about either, so far (not that I would take it remove it if anyone did complain).

First of all, n-toes were brazil nuts in the shell. N-babies were the candy.

As for the flag - good grief. How can the flag of one's own country be offensive? Besides, the complainant CHOSE to come to the States. To me, this indicates a personal grudge from one person to another and has nothing to do with the flag, at all. Some people are troublemakers, period.

SQ - that is not faux outrage. The faux outrage is the person who had a problem with consenting adults doing something in the privacy of somebody's home. I'd love to see somebody go after a Koran study in somebody's home. If the problem was really parked cars, why was the couple given the gears for having a religious assembly? Whether the town did or did not back down is not the issue - the issue is the religious persecution.

If it is okay for multiple consenting adults to participate in a group bondage thing in the privacy of a home, why can a group of consenting adults not be allowed to study the Bible. All faith groups do this sort of thing in homes - it is one of the cornerstones of any faith community. Frankly, I'd prefer to see consenting adults studying a faith-based book than sitting around playing loud heavy metal and smoking dope - but that's just me.

As for slavery - okay, it's over in North America, unless you count caregivers in certain people's homes. The states now has a bi-racial president so one could say that they've come a long way. Prejudice has and always will exist and there is no way other than pulling a Stepford move to eliminate it.

One last note - my street is often filled with cars - my neighbour even parks his car on the street for some strange reason. The RAV sits in the garage and the driveway (which will hold two vehicles) sits empty but he still parks his car on the street. When I have people over, there can be up to 5 vehicles on the street. Big deal. The parked cars issue was most likely just an excuse.

Dave - I have my cross up on my wall and nobody has ever complained. Heck, they have pics of their kids, themselves, they have ornaments...I have my cross. Freedom of expression. I even have...gasp...a Bible at work and have been seen reading it during my lunch hour. Our building even has a couple of "quiet rooms" for those of us who wish can go and pray or meditate during our lunch hours. Gasp. I've even had secular colleagues ask me to pray for them during times of personal crises. Gadzooks, what is the world coming to?

There are troublemakers in the world and, fortunately, I don't work with any - thank God for that because anybody who would try it on me would find him or herself in very deep doo-doo.

At employee functions, I'll even say silent grace at the table and, get this, my colleagues wait until I'm finished - we all respect each other and extend common courtesy. I guess I could say that I work with adults and not troublemaking children.

My dad has a friend, from the summer resort were they used to stay, that had an Acadian Flag up on his flag pole. The management told him that the flag was offensive to someone, and he was ordered to remove it. The man told the resort owner that the Acadian flag is a recognized flag in Canada and that there are people in the park with Imperial Japanese flags(our sworn enemies WWII)and even one with a pot leaf on it. The owner would not relent and he was forced to remove his flag.

Oh and 'Southern Quebec':
It is funny how these immigrants don't complain about the flag to the immigration official when they arrive, it's only after they are empowered as citizens do the look down on the very symbol of freedom that stands for the principles in which she gained her empowerment in the first place.

The kind of people that hang flags or portraits of Prime Ministers give me the creeps.

Dave: Does it make you more of a 'patriot' by the size *snicker* of your flag? Why do you need a flag by the side of your desk?

Off topic but Wilson sounds like he/she hates everything and anything including tomatoes, piano players, goldfish, whistling but yet loves curling...odd this Wilson.

Why not have one? I'm a proud Canadian, and so I have a flag in my office and I have one on my house as well. Some people choose to decorate their workspace with pictures and flowers. I have those too... My office contains a couple of potted trees, a model ship on my office conference table, and a very nice globe in the corner. So why not a flag? It shouldn't be more offensive than any of those other objects. But as I said earlier, if someone didn't like it, that's just too bad. Fortunately, my staff are a bunch of professional adults and not whining children.

The fake Wilson has joined us again. We refer to the fakers as twits - for lack of a more polite term to use on the blog.

Thanks, Fay.

SQ - you can hang a pic of your wife so why can somebody else not hang the flag? As to the "why" - it's a personal choice and none of your or anybody else's business.
