I spent the day at track and field and froze my butt off. At noon I finally went home, got the winter coat and boots out and went back with a blanket for my youngest boy, who was wearing shorts. My guy was upset because he would be competing with the grade eight's and thought he would do badly. Turns out he came in fourth in the 800 race, so he was quite happy. Learning about failure is not a bad thing, if you understand it's just a part of life that you can cry about, or defeat.
I have never been so cold for so long as today. Even sitting in front of our fireplace hasn't warmed me up.
I did watch the Ruby Hour, what a disgrace. If you didn't catch it, it was taped and you can see it all here. More on that when my fingers thaw out.
Where is that global warming we are supposed to be scared of? I say bring it on!!

The 800 is the toughest race of all because it isn't a sprint and it isn't long distance. Good on the lad for taking it on. And in the cold weather as well!!
No interest in the i-Ruby thingie. It will all come down to the "i-racist" and "i-victim" cards.
I can relate to you being cold to the core.
My daughter and her friends are on the West Coast Trail and it has been terrible (hail, snow and freezing cold).
They have decided to quit early rather than end up with pneumonia. It was a gut wrenching decision as they had looked forward to this trip all year.
No sign of global warming here in BC. Cheers.
Hunter- your mailbox is full and I am trying to send you something that is wat too funny.
Global warming but local cooling? I have that at home. My propane refrigerator. I call it my "Suzuki machine" since people who can't understand weather can be cooler due to global warming also can't understand how a flame can cool an ice box.
Okay Sor, I have made some room in my email account.
LS, some of us are smart enough to realize global warming is a money grabbing scheme that has nothing to do with real weather or real climate change.
Just ask those arctic explorers who have abandoned their quest to reach the north pole. Go see it at http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/05/11/catlin-artic-ice-survey-packing-it-up-what-have-they-accomplished/
Or are you scared that Suzuki the bug guy just might be wrong?
Apples and oranges there liberal supporter, apples and oranges.
But to those who bow to the prophet Suzuki (P.B.U.H.) and the First Church of Climatology, polar bears have big smiles on thier faces while they're happily drinking Coca-Cola as they're all gathered toogether in blissful climate consciousness gazing at the northern lights on a crisp winter's eve.
And yes I do know how refrigeration works. Perhaps you should bone up on your 'facts'. That little propane flame inside your Suzuki 'Freezemaster 6000' may give off heat, but it's not the heat from the burning propane that keeps your Eggos frozen and your soy milk from spoiling.
The propane drives the compressor causing the refrigerant to cool so that you can have a cheerful breakfast each and every morning at Chez Moonbat.
According to your 'science' the way to make ice cubes is to apply a propane flame to a beaker full of water. Let us know how this little science experiment of yours turns out as Hunter and the rest of us are retrieving the winter clothes back out of storage.
If you're a school science teacher, I hope the parent council launches a class action lawsuit on you and your school division for promoting such claptrap.

Your projection of my science would also state that I can just toss a can of gasoline on a car and it will magically start and drive away.
If you're a school science teacher, I hope the parent council launches a class action lawsuit on you and your school division for promoting such claptrap.I am not a science teacher, but I will try to help you out of your ignorance. Propane refrigerators do not have compressors, or any other moving parts, aside from a thermostat. Read about it hereMy premise stands. Adding heat can result in local cooling. Different mechanisms are at work with the sun-earth system, but increased capture of the sun's heat can result in local cooling.
Trying to claim that global warming is preposterous on the basis of local cold weather, is therefore conclusively refuted.

The manufacture of propane refrigerators can be viewed as a "money grabbing scheme", since the manufacturers do try to make a profit.
The fact that someone makes money of a propane fridge does not negate the fact that it works.
Claiming global warming is a "money grabbing scheme" does not refute it.
As always, the scientists could be wrong. Something you never ever hear from the nay sayers.
